A fine place place for a one night stay
It was perfect for what we needed - a bed, a shower and breakfast in a handy part of town. It is very shabby and a bit dirty, but it was fine for a one night stay in Rome, close to the fantastic area of Trastevere.
Good hotel, great value for budget travel
Good hotel, little outdated, but good value, not the well lighten location, but great as far as getting around.
Friendly helpful staff. Included breakfast was good and plentiful. Clean room. Close to train, bus, dining, shopping, and in a nice walkable neighborhood.
We accidentally booked the room a day early because we had a 9 hour flight and they sold our room instantly without calling us! They asked if we needed 1 bed or 2, we said 2. then they gave us a room on the 2nd floor with 1 bed! The glass door on the shower was BROKEN and needed to be physically adjusted every time we touched it. They knew it was brown and gave the room to us. They didn’t know how to fix the ac. To be honest they used the slight language barrier as an excuse to be rude and unhelpful. There is one common balcony for all guests that is open certain hours. Best thing is the location . It’s near a train station and a bus stop.
Villa Rosa experience
The hotel has a very good location and all the staff is very professional and friendly
The hotel was really old and worn out the carpets on the stairs were old and dirty the room was about 6 feet by 12 feet the shower stall was really small and old and not really clean the elevator was very small but the staff was really nice I would not recommend this hotel to my friends and family all night you herd sirens and a train going by
The beds were very little and the mattress to hard. The bathroom shower to small and the sink to big. So the Bathroom was uncomfortable.
It was too far from the areas of interest. The hallways and stairs need a deep cleaning. The room didn’t have anywhere to sit, other than the bed.
Hotel Villa Rosa location 💕💕💕is fantastic with Roma Traverse Train station ( 5-8 minutes walk), many many many different buses stands ( 5 minutes walk) you can take to all all all Rome tourist attractions. Can buy buy buy Bus tickets ( 90 minutes passes and 1Day passes) at newspapers stand ( in front of Roma Traverse Train Station), at winery shop and at bakery/ Coffee shop( also opposite of Roma Traverse station but left side across the road. Food outlets and Grocery outlets all just walking distance within minutes 👍👍👍
Avoid this hotel if you can
The location although walking distance to the train station - was sketchy. The room was really small and did not fit 4 adult people with bags/suitcases. Washroom has molds on shower heads and the drain on the ahower was so slow.
The staff is wonderful and always polite. The rooms are clean. It’s close to the train and tram. Can get to Rome fiumincino in 30 minutes.
To be expected but overall good.
Just a night spent but COVID-19 secure, friendly and cheap. However, the hotel is quite a bit out of the centre but this be mitigated with the nearby tram service.
Good value hotel, lovely staff, very clean
Our room was overlooking a busy road with a hospital quite nearby so some noisy ambulances and police cars, even in the middle of the night! We had very (new) comfortable beds and the room was very clean. The continental breakfast was as expected, with a reasonable choice of cold food. It was a little way out of Trastavere centre, but easy to get trams and/or metro. The staff were very helpful, professional and pleasant. A room on the other side of the hotel away from the road may be better.
Just lovely
An intriguing old building in the centre of the old town. To describe the rooms as ‘grand’ would would be an injustice to this historic and at times palacios residence. Chandelier in the bedroom, high ceilings, view of courtyard and church, sympathetic furnishings, and grand double doors from your private lobby. Just lovely
The pictures of hotel don't depict the real condition of the hotel. Pictures make hotel look great, but rooms are tired and bare looking. Showers too small and location not good except that it is close to a train station. Will not stay there again. Would not recommend to anyone.
Very good hotel for wifi and breakfast. The location was solid with a train station and metro in walking distance. The staff though were very knowledge and always willing to answer questions.
Tired worn out rooms more like a one star
When we checked in we was sent to another building up the road . I paid to stay in the hotel not the annexe up the road .room was worn out .heating did not work .stayed one night then left .this is not a three star hotel. More like a one star
Good breakfast, rest average
- Internet not working in the room - Electrical socket next to a desk - not working, had to unplug tv to charge phone - Air-conditioning working very poor. - All of above was reported by me during my stay, but nothing was done to make it better. - They had problems with issuing correct invoice, not only me by also for my friend who stayed there earlier + Good Breakfast
Good location at the edge of Trastevere
500m from Trastevere train station (connected with Fiumicino Airport). 300m to tram 3, 8 and busses. Hotel was nice, staff excellent, breakfast so-so... Recommended!
