I got a cold as AC only had "cool" mode for my first two days of staying. It's November And considered as winter, So Customers shouldn't have taken time walking up and down, reporting the same issue, and doing a lot of tests for the hotel and hotel engineering. It is Hotel's responsibility to confirm AC works properly in the room and has "heat" mode in November.
Very nice stay.
Happy with cleanses, staff are very helpful and friendly. Although roon is little small it's functional. Love the hotel lounge where I enjoyed some hot drinks with nice pastry from near by shops.
Excellent location
The hotel location was excellence. Step to Metro and cafe and restaurants. The room was small but very functional and clean.
Not very comfortable
Rooms are tiny, the toilet doesn’t even have a real door, it was extremely hot and they didn’t let us turn on the AC
POOR VALUE FOR MONEY...
We choose this property for its location for a one night stay on opur way out of Spain... The location was indeed very good being within walkin ddistance of Plaza Mayor... However its 'budget' set up provides a minimal room space, lacking enough space to even open the two suitcases. - The tight room was very warm and the A/C system had been already set up (prematurely in our opinion) for heating. We had to leave tha balcony door open overnight. - The neighborhoud location and condition makes you somewaht unconforatable.- It turned out to be the MOST EXPENSIVE stay of our 30 day EUROPE trip, including London..!!
Centrally located hotel near a metro station
What We Liked: -Convenient location near the Metro station -Proximity to restaurants and shops -Friendly and helpful staff What We Didn’t Like: -The bathroom and sanitary facilities are very narrow -The bed is hard and uncomfortable -Limited breakfast options Overall, as a budget hotel, it meets basic needs, but improvements could enhance the experience.
Great hotel in Lavapies
Nice hotel, comfortable and clean, very good prized
Nice compact room, great friendly staff
Close to subway to get to attractions Looks crappy around the building Good for price Very clean Personal very friendly
Excellent offer
excellent location and very good offer and price benefits relation
Good hotel, friendly and helpful staff
Good hotel a short distance for. Main tourist areas. Lots of small bars and restaurants very close as well as a 24 hour Carrefour express. Very convenient for short tourist or business trip
Check in was great. We had a large group of hotel rooms reserved, and the receptionist did an amazing job. Overall, sufficient, but got what we paid for. We will likely not go back as it didn't work well for having a group of students. For example, the shower is part of the room, not ideal for non-relatives.
The facilities, breakfast and staff are very good. However the vecinity is a noise and intimidated place
Good hotel.
The hotel was great overall. Only issues were that the towels were really fragile and the TV had a line down it. It’s not enough to put me off as I had my own towel and and don’t really watch TV.
The property was easy to find right across from the subway station, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. There’s a great bar/ restaurant right next door and many more with walking distance. The room was small but worked well for us. The shower was plenty hot and had good pressure and the bed was comfortable.
Not impressed at all! I got room with two beds because my daughter decided to go with us and they do not let her in our room so they make me to buy another room! Two beds of the size of less than one and when you sleep at night bed separates. Was nightmare. Very small rooms no closet no soap no hair dryer my wife has to go to bed with wet hair after taking a shower. No table no refrigerator nothing! Basically a small room with nothing inside ! Only small TV and two kid sized beds! Never go to this hotel ! Be aware!
Nice budget hotel, no frills nice stay.
Location was excellent, everything was in walking distance. Breakfast was excellent.
Basic but nice & clean rooms. Very friendly staff and felt safe staying there. Nice garden terrace out the back. Only minor thing was that the mattress’s would slip off the bed sometimes as it was 2 singles on the double bed, so kept having to get up and push them back on.
Good location to explore the city, great couple of bars near hotel and metro station very close by. Twin room lacked a bit of privacy for showering and breakfast nice but limited
Overall is good
The stay was amazing!!
Well located. Metro station right across the steer. Plaza mayor an other main attaractions at walking distance
Good location, a few steps away from the metro station, other places like Museo Reyna Sofia, Atocha train station were very close, and other places very walkable like 15 min. away. A lot of options to eat and drink, supermarket just next door. May not be the best neighborhood but felt like a safe area. Mainly locals and a lot of migrant population.
