Convenient location in Rome however hotel is dated. Worst part about this stay was that the air-conditioning switches off at night, with no heating. Got very cold in the room and did not switch back on again till 9 am.
The convenience was good but the amenities wasn’t so good. Staff was friendly but not to quick to fix up our heating in room and hot water ddnt work till next day.
Booked for a group of lads for the rugby. So all we really wanted was somewhere to put our heads. Breakfast was poor and the service was terrible. You had to ask for a coffee and the lad looked annoyed you'd asked. The photos for the hotel must have been taken years ago as it needs a complete makeover. If i'd have booked this for a weekend with my wife , I'd have checked out as soon as I'd checked in.
Rome Hotel Valle stay.
We booked the Hotel based on location, price and photos based on website. However, on arrival our room bore no resemblance to the pictures. Room was dark with green walls and furniture. It was dirty and shower/toilet seat were broken. Not all lights worked and only one power socket. Overall, the room was depressing. We went to complain to the duty manager who moved us to another room which was marginally better but again the shower was broken and some lights and TV weren't working. The following morning we spoke to another duty manager who moved us to a third room. This time the shower did work properly and the room generally was brighter and more acceptable. On the plus side, we did have clean towels + beds made every day. The location of the hotel was ideal for sightseeing.
No kettle, no hot shower, room is too tiny and narrow
Great value in the city centre
Convenient location, friendly staff and a yummy breakfast to start the day!
Room provided upon arrival had floor tiles bending up around the edges, smelled like dirty water and had old worn-out linen. Was changed to another room which was better BUT had no hot water. Found the boiler had broken down. For the first three days of stay, not hot water.
BEWARE - DO NOT BOOK I had a horrible experience at Hotel Valle and feel compelled to warn others. I had specifically requested a crib for my 1-year-old, but upon arrival, there was none. I was told they would provide one the following day, leaving me scrambling to figure out how to safely put my baby to sleep on a bed where he could easily fall off. In trying to make the room safe, we moved the beds and were shocked to find a disgusting amount of dust and dirt. The dust was everywhere, clearly visible when the lights were on, and the room felt completely unclean. Adding to this, the ducts in the ceiling looked like they were about to fall off—hardly reassuring. We booked a quadruple room for our family of four (two kids), but the shower was a nightmare. It was barely sufficient for one person, let alone children. To make matters worse, the showerhead holder was held together with tape, making it almost unusable. When we complained to the front desk, the staff member who came up to clean the room was visibly shocked by the level of filth, which says a lot. After seeing our children itching all over, we decided we couldn't stay any longer and informed the front desk we would be leaving the next day. The staff member agreed with us and promised a refund for the remaining nights. However, after we checked out, the hotel refused to honor the refund they had promised. This was the final straw in an already dreadful experience.
Staff were very lovely. Rooms were very run down
Staff are very accommodating
Convenient spot. Very basic hotel, comfortable bed. Hot water was not hot, and bath/shower barely working but for price and a base to sleep it’s clean, simple and close to anything you need.
Good service & nice people
Simone was excellent!!
Bumpy but good!
It was bumpy, the first room they put us in the lights weren’t working properly, the WiFi didn’t work, the shower handle was broken it was a mess. But they moved us to a larger room that though the shower leaked and made a mess everything else worked great. Wish the breaks fast had a few more options for protein- lots of sweet bread- but staff for the most part was lovely and the hotel is very well located near the metro and close to many tourist attractions.
Great Hotel
We were charged extra for the city tax and we had to pay in cash. The rooms were filthy, hot water didn’t work for the first few days so we had to relocate to a different hotel. Once we came back to the hotel, the window was broken and cold air went into the room (in November). Multiple light fixtures were broken, bathroom didn’t lock, fridge didn’t work, etc.
DO NOT STAY THERE
MY ADVISE IS DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER STAYING THERE. We stayed one night because we arrived after 10pm and were very tied had to be up and out for a private tour by 6am the following morning. We were booked in for three nights. We arrived back after our tour and packed our cases and left. The room was a disgrace. The shower head holder was broken the towels rails were broken. There was mould in the shower the plug area of the shower was so dirty and the water wouldn’t run away. The alarm went off in the early hours of the morning. The safe wouldn’t work, there was one power point , the sheets didn’t fit the bed. I could go on and on. JUST DO NOT STAY THERE. When we left the person behind the desk said we were easy losers not sure what he meant but it was rude. It would rate a zero star if that was possible.
the WORST place to stay ever. All I could say is this place is a scam! the pictures don’t match the photos online at all. The photos don’t even exist, there was a toxis odor smell in the bathroom that made me sick, the tv wasn’t working! they take your money before you see the rooms because they know you will complain. I moved to 2 rooms & no room matched the photos as if they stole photos from another hotel & made it seem like theirs. I wish I could give a 0 this hotel isn’t even worth a 1 star.
