Big rooms, and they give you your deposit the same day as checkout

I'm on a bit of tour looking at all the low-priced rooms in the area. This one would have been at least good despite the hard-used property but when I walked into the room the heat was off as usual, and the room was absolutely freezing. I also saw the door was definitely not closing well or sealing either. I turned on the heater and saw the last user had set the thermostat as far as it would go (86f). This wasn't a good sign at all. The walls are, I think cinder block and so once they are cold they stay that way. There is a big glass floor to ceiling window in every room which also doesn't help. Two hours later I actually went out to get my small heater from my storage and bring it back to heat the room, the rooms own heater was barely functioning. This would be a better room in spring but in the dead of winter it was definitely a bad plan. I wonder if the A/C works any better than the heaters? Beware. On the pro sound: The TV worked and had a good selection of channels. The sheets were clean, enough covers, no bedbugs and the room was clean. There was an industrial guest laundry washer and dryer, inexpensive and clean. You must show up with quarters and detergent, nothing was vended. The bathroom was OK but there was just tub with no slip-preventive so if you are a shower person be careful.

Not fancy but no complaints

Nothing fancy but a comfort stay. Seems like it was a pretty quiet night there and looking at the parking lot it seemed like the cars were kind of nicely spaced out so I think they spaced the rooms out so you didn't really have another person right on top of you thus not noisy. The heating worked & the shower was hot, those are two main things for me.

The room was very clean. We’ve stayed here multiple times never had issues. The check-in was very easy. The person behind the desk was very friendly.

It’s an older property but very clean and nice for the price

Gave me an early check in when I had cancer and a broken back in the staff could not have been nicer very Art Deco 60s motive but very chill and cool. Super nice people

I've stayed at a few HoJos before, so I didn't think it was this bad. First, they had NO blankets available for guests, each bed had 2 flat sheets on top and that was all I was able to get. 2 morning in a row the staff ignored the "sleeping/do not disturb" signs by banging on the door and even attempting to enter the room when I didn't answer. I was in town working overnight hours and this ruined my sleep time during the day. Lastly, when I went by the breakfast room for a snack. There was a mouse just walking around eating crumbs from the floor and even mouse droppings on the counter tops near the cereal.

This property was dirty they gave me a smoked room . The walls was dirty. I wouldn’t let my dog stay in there

Pleasant Bargain

pleasantly surprised by this bargain motel! Some upgrades since my last stay a few years back. nice Asian fusion restaurant in the front. the room was a bit dated but clean with a newish bed, comfy pillows and nice new sheets , blankets, towels; i will stay again if needed.

This place was a dump room smelled and were just run down. Not what was shown on website did not stay lost my money and no refund and stayed someplace else.

Toilet not working I complained from the beginning they told me that plumber wasn’t working on a full house all rooms were occupied, next morning I went to complain again finally a guy came but toilet didn’t work

Not much to say. They allow smoking, and 99.9% of hotels don’t. There’s no other reason to stay there.

Nice motel. Clean, but dated. Tub does not hold water. Coffee maker does not work and they did not have a replacement.

The carpets smell bad, too much humidity in the room smells bad, the room is clean, restaurants and gas station is near the hotel, many drug addicts in the area

It was good - I left days inn to stay there the only issue is someone walked in to my room without knocking to clean without even us checking. Out so I’m unhappy about that it was messed up and took away our privacy!

I didn’t realize I had booked a smoking room, which I did not want. The check-in clerk switched us over to a non-smoking before I even had a chance to ask. Excellent customer service.

Insulting check-in and overstepping bounds.

When I first checked in, the person at the counter kept repeating "sir, you have to understand, no guests are permitted." 4 times she said that. As if to ensure I was not going to have hire any prostitutes or go pick random women up for a fling. If this was a private b&b, I would expect those kinds of rules but a Howard Johnson? I found her insistence to be quite insulting and it isn't anyone's business why I'm here I in town. I'm here for a medical procedure the next day but, again, that's no one's business but my own. The room was stifling hot when I first got in here. The remote for the TV doesn't work. It is clean and it got cool once the AC had been on for an hour or so.

The front desk barely spoke English so it was tough. He ran my credit card at least 20 times and said it's a bad card which wasn't true because I he just used that same card an hour prior to pay for the room online. He wanted another card and I said I don't have one obviously the card readers bad and he laughed and said ok.

Worn out hotel in much need of updating. Made to come back after coming 2 hrs early, instead of allowing me to check in because they were busy cleaning rooms. Hotel receptionist was short, not friendly and outgoing. Mant areas in need of improvement.

Need to clean the rooms better and if you put someone in a room that doesn’t smoke make sure the room doesn’t smell like smoke.

People were nice and kind. So how do you tell the people that run the hotel the toilets Don't flush. The sinks don't drain. But the place was ok. No low class

The room was humid so the carpet and towels were damp the entire stay. The bathroom toilet needs to have the chain fixed as it would run if u didn’t fix it yourself. The tub needs to either have a mat or rough strips put in so you don’t slip. I stayed at this hotel in the past they had continental breakfast. Now all they have is coffee, juice, bread for toast and cereal. They used to have waffles, hard boiled eggs, danish and bagels. Not sure what changed so I won’t be going back in the future. Needs to be updated. The overall stay was ok

Allows smoking

Not a bad place, but not a nice place either. The overall grounds look run down and unkept. It’s one of the few hotels around that allows smoking.

Property under construction but rooms that were renovated were clean, new carpets, furniture, fixtures. Lobby very small. Location of hotel in poorer section of town with wandering residents at night.

Good economy stay

Not much to look at outside, but the room was spacious and clean. Ask for a room in back it was very quiet. Cheapest room I could find in the area. Pool was very nice.

