Amazing room! View of the Matterhorn, soaking tub. Hotel was very charming

The owner of the property and all the staff make guests feel so welcomed, like staying at someone's home. Smiles, kind words, advice on how to spend an afternoon, just amazing. Wonderful experience and highly recommended!

Great place to stay the only complaint would be that the spa tub was cool water only and very small. Sauna was good. Room was very clean and large. Food was good in the restaurant on location.

We found it strange that the property offers a gym but it is a 15 minute walk that needs to be booked 1hour before. Not as convenient as advertised. The restaurant is also in the main entrance so if you’re ok with the smell of fondue cheese then it shouldn’t be a bother. The hotel does smell like fondue cheese throughout because of this. One other thing we found strange was the staff asks you don’t take your room key off property. We were asked to leave the key on a hook in the front lobby (which is right down a hall from the Main Street/next to restaurant). We felt uncomfortable leaving our room key with our room number on it out in the open, especially with no staff at the front desk the whole time.. just seemed risky and not ideal. Room was spacious which was great!

We loved MAGA at the reception desk. She was very helpful. The restaurant is very good with great, hardworking waitresses. The rooms are very nice and large.

Close to all the amenities. Easy to get to from station. Friendly staff.

very nice stay, with beautiful views. sadly no AC so was a little rough at night because leaving the window open you may hear noise.staff was kind enough to let me borrow a fan which helped very much! good size room and bathroom for 3 people. Close walk to the station. enjoyed our stay very much.

Convenient, charming and comfy

Charming and comfortable stay. Conveniently located only 5 minutes away from the main Zermatt station on the main street. Family room with loft offered plenty of space. Service was helpful and friendly. Great value and Swiss charm!

Good location, average property

This is old hotel property so you will feel going back to sixties or way prior. Location is good and so was the breakfast. Beds were comfortable. Don’t expect much but basic ameneties you would expect. We did not try spa area so cannot comment on that.

Wonderful hotel with comfortable rooms and super friendly staff. Perfectly located in the heart of Zermatt. Restaurant and patio area offer fantastic local authentic food options.

Best customer service, excellent breakfast, clean and spacious accomodations, dining options, and lots of positive vibes all around. We had views of Matterhorn and Breithorn from our balcony. Beyond my expectations and thanks to all the friendly staff.

Lovely hotel, grey facilities and a superb view. Excellent standard.

This was a great tradional Swiss property. The front desk receptionist was was very pleasent. When I asked her about the history of the hotel she took the time to explain it as well as explain some of picture of the family ownership on the lobby walls. The breakfast was very good as well

Excellent location

Excellent property and centrally located. Our room was upgraded and staff were friendly and helpful. They had to do multi-tasking at front office, restaurant, concierge. Breakfast was delicious, the only downside was some flies around food.

We loved this hotel stay! The dinner and breakfast were at the hotel were the best we had anywhere in Switzerland. The mini spa was a bonus that we enjoyed. Will return in the future!

Suite on 4th floor was amazing. Clean, comfortable room. Staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was great with many food options. Highly recommended!

Beautiful

Room is way bigger than pictured and the bed was very nice.

Staff were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the breakfast. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and our server Victoria was amazing!! Victoria took extra time to explain the menu and went well above in finding us a good table outside. Victoria checked on us frequently and can’t thank her enough for her smile and customer service was superb!! She should be given a promotion!

Excellent Hotel

Excellent Hotel. Very close to railway station. Staff is very friendly. We had to look for a Dr due to medical emergency and the front desk staff did a great job in finding a Dr for us.

Used sauna and spa. Could not imagine how busy it would be in winter.

Very nice hotel. The check-in was not pleasant as the staff insisted they would not commence check in for all guests until exactly 3 pm. Thus there were 6-7 parties lining up to check in at the same time. The room was very large and nicely set up. The full breakfast was excellent. Overall, this stay was of good value,

Great place to stay and great services

Near train station. Gornergrat Bahn, shopping, food places, Kirchebrucke (Church bridge) to view the Matterhorn. Lovely spacious suite. Clean bathroom with heating to dry towels . Comfortable bed but pillows are a little too soft. Cosy breakfast place with sufficient spread of breakfast items a DIY waffle station. Pleasant smiley staff at breakfast place.

Old world charm. Great breakfast.

Cutest hotel! The room was spacious and so clean. The receptionist was so helpful. When she realized that we were checking out before breakfast the next morning she ordered us a to-go sack. Our balcony had a view of the Matterhorn! Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We enjoyed our stay and the breakfast was very good.

Desk clerk was wonderful … even to the point of making sure to have us a bag breakfast packed when she realized we’d have to check out early to catch the first train. Extraordinary service.

MA lovely traditional hotel. 5 minutes walk from the train station and in the centre of town. Comfortable warm rooms great views.