Rooms are super small, cruise ship cabin size, but clean and got everything you need. Super well located, right in front of the metro station "lavapies", also very walkable to everywhere, close to Reina Sofia Museum, Atocha Train station, lots of options to eat. Lots of innmigrant population in the area but feel safe.
The staff were friendly and the room was clean. The location was convenient with the metro station opposite the hotel, which made it easy to get around madrid and to Atocha and Chamartin stations to get to other places. Thank you.
Ibis Budget Madrid had poor room storage facilities, no hairdryer, breakfast room far too small, compared to Bristol Ibis Budget.
Location! Small room but has what you need.
GREAT location for exploring Madrid! Walkable to everything, and Metro 200 steps away. Breakfast is terrific. Room is small, but has everything you need. Sort of like an American 20 foor travel trailer RV, except toilet and shower better.
Staff should clarify if/whether the hotel will charge customers upon request for basic items (water, coffee, etc).
Perfect! Excellent!
The stay was great. We had all we needed at the hotel. The room was cozy, the beds were comfy and we had enough space. The hotel staff members were always very nice. We booked with breakfast included and it was great, it had jamón ibérico and tortilla which are Spanish classics and we loved that. We had to check out super early since we had to take a train, and so one of the members of the staff let us have our breakfast earlier which was amazing! I really appreciated that! The room was always clean and overall the hotel was super clean. It’s a modern but simple hotel, which is what I always look for :D The location was perfect! We were just one/ two subway stations from the center of the city, super close to Madrid’s main attractions. And we had a supermarket next to the hotel which was open 24 hs!! That was fantastic!
Is very basic hotel and the price is not for a budget hotel.
Hotel agradable y limpio. Terribles toallas y espacios absurdamente pequeños.
Loved the location and happy with cleanliness in general.
What you would expect for a budget hotel
Perfectly fine if you just want somewhere to put down you head. Room layout was a little odd but it had a shower and toilet, but no kettle to make a coffee in the morning.
The hotel it's ok
Great property right next to the metro
Budget hotel with parking for very small cars!
Generally what you would expect from a budget hotel. Room small with few facilities but adequate. Rather noisy location.Teal downside to this hotel is the parking - unless you have a really small and I mean small car then don't use the parking garage!! It has a lift system that is tiny and to be parking floors are cramped.
El desayuno es lo mejor del lugar
Amazing stay.
Room are so small we stayed for 7 days . Can’t breathe well in the room . Service staff are friendly and great . Location is convenient in front of the metro but the metro is full of dangerous . Basically is safety issue concern for this hotel
Location: The location is excellent. Centrally located, two minutes walking from Lavapies subway station, about fifteen minutes from the train station. Neighborhood: Very convenient. There is a Carrefour next door, a fresh fruit store across the street and there are several ethnic restaurants minutes walking from the hotel. Unfortunately, it does tend to get loud at night, so request a room on the backside of the building. Rooms: The rooms are small and simple. The beds are comfy but very narrow and kind of short. There is soap. Other amenities are available downstairs. The shower worked well and was very clean, but the doors were transparent AND there was a mirror next to the shower as well as directly opposite of it. So, your roommates will have a full view of you while taking a shower. There were a couple of shelves and two hooks, plus several hangers, to hang your clothes or jacket up on. The outlets were all European, so make sure you bring an adaptor. Breakfast: Breakfast is fresh and yummy. It is the exact same every day. There are freshly baked breads, cereals, meats, cheese, fruit, juices, coffee, tea, yogurt, eggs, etc. Simple but very nice. Recommendations for the hotel: Add a lock and doorknob to the inside of the toilets. The showers intermittently get freezing and scalding hot. Replace oranges and kiwis with fruits that are easier to peel like mandarins or bananas. Allow guests free access to tea and coffee throughout the day, free of charge.
The staff was exceptionally friendly, always around. Breakfast was very good and the proximity to the big museums and the center is great. Would definitely come back when visiting Madrid again!
