Comfortable hotel if not 5 star - maybe 4 star? Staff very friendly and helpful. Great beach. Good for a beach type holiday but a bit isolated so choice of dining is limited.

Lovely holiday place for a couple

We stayed in the Villa Ottone in September 2020. It is a charming place with gorgeous sunsets and a nice private beach. Would love to come back again

Mail service at the restaurant was rushed and impersonal. It definitely appears that there were two levels of service provided, one much more attentive if you had a villa and much less so if you have a regular room. This was disappointing and quite noticeable. Otherwise our stay was very good

Phenomenal Stay!

The island and hotel were lovely. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly, and the amenities were great. The bar, the beach, and the restaurant were all fantastic. Will come back!

Property grounds / pool / beach was excellent. Atmosphere very very nice. Rooms for the villas were small and overall quite expensive for what you got. Beds were hard and not very comfortable for sleeping. Food quality was excellent. Overall a great choice but as a travel agency owner, I felt a little over priced.

Hotel Villa Ottone

it was excellent but a car is beneficial

We had a short city break to Tuscany and took the ferry to Elba to stay at Hotel Villa Ottone for two nights. We WISH we stayed longer! We will definitely be back. We were travelling by car and the car park is on the property with plenty of room for cars (even when a wedding reception was being held. We were early for check in but this wasn't a problem as our room was ready. We were taken to our room by golf buggy. We stayed in one of the cottages which was basic but clean and had everything we needed. We even had a small view of the sea from our terrace! The whole property and grounds are beautiful and well kept. The beach is just down some steps and the sea is clear and calm and great for snorkelling, just remember to bring some sea shoes and the beach is pebbles and stones instead of sand. We didn't eat at the restaurant but we did have lunch at the cafe on the beach front and the food was delicious. All members of staff were polite and helpful, nothing seemed too much trouble. We will definitely be back, but next time for a longer stay!

Short Break

The position of the hotel is incredible, the views from the beach and the sunsets are really the main selling points. Rooms are clean but very dated, we stayed in the classic rooms and maybe that’s why but they’re a bit stuck in the 80s. The staff are very attentive and polite, but not overly friendly, dinner is incredibly formal! The food is amazing but dinner is at least €120 for two people, it’d be nice to have a less formal choice available. I think the hotel is suited to an older clientele, it’s great for a quiet few days but it’s not a very relaxed environment.

Overall quality at your fingertips

Perfect small hotel complex for a very quiet relaxing holiday yet with fantastic fresh seafood offering for lunch or local specialties prepared for dinner with excellent wine list. The maitre d' is worth a mention, he runs the dining to perfection. Private beach at your doorstep. Beach itself is not he most pristine but the experience overall - location, services (gym on premises), accessibility, friendliness of staff and dining options, entertainment (live music for post-dinner drinks) make this a perfect short to mid getaway. Everything you need is at your fingertips - just a few steps away.

Make sure you are in the Villa

The Villa Accommodation is lovely 5 Star and is what is shown in most of the photographs on the websites The Hotel Accommodation is AWFUL - not even 3 star. We booked what we thought was a deluxe room in the Villa, but runs out was in the Hotel. We had to upgrade at 70 euros per night because the Hotel room was very poor, no bath in the bathroom, no view. Buyer beware - check you are in Villa Ottone not Hotel Villa Ottone. Also booked through Expedia and that turned out to be £25/ night more expensive than booking direct would have been. Once in the Villa accommodation the holiday was fabulous. Sea view, Piano playing on the veranda in the evenings - Wonderful. Reception staff were poor - All other staff were lovely. It's a shame to write a review like this, but I dont want others to make the same mistakes as us.

Super Hotel mit eigenem Strand, leider aber viel zu teuer. WLAN funktionierte sehr schlecht. Dieser Umstand passt nicht zu einem Fünf-Sterne-Hotel.

L’hotel si trova all’interno di un parco, in ottima posizione sul mare. Personale molto gentile e professionale. La nostra camera era un po’ “vintage”, ma spaziosa e pulita, unico neo la scarsa illuminazione, soprattutto nel bagno. Buona la colazione. Nel complesso un giudizio più che positivo, ci tornerò volentieri.

Hotel Otone was a nice experience! Everything from the beach bar, the restaurant by the pool, the villa bar and the hotel restaurant ( were we only had breakfast) was a nice experience. The service we experienced was top notch, real Italian hospitality. The surroundings are beautiful.

Ristorante con cucina sublime, e servizio eccellente. Colaz super. L’aperitivo in villa vale la vacanza. Spiaggia migliorabile. Camere ampia ma un pochino demodé. Personale super cortese, che si e’ fatto in quattro anche per darci camera d’appoggio per doccia il pomeriggio della partenza. Pontile comodo per il pickup della barca noleggiata a Bagnaia (organizzato da hotel). Parco ben curato!

Amazing hotel with private beach. Beautiful garden around, swimming pool, private beach with service and perfect view of the port. Food was fantastic. One of our best vacation ever. We will come back again.

