Easy walk to Ellerslie Racecourse. Close to Greenlane station for trains into Queen Street. Clean and tidy room, good bar & restaurant.
The hotel is in a lovely position, clean and friendly but the breakfast lets it down. I went for breakfast at 3 different times and every time it was all lukewarm at best. It’s well presented and cooked nicely but everything was nearly cold including the plates!!
Convenient location, comfortable room
I was there for a conference nearby. The Ibis was conveniently located. The rooms are on the small side but fine. The decor is outdated but the room was clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Dining and bar facilities were good. Staff were helpful and pleasant 😊
nothing special
The Ibis Hotel Ellersly is next to the motorway and which gives it an advantage over similar hotels further way. It is ideal for business travelers, but for anyone traveling through Auckland. The room was a reasonable size, with average bath room! but is it worth the high prize ? Despite the close proximity to the motorway not much noise was audible in the room
Amazing staff. The moment you walk into the hotel, you're greeted with warm and friendly faces. Extremely patient and confortable and clean hotel. The restaurant staff were also fantastic. We enjoyed our stay and would book again!
My room was tidy and comfortable, and the staff were really friendly and helpful!
They wok us up To move our car from AV station which wasn’t specified not to park ! It’s not ok at all the treat your guests like that
The room was very small but had everything I needed, including the ability to darken the room in the day so I could sleep when it suited me.
Great beds
We generally stay here. We were booked for three nights but unfortunately my wife rested positive for covid after our arrival. We had a choice offered to remain in our room without any services or access to hotel features or leave. We chose to leave and return home, a 7 hour drive. We were asked to remember check out needed to be by 11.00 and it 10.35 despite we had paid for our room until the 26th. Overall a bit disappointing
Great location
Great location ,easy to find, basic hotel room but all you need for one night stay.staff friendly
It’s a perfect space for me to relax and recover my energy after overseas trip
😊
The room had not been stocked with tea bags etc
It suits my needs, no cutting corners and nothing excessive or wasteful
Just what you need
Gluten free uncertainty but all else up to standar
I emailed way in advance to clarify the parking situation as we were driving up from Wellington and dietary requirements. Both attempts were unsuccessful for a straight answer and even on the day had to ask staff to explain how the parking worked. Also never got a straight answer about the food. I was told someone would ring me in my room and that didn't happen. I went down for breakfast and was just told there's a gluten free section, didn't anyone know rust. Pleased to see there was a gluten free toaster. I wanted to know if any of the other food like the eggs, bacon, fruit, yoghurt was gluten free, no answer. No one likes gluten free dry wheat biscuits, muesli and plain toast as their only options. On the second day there were oats in the gluten free muesli. Loved the fresh orange juice machine and my partner enjoyed the other offerings. The room was comfortable essentially the bed, I've stayed with ibis around the world and can always expect that same standard. Having to ask about gluten free options is normal but to ask over the phone 2 times before arriving and via email and with no clear answer is disappointing.
Ibis Ellerslie is a good motel, clean and not out-dated
The room and bathroom was extremely small no storage area to put luggage and bathroom essentials in the bathroom. I wouldn’t stay here longer than one night!
The staff were amazing, dinning options, food amazing. Very clean and welcoming. highly recommend to everyone.
..
The Staff are friendly and Professional, The Hotel is clean and comfortable. The dining experience was a let down with poorly delivered meals the Angus steak in the burger meal was tough an grisly which was replaced with a dish that was called a Katsu but was simply Crumbed Chicken Schnitzel on long grain rice and didn't resemble a Katsu in any way other than name. again the Staff were fantastic and could not give them enough credit. I would stay again as it is close to my offices but I will eat elsewhere
Good to stay if on your own
Stayed at the Novatel part of this hotel before (all the facilities are shared) so gave the IBIS a go. Cheaper. Was on my own. smaller rooms, bed very comfortable, clean, usual cheap type coffee & teas & little milks in the bar fridge, no mini bar. Can get room service food, but had dinner & breakfast in Restaurant. Bathroom is one of these pre-made things, a bit like a luxury yacht ensuite would be, completely functional apart from some problem with the hot/cold water in the hand basin tap. Only thing is the step up into the bathroom, on the 3rd time going there I remembered to lift my foot up & not stub my toe! Room quiet, looking towards the Horse Race Course area, not sure about rooms on the main road side. Had a block out pull down curtain, that sort of was OK but sun comes in around the edges. Also had some shade blinds, that need to be slightly shorter so they don’t tangle with things plugged into power outlet (designer error) & also makes bottom of blinds tatty. No power outlet beside bed so hard to charge your phone & have it beside you. Good selection of wine by the glass or bottle at both restaurant or bar (bar area very relaxing), excellent buffet breakfast & enjoyed dinner, perfectly cook fillet steak exactly medium rare as requested. Worse thing are the restaurant seats, base on a sports car angle, the back like a church pew, the base sagging so your ham strings on the frame. The very helpfully got a chair from the bar. Will stay again at IBIS if on my own.
