Lovely hotel in a great position on the Cromwell Road. Staff are great. Easy walking distance to many tourist attractions, museums, Royal Albert Hall, Knightsbridge and more. Highly recommended. This was our second stay at this hotel.
Very friendly staff, well appointed, if a little small, rooms. Modern boutique hotel in a good location.
A lovely hotel, close to Kensington and Knightsbridge. Excellent service from the reception team, a lovely bar, and our room was perfect.
Our shower didn’t properly drain for every day of our stay until the last day when we left. Maintenance fixed it once but it somehow got worse. The second time it was fixed it finally worked but we left the next morning. We stood in a pool of our dirt every other time we showered. Some of the staff were very nice. The lobby area was comfortable for our party to sit and hang out in. It’s walking distance to the tube.
very small room, horrible view from window ( no view ), the floor is not straight....etc....
Perfect from checking in and been upgraded to a terrace room, very attentive staff, From reception to door man Will definitely return Thank you
Lovely Hotel
Lovely hotel with a good size room (for London standards). Close to trains, shops and restaurants, a good place to visit Kensington. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Beds super comfortable.
Very nice
Friendly and efficient
Very friendly and efficient. They upgraded our room from one with a double bed to one with a kingsize. Only because our room wasn't ready and we had arrived early
The best London Hotel of all time
We arrived early to the hotel, we were given rooms before checkin time. The concierge was wonderful. The rooms were great. The shower pressure and temperature were perfect. The pillow were so so. But the bed and comforter were pleasant. I want to recognize Albino for making our breakfast spectacular every morning. He went above and beyond to make sure our breakfast was to our satisfaction and that was the most important start of our day. We will definitely only come back to this hotel. Walking distance to Earl’s Point to get the picadilly and district lines. Great restaurants and bars nearby, namely Kensington Arms, which had great service and food as well.
Very friendly staff, the virgin experience day afternoon charcuterie with wine was lovely & the overnight stay was great too. We booked the small double which was tiny but had a comfortable bed & the shower was good so that’s all we really needed for our stay overnight in London
Rooms are very small but otherwise nice
Lovely stay.
Friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Clean and beautiful room. Easy to walk and also to catch the underground. We would love to stay here again.
Such a great experience at Xenia! The staff were so accommodating and the hotel was very clean. The area and proximity to the tube was great. I will be back when I return to London!
Tiny hot room
Great stay at Xenia! Staff is wonderful as is the breakfast. Convenient located near a central Tube stop. Neighborhood is also very walkable with lots of dining options. I hope to go back Soon!
The staff is amazing. Albino is a fantastic host. One of my favorite hotels.
Excellent location, staff, rooms and food!
The rooms are tiny! The property is nice and the restaurant on premise is nice. The service is great. But the rooms are very small. They are comfortable enough if you just want to rest/sleep.
Property is beautiful, and excellent staff courteous and helpful. Room was very quite small fro two people, and stuffy at night while trying to sleep.
Excellent staff
Great stay in a lovely small boutique hotel
The property had a pleasant ambience and staff were helpful for the most part. I think their cleaning services need a bit more of upgrading, there was an under garment left by the previous guest in my room. It makes you think if they really cleaned the room well. Overall, I would have rate the property a solid 7.
Nice hotel and good location
Lovely hotel and a great location to see london. The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. The bar staff I believe were fairly new and didn’t quite know all of the menu. They we’re trying but it was as little slow at times
Not a 4 star hotel . Hardly 3 . Lousy internet . Small rooms . No ability to control temp , no refrigerator , skip this one .
Professional team, very helpful, upgraded me when I needed to stay longer
I love the Kensington neighborhood. We enjoyed our room and balcony very much. Absolutely lovely. The breakfast selections were very nice. Front desk staff was excellent. My only complaint is the mattress is a bit hard. But that is all in one's opinion. My husband didn't mind it at all. Thanks for a lovely stay!
Really lovely hotel
Really lovely nights trip to London. We checked in early and had our room upgraded which was a lovely treat. It was spacious, very clean and comfortable with lovely toiletries from l’occitane.