Gut gelegen, aber in die Jahre gekommen

Positiv: - Lage - Freundlichkeit des Personals - Frühstück (nicht herausragend aber gut) - Parkplatzsituation Negativ: - Altes Hotel (früher bestimmt nett, aber jetzt eher abgewohnt) - Vollgestopfte Zimmer im alten Stil (haben erstmal Kissen, Decken, kleine Tische etc. ausgemistet um Platz zu schaffen) - Überzogene Preise im Restaurant - Sehr kleines Fitnessstudio mit uralten Geräten - Strandlage gut, aber müsste häufiger gereinigt werden

Hotel in posizione magnifica. Tramonto e quite totale, aperitivo con musica in villa da 10 e lode. Il servizio e’ eccellente, con personale preparato e simpatico. Cucina veramente al top. Unica pecca la ns camera un po’ rumorosa per vicinanza a motori. Consiglio di soggiornare in villa

Pas au niveau

L’hôtel n’est clairement pas au niveau d’un 5 étoiles, tout juste 3. La décoration des chambres est désuète, les salles de bains sentent le moisi. Une baignoire balnéothérapie était dans notre salle de bain mais elle ne fonctionnait pas, le support de douche était désolidarisé du mur. La literie est très moyenne et il est difficile de dormir avec la ventilation tant elle est bruyante. Nous avons été changés de chambre pour passer dans la villa. Le cadre est typique mais les mêmes défauts reviennent: décoration à revoir, douche sauna en panne, odeur de moisissure, literie et ventilation. La vue par contre est à noter. Le seul atout de cet hôtel est son emplacement pratique et la plage privée. Pour le reste le rapport qualité / prix est desastreux. Même le spa de l’hôtel reprend les mêmes défauts (propreté, moisissures)

Hotel ist sehr schön gelegen. Das einzige wo uns sehr gestört hat, ist das man angeblich Haustier freundlich ist und auch so auf dem Suchportals Werbung macht. Nun wir sind mit dem Hund angereist weil wir auch so suchten. Aber dann die grosse ÜBERRASCHUNG!!!! "Hunde dürfen nicht an den Hauseigenen Strand" SUPER, nun waren wir jeden Tag gezwungen an einen anderen Strand zufahren. Sofern mann den Hund ja nicht den ganzen Tag im Zimmer lassen möchte. Hätten wir das vorab gewusst dann wären wir auch nicht in dieses Hotel. Aber sonst gab es keine Probleme mit dem Hund im Hotel.

Bra hotell med svømmebasseng og egen strand. I tillegg egen tennisbane. Litt sliten gym. God mat til lunch og i restauranten til middag, og flink betjening ift å tipse om restauranter i nærheten

Bel hotel idéalement situé en bord de plage

Hotel avec une très belle architecture situé en bord de plage privée, dans un magnifique parc! l'accueil fut correct, mais sans plus pour un 5 étoiles. Nous avons été très déçus par la chambre qui correspond plutôt à un petit 3 étoiles....Chambre vieillotte, communicante non insonorisée, nous avons du subir les pleurs répétés d' un bébé dont le lit devait être collé à la porte de communication , les déplacements de la maman en talons haut sur le carrelage tout le temps de leur présence, bref, pas très agréable! Et la salle de bain......Cabine de douche très fermée qui date, rafistolée à coups de peinture, joints pas nets donc pas très propre, très étroite, on s'y cogne de partout, et effet sauna garanti ! Obligés de laisser la porte entrouverte à notre sortie pour l'évacuation de la vapeur mais alors bonjour les odeurs d'égouts! aucune aération dans la salle de bain, et le reste de l'équipement reste à revoir entièrement! Nous étions en demi pension et là rien à redire, c'était parfait ! Belle salle et terrasse de restaurant, personnel agréable, repas copieux, raffinés et excellents ! Malgré le monde, service assez rapide et efficace !

Fantastisk service!

Mycket bra service! Gott om personal som finns där för dig som hotellgäst. Egna solsängar på stranden med strandhanddukar. Hotellet ligger i en fin park och har underbar utsikt över Porto Ferraio. Behöver bil för att kunna ta sig utanför hotellet, då det är lite avskiljt från övriga omgivningen.

Lyx på Elba

Suverän vistelse på lugna Villa Ottone på vackra Elba. Fantastisk kvällsbar med solnedgång. Egen strand med kanonläge. Lyx i stillhet!

In die Jahre gekommenes Hotel in toller Lage

Nach anfänglichem Ärger mit Zimmer in Hörweite der Straße und defekter Klimaanlage erhielten wir schließlich ein kostenloses Upgrade auf ein deutlich komfortableres und ruhigeres Zimmer. Besonders hervorzuheben ist die tolle Lage des Hotels in einem schönen Park mit Blick über die Bucht von Portoferraio. Etwas Renovierung der Anlage könnte nicht schaden. Das Personal war sehr haustierfreundlich.