I stayed in Ibis and felt more like Novotel. The hotel was new and spacious with great restaurants, clean and modern rooms including public facilities. The surrounding suburbs are safe. Highly recommended in regards to costs
As I looked out of my room window I saw a outside/patio umbrella on the roof.
Nothing further
Value
Good location , great value
All good
Yes all good thanks
Good value stay with excellent restaurant
Great option for the price but hate the hallway colours, just shocking. Rooms brilliant, staff awesome but decor a shame
our stay here was very pleasant the counter staff were very helpful only thing i have to mention is our towels were not replaced and our tea and coffee were not replenished. when i informed your counter staff everything was taken care of ASAP so please pass on our thanks to your staff for making this an awesome place to stay Regards Kire Tahere
Budget hotel but excellent value for overnight stay when you just need a bed rather than an “experience”. Will visit again!
We had a lovely one night stay at Ibis. We attended a 21st birthday at Elleslie Racecourse so was very convenient. For one night we paid an appropriate amount for the room we had. It was very small but for one nights stay it was fine, the room was clean but very small. We had a room next to the gym so the only noise we heard was the opening and closing of the gym door. Otherwise a very pleasant stay. The bar was nice as well.
A very nice hotel to stay,at when a family member was being admitted,to Ascot Hospital
Nice, clean, great amenities, this was our second stay here
I felt safe staff very nice compact clean room
Clean and tidy room and bathroom (although a pungent odor was coming front he sink gutter). Limited parking spots available.
Overall really good!! Found last occupants socks, slippers and wrist brace under bed (whilst looking for my shoe) but other than that was clean, comfortable and great service. Thankyou
Was not very happy that I had to pay an extra $20 for one nights parking. I could not book directly with the hotel. My bed was very comfortable, but my son's bed was the exact opposite and he was in a different room.
Easy access to motorway
First time stay @ ibis Ellerslie and really enjoyed it👍 Staff were super friendly and helpful with my questions, bar had the rugby on projector🎥and there was no need to leave the building. Room was clean, comfortable and of suffient size.
This property was convenient to the area I need to access, close to the major shopping malls, very accessable to nearby freeways made it convenient to its location. The staff were very helpful, friendly across the whole spectrum of the of Ibis business. It was a pleasure staying there and I would recommend to any of my friends.
Only ever stayed 1 night but it’s a great choice, even better if you get the breakfast option. 4 minute walk to the train station. Clean and comfy bed, easy check in and relaxed stay.
Was adequate to purpose, bar area was nice, rooms ok, bed was super comfortable. Shower was dirty around the sink, unsure why but looked blocked
👍
Bathroom could be a bit bigger
Will not stay at Ibis again
Good check in experience. Room had cockroaches walking up the wall. The door to the bathroom didn't close properly. Will not stay at Ibis again. Had to pay for parking.
Easy access & very secure. Good location to all regions of Auckland. Good parking available. Friendly staff.
The bar and restaurant staff are very helpful and friendly. Service impeccable. Room very small though and shower was a tardis.

Excellent
Lovely friendly and efficient staff, dinner and breakfast were amazing, room was clean and comfortable.
The car parking arrangement was not very good ... sometimes there was parking but other times it was a short walk away to an overflow car park. Yes there was always a parking spot available but not always conveniently located.
Staff were fabulous - couldn't fault them. Some issues with equipment in room.
Our flight was delayed. We didn’t get to our accommodation until 1am. The staff at the desk was very kind and helpful. They have 24hour staffing so checking in after hours was not a problem. It was quiet inside and easy to get an uber into the city the next day.
Was pleasantly surprised and very happy to have stayrd. Having stayed at a couple of Auckland Hotels and we were very happy. Reception were clear with service. Great.
Like; Staff were friendly and it was tidy. Dislike: expensive meals - didn't want to take car to get a meal due to the gates - no food places in walking distance.
Great central location, so good to have parking and a restaurant on site. Lovely room, friendly staff, thank you!!
Highly recommend for a cheaper stay
Centrally located. Staff superb. The room was better than normal Ibis standard- roomy and scrupulously clean. But omg please paint the hallways light and bright. They are so dark and cold and unwelcoming. Restaurant and bar very good.
Very small room, but very comfortable bed. Their food is not good and expensive. Cocktails are awesome though. People were super nice. No microwave in the room which would’ve helped with leftovers. Small tv, could’ve been a bit bigger. All in all though I would recommend it if you get a good deal.