The hotel is attractive and cleverly designed. It is not a roomy place, but every square inch of space is put to good use. If you are a walker, the location is extraordinary. Everything you might want to see in Madrid can be explored on foot from here, while the neighbourhood of Lavapiés itself is totally wonderful. It is an area that is brimming with authenticity and character. The hotel is spotless. The staff are beautiful--helpful, friendly, and professional.
bargain price
the hotel is fine if you ar eprice focused and dont want amentities and larger rooms. originally booked a room with 2 single beds but when checkin, decided the room was too small too comfortably fit 2 adults.my friend got their own room. the cost of the two rooms equalled sharing a higher quality hotel room. breakfast was very good with a ample choices and quality. location is within walking distance to Atocha train staton and palza Mayor, Del Sol and Palacio Real in Old Madrid.
No AC as advertised.
DO NOT STAY HERE! The listing on Hotels.com shows air conditioning. The thermostat was locked on HEAT mode (we have a pic) and the Hotel Clerk said he could not do anything about it. We did not stay the 2nd night and the Hotel did not refund our money. If the advertisement on Hotels.com said you do not have control over the ac we would not have booked this hotel.
Todo muy bien!!
Great location. Basic but very friendly
The room was small but practical. The shower and sink were both in the room with the bed. No lock on toilet door. But the staff were very friendly and breakfast choices were good. It’s an excellent location for Reina Sofia and Atocha. One slight downside - the walls were very thin. You can hear movement in the rooms next door, above and below. In fact it felt like someone was trying to get in on more than one occasion. Tiny towels - consider taking your own.
Air conditioning didn’t work very good
The room was too small. My husband is 6'2" and weights 280 pounds. So we were like crowed in the room.
Great location, very modest accommodations but clean and tidy
.
Walking distance to many great options in Madrid
The rooms are small but comfortable. If you just need to sleep, shower and relax, than that's all you need. The location is great. Within 15 min walking distance to anything
AREA
Better than I was expecting.
The hotel is IKEA basic but good. The location is in a busy neighborhood lots of bars and restaurants the night life goes on into the early hours. Convenient for all attractions all walkable.
It is a noisy street and very busy area. OK with window fully closed.
The location was near the Metro Station. It was walkable to places we wanted to go. Staff was helpful. I booked for a two-twin beds, but what we got was a one-bed box with two twin mattresses on it, that we almost fell from the bed. Very bad.
Great economy hotel! Clean!
Even though the ibis was small, it was very clean, extremely good price and in the middle of everything. I was in walking distance to museums, shopping, restaurants and stores. I never needed to Uber anywhere. I will definitely book ibis on my next trip to Madrid.
Nice Hotel. Neighborhood is a little rough.
It is a clean, cheap place to stay
Very friendly staff
The place was quiet, I was on the 5th floor. The Metro was very close. The staff were very helpful. I found places to eat. I could also go by Metro further afield. Great shower. Very clean and comfortable bed.
The bathroom doors should at least have a handle or lock or something to keep them closed. floors could have been vacuumed.
Ibis Budget was an excellent surprise - excalent location and service
Fine if you’re ok with a very firm mattress
My main complaint was the size and firmness of the mattresses. Rather narrow and very hard. Other than that it was fine. I wish there was a way to filter hotels for mattress firmness.
Super breakfast, everything!!!
Nice clean cheap hotel perfect for a short stay
Clean, with a great location and priced perfectly
Clean hotel, perfectly located close to great restaurants, shops, and directly across from a subway station that takes you right to the center of the city in two minutes. Rooms are considerably small but for a single business traveler, or a couple looking to spend most of their time exploring the city this is a great option.
Very nice place to stay. Few amenities, true to its budget name, but immaculately clean and comfortable with a kind and helpful front-desk staff. Location can't be beat. Across the street from the metro and a taxi stand, two doors down from a 24-hour grocery and a reasonable walk to all the major sites of central Madrid.