Just Old and musty never had an upgrade since it was built the water from the AC above would drip down from upstairs when you walk out of the room and 1/2 of the rooms are NOT IN USE! boarded up..

Very dated pictures are so photoshopped it’s not funny really can’t believe Howard Johnson has ther name on this Hotel not to mention flying ants all over the room have several bites on me and my wife horrible stay

Decent overnight stay

We stayed overnight during a recent road trip. Conveniently located near I 87 and I 90. It's an older property. The carpet was tired but the room was clean. Retro decor. Basic continental breakfast, cereal, toast, coffee and juice. Value priced. Good for a short overnight stay.

They charge a 100 $ to a credit card in case of damage I have been going there every other week for a year ! It’s just a pain to have to check and make sure I wasn’t charged the fee “on accident “ as I have been charged before

Had some hair in the bed. Slept in the other one. A mildew smell and a bit of a sketchy location. A couple doods out front smoking blunts was a nice welcome.

Filthy, dirty room. Smelled AWFUL!.A/C didn’t work. Small bugs that made us itch in the room. Booked the room on hotels.com and was NOT told there was a $100 deposit on the website. They wouldn’t let us put the deposit in cash, made us put it on out card. Will never stay again

Decent price decent performance

Really run down, dirty, smelled like mold, leaking ceilings in hallways. Not good.

While it is an older property it was well equipped and clean. Room was a good size, beds and pillows were comfortable. I would stay here again.

Its a $80 room. You get what you expect. Nothing special, but was clean and smelled alright, except the hint of cigarette in the none smoking room.

The woman at the front desk tried to charge us more money because my nine-year-old daughter had two friends with her and she said only two people could swim in the pool. I asked her what was the problem with my daughter and her two friends using the pool since we had paid for a room. She said we needed to pay $30-$40 extra per person or rent a whole other room. There was no need for any of this since there was no one in the pool area at all. It’s not like we would be overcrowding the pool. These people advertise that they have a pool and then want you to pay extra to use it. The hottest day of the year my air conditioning at my house was not working so I decided to rent a room with air-conditioning and a pool for my daughter and her friends to swim. 39-year-old girls was a problem for this place. I would not recommend at all.

Not what we would expect from a Wyndham property. We did not stay the second n8ght(would not have stayed at all except nothing else was available so we could avoid staying the first night of our booking).Photos onlime are misleading and obviously retouched. Sketchy and dated. Carpet in room old and needs replacing bathroom not great

Very dirty room

Front desk staff were very nice and sweet. I don't know if it was just my room, but it was dirty lots of dust, hair in the corner behind the toilet. Bathroom floor was very dirty and there were holes in the carpets. Bad smell lingered the whole time we were there.

Hotel under restoration I hope so the listed price is 2x higher than what should be charged. Didn’t know smoking rooms are still a thing. Carpet should be changed. Very limited breakfast bar. Hotel has potential after renovation

The employees at the front office were very welcoming and friendly upon check in and check out however, that was not enough to get me to stay there again! The photos of the hotel are outdated. The room had an unpleasant smell to it even as a non-smoking room. The air conditioner kept turning on and off on its own regardless of it being on high cool and not auto cool which you would expect it to turn off. The bathroom sink was clogged. The toilet was loose so sitting on it made a very loud noise. The floor, coffee machine, ice bucket and shower all appeared dirty and that they could’ve been much better cleaned/wiped down. Upon leaving/checking out of the room, one of the housekeeping staff quite literally asked for a tip, after handing them a cash tip they then asked for a second tip for the second housekeeper. They are not even cleaning the room properly so what is the point of a tip? The free light breakfast that was included consisted of raisin bran or frosted flakes cereal or toast with butter. There was coffee, tea, apple juice, orange juice and milk available. Very unimpressed overall. The king size bed was comfortable though!

The young guy at the reception area was attentive and very welcoming. Good location but there is an annexed abandoned building on the back. Clean rooms, beds are comfortable. For breakfast is only coffee, cereal and juice, nothing else.

Wonderful!

The room was beautiful and clean. The fridge froze everything inside and stuff out in the freezer froze to the inside of it. The toilet also sounded like it was dripping all night so we had to keep the door closed. Otherwise perfect spot. No traffic sounds from our room even when outside.

We came up one night for our son’s soccer tournament. We literally arrived and went to sleep, woke up early and left. A quick turnaround. The room was clean and comfortable and the man at the front desk was accommodating. We didn’t have any bath towels in the bathroom — perhaps an oversight by housekeeping. I went to the front desk and he was surprised and apologetic. Overall, the hotel was a good value for the purpose it served. I particularly like the old-school, mid-century Howard Johnson’s vibe.

On the website they said, pool and breakfast, the pool it outside and you can’t use it because it winter, breakfast is coffee and cereals literally, but, they still charge you for all that advertising, I’m not recommending that place

The hotel felt unsafe and was extremely filthy, with no trash bins provided in the room or bathroom. We only managed to stay for a couple of hours as the conditions were unbearable.

For the price this hotel exceeded my expectations.

Disgusting, finger nail clippings on floor, dust and bug carcasses, light above bathroom sink encrusted with funk of some sort. Would not recommend this, you can see daylight under door, poor maintenance didnt feel comfortable even to shower due to unclean conditions of place.

Sheets were dirty, had some type of food spilled on them. Restaurant closed and whatever little breakfast they had wasn't available until 7am

Rundown and smelled

It was very run down and smelled like pot. The heat set to 90 and was still cold. Remote barely worked and the staff was rude.

Blood, really?

I will never book this location for my crew again, there was blood on the bedsheet.

I would say the bus customer service that ever had very friendly staff the room was clean
