Room was very clean. Not enough places to hang towels, coats etc.
Basic facilities but clean and comfortable and great for getting to co-op arena
Good Position for Coop Live Venue
The staff were friendly x helpful, the hotel x rooms very clean. Tram service was near by, also great spot for co-op arena. Will come again x recommend to family. Thank you for a pleasant stay.
This ‘budget’ Ibis hotel does ‘basic’ very well. Clean. Helpful staff. Easy to find. Ample parking around the area, and a 15 minute walk along the canal towpath to the Co-op Arena. Will book again for any future gigs.
Budget by Name…
Budget by name, budget by nature. Everything except for the staff was ‘ok’. Room was exceptionally small, but comfortable. Breakfast was basic, but adequate. And the staff… they were excellent. Friendly, polite and got the feeling they’d do anything that was asked of them.
Very basic, you pay for what you get. Went to Coop Areana to concert, hotel just 15 mins walk away
Never again
Won’t be going back. It does state it’s a budget hotel and it really is, the room was small and characterless, you couldn’t even have a cup of tea or coffee in your room and the toilet was in a room so small you couldn’t shut the toilet door without the door touching your knees!
Basic
Booked this as it was close to the co op arena and it was relatively cheap. I knew it would be basic, but wasn’t expecting the rooms to be as sparse as they were. It was clean, easy to check in and close to the arena. The rooms are totally bare, the beds tiny and pushed together. No comforts. It is basic.
Not for 50s+
Whilst I knew it was budget, didn’t expect as a 50+ women to be climbing a bunk bed ! No tea or coffee EXCEPTIONALLY BASIC
The hotel was in a perfect location, just between the city center and the Co-op Live / Etihad campus. The tram was just steps away from the enterance and it was a quick walk to get to from the train station. I would absolutely stay here again.
Good
The communication from Expedia and the hotel was awful, I never managed to speak to a human only email and bots. Very disappointing customer support
Overnight stay
Good location for train station and co op live, nice Costa next door
Rooms are very small toilet a joke shower and sink are in bedroom
Budget but poor service and staff unfriendly
Reception were busy chatting as a group of 3 and we were an inconvenience to serve. Didn’t welcome us, didn’t do anything to support our stay and explain about the offerings and breakfast options. More interested in social posts in their phones. Room was basic and limited space, bed was very uncomfortable and no extra blankets or pillows to make it more comfortable. Appreciate its budget but not to the point of discomfort. Left and no acknowledgment from the staff again, handed key over and nobody said anything.
Found hotel floors were not cleaned properly. Shower and sink are not separated from sleeping area which makes it very awkward if you are with friends/colleagues, had to retuck sheet before getting in the bed, toilet is separated but very small. Beds were not comfy at all. We moved the beds apart as they were pushed right next to each other. Great if you are wanting to be close to Etihad/Joie stadium as only 25/30 mins walk and about 10 min walk to centre. Metro station parking is across road at £6.50 for 24 hour
Nice and clean. Sheets on bed spotless and crisp white. Basic room. Shower cubicle next to bed with sink next to it in the room. Separate toilet. No kettle or water to drink . Get what you pay for.
Great room, no onsite parking tho so have to pay somewhere
This hotel was great for the price! Next to a convenience store & a short walk from the Piccadilly station & Metro. Will definitely be using this hotel on my trips to Manchester!
Breakfast Needs Improving
Everything was great, but breakfast.... The crossiants were stale, blueberry muffin was stodgy, the orange juice tasted like it has been off for ages, very bitter, the milk was warm, the only edible thing you had was the yoghurt, was very poor and not worth the additional money paid for it!
1 night stay
Cheap and cheerful, parking close to hotel in the tram station. Utilised a well lit walking route to the Co op arena. Overall lovely place. Bed comfy.
Disappointed
1st experience of Ibis Budget and will not use again. Ok it was a Saturday night but at £173 I would expect some basics. No kettle/tea coffee - paid £3.50 to buy a drinks pack( including) kettle. No hand towel, only I pillow each. No where to put anything other than a small shelf under TV. No phone in the room. Very Small double room. Very basic breakfast. Only 1 room card each. Little interest from reception staff.
No warm water in my room!