Lovely stay! Rooms were small and simple, but this was exactly what I wanted. It was very clean, an excellent location with a walkable area, and staff were all polite and helpful. Very pleased!
Near from centre Madrid
All good. Nothing to complain about. Clean. Good breakfast. Efficient staff.
Good area
the mattress is terrible. It was the worst I've ever slept.
Connivence
Very convenient near a metro station and walking distance to restaurants, shopping.
Nice, clean and beautiful.
Great value for money, all basics done perfectly
very disappointed, rooms are very small, night stands are just a piece of wood like a shelf, just enough space for a cell phone an a bottle of water, shower is separated from toilet, NO privacy to get undress/ dressed you have to do it inside the shower, No complementary toiletries, they charge for them, if you ask for cups to drink water you'll get paper cups, 1 per person, you get only get 1 pillow per person. not in a very good location, that area its dirty, trash on the streets, people gather outside the hotel and they played games, screamed, play music and talked real loud, this was EVERY NIGHT for 4 nights we had to deal with that, we didn't complaint to the hotel but we knew they couldn't do anything about it, there were scammers just a few doors down from the hotel so I honestly didn't feel safe. I would definitely would NOT come back there. I do suggest for people to choose another area. Stay away for this area!
This hotel is very well located in the city. Very clean and with a nice staff.
Nice hotel and location
Initially we had a problem with the room, that didn´t seem very clean, but especially the blackout curtain that simply fell down. We went to the reception and the night receptionist, Julia, was awesome and very professional and Immediatly solved the problem transfering us to a new - and better - room. The breakfast very good, and table area is nice, but the breakfast counter is too small, causing lines on rush hours.
Apartments are very, very small. Mattresses and pillows are bad. AC system is very good. Breakfast area is very small. Breakfast food are ok.
The restaurant next door is such a gem. Delicious Spanish food for cheap. The metro is across the street. Couldn’t be easier to get to and from the metro and local sites like the Prado. You can walk there if you like. Rooms are clean and have all the necessities.
Location is excellent. Staff is friendly, professional and helpful.Breakfast and price is average. Garage is fee based but very convenient.
Very small room and about nothing inside, not even drapes for the day, so the blinds had to be closed in order to avoid behind seen by the neighborhood. This is questionable for 200 euros per night.
Room too small, staff not polite, around property unsafe, transport inconvenience, less choice for breakfast, everything unclean, room also not provide cup, air dryer, instant coffee, hot pot, etc. only 2 coat hanger provided for 2 persons. Too many issues for this hotel.
The costumer service team just wonderful, very friendly, very helpful with the maps and locations I was asking , also calling a taxi when I was leaving. I’m very impressive with that team, I live and work in USA in a retail , I never had here the assistance I received in Ibis.
Nice location, clean & friendly staff. Breakfast very basic & bit too noisy location.
In general, it's OK but de facilities in the room it's no good!!
I liked how close the hotel was to the centre of Madrid. It's an easy 10-15 min walk to a lot of of the sights!
Great place with friendly staff.
Great location, friendly staff, and very clean.
Ok..
The hotel is in the perfect location in Madrid. Not more than 15min walking distance from anywhere you would like to go but also the subway is right outside. The restaurants to either side are top notch and the 24 grocery store at the corner is a lifesaver at 1am. Highly recommend this hotel and would gladly stay even if the rooms are on the small sides but that’s compared to what we get in the USA.
This room was like a college dorm room from 1975. Not even a secure door on the WC. Noisy. No room for luggage or to put clothes. Lack of minimal amenities. One of the worst experiences I’ve had in more than 40 years of international travel.
This is a budget ibis, so rooms are tiny, and breakfast is a bit pared down compared to a normal ibis. The beds are comfortable, and the food is good and fresh! The coffee machine is wonderful.
Comfortable bed
Al centro de Madrid, buena ubicacion ,supermercado casi al lado del hotel, lavandería automática a dos cuadras del hotel, tengan monedas con el cambio exacto...
Good location and comfortable bed. The only ask is for the bathroom towels to be bigger and to be provided with hand towels also.