We were greeted by Andre at the front desk. He was very friendly, provided exceptional service and made us feel very welcomed and at home. He made our stay memorable. Great hotel and would stay there again!
very friendly staff - perfect for a restful stay
Great experience, good location and very helpful staff. I arrived a little early and still got accommodated with a room upon my arrival. I even got a free upgrade to a category above what I had booked.
Great location for our trip Staff were all especially attentive and helpful
Everything was amazing
Hotel was really good. Good staff and location is great. Really disappointed to find there was no pool. The reason I booked this hotel was that on Hotels.com it stated there was a pool. Although the hotel was great I would not have paid the price had I known it wasn’t what was promised.
Even during Covid19 outbreak, staff was fantastic.
hotel. Great balcony room. Friendly and helpful staff. Always quick with special requests. The room had a beautiful city view wirh balcony overlooking a quiet street.
Why does Hotels.com call Xenia "fabulous"?!?
Our room was minuscule, dark, and freezing. NB: Your room thermostat does nothing. It's for show. They control the temperature centrally--and the heat was off. They kept saying they'd turn it on but didn't do that until night time. I think that's how they get you to leave the room, since there's no breakfast to get you out, so the cleaners could come in. It took over two hours of begging after we first got to the room, before they gave us a small space heater. Since the room was so small, the tiny space heater heated it quickly--until a breaker blew and the outlets went out. The cleaning people didn't clean the tub and were circumspect about sharing routine toiletries. Desk personnel were unwilling to loan scotch tape so we could wrap a Christmas gift. The only positives were: Prosecco in lobby while you wait for your room, a bowl of apples in lobby, plenty of hot water for a bath, and pleasant-enough staff. I recommend you go to this hotel's sister hotel instead, the Kensington Marriott. That one is just across the street. They're both Marriots. That one has larger, warmer, brighter rooms, a minifridge, etc., nicer personnel, and a comfortable executive room business lounge--and they will loan you tape. At that hotel, you can control your room's temperature and find places to put your luggage and personal toiletries. Imagine that!
Nice hotel, small rooms. Great staff. Great location.
Great location, good boutique hotel. The rooms are quite small. I had a classic and there were two of us. It would be good for one person.
We loved our stay at Hotel Xenia, even thought it was just one night. It is a very cute hotel and was in the wonderful Kensington area. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Our room was clean and great for what we needed.
Room too small for 2 people
Rooms are extremely small for 2 people. Bed and small table took up 70-80% of the room. We had a slanted wall that made walking around one side the bed nearly impossible. Air conditioning was not working and had 1 small window to open for airflow. Please read the fine print on room size as none of the pictures on the website adequately represent the size of our room. Hotel common areas were nice and the hotel is located in a good location. No ice.
Excellent location. Very nice property. Staff very helpful Would recommend to others
Boutique Hotel
Pricey but pleasant. Nice people
Mm not sure if I would repeat my stay there!
Very good! But, rooms where very small, individual beds and stretch halls
Bijou understated.
Modern.clean. Great location. But rooms are very small . The en-suite was so small I had to sit on the loo sideways . My head hit the handle on the door and the towel rail
Booked a twin room. Tiny room, small bed. No way the small single bed could be called "twin". Overpriced. Not recommended
Not quite 4-star feeling. Perhaps 3.5 stars
Absolute misrepresentation on their website. I don't think it is worthy of 4-star status. No mini-fridge in the room. When I made my booking, I had I asked for a room far from the elevator. When I arrived, they gave me one right in front of the elevator door. Check-out took forever . They had two receptionists at the front desk tending to an American lady (who apparently had had a serious problem with the hotel service) for 20 minutes; meanwhile, they kept me waiting. They could have had one receptionist deal with the customer and the other receptionist with me. Very poorly planned. I would normally not complain, but I was in a rush and could not be waiting at 12 noon. Overall, not a nice feeling. Staff needs to be better trained, both for welcoming guests and check-out.
My stay at Hotel Xenia was fabulous. I will definitely return on my next trip to London. Perfection.
Good location, staff nice, good breakfast. Room very small.