One of many similar properties up and down the street leading from the train station. All with their own hotel restaurants. Staff nice enough. Breakfast great by American standards. Ordinary by European standards. Nothing wrong here. Amazing skiing facilities and snow condition when we were here in Mid-March.

Great location within 8 minute walk to train and 15 minute walk to gondola, very centralized. Great breakfast! Staff friendly and helpful with questions. Would definitely stay again. Shopping and restaurants all around. Nice hotel restaurant as well.

Spectacular Affordable View

From the point of checkin to check out everything was exceptional! The view was amazing and the breakfast was spectacular! They had BACON!!!!

We love this hotel. We got a room with a view of the snowy mountain. It was beautiful ! The staff was helpful and quick to bring us the extra blankets we need. The morning breakfast was decent and got enough variety. The location is the best and only mins to walk to! We enjoyed our stay here!

Cute and with character. Very spacious room for Switzerland- really quiet. You can ask for a tea kettle for your room and the staff will be happy to provide. Pillows are a bit lumpy, though.

Charming and beautiful hotel.

The walliserhof is a very charming and characterful hotel. The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. We had booked a standard double room and we’re lucky enough to have the 4th floor with a balcony that had amazing views. The hotel was spotless and the rooms were so quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with a range of food to choice from. It is just a couple of mins from the train station which made staying here so convenient. We will definitely stay here again.

Great location, cute and clean hotel with lots of amenities. They had a fitness center, spa and great continental breakfast. There was also a restaurant attached with patio seating. We had a cute balcony and our room was spacious. Would definitely stay here again!

Lovely old, well maintained inn, classic with modern touches. Included breakfast was very good, dinner in the restaurant excellent. The only con is that the sun poured in our room and it was very hot with no air conditioning. Next time I'd shut the curtains in arrival and open the door as the sun went down.

We loved our stay and will be returning! The room was charming and comfortable and the area felt very clean and thoughtful. We especially enjoyed the spa and the fresh breakfast.

We stayed here for 1 night and would have liked to stay in Zermatt longer. The room was clean and spacious with a patio to sit on during nice weather. Staff were helpful and friendly. We were able to store our bags for the day which was helpful. They brought us extra pillows too. My only complaint was the room was too warm for our liking and there was no thermostat to decrease or turn off the heat. Location was close to the train station and although we did not eat at the hotel restaurant, it was busy and smelled good as we walked by. We would definitely stay here again.

It’s very convenient to the train station as well as center of Zermatt. One highly recommended restaurant nearby is Pizzeria Restorante Molino: super authentic with good quality. Thumbs up!

What a superb gem of a hotel - very comfortable bed, good sized bedroom and bathroom, welcoming staff, and wonderful food in the restaurant. Highly recommended.

This was an excellent hotel for a stay in Zermatt. Located close to train and most things you need. Nice reception for check in. Elevator to room. Our room was on of the best stays on our trip. It was room 40 and had a balcony on Bornerhoffen and views of the Matterhorn from a window. Very clean. Secure. Quiet with windows closed. Large room. Comfortable bed. Breakfast is included and is also above standard with excellent coffee. Overall value for money in this country.

Excellent place to stay. Friendly staff, excellent location, beautiful room with loft area and a balcony. Since we had an early train and missed breakfast hours, they packed us a to go bag the night before. Couldn’t have been nicer!!!

This was a lovely property located very close to the train station, restaurants, and shops. Our room’s balcony had a view of the Matterhorn! If we ever come back to Zermatt, I would love to stay here again. Staff was kind and helpful.

A lovely hotel a few minutes from the station on the main (car free) street. The room was large and clean. It had a small balcony, but the view is of other buildings. We could just see the tip of the Matterhorn. Large luminous bathroom. Good continental breakfast.

Pleasant stay!

It was a pleasant stay! the ceiling of the room is kind of low, but the room is comfy and the bathroom is really nice! We like the hotel!

I reserved for a hotel with parking. There is NO parking at this hotel. In fact, one has to come into the village of Zermatt on a train from the next town. Very difficult for me as I am handicapped.

small, quiet, good breakfast Although it is in a safe area and small, please plan that there are no safes in the room. valuables should be stored in a locked bag or taken with you. The risk of pickpockets in Zermatt is small.

Clean hotel and great restaurant

Room was very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. I'd recommend to try the restaurant downstairs, food was excellent.

Room very nice. Key confusing. Whirlpool did not have clear instructions and it stopped and drained when we were in it.

Middle of the city , easy to fined , easy access to a lot of activities

We had a great experience at the Hotel Walliserhof. The room was very spacious, comfortable and well appointed. The current generation of this family owned hotel takes great pride in providing a good experience for it's guests. The restaurant is excellent also. This was one of the highlights of our 3-week European vacation.

Disappointed there is no shuttle to and from train. Taxi was 17 fr. It is walkable once you know the area.