This was ultra basic and reminded me more of a hospital room than a hotel room. Just about passable for one night and no privacy between the room and the shower room. The single beds were next to each other and no ability to separate them.
Can’t fault my stay
Great position for coop arena using blue line Nice staff on front desk. Very helpful Room was clean and warm Basic - shower was weak but usable I will use this hotel again Used the parking facility on Pollard street £6.50 for 24 hours
Budget friendly, close to arena and short walk from the station. Happy with my stay!
Good
Very clean. Good if staying for one night since some usual hotel facilities are not in room. You can request these at a charge. I’d recommend for one night concert goers. The room was clean and staff was friendly. Good heating in room. Tram transport just outside which was very helpful. A pleasant stay.
The hotel is within walking distance to the Co-op Live arena (approx. 15-20 mins walk) and the hotel itself is what you'd expect for a budget option, so long as you don't walk in expecting The Ritz then this hotel is a fantastic option. All of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, the room I had (420) was small but perfect for a cheap one night stay for a solo traveler or couple. The bed was really comfortable, great aircon and I was pleasantly surprised at how good the shower was. The hotel communal areas and the rooms themselves were very clean, although the toilet in my room smelled a little unpleasant despite looking spotless. I can't comment on the breakfast as I skipped this, but there's a Domino's pizza and a Londis on the corner of the hotel which was very convenient - I'd definitely consider staying again when I'm next in Manchester :)
Clean enough but very small and very basic.
Ok place to stay
The lobby is the nicest part of this hotel. The rooms have a bad, musty smell. I was dying to be able to open a window. The room was clean. I did not like that I put up a do not disturb sign on my door, yet housekeeping still went in to restock the mini bar. Yet, 2 days later when I asked them to restock the water they did not. I noticed in the hallway when they are making over the rooms they leave piles of linens and towels outside the room on the floor; however some of the linens were in plastic bags (which is acceptable) some were just piled on the dirty floor which is not acceptable. There is no elevator so suggest first floor if this will be an issue for you.
Good place to stay.
It’s not memorable - just function, and it is good for the price I paid. Not sure how throughout the cleaning was as I found a 1/4 bottle of spirit under the bed.
Average size room for a family of 3
Though the room was clean, it was too small to stay for a family of 3. No wardrobs and place to keep luggage. Ambience is good and lite. Staff is polite and respectful and assists you with a smile on face.
Comfortable bed for the night. No tea/coffe making facilities in the room which was disappointing.
The room was more like a private hospital room toilet was jn a cupboard the shower was see through no privacy no curtains or any where to sit and had to pay for tea coffee and a kettle in the room
The check-in process took longer than necessary, though we didn’t mind waiting as we believed the staff were relatively new and still in training. I’ve stayed at other ibis properties and the service and procedures were top notch, tho I guess this is what you get when go to the ibis budget. The room did the trick for us travelling for a concert; however the price was extortionate due to the coinciding Pride celebrations.
Nice room only problem is the toilet where it is you are opposite a mirror in the room
Perfect for Co op arena.
We were at a gig at the new Co-Op Arena and it is in the perfect location for walking back, as it is on the route back into Manchester. Rooms are small and basic, but that is what you expect. We would go back if we go to see something else at the Co-Op Arena.
Great location if you’re attending an event at the Co Op Live arena - would recommend
Does the job
Nice place to stay for a few nights, does the job and ideal location for centre and getting to Coop Live. Bit more attention to detail required in rooms (shower gel was empty so had to go get some, bits of mold in places, bedding inside out... that type of stuff) Shops/coffee/takeaways close by as well
N/A
Great stay for gig at Coop arena
Perfect one night stay for going to a gig at Coop arena Room was decent size for one night and nice and clean. Car park two mins walk away and only £6.50 for overnight. Right near the tram stop so ideal for going to the arena
I recently had the pleasure of staying at the ibis Hotel and was thoroughly impressed by my experience. The hotel's convenient location made it an ideal choice, with easy access to major attractions and transportation options. The staff at ibis Hotel were exceptionally friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with a smile. Their warm hospitality truly enhanced my stay. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, providing a perfect retreat after a busy day exploring the city. Overall, ibis Hotel exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for anyone seeking a pleasant and hassle-free stay.
Ufc Manchester
Did what I needed it to do after an event.