Nice but a bit pricey
We stayed for one night to meet up with our son. As we booked with very little notice, the price was much higher than what it would have been if we had two or more weeks’ notice. The advantages of the hotel were: very convenient position (we were able to walk to the V&A); comfortable room; lovely breakfast.
A good experience
Great hospitality, friendly staff, good quality & comfortable rooms. Great location for access to 2 local underground rail stations. Local food, shopping and supermarkets. Also, the daily & nightly treats left in the room was a nice touch. Highly recommend.
Room was an upgrade but very small. Bathroom was very very small and no bath. Dread to think what original room booking would have been like...
Comfortable
My stay was comfortable
The exterior of the building was pretty, the inside was fine but standard and pretty uninteresting. The room was clean, decent size, and updated but nothing memorable except that the Room had an outdoor patio which was as really nice and enjoyable. The bathroom soaps were very nice. Breakfast wasn’t included which was disappointing for the cost, but the ability to park was well worth it. Not only do they offer nearby parking at the grocery store garage, (parking is hard to find in London) but the rate was very reasonable. The neighborhood is nice and quiet and has dining options and the hotel is near a tube station. Door man could have been a bit more helpful but desk staff was very friendly.
Alice in Wonderland rooms
Rooms exceptionally small, even for London. Not a good value. Most Americans will be highly disappointed. Nice staff -very accommodating. Tininess of rooms outweighed any charm. Breakfast decent, but could be better for price of 17 pounds.
small room, no temperature control
Great place and great location. The beds were very comfortable and the rooms were clean.
Staff is excellent and very responsive. There was a misunderstanding regarding the type of room I booked and I was extremely pleased with the manner in which it was promptly handled. I felt they really cared about making sure their guests were satisfied. I would stay here again. Great location.
Cute little boutique hotel.
My room was small but had the cutest little balcony. Plus I only came back to sleep. Also, because it's so small the staff pay really close attention to all guess. The housekeeping staff here is great too!
Absolutely love this property! Everyone was amazing and super helpful. I’ll definitely be back again. Thank you!!!!
Convenient, comfortable, helpful
Staff couldn't have been more helpful. We were upgraded which was lovely. Have stayed before. Short walk to Earl's Court underground for Heathrow airport. Enjoyed dinner at hotel
Double bed was small for a room in this price bracket. Bathroom also quite cramped. Rest of stay was great though, helpful staff, nice decor, good bar & drinks.
Staff were friendly and ready to help.Great location and a few minutes walk from public transportation. I will recommend to friends and family.
Great Hotel!!
We stayed in 3 different hotels during our vacation in the UK. This was by far the best hotel we stayed at!! The bed was extremely comfortable!! Small closet but we made it work. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Very helpful staff, especially concierge! Great location for restaurants and transportation. In a busy, thriving part of London, but not overwhelming.
Nice Hotel staff wonderful.
Close to V & A can walk to Kensington high Street near tube etc.
Hotel Xenia review
My stay at Hotel Xenia was superb. The staff were so helpful and friendly. I would recommend it . I've stayed in lots of hotels and this was the best by far
Lovely balcony
Nice people ; welcoming and friendly - great location; bath robes and balcony
The staff are terrific but the facility is quite dates, the rooms are small and shades of brown and beige. And the bathrooms, while functional, are also small and showing their age. Once the hotel is renovated from top to bottom I look forward to going back.
Great hotel. Small but excellent rooms.
We loved our stay at Hotel Xenia. The hotel is in a prime location for walking, bus, tube, or taxi. The hotel is furnished handsomely and the rooms, though small, were very well designed and decorated. The bed was perfect, the linens excellent, and the service second to none. Thanks for a great stay!
Great staff, location, hotel
Great hotel. Excellent location. Friendly , enthusiastic staff v helpful.
Lovely hotel
Loved Xenia; close to the train, restaurants, and museums. Friendly staff and always accommodating.
Very friendly and knowledgeable staff; convenient location (especially to Heathrow and attractions); delicious breakfast.
Perfection
Amazing hotel, staff, food. Would go back time and time again. Staff couldn’t mor helpful and eager to help make your stay perfect from entering hotel to walking out on last day
Nice hotel located near many attractions
Very friendly and accommodating staff. Very good restaurant. Style is traditional with a modern twist.