No hot water for 2 evenings. No heater.
Friendly, accommodating hotel staff at front desk.
Ba
The toilet was not working properly, I have to ask the staff to check, the television was not working properly, the place need renovation e.g painting and changing the future around the room and the dining area. The staff are friendly, polite, helpful they are the start of the property. The area is not too bad but during Friday and Saturday night late can hear the noise outside especially drunk people shouting outside. No clear communication especially paying the local tax around the area, should on check in arrival would be good to mention or reminder I need to pay the local tax at the end of my stay.the receptionist not able to provide me a receipt of the of stay in the hotel apart when I pay the local tax. Overall I like the staff not the property.. thank you to all the staff who work very hard especially during breakfast time.
Hotel Valle
The location is excellent. You can't get much closer to all the attractions. The staff was also excellent! I loved the breakfast in the morning. My only issue was the condition of the room. Could use updating and had some stains that were a little gross.
Love this placr
Personnel courtois mais l'hôtel a besoin de rénovation. En particulier la salle de bain. Très bien situé, près de tout.
This hotel reminded us of Fawlty Towers, but in a good way! A little rough round the edges, but all you need if only using it for sleeping, showering and a quick breakfast. Staff were lovely and moved us to a bigger room when we requested it. One of the cheapest hotels I found in Rome and decent for the price.
Good value for the price. Staff good, area convenient, rooms clean. Rooms could benefit from redecorating but overall good value
Great location for a night in Rome, nothing fancy. Walkable to all the Rome gems
A light fitting was damaged, there was a hole in the back of the bathroom door, there were no in room facilities (tea or coffee making facilities, glasses), the air-conditioning didn't work and the shower screen was broken. We paid $A790.00 (~€480.00) for 3 nights and certainly didn't receive value for money. On the plus side, the Hotel was certainly conveniently located within easy walking distance of some of the major tourist attractions and public transport (buses and Metro) and there were lots of restaurants, cafes and convenience stores closely adjacent. But if we ever returned to Rome, we would not stay at the Hotel Valle.
I stayed here with my sister and two sons. The rooms were clean, plenty of towels and had a fridge and hairdryer. We had two rooms joined, each with bathroom and shower. It was very clean and shower had amazing pressure. Rooms had air con which switched off from about midnight until 7am. We did take portable, plug in fan with us, so it was fine. An elevator to get upstairs which was great as i am disabled. Breakfast was basic sweet pastries, coffee, cornflakes and fruit juice. We were able to ask for cups of tea and espresso, which can be made fresh for you, as well as other drinks. Location is excellant. Four minute walk to Cavour Metro station. 10 mins walk to termini. Plenty of bus stops for connecting. On the tram route. Plenty of small shops on road, a supermarket style shop just around the corner. Surrounded by plenty restaurants and a water fountain opposite. We had fresh towels and beds made every day. Its a typical charming hotel. Its not the ritz but gives you everything you need. Staff can not be faulted. They were so helpful and friendly, and funny. Really enjoyed our stay and was sad to leave
Would not return
The location was great 5 out of 5. However the hotel was run down. There is no stairs to rooms only one small lift holds max 3 people. The rooms were ok size, bed was comfy, the shower was good. The toilet was next to sink had to sit sideways. The shower and doors had build up limescale and dirt. The curtains in the room had huge layer of dust. The furniture wordrobe smelled of mould. We checked in two rooms one had no aircon working eventually we swapped to a different room. The new room didn’t have a working key, so everytime we left and came back had to get receptionist to open the door. The aircon automatically turns off at night, so you wake up sweating. The free breakfast is fine, pastries and coffee what else do you need. It’s nothing fancy. The majority of staff were really nice and helpful, apart from one. When we checked in and also in the mornings, we encountered the guy, he was a bit rude and not helpful. Everytime we wanted to go to our room, instead of going he would tell us to look for the cleaner to open the door for us. Other times when other people worked in evening they escorted us and were very helpful. The cleaner we encountered at check in was also very friendly. This guy that works mornings needs to get some customer service training or basic manners.