Good stay for the price
Good hotel for the value. Rome is not hard to navigate, and this hotel's location is good for the price. I found that the tram service was great for getting you through the area and an easy walk to tourist sites. Train station is close and 1 stop to Vatican. Hotel staff was great and very helpful with information about the city and transportation.
Excellent service! Close to train station!
A good hotel for a quick overnight in Rome--needed to catch an early flight at Fiumicino and dinner with a friend the night before. A good price and a useful location!
Economical, pleasant hotel
The staff were very helpful in giving us suggestions related to transportation. They even offered to provide a meal for us the evening we arrived!
Nice hotel to get a real Italian experience.
Nice hotel with very helpful staff. We chose Villa Rosa because it was close to relatives and close to bus and tram to go to the center of Rome for all shopping and sightseeing. Beds were a little hard but we got used to them. The first night our room was located over a busy street. They were able to change our room the next night and it was very quiet. The free breakfast was fantastic, with fresh pastry, bread, cereal, yogurt, meats and cheeses and excellent coffee! We had stayed here once before and will stay there when we go again! Being close to our Aunt who was celebrating her 100th birthday, made our stay even better.
Very convenient to get to Fiumicino Airport
Very close to Roma Trastevere train station, easy to get to the train to go to Fiumicino Airport, very convenient.
very disappointing
The double bed was against a wall with a gap of 10 or so inches between the bed and the wardrobe, the air conditioner did not work We were not able to connect to Wi fi for some reason. The computer in the lobby was not operational. The bathroom was very tired, we had ask for towels. The bidet in the bathroom was not operational, it was taped down and appeared to have been non operational for some time, as the tape was very old and fraying. If they don't want it to be used, then remove it and utilise the space for a better functioning bedroom.
Cj and Raquel!!!!
The overall experience it is value, the hotel staff well versed, knowledgeable, they were very friendly, very helpfull and very accommodating....Multi lingual and could not provite better service.......WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE JAJAJAJAJAJAJ BEST WATER FOUNTAIN IN TOWN OUTSIDE THE FRONT DOOR !!!!!! ahahahahah Thanks to all of you and we will be there soon ..... LOVE ITALYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY CJ AND RAQUEL...
Friendly staff
We were pleased with excellent care from friendly, professional staff .
Helpful staff
We really enjoyed extra attention of the staff, who were courteous and went far to help us have an easy and comfortable stay.
Great Location with Fantastic Service
We had an overnight stay at Hotel Villa Rosa on our way back home from a cruising holiday. This was a very last minute booking but we were really pleased with the proximity of the hotel to popular tourist locations in Rome and the excellent service we received from the hotel staff. Parts of the hotel need some attention and unfortunately as our room was overlooking the hotel smoking area we did get some cigarette smoke coming in to our room. However, the room was clean and large enough for the four of us. The staff helped us to make the most of the few hours we had to explore Rome and the breakfast was a good start to the day. We will definitely be staying here next time.
Pleasant
It can easily be reached from the Fiumicino airport, because one of its trains arrives & departs at the Trastevere railway station (platforms 24 & 25); the hotel is located at a very reasonable walking distance from the station; there are 45 steps from Via Gianicolense to reach the hotel. The hotel staff is very cooperative. Rooms are clean and properly equipped with air-conditioning, a television set & bathroom with shower. An asset can be the evening dinner prepared, at very good prices for Rome catering standards, by the new excellent chef Vincenzo (genuine Italian cuisine). There might be problems with water & electricity supplies, due to works in the nearby Trastevere area. It can be recommended.
It was a decent hotel.
The hotel was simple but decent, very close to public transportation, in a quiet area. They had a good breakfast. It is so bad they didn't have internet, but the price was very good. Warm staff.
Family Trip
The hotel was close to the transportation, however it was complicated to figure out where to go on the transportation. It did not look like the nice part of town. the hotel staff was very nice and helpful for the most part.
Not quite as advertised...
about the equivalent of a US 2-star hotel
Good location for trams, buses, trains
We stayed here prior to our cruise. The hotel was very clean, the staff was terrific,, the continential breakfast was very good. It is located near the train station which made it very convenient for getting to Civitavecchia to board the ship. It is also close to the tram and bus station which we caught each day to go sightseeing. We had the hotel set up a tour for us which picked us up at the hotel. The hotel has a small bar which was nice each evening to relax after a full day of sightseeing. There are local resturants which were very good. Very friendly and helpful staff. Room is small but satisfactory for the four nights we were there. We thought that it was closer to the principal attractions but with the bus and tram so close it worked out for us. We would recommend it and would stay again.
