Hotel location is excellent near restaurants and shops.
I like the location of the hotel. It’s near bus station, and near major tourist attractions.
Hot Madrid
Stay was good close to Central Madrid easy to get transport to city , Latina metro is the closest station . Also buses to central . Hotel was nice but outdated The room triple was small in compare to the price . But Thank you to Oscar at reception helping us with the information and tours . Location is nice but mostly locals . Lots of shops and bars .
A
Bed bugs galore
Two single beds pushed together to make a "double" but it didnt work and easliy slip apart making it very uncomfortable. Then to wake up with bed bug bites!! Had to park at the bottom of the hill and haul luggage upwards.
the location is perfect to the places we wanted to visit the hotel is old needs improvement with the cleanliness . needs to provide toiletries
A/C doesn’t work, and they shut off early morning.
HRC was within walking distance to the Cathedral, Palacio Royal, and Plaza Mayor. WiFi connectivity only by the foyer and not in the bedroom. Staff was ok, a bit more formal. The soap dispenser in the shower was broken and no repair was done despite letting the front desk know about it.
Beds are not comfortable. Old property
Nice little 3 star hotel, what you pay it is what you get , clean room, confortable sheets and towels , close to the cathedral and Royal Palace, I really recommend
Property was fine but the location wasn’t great. It was a bit noisy. The bed was also not very comfortable.
Wonderful!
A little old and a bit pricey for the size but central to everything. Great location. Friendly staff. Overall great stay!!
Excelente and very convenient place. Night life around in La Latina and walkable to mayor atraction
Madrid
Well located
Not what I expected from a supposed 3 star hotel.
A great hotel close to main tourist sites, in the center of Madrid. The hotel staff were very kind and helped us meet all our needs. The room we got may need some upkeep maintenance, but it was not too bad. Noticed a water leak on the last day of our stay and reported it. We had a great experience overall!
Fit for tourist purposes.
Comfortable hotel with all amenities fit for purpose and hotel’s standard. Located at the edge of the city centre with close proximity to actually everything in historic centre. It would make 5 stars in my review if the shower head and the wall in the shower would receive an uplift. I especially liked towels, so soft!
Excellent clean ideal location
This was ok. Close to the places i wanted to go.
We had the worst experience The door lock didn’t work, there was no shampoo , the a/c didn’t work and the windows were shot. The staff was extremely rude. They made us wait close to an hour for toilet paper and were upset every time they had to open the lobby door. I would not recommend this place The only good thing is the location
A/C was not working.
Friendly and helpful staff. Good, basic hotel. We missed having a bar or cafe where you could get a drink.
Great location, 6-10 minutes walking distance to Catedral de la Almudena and Royal Palace, 25 minutes walk to National Meseum of Prado, and we walked 19 minutes to Puerta Del Sol and did the New Year countdown. There is a grocery supermarket Dia is just next block at which you may get what you need for breakfast (pastry, coffee, fruits etc); the room is clean and Spacey - guess the triple room (there are 3 of us) is bigger; the reception is 24 hours and during late afternoon and evening the front door is closed and you need to buzz in, this makes us feel safe; the staffs are friendly, they answered all of our questions; there is a local restaurant (name is Los Angeles, - not related to America at all), the foods are very good, the seafood rice is a must-try
HRC is a great place to stay during a short, break in Madrid. Room was compact but clean, modern and adequatey equipped. It's located in a quiet side street within easy walking distance of most of central Madrid. Very good value.
This hotel is very poor. I feel the rooms advertised were certainly not what I received. The room wasn’t nice, had mould all around the shower and wallpaper flaking off. One of the electrical sockets had the plate off! Would never return or recommend
In the heart of Madrid.
Great location. Did I mention it is a great location? Walking distance to the royal palace and other attractions. And close to the latina district. Many restaurants and shopping close by and two self-serve laundries' in walking distance. Friendly staff (the signoria that runs the cafe is marvelous) and dailey housekeeping. It is an older property so the sound proofing is not the best but everyone quiets down by 2300 so our sleep was not interrupted. Enjoy your stay
The staff hailed a taxi for us quickly which is much appreciated given it's difficult to get a taxi or Uber during morning rush hours
Everything was great, close to all the attractions. The staff is friendly. but the bed would like to be better.
Great and helpful staff. Reasonable and clean rooms. Walkable to cathedral, palace, and other places.
We spent there only one night. The staff was very polite and professional. The room was little but comfortable, as well as the bathroom. It was easy to move using the bus only few steps from the Hotel door.
Great, quiet and clean. Lots of things to do and see within walkable distance is also a major plus.
Location is good.
Staff services polite and respectful.
The hotel is small but it is an a good area, I like the housekeeping every day. The area is safe quiet, many restaurants around it and all the attractions are very close. I will stay there next time.
Central to most of the tourist attractions.
The rooms are very small and the property can do with an upgrade of the rooms. I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it
Nice hotel. The only downside, bad wifi connection and it is unsecured!
Very secure hotel. We got room on top floor with a big terrace and enjoyed view of Madrid rooftops.