I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the service and accommodations provided during my recent stay at Hotel Valle. My experience was marred by a series of inconveniences and unacceptable conditions that significantly impacted my comfort and overall satisfaction. Upon arrival after midnight, I was told that the room I had booked was not available due to an issue with the building. Instead of a seamless check-in process, I was subjected to the inconvenience of being relocated (walking) to another hotel at 2 AM. This disruption caused considerable distress and discomfort, especially after a long journey. Furthermore, the alternative accommodation lacked basic amenities. The absence of air conditioning in the midst of summer was intolerable, floor was socking wet and lack of water supply in the shower (have a video but this doesn't let me upload it). To make matters worse, the toilet facilities were in deplorable condition. The front desk person said there was nothing they could do at that time. These issues are not only disappointing but also unacceptable from a service perspective. Given the severity of these issues, I trust that you will understand the need for appropriate compensation. At the very least, I expect a full refund for the disrupted night(s).
Good for just staying the night. Convenient location
The location is convenient to the train station. However, it is a VERY noisy area. From our room on the 3rd floor, I could hear talking outside thru the night and trash trucks at 3:00am.
Amazing stay
Amazing stay in the heart of rome Everything walking dustance away Professional friendly service
The rooms are dirty, the windows open into a dark hall. The rooms smell really bad. Air conditioning not working... Breakfast is disastrous
it needs some renovation on the premises, location is walking distance to main attractions in Rome
Nice breakfast and friendly staff
Terrible Hotel (Dirty and Horrible)
I have already left my terrible expreince about this hotel. This sort of hotels should be investigated by ROME government and HOTELS.com. My first assigned room was very DIRTY and different from the picture. FLushing in bathroom did not work and room noise between rooms were quite noisy. Breakfast was terrible (only dirty bread and water and a juice). I could not complain to the receptionist because he was very strict and threathning (like a mob)). I politely asked him to change a room. Finally he changed it, but at first he didn't want it.
Would not stay if the weather is warm. A/C does not work in rooms and the conditions in the room are inhumane. 39 Celsius outside and the same in the room. Spent more time in the shade outside or in the hallways to cool down then in the room. A hotel should not be allowed to operate in these conditions, and not be able advertise “air conditioning” when the room is over 30 Celsius. When asked about it they said it was being fixed and after 5 days we knew that was a lie. Fridge didn’t work, bathroom was mouldy. Lobby ceiling is leaking. Breakfast was minimal and not great. Otherwise, good location, near lots of sights, lots of dining options.
Room to small
good location and ok breakfast , but bathroom needs more cleaning.
The property is in bad shape.. our first room was humid, smelly, dirty walls, AC was not! Working We asked for another room and moved our stuff to find out the AC was on but not cooling. The bathroom toilet smelled awful and had mold stains in the shower area. We complained to the lobby person and was told they would fix on the AC but that they had a limit on the number of hours it could run!! We had 2 hot nights.. breakfast was not what was shown on the website .. very poor selection of items .. even the coffee tasted weird. Staff was very rude and indifferent to our complaints. Pictures looked pretty good on the portal but our room was not what we expected.. would not recommend.
Besides the cleaning staff, front desk and other staff I interacted with were somewhat rude. The air conditioning they advertise gets turned off for the building every night at the same time and doesn’t turn back on till the morning. There were two electricity outages during my 5 night stay. Upon check-in I was told during check-out that I would have to pay the city tax which was fine. When I went to do so during checkout I was not informed that they only took cash. On top of all things, my room shared a wall with the elevator and due to its squeaking and hard stops, I was able to hear every time it was used. The hotel is also directly above a subway station so the whole building would shake every single day several times a day. I would not recommend staying here unless you can’t possibly find anywhere else to stay.
Nice place to stay but a room was small and shower needs repairs Overall nice but expectations were higher Nice and friendly stuff
A good stay for the money.
The hotel is in the city and easy to walk to metro (5minutes) or Coloseo (about 20 minutes). The staff is very friendly and helpful. The hotel is older and smaller, but similar to many European size hotels.
We stayed at the suites as we were a family of 4. The place was convenient food, Metro transport from the airport etc..The beds were comfortable enough as my husband and I like the firm bed. The only downside to that place was that we had to walk up a tall flight of stairs and that it could be noisy at night..