When booking the breakfast said full English. This implied that it was a cooked breakfast. This wasn’t the case. I booked a twin room as it was appropriate for beds to be shared. The shower however wasn’t in a separated room. This meant that one of us had to vacate the room for the other to shower. Only one pillow was provide. When I asked for a second there weren’t any available. There were a distinct lack of socketed available in the room for charging phones, watches etc. no tea making facilities in the room.
Bed were uncomfortable no parking at property
Decent for short stay.
Basic hotel
Clean basic hotel in location that is walkable to bars.
Budget hotel
Room adequate but felt very spartan, with no soft furnishings, no plug socket near the mirror so couldn’t see to do hair, no chair to sit on, no tea or coffee available in the room and vinyl flooring. However, it was a budget hotel and location was ideal for a visit to the Coop live arena.
Cheap and cheerful
Great location for co op live, cheap and cheerful except for the front of staff, rude and very unhelpful
Was clean and comfortable
No parking at hotel so had to pay extra for that (20 mins walk away) Room was clean but basic, staff weren’t really helpful on night when you wanted food seemed like they didn’t want to make anything. Breakfast was only continental so couldn’t have a full English, bed was comfy but only one pillow each. Costa and Dominoes right next door
Excellent location for the co op live 2 mins on the tram the 6 pound back on uber
Travelodge with a continental twist!
Ibis budget is a a Travelodge type hotel, clean and badic. Decent continental breakfast for £8.50 and serves pizzas and other food till midnight. In walking distance or near tram station to Co-op Live/Etihad stadium.
PJ 24
The hotel was basic as expected but it was clean with hot water in the shower however the mattresses were very thin & uncomfortable. We had an issue with the air conditioning unit leaking when we returned to our room after a night out but it was easily & quickly dealt with by Priya at reception who moved us to another room. The location was close to the city centre & the Etihad campus the tram station was within 2 minutes walk & this made it easy to travel around the city I would probably stay here again but might need a mattress topper !
Just enough
Convenient location
Just one night to attend a concert at Coop live. Convenient location for the arena and Man City Etihad. No parking on site so had to leave car up the road in the team car park which is charged. Some staff were great but the odd one lethargic. Also didn’t know about the city tourist tax until we checked in.
Great location & staff were very helpful & friendly
Great location for co-op live arena
Great location for new co-op live arena with tram stop just up the road and tram station parking as long as it’s not full it’s all very close to the hotel
Budget quality, premium price! Negatives: £175 for a very small twin room (probably should have been a single) where the beds actually touched, with only the smallest amount of space to move them apart. Floor of room was sticky underfoot. No separate bathroom. There was a toilet room that was so small you had to back into it or leave the door open to be able to walk in and turn around. The sink and shower were in the main part of the room, with the glass door of shower (not fully privacy proof) facing a mirror that was facing the beds, which were the only place to sit. No facilities to make a drink Positives: Helpful reception staff, close to amenities. Overall very disappointing and very overpriced.
It was a nice clean room with everything you needed. Also it was walkable to everything so very convenient plus the staff were so kind when i was checking in and when it was time to check. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay at an affordable hotel near the city centre of Manchester
I knew it was a 30 minute walk into the city centre, but this could be an issue for some. Apparently taxis are quickly available
Non budget ibis Manchester
Convenient for coop live. But very disappointed with hotel. No tea/coffee facilities. Hotel cafe didn’t have decaf. Toilet in room so small couldn’t close door. Shower unable to hold constant temperature and you were either frozen or scalded. Not budget price cost us over £190 for the night. Will not return
No bells, no whistles, no complaints!
Definitely a budget option, however; 1. Great location for our event at Coop Live. 20min walk, mostly flat. 2. Clean hotel. 3. Friendly staff and easy check in/out. 4. Tiny room but fine for just sleeping in. 5. Room was quiet, couldn't hear other guests. 6. Super comfy bed, slept really well. 7. Basic but very nice continental style breakie. 8. Good price. Overall we no negatives, if you want a budget option i would recommend staying at the Ibis. No bells, no whistles but it was great!
Great stay friendly staff
Good hotel
Smooth check in, friendly staff, good service and extremely helpful when we felt our room was unsuitable - the staff arranged a room move
Poor not good value
Excellent, clean and quick! We were able to get early check in from a red eye flight, the room was clean, and the continental breakfast was great. Location was perfect, close to train station and co-op for a concert we attended.