The hotel is at walking distance to Puerta Del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real, Gran Vía y El Rastro (5-15 minutes). All the staff were very pleasant. I plan to stay there in my next trip!
Great location in Madrid for getting to some of the major tourist attractions. Close enough to some tapas bars and the location is nice and quiet.
The area around
Me and my wife had the worst experience and the worst stay ever at HRC hotel I wish I knew more about this earlier before payment. But we didn't pay much attention because we wanted a place near the city center and that was our big mistake choosing this hotel, anyway we had some surprises when we got there, We are in 2023 I've traveled a lot in my life but i have never been told or seen a hotel having central heating, while the rooms are cold you have to wait until its 5 pm so they turn the heating on,. The water in the shower was barely hot. The only kind person was cleaning staff. I went through this bad experience and I hope no one else goes through this.
Amazing
There was a dirty sock in the closet and the receptionist and the housekeeper attitudes were not pleasant about this matter.
Overall poor
The hotel was nice staff friendly however no restaurant apart from small room for breakfast which was minimal very little choice there was no bar or room for you to relax in overall very poor. You had to walk to the bars and restaurants took around 5 minutes.
"Meh" hotel
Overpriced for what you get. Nothing special. Just meh.
The area is local and perfect. Close to the plaza mayor and food is good too. The towels need to be changed because they are yellowish. The staff is a bit rude, but other than that perfect location.
Property was old. One of the staff was rude. Breakfast was average. Carpet in the hotel had a strong sweet odor. Room for three was really cramped
The hotel was ideally situated for seeing all the sights. Great for tapas bars and cafe's and the hop on hop off bus. More literature in English on what to see and do would have been helpful and a map in english would have been more useful. Overall it suited our needs for convenience and location. Would stay there again
Great location
We really liked the close proximity to all the places we wanted to visit in Madrid. All could be reached by walking.
Nice staff, shame they have trouble speaking languages other than Spanish, but they are very helpful. Distance to centre and all main attractions was great. Could all be done on foot.
I didn't like the bed. It's too low and gave me back pain, the TV is too small can barely see. The funiture is old and outdated
Room was clean I didn't like the air conditioner, it's a common system between all rooms and has to be activated by staff
Chabre minuscule ,pas d' air climatise 5 nuits sans changer le lit
I love this hotel. The staff were really nice and helpful
Area of location is a hidden gem where you can enjoy Madrid with all that this city has to offer and away from only “for tourists” scenarios. Highly recommended.
Perfect location, great price, nice service. Very clean, secure, we woke up to taste the breakfast taht means the acoustic on the building is good.
Perfect location. Was able to check in hours early and it was worth it. Very friendly.
Good staff, good location. Air-conditioning a real problem.
good location, when I red other reviews I expected something much much worst. It was nice hotel, I would stay there again. I didn't like very thin walls between rooms - you can hear absolutely everything from your neighbors.
The pros : nice view if you got the room with balcony, staff are very hepfiul, and it is close to major restaurant and bars as well as in Plaza major and Mercado de San Miguel. The cons are rooms have not their own individual air-condition and our room is dusty (under the bed and curtain) .
Perfect, will return next trip
Great location , good sized clean rooms - helpful reception staff and the abortive store luggage securely on last day
Too small for comfort
We did not stay the night. The room was very small, the bed inadequate for 2 people. There were no alternative accommodations available so we went to another hotel.
Close to the center. Close to the tapas and other eating and shopping places. Carlos was very kind and helpful professional staff with lots of smile.
ood hotel, great location.
Great location, nice room, comfortable, friendly service.
Pros: Held our luggage until we checked in, there is a water dispenser and computer in the lobby free to use. Clean rooms/lobby. Cons: When you book, they never share what the check in time is so when you get there it ends up being 3pm. Very small room for the price you are paying! The toilet paper was placed in a very awkward area and it was very hard to reach since it is behind you rather than in front of you or to the side of you. Now for why im actually taking the time to write this review besides all the above because it was poor customer service. We stayed 3 nights in this hotel and didnt ask for any room service for all 3 days....nice right?!?! Wrong. I went dowstairs to the front desk on the second and third day to obtain coffee one day and milk packets the next day for the coffee. Both times, it seemed like i was bothering them and they were questioning why i needed more when room service should have given me some. I tried to explain that we arent doing room service and that didnt seem to register somehow. The lady gave me two packets of instant coffee. The man looked around and said he didnt have milk lol. This is a hotel and you dont have the basics? Thank God i didnt ask for something more important.
the breakfast was very poor and the room very small
Close to royal palace and groceries store. Sinking beds are tough on our backs.
Hotel is located in a nice area in Madrid! No microwave, no ice, no extra toiletries. Carlos at the front desk was great, kind and informative. New staff in front desk couldn’t provide ice, wine opener, extra towels or bathroom tissue.
Leaking bathroom and got lost on the way there!