What is this, a hotel for ants?
Let me preface this by saying the service was great/the staff was accommodating and professional apart from the concierge and bellhops that were eager to help for tips. But this was the smallest hotel room I've ever had in 40 years of life, even for European or Japanese standards. Yes - my hotel room in Japan was bigger and more reasonably priced than this. I was disappointed in the high rate for such a small and cramped room which lacked any charm. We had more storage on the airplane (in economy!) for our luggage and belongings. The bed was comfortable, but there was a wool blanket on it. I am allergic, and I've never seen a wool blanket on a boutique hotel room bed. (Is this the military?) We were on the top floor and the view was cute (see photos) but not romantic or impressive enough to charge £250+ for a very, very small double room. I had high hopes for a Marriott group "Autograph Collection" hotel, in which even the smallest room should be better than a Best Western or Holiday Inn - and the service was better - but the room size, comfort, and amenities were disappointing. Plainly said, it was overpriced. The restaurant was too. If you book here, just know when they say 2 max, they mean 2 person max. So if you want more comfort, book a bigger room or stay elsewhere. I wouldn't book here again unless the other 4-star hotels in the area (meaning, in London) were all sold out.
It was great. We had a lot of fun and the stuff was very warm to us. I can't complain about a thing. If you are going to London, keep this place in mind.
Great place.
Great location very easy for the tube. Staff were great start to finish always on hand and ready to offer a service. Hotel is generally very clean and do not have one complaint about my stay. If your stuck for choice or can’t decide then this is the hotel for you !
Room too small for 2 people
Given the very good reviews, I was expecting a much better experience than it turned out to be. The biggest problem -- in fact, really the only problem -- was the size of the room. It was simply not manageable for 2 people. Mind you, I lived in NYC for 5 years in a tiny apartment and go there several times for business per year. In other words, I know what small (hotel) rooms are like. However, even when comparing to NYC standards, this hotel was TINY and it simply was not comfortable for 2 people. There was too little space to put away clothes, etc. for 2 people, no drawers in the closet (just hangers), and no space to put the luggage without it being in the way and constantly bumping into it (mind you, we only had 1 luggage for the 2 of us). This hotel room might perhaps be o.k. for 1 person only who's staying for a short period, with hand luggage only. Also, offering instant coffee for a hotel at this level is kind of embarrassing. On the upside: all the staff was extremely nice and professional and the lobby looks sleek and modern -- but none of this offsets the lack of space and the room being too small for 2 people.
Very pleased!
Wonderful hotel! The staff is amazing, beds comfy and room service delish!
We had an issue with our room. I made a comment through expedia and was notified immediately by the hotel management that they will move us. It was great customer service.
Excellent experience. Courteous staff. Attentive to all your needs.
Room was very small and cramped for the cost.
Very nice.
Weekend break
Lovely hotel, very welcoming staff. Rooms very small, ok for a couple of nights.
Lovely hotel -- tiny room!
The hotel is clean, stylish, and comfortable. The staff were kind and accommodating! However, when I walked into my "double room," I was a bit surprised at how tiny it was! It was fine for one person, but if I had been with a travel companion, it would have been rather suffocating. I've traveled enough to not expect large spaces in London, but this was particularly tiny. That said, it was still a very comfortable and enjoyable stay!
Beautiful and comfortable hotel in Kensington!
I'm so happy I stayed here. Upon arrival, the staff was extremely warm and nice and made me feel very welcome. I stayed in a single room, and the bed was quite comfortable. Very thankful for the bowl of apples they had at reception every morning, as they served as my midday snacks while I was out and about! The hotel was within walking distance of two Tube stations: Earl's Court and Gloucester Road. Easy to get to places! Lots of food options in the area as well.