Small rooms, rude staff, a little pricey
The place was pretty much what I expected. The lady working the desk was very friendly when I checked in, but when I came back to the hotel at about 1AM the guy at the desk was VERY rude. My girlfriend had decided to stay at my hotel with me instead of her apartment because the hotel was air conditioned. When i asked to upgrade from a single to a double, the guy made me pay for a completely new room. So I ended up with two rooms. Since there might have been a whole four other guest at the hotel, this hotel was not full and people werent fighting for rooms. They couldhv easily let me move my stuff from one room the the next, but instead I was charged full price for both rooms. Whatever, I was only there one night. The lady was nice, breakfast was pretty good too... their just lucky they have AC. Also there was a cigarette but in the bathroom of my non-smoking room, thats gross and I'm a smoker....
DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!
1ST: NO INTERNET....The high speed internet is a block away at a internet cafe 2ND: NO IRON or IRONING BOARD for "Security Reasons" 3RD: NOT ALLOWED GUEST for "Security Reasons" I also asked them to provide me with my flight information and they said for "Security Reasons" they are unable to look that information up. The hotel is not in the GPS so it's very difficult to find. The beds broke me out in hives and the hotel is air conditioned ONLY in the place where staff is located. The rest of the hotel has central fans. The hotel was the WORST part of my stay and the WORST hotel I have stayed in since I have been in Europe (2 years).
great location & super staff
very clean and close to all forms of transportation the staff was always available and very helpful with assisting with directons to restaurants, sites, travel, and etc. breakfast was extensive and plentiful
Very good value and good location.
Very good value and good location. Pamela the receptionist was excellent. Downside was noisy in the morning with traffic and bar closed at 11.30pm
Weekend in Roma February, 2010
Basic Room. Nice bathroom (shower stall) & breakfast buffet. Close to #8 tram, bus & train lines
Good for the price and trans access
This hotel was quite decent for the price. Usual small rooms and noisy due to fact ours was overlooking the main street. In process of renovation. The train from the airport to Trasterve station is quick and 5.5 euro one way as of 7 Feb 10. The train station is very close to the hotel up a street. Helpful hint: Exiting the train station head strait out across the street tram tracks and up the tram street to the left until you get to a set of lengthy stairs up and to the right, the hotel is at the top. Access to the tram and train is well within 200 yards. Buy tickets either at the train station or newstand on corner and get anywhere you need to see. Vatican is short train ride with signs from the St Pietro Stn. The #8 Tram to Argentina stop takes you very close to the Pantheon then from there walking distance to Trevi fountain, forum, colosseum. Buy your return train ticket to the airport the day before if you are leaving early as the ticket window may not be open.
The good and the bad
Our first night was very noisy room because of college tour group "gone wild". They moved us on second night to quieter room. Rooms were clean but nothing special. Very good complimentary breakfast. Have been in better, but for Rome at the price was OK.
Would happily stay there again
Would happily stay there again
excellent location and service
excellent location and service
Great little tourist hotel within
Great little tourist hotel within easy reach of the train station. Rooms were adequate not over sized but fair. Value for money this is a good option.
Great Hotel and Staff
The staff was great and very helpful. The rooms were very clean and comfortable. If you had questions about how to get to something the staff was very helpful with directions and the hotel was in a great central location for getting around Rome and to great restaurants.
Nice, Comfortable Hotel
Very friendly and accomodating. Location very good, right by the train station.
Ottimo rapporto qualita prezzo. Parcheggio da incubo... pochi posti in strada. Colazione a buffet sufficentemente assortito.
Near the train station
Near the train station and the bus station, good for staying before going to civittavetia port
Personale disponibile, stanza piccola. Ben collegata al centro
gradevole
Bra
Peccato.
Muito bom
Estadia agradável, atendeu às espectativas. Locomoção para o centro muito fácil. Café da manhã bom.
Posizione strategica, molto buono
Consigliatissimo
Ontvangst is prettig, vriendelijk personeel.
Tranquillo eppure vicino a tutto.
Overraskande bra hotell, ryddig, reint og solid frukost.
Bom hotel
Bom hotel, charmoso. O quarto era apertado.
Hotellet ligger fint i Trastevere

Toimiva hotelli. Ystävällinen palvelu. Terassi mukava.