Our stay was okay. Not a lot going on in that area. Hotel was somewhat comfortable. Bathroom was a little spacious but it was leaking water out from the tub to the floor and even out to the hallway although the shower curtain and door was closed! Good thing we only stayed 1 night there, otherwise it will be another problem to have to move to the other room and deal with this matter. The other problem was when I clicked on the hotel's address from this Hotels app, it took us to totally different place and we were about 15 km away! We have to go back to take 2 different lines of Metro and manually search the hotel name on Google maps and finally took us to the right place.
located close to all, staff members very nice, clean and safe
HRC is spotless. Cant fault it. And its so close to all the tourist spots. All walking distance fantastic. And there are a few shops and markets on the door step. And HRC was very good value. And the star of the show was a staff member called SISI he really made our stay there superd. Fantastic member of staff 🤗 a credit to the hotel. The only think that would have made it gold star if there was tea and coffee making facilities. Hopefully next time?
The hotel's location was very convenient; near public transport and the La Latina neighborhood which is always hopping after 9:30pm. MOST of the staff was friendly EXCEPT for the man who checked me in. In my view, he is not suited for the hospitality industry. However, i did notice him yucking it up with other guests, so maybe he just has an issue with Americans. The housekeeping staff was attentive and flexible. Even though I kept weird hours, my room was always made up each day. This is a good value property as it was relatively inexpensive. HOWEVER: the bed was not comfortable and slid across the floor when I tried to sit up in bed to read / use laptop. The linens are cheapo and the pillows leave much to be desired. The room is also very small. The "desk" that the TV sits atop is not high enough to get my legs under it while sitting int he provided chair, so I had to move the TV to the other side of the desk and keep my chair far enough away from the desk so as not to bang /scrap my thighs/kneecaps. OVERALL: worth it for the cheap price and good location, just don't expect a Hilton.
Nothing fancy - but clean
Close to the Central District (Plaza Mayor); Clean room. Cute café. Great Price. Room was small (which was okay) but no lamp by chair (only overhead light or lamp above bed which made reading by one person impossible if 2nd person in bed) and uncomfortable mattress. Lots of noise from other rooms (squeaky bed above us) and loud guests. Hotel says it has free wifi but signal so weak it never really worked.
The set-up for the Wi-Fi is not well explained by the people from reception.
Our experience in HRC.
This hotel has a very good location. It is clean and comfortable. The staff is very nice and helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the hotel.
Good location, nice and clean with friendly staff. The only
HRC Hotel
Great location. Reasonable rate.
June 2019
Second time at this hotel. First time in 2016 with my husband and this time with my daughter. Excellent location, friendly staff and definitely worth the extra few quid for a balcony room. Absolutely would go again! Well done HRC!
Old place nicely cleaned but lack of other amenities. Nice roof garden for taking the sun. Close to tour bus route and place. Expensive
Great location for sightseeing on foot. Breakfast lovely, but don’t expect English style. Some English spoken. There is a bar next door at night in the street side which can be a bit noisy if your an early sleeper. Otherwise it’s a great little hotel.
It really was not a pleasant night in this place. The smell of dust was unbearable, also the AC was disconnected at 3:00 am and never more it was turned on. That night we could not sleep because of the heat and the smell of old in the room. Not recommended.
Great Location
Great location close to the royal palace and within walking distance of many attractions!
scandalously expensive for what it offers
Need renovation. Good location. Close to subway restaurants historical places.
Convenient... close to everything ..friendly courteous staff
Excellent location, clean and tidy, friendly helpful staff, good value hotel. Noise from other guests carried through walls, no kettle/drinks facilities in rooms, no bar in hotel, but many close by. Coffee Shop disorganised, slow service and limited menu
Visit Madrid!!!
For the price, in a better time of year to visit, the Hotel was Fine. There are days of walkable places to visit. Cabs are fast and inexpensive; $10.00 to the Prado. A food store down the block. Breakfast is slightly pricy and limited but this is Europe, coffee drinkers beware! Staff knowledgeable. You can get a bus map at the info building in Plaza del Callao. Enjoy.
Overall, this is not a bad property, BUT it is not what I expected based on the listing description or the official Spanish hotel three-star rating. One example is that the customer cannot turn on (or off) the A/C in the room; neither are there any fans available. Other hotels with the three-star rating in Madid have been much nicer. The location is fairly good but a bit removed from the Center of the Madid. The Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace are relatively close. Barrio La Latina offers numerous bars and a fine Museo de San Isidro that describes Madrid's prehistory and development.
Great stayed
Lovely stay, well located, good service , is clean, room and baths is quite big.... really liked it!
We loved the location. Great tapas bars nearby.
We had a great comfortable stay at the HRC hotel. The staff at the desk were extremely helpful, the location was excellent being only a ten minute walk to the palacio real and five mins to a local supermarket and to the city bus tour stop. The beds were large and comfortable and the rooms were extremely clean. The only thing missing was a kettle as a basic room amenity for tea/coffee. We would happily stay here again. Thanks again!
Clean room. Good shower and hot water and efficient heating. One of the receptionists was unfriendly but other three we saw were nice.
Comfortable rooms and efficient staff. Price fair. Location is excellent, away from the noise of the busiest parts of the city, but still within easy striking distance.
Small room but clean, little dated but everything you need. Great location for a city break and there was parking
Reasonable price and good location
Good location, reasonable price. Staff are friendly and helpful. Worth every single penny.