The man at the check in desk was extremely rude to my daughter. Insulted her weight by asking if she was pregnant, which she is not.
I will use again
No AC or Toilet flush
Front desk help was customer friendly and helpful. The room had no AC & toilet would not flush, smells odors etc.
The only thing was the beds were not super comfy and the AVA is tournes off at 0000
The hotel has a good location but the building it’s really old
Cheaper nick nack shops, walking distance to all the major sites. A restaurant next door and a shop for snacks and drink one minute down the road
Xray technician
Of course it was very amazing staying
Nice hotel, breakfast, close to the train station, great helpful stuff.
Great location rooms need an update
Barely any plugs in the room and the shower leaked everywhere all over the bathroom floor. Other than this the staff were really lovely and let us check in early and store our luggage, great location to explore Rome.
I booked hotel 2 month's before my stay, I emailed hotel inquiring about tours. I asked if I should book tours early and I was told " No need, hotel staff can help me when I arrive" WRONG most were sold out. I highly suggest book tours early. Hotel staff did help my book 2 tours, just not my 1st choce tour.
Room was not nice. Broken bathroom door knob, broken shower door, broken wall lamp at bed button was broken off. Mild dew in bathroom. Uncomfortable bed. Don’t advise you to stay here.
The property is brilliant the Staff are friendly Simona the manager and all the staff excellent..
Its terrible, run down dirty , cound not have a proper shower as head was broken (reported 1st day no-one even looked at it). Its certainly not as described on your site. I honestly would struggling to give it 1 star and has now made me very wary of using Expedia again
It was alright. The outlets didn’t work had to use the one in the bathroom
Definitely needs an update, the shower head wasn’t working, ceilings were mold green , the fridge didn’t work.
Hotel is in a great location and staff are helpfula s much as they could. we booked a double bed room which looked alright intially However, as we used the room, we found out the flaws, not all light as functioning. there is a television but the socket is broken and wallpapers are peeling off. There is a also a personal fridge but non functioning as well. There is only one lift that can only accomodate only 3 people and we were not shown any other option to go upstairs. breakfast is included in the meal and there is a lomitied option of breads, jams and some biscuit. they also offer coffee and cappucino or tea upon request. The breakfast area is cramped too.
Comfortable stay
Comfortable and clean room. Excellent service from staff. Close to main station which helped
close to everything!
Really bad
Booked last minute as a flight change messed our plans but we had another hotel that couldn’t do two nights. The staff are helpful and friendly but the room is run down. Had water dripping from the roof from air con which didn’t seem to work. Very small room with one power point, bed and tv not like the pictures on the website. The noise was so loud from the street below which is not the hotel’s problem but once it started to calm down on the street two people were talking really loud in the corridors for over an hour. Really didn’t sleep well at all. Bathroom was grubby and run down When we got to our next hotel we realised how bad it really was considering this one is 3 star and the place we stayed after was 2 star which was so much nicer. And the price of the two hotels was the same
Great location for affordable price
Room was clean but so old especially the bed was very uncomfortable to sleep. Blankets were dirty and ripped. No bidet in washroom, mirror was so old and patchy. Overall we were disappointed with the condition of the room especially what we have paid for.
it’s definitely a 2.5 star place. nothing more. but the staff is wonderful. always helpful. great area to serve as a home base to enjoy all rome has to offer
Pour breakfast with bathroom smell and the room smelling Terrible Doesn’t worth the money
Great staff, awesome location. Can't get oe ask more for the price.
Lovely little hotel. bad smell in the first room we had but they were quick to move us to a different room. Seems to be a problem in the area. Close to everything we needed. Great location. Don’t bother with breakfast it was ribena and donuts! But would stay there again
Good value for the money, friendly staff.
Good attention, poor facilities
The hotel was very well located, near from main attractions. The issue was that the room has a terrible smell and it seems that someone had vomited in the room. The bathroom was very small. The breakfast was only coffe and sweet bread. The best thing were the front desk attention. Alessandro and Simone were extremely nice and kind.
Semone and Alexandria did an outstanding job
Tiny tiny place. No hot water, scorpion in the shower and the sink drain wasn't attached to the wall so the bathroom floor always had water on the floor.