Hotel with character right in Kensington
Just spent 5 days at the Hotel Xenia while on a business trip. It's my second stay, and I'll keep coming back for more. Walking distance to Olympia conference center, and also to a lot of great museums. Nice neighborhood, convenient by tube to central London. It's great to stay at a place that isn't a cookie cutter chain, and they have top-notch service. Great breakfast, classy bar, nice hangout den, and I felt completely comfortable hosting business meetings without needing to rent a conference room. The room itself was nice, although nothing super-special. The previous stay I had a nicer 'executive' room which was quite spacious by London Standards.
Impeccably clean rooms make the experience
The small size of the classic room could be overlooked as the room was very clean and comfortable. Even the carpets were very soft on the feet. The bathroom was spotless. I felt very relaxed.
Nice hotel, polite staff, ridiculously small rooms
£289 for a night in the smallest room I've ever seen. I have maybe 250 nights on business over the average year and I could literally touch all four walls from the centre of the room. Daylight robbery even for Kensington. I won't be staying again, though looking at the reviews it seems I'm in the minority. There wasn't room for me to even us the iron and have my bag on the floor!
Outstanding service
Outstanding experience. Couldn't have been better. The room was small but that didn't matter. The service was wonderful, faultless. Thank you!
Beautiful, friendly hotel central to everything
Cannot rate this hotel highly enough. Staff were lovely and so helpful. Will definitely go back at some time in the near future.
Excellent hotel in great location
Modern, comfortable and very clean room. Excellent shower. Bathroom reasonable size but with a little limited shelf space for toiletries etc. Staff extremely efficient and all very friendly and personable. Breakfast very good if I thought a little on the expensive side. Hotel in good location in main bus routes and not far from Gloucester Rd and Earl's Court tube stations. Lots of buzz in the area with plenty restaurants and bars nearby. Felt very safe walking around the vicinity. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Very nice place in very good location
Staff were very friendly and helpful. This is a great small hotel, the only problem being "small" as in tiny rooms (9 feet x 9 feet). Barely had room for our suitcases, had to squirm past suitcase to get to the bathroom. Room had a small desk but had to sit the chair sideways since there's no room to sit facing the desk. Would be fine for one person with one small suitcase. The rooms are beautiful otherwise.
Fabulous staff!
While the room was small, it had wonderful beds and a great bath. The room was very quiet and we never heard other guests. The of all was the staff. All were very friendly and informative.
nice hotel, great location and very helpful staff.
I had a one night stay last week at the hotel. it was my first time there and I chose it for the location which was really convenient for High St Kensington etc. The rooms are very clean and comfortable. on the small side but you have everything you need. Very good nights sleep and the staff were extremely professional and helpful.
Thanks Hotel Xenia for a great stay! See you soon!
Excellent stay overall. Housekeeping could be a tad bit better (e.g. changing sheets etc. more often) but other than that the hotel is very nice. The only thing to keep in mind is that it is an older hotel so don't expect it to be totally 4-5-star business class Marriott. But if you're looking for a boutique hotel, you can't go wrong with Hotel Xenia. You come for the brand, you stay because of the very nice, helpful people. P.S.: one more thing to keep in mind is that being an older building near a busy street, it has street noise
Boutique-y hotel with the smallest rooms ever
Nice hotel about a 30 minute walk to Kensington Gardens area; dining and amenities nearby; closest Tube stop is Earl's Court (exit to Earl's Court Road, not Warwick Road). The hotel is nice but the rooms are small; ours was perhaps the smallest hotel room I've ever experienced in my 50+ years of traveling. My husband said the staff was friendly.
Great
Great staff, great room, great area
Tiny Rooms
Booked 2 rooms at the hotel for 1 night. When we checked in we were told that we had booked 2 small doubles - discovered the rooms were so tiny there was hardly any space between the edge of the bed and the walls. The bathroom was tiny and accessed from the side of the bed. Suitcases had to be placed on the floor by the door; there was no free floor space. We had booked 2 normal sized rooms at £170.00 each, not including breakfast. At no point during the booking process were we informed the rooms were 'small' and felt insulted to be told we had booked small rooms by reception. I complained and was informed an 'upgrade' was available for one room to a normal sized double room. We declined as we required 2 normal sized rooms. We are regular visitors to London and have never experienced such shoddy treatment by a hotel.
Happy with our stay. Nice location