I liked the 24/7 vending machine. Location is across the road from the train station. Prime location for public transfer use
Very disappointed stay - IBIS should not be promoting an EV charger when they have just one and they have no working reservation system. I made contact a day prior to arrival to confirm availability of the EV charger, no reply received. On the day of arrival I sent a follow up message, again no response. Upon arrival I found the sole EV charger they have was occupied for the night. I wouldn’t stay again due to their poor communication and process around the EV charger. I would suggest IBIS install more EV chargers and put a proper reservation in place, in addition to improving communication with their guests.
Great location. Easy access to Ellerslie racecourse which is why I was staying there.
Perfect
Had a lovely dinner, especially enjoyed our desserts. Room was comfortable for a short stay. Front desk staff friendly and I liked the room got serviced and clean linen daily. Only boo-boo was our check out was at 11 and at 9 a cleaning lady opened our door and we were not decent. Lucky the bathroom door was open so she wouldn't have seen much if anything.
The room way too small. Needed to scan wall to get menu? Really. Who can be bothered to do that. Just a crammed in bed, tv and toilet facilities, nothing else. Way over charged for poor product.
Everything thing about the property was what I expected
The staff was efficient and attentive.Thank you
Small room overpriced table to put your coffee jug on, lack of PowerPoints, would not book it again, single beds to soft, dirty towels.
Convenient central location and a bonus to have parking. Friendly staff and a lovely clean room, plus very reasonable price.
Small unit but clean and tidy.
We enjoyed our stay. This is a great location for going to Mt Smart Stadium and the staff were very helpful with directions etc...
Close to amenities and noise was minimal, despite being close to the motorway and main road.
The rooms were very modern and comfortable. The food at the restaurant was unbelievably well made and the breakfast selection in the morning is nothing like any where else ive been yet!!! 5 stars all the way
December Stay
They need to have a hard copy Hotel Compendium in the room as sometimes phone cannot scan. Had a problem with Room Service but was swiftly dealt with by Duty Managers - thks much appreciated comp breakfast and drink to compensate 😀 Will continue to stay with Ibis -
Enjoyed the very short stay. Was offered a free late checkout which was appreciated after pur long flight.
Everything was great but the bathroom was clean but had an unpleasant odour
The staff a fantastic 👏
Very very small rooms. Room felt like a jail cell. Bathrooms are weird, enclosed "pod" or "Capsule" like units. Toilet and shower are basically sharing the same floor space, very strange setup. Glad i didn't pay for this room, or I would have checked out.
Location so handy to the Southern motorway. Room was tight but had everything we needed. Lovely breakfast area.
good
Nice
Very comfortable, friendly staff, highly recommended
very narrow parking spaces and not enough parking spot we had to park outside of the hotel parikngs
Nice comfortable king size bed. Great shower.
Nice rooms very helpful staff.
Comfortable bed, good food options and convenient parking close to the city
Clear
Enjoyable stay. Only downside was asking for more toilet paper at 8am and on returning at 4pm had to go and ask again after room had been serviced. But nice friendly helpful staff
Enjoyed our stay clean tidy and helpful
Possibly the only downside is the traffic noise from Green Lane from early, otherwise good place to stay
Good basic accommodation
Great stay! Great staff! Great vibe
Bathroom sink blocked and someone’s hair was left on the wall of the shower. Clearly not cleaned properly.
Very friendly staff, lovely bar area to watch some sport, nice and tidy.
Mixed bag
Your dates are wrong - I checked in on 5 and out on 7 August. Friendly welcome. Could have used some advice about how to get in and out of the car park at the beginning. Desk in room has rough patches right where my wrist rested for typing on my laptop.Be nice to smooth it out for next guests. Bedside power points or USB ports would be good. There were only two on the desk which made it hard for charging devices by the bed.Using the desk plugs prevented the curtains from closing properly. TV remote did not work and there were no manual buttons on the TV to turn on/off and change channels. The lift was out of action but no one had put a sign near it on the 1st or 2nd floor telling us how to access the Novotel lift. I spent far too long walking up and down the corridor before walking back down to reception for them to express surprise there was no sign on the laundry room door telling guests to use that as access. By the time I left on Monday there was still no sign. How hard is this to print out and stick up? The internet was down and again I had to call reception for them to say it's faulty and to use another log in method. Why could this not have been told at check in? Kids running around the bar were noisy. It's a shame their playground is in an adult's area.
We had a comfortable stay, staff was really helpful, just found staff in the buffet section bit rude and unpleasant but the girl in the bar who served us( from Fiji ) Name starts from M , forgot her name made our evening worth staying . She was so pleasant and hospitable. Rest everything was great. We had comfortable stay.will be back.

Room was average, app to order room service would not connect . Meal was cold when it did arrive. One dispenser for face body and hair wash - how miserly and low class. In the morning , at 10.30 the restaurant was already closed even just for coffee - which was available only in the bar that was understaffed - and served in a take a way cup - are you kidding? The hotel was fully booked and I am left with the impression management cut corners and skimp on what the marketing communications offer.