Great. Best people and nice breakfast
They were great! They check me in early because they have rooms available Simone at the front desk was great. Same as Alessandro and Saturday was Maso. Just nice happy people The man at the breakfast super nice. Cleaning ladys too. No i dont work there haha I just think this workers are great I be back
Great location. Brilliant staff. Not happy that water wasn't hot in the shower.
Cannot get an itemized invoice/receipt from Hotel
It was just a normal experience and fit for the purpose for which I came to Rome for. I have however requested for an itemized invoice/receipt for the 3 nights I stayed at Hotel Valle but was provided only the receipt for tax component of 12 euros! Several requests I made to the Hotel for the invoice to help claim the cost for reimbursement from my sponsors have not been responded to by the Hotel! Very disappointed on this issue.
Friendly Staff
Need updates the facility
Worst place I stayed as for a pillow didn't have because they booked out Bathroom filthy AC didn't work
The property is located right in the walkable interest points, with plenty of affordable restaurants everywhere. Room is spacious enough. The only con I can mention is the toilet that does not flush very good, probably to the way it was designed. Otherwise, the front desk staff is very helpful and friendly despite their limited English communication skills.
property was in an ideal area but was incredibly poor overall. The room was nothing like the pictures and beds were incredibly basic, mine was even broken.
The rooms were not as the booking photos depicted. Very misleading. poor beds and bedding. Dirty and hot.
Sr. Moreno welcomed us, very helpful. Good coffee & pastries for breakfast. Convenient
Sweaty stay
False advertising coz they got no air conditioning, they have a fan.No water pressure and water not really hot you got to wait a long time for water to warm up.Room smells like mold.
No air conditioning; room was over 90 degrees upon check in. Manager said they would fix it and we went to see Rome for a few hours. When checking back in manager didn’t fix air conditioning and told us “maybe” the next day it would be done. Pictures of rooms on orbitz are not accurate. Rooms are in terrible shape. Sewage backed up into shower. Bed was dirty. We made other arrangements and was told we would be refunded. When Orbitz reached out they still refused to refund in spite of us booking the another property with them for the same two days. Took pictures and video as proof to follow up with our credit card company. Shady managers on site. Terrible facilities. Rooms are horrendously outdated and not what appears online. Dirty. Rude. Does not supply what is advertised.
Close to everything, walkable to all the sights. The building is easy to find, presentable, my room on the third floor was small but perfect for me, lovely high ceilings and a nice view. However, it was very dusty, there was dust everywhere and the shower was very mouldy, and I don’t mean just a bit, but quite a lot. Would I stay there again? No, shame because in a really good spot. P.s. the restaurant across the street, Gallo Matto was really good, the sauce was sensational!
If you’re looking for a place to sleep, Hotel Valle is an option. It’s a pretty old building, which is probably why it smells a little musty. Otherwise, the room I got was clean, had enough space and there’s hot water. Again, excellent if you’re just looking for a place to sleep, everything is close by, supermarket, restaurants, and a highly rated gelato place right across! A/C only goes up to room temperature. Day time can get really hot, but again if you’re only gonna be in the hotel at night, opening the window is enough to sleep.
Teerible Hotel
This is a horrible hotel, with horrible costumer service. My first time in Rome and it was horrible. Very disappointing and unprofessional front desk.
Zero star. If you have a chance never book this
AC never works and both the Hotels.com or the Hotel staff never help you. The recptionist says the AC is not working because of building issue and it is not their fault. LoL
It's in such a convenient place 5 minutes walk from the train station 5 minutes to all the water taxis shops and dining is right there as you come out the hotel everything is at your fingertips staff are great very friendly and helpful the room was perfect for what I needed it for breakfast was really nice I'd recommended and I'd stay there again if I ever go back to Venice
Pros: Nice staff, good location , breakfast included (not great though) Cons: Aged, AC barley worked in the room, thin walls.
The hotel is in a very nice location, near to all the cites and museums. Near to to train and buses. The bathroom was a small and my room was next ot the elevator which was very noisy. Also the room had a portable air condition and that was noisy and i didnt use it at all
It was fine everything was near by
The room and toilet smell like sewage , breakfastand beds ate terrible ! Staff was helpful and the price is cheap , for one night is ok !
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, but the hotel room was not very clean upon arrival.
10 mins walk to roma termini but our washroom smell pee all over the place. On our 2nd night, we don't have hot water and air condition. I need to sleep on my relative room that night.

Super friendly
The staff at the desk were friendly and very helpful. They even helped us book our tickets to Milan for our next hotel