Location Great but definitely budget standard
Location was perfect as we were attending a concert at the coop live and city centre was easily accessible. Hotel itself wasn't the best but then i suppose it is a budget hotel. It would of been nice to have an actual bathroom and not just a sink and shower next ro your bed.
The staff were so welcoming, they knew we were running late for a show and got us checked in ASAP. The room was efficient, every bit of space is used perfectly. The windows shut out any noise from the street outside, the blackout blinds were great too. Brilliant price and exactly what we needed for one night.
Convenient accommodation for Co-op Live
Overnight stay for the Co-op Live. No frills accommodation but safe, quiet and convenient. Walked easily down to the arena in the evening and back along the canal bank after the show. Walked into central Manchester in the morning.
Cant fault staff ,clean, tidy very over priced Ibis budget I think not
Very pleasant and clean. Low budget, just wanted a clean and comfortable bed with good quality towels and good facilities. This hotel delivered what I needed.
Very clean and good 🛌
Good location for Coop live
Cheap and cheerful, perfect location for Coop live, tram directly across also 20-30min walk along the canal. Hotel rooms are small and shower is in the bedroom rather than in bathroom. Room was basic but perfect for short stay. Post event hotel doesn’t have a bar but does have a drinks fridge in reception.
Hotel central to Manchester
Hotel was very central to Manchester city. Room quite small, no coffee/tea making facilities. Shower in room, a bit smelly! Breakfast adequate.
Clean quiet small room but that I paid for that price but served by stay to be closed to the c o- op live and didn't have to cost me arms and legs. Staffs are very helpful and courteous.
Didn't like the bunkbed over the double as felt a bit unsafe getting up there so i put the mattress on the floor and slept on it in middle off the room, the room we were in there was plenty of space to put a single bed in there.
Fantastic value
Ideal hotel cheap cheerful very clean staff was so helpful and polite cannot fault them in any Breakfeast was continental but plenty of it. No doubt some snowflake will moan theres a bit of paper on top of something but dont bother its spotless
On a positive note, this hotel was clean, modern and the beds were comfortable and very convenient for the Etihad Stadium and the Co-op live. Downsides were the room was tiny, twin beds had a divider, the loo was only just big enough for an adult to access, the A/C was difficult to control and the breakfast was meagre. Not worth the £237 for one night!!
Are you going to Ethiad?
Ideal for Ethiad events 20 mins walk to Station and events inc the Coop Luve
Nice and clean and in a good area for us visiting the co op arena
Good night stay, perfect distance from central Manchester!
The menu for food of a day was limited. Long wait for food and the quality was very disappointing.
Basic but clean. Booked a family room for 3 adults - be aware that the 3rd bed is a top bunk! Shower was in the room with a frosted glass door - viewable by all in the room!
Very good
Hadn't done a review as I really don't think you want to know what I thought. Won't be using any Ibis Hotels in the future, very disappointed in the treatment I received, please do not send me anymore more surveys.
Great service, short distance from Manchester Piccadilly station. Room was well prepared.
Amazing
The staff were extremely helpful and polite, the room and the hotel was modern and clean. The breakfast was really nice. I would definitely use this hotel again. Value for money.
Quite small rooms with almost no space. Had to pay extra for checking in 30 minutes early even though the room was ready. Would probably choose a different hotel next time.
Good value. Clean functional room. Good location.
Overall nice experience
Basic Accommodation
It was very basic especially considering the price paid.
Less than budget experience.
Shower handle was broken off and sharp to turn on. Shower itself had no hot water (luke warm at best). Aircon would only blow cold and the room was freezing. Turning thermometer up and onto heating only did nothing, it kept blowing cold.
Friendly staff. Comfty rooms. You could also get around many places. Picadilly station or the city centre. Your pick! Also if you're a City fan, it's only a walk down the road to the Etihad! 😎
Our stay
Shower was not very good hot but water very slow
Staff were very courteous and efficient. Room is spartan, but clean. Breakfast was good. Location is fine during the day, close to tram stop. Overall, a good budget stay.
Nice for a basic room. Good access to the Co-op arena (walk, tram or Uber). Nothing much around the hotel like bars and restaurants for a meal.
