Hotel Trastevere is a perfect hotel for visiting Rome. We were able to walk or take public transit to all the major sites in Rome. It's in a fun neighborhood with lots of restaurants. The staff is AMAZING! Every day they made us lattes, cappuccinos, and a delicious breakfast. I highly recommend Hotel Trastervere! We'll be back!
Such nice people!
I couldn’t have picked a better hotel. The rooms were clean and the staff was wonderful. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Location suited our needs. We had a situation where we accidentally took our rental car keys with us from the Rome airport. They were able to return the keys the next day. We had to ask for a later check out due to banking business and received it. cheerfully. I would definitely rent from them again.
Very safe
Father and son trip.
Our stay at hotel Trastevere, was wonderful due to the warm friendly staff. The area around the hotel was full of multiple restaurants bakeries and gelatos shops, we didn’t need to look anywhere to satisfy our hunger. The best part of our stay was the helpful staff and delicious breakfast they serve every morning.
The hotel was excellent! The staff were amazing and very attentive. The room was very clean and my family and I both enjoyed our stay. The breakfast was delicious and overall I recommend staying here. It’s surrounded by many restaurants and right at the center of the city!
Great location! The lobby and breakfast staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. The complimentary breakfast, area, and staff were welcoming, cozy, and a great fresh selection. The remodeled bathroom was nice but the flooring (carpeting) in the bedroom needs updating but for the price as is we would still stay here again.
The people that work there both at the desk and serving breakfast were very friendly and helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there because of the people. The location was very convenient too.
Nice stay at Hotel Trastevere
This hotel is charming; it is not the top of the line, but it is well-kept and very clean. The beds & pillows were surprisingly comfortable. The front desk attendants were exceedingly nice & helpful, and the breakfast was light but delicious, with multiple choices. Trastevere has a lot of nightlife, but our room was very quiet -- wonderful!
Located in a fantastic area, with great shopping, bars and restaurants all within walking distance. The staff are super helpful and absolutely lovely. Would highly recommend this property.
Excellent hotel, friendly staff, delicious breakfast
Good location. Staff very helpful and breakfast is delicious.
Close to many restaurants.
great staff
This is not a hotel. It was a hole in an old building. Depressing room. Do not use this place. It’s a floor of an old apartment building. Reception and rooms are in different buildings. Expedia shouldn’t advertise this place. Terrible! Don’t go unless you need a hole to take shower.
The staff are fantastic! Best of our 2 1/2 week trip across Italy. Fantastic breakfast included! Great service. Highly recommend!
A pleasant stay in Rome.
Enjoyed a one night stay, as a family. The staff were relaxed, friendly and very helpful.
Excellent location, walking distance to lots of restaurants. Walkable to the Coliseum as well. Best part was the staff who were super friendly and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful experience staying at your property.
Great location for sightseeing and good restaurants
Cute area
The hotel staff were very helpful and nice
Nice comfortable stay with delicious breakfast and welcoming staff.
The shower stall was extremely small and the bidet was right in front of the shower stall. It was little uncomfortable showering.
Love this hotel
Excellent family hotel with wonderful, friendly service.
Very friendly staff. Well located in a lively area.
beautiful old building, convenient to local dining and exploration but short walk to major sites and shopping. Great hosts and we will stay there again for out next Rome trip
Fabulous!
Hotel Trastevere was fabulous! The breakfast was perfect - great cappuccino, croissants (4 different kinds), meats, cheeses and hard boil eggs. The best part of the Hotel are the people who work there - in particular Guilia, Elina and Amandus! They go above and beyond! The location is perfect - lots of places to eat close by but also within walking distance of all the sites. We will stay here again and recommend to anybody going to Rome.
Clean, comfortable, lots to do within walking distance, super helpful staff.
We were so surprised to see loads of young people around! We walked a lot and food was great. The staff was super welcoming and arranged for airport transportation! They even woke us up when we overslept! We will be back!,,
The location is wonderful. The area comes alive at night and is surrounded by wonderful restaurants. Our experience with staff was always good as well.
The best service we've ever had.
The hotel staff was amazing. The entire staff were courteous, attentive, and caring. Pedro went above and beyond our expectations. The room was great. The location was great. The breakfast (croissants, meats, cheese, yogurt, toast, fruit, and cereal) was abundant. The cappuccino, coffee, and espressos capped the breakfast. We will stay here every time we visit Rome.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Perfect location within minutes of main Rome attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. Hotel cleanliness excellent and breakfast good. Recommend to anyone visiting Rome
The staff was super friendly and helpful. The hotel was very cute and close to so many cool places in a very happening neighborhood.
Third stay! Love this area!
Nice hotel in the heart of Trastevere! Friendly, professional, courteous and helpful staff. Simple, clean and comfortable room. Close to all restaurants. Can easily walk over the Tiber river to many historic sights. Easy 25 minute walk to St. Peter’s square!
Great staff. Great location. You can walk to everything. Great breakfast. Reasonable prices.
If you're looking for a clean hotel in a great location (quick to everything), then this is the place. Plus the staff is very gracious and helpful. Super professional.
Friendly staff, great breakfast, wonderful location
Hotel Staff is Lovely
All the staff at Hotel Trastevere are wonderful! They always made me feel at home and were very helpful answering questions and calling taxis, etc. As a tip, in advance, book your car from the airport through them. I was too late to get a ride in, but did book a ride back to the airport. the cost is 52 Euros and well worth it as the flat rate for taxis is 50 and they always try to get more. One thing to beware of is the noise level late at night, especially on Friday and Saturday as the area is full of bars and restaurants frequented by young people. The bed was comfortable. The shower was small You might want to bring your own sea sponge or buff puff. The air conditioner does not get super cool, but the nights were cool enough with the window open. The area is very walkable and it's easy to walk across the river to the old Jewish Ghetto where the food is really excellent! Breakfast was great! Selection of bread, croissants, cereals, ham, salami, cheeses, butter, jams, Nutella, juices, hard boiled eggs, and coffee made to order.
Welcoming and fun
Our stay at here was unbelievable. Our room was always cleaned ! The staff was so sweet welcoming and fun ! Breakfast was perfect! They all were very helpful! We would definitely stay here again !
The location is perfect for walking to the major tourist attractions. The hotel's biggest asset and selling point, is their staff. They were cheerful, hospitable and kind, going out of their way to make sure you felt at home and taken care of. From the receptionist to the housekeepers, they were the absolute best staff!
Budget hotel with friendly staff.
The staff, particularly Julia, was wonderful. Made us feel at home. We really enjoy Trastevere and the hotel is situated to take advantage of that.
This property was so conveniently located to explore all of Trastevere. The Hotel Manager, whose name starts with an “a” was terrific. He had such good recommendations and spoke perfect English. The staff was helpful and very friendly. I would return to this place any time!
Good staff amazing hotel nice area
The beauty of this hotel is in its location. It's extremely walkable to the main sites of Rome and around Trastevere where there is great options for food. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was old but clean, and looked out onto a cute piazza - but without being loud at all. Unfortunately we did find a (live) cockroach in our room as we were heading to sleep - which caused concern. That being said, we alerted staff and they were both surprised and responsive to the concern. Overall, it is a reasonable place to rest your head at night and the location makes it worth it, but it's far from a 5-star experience.
Charming hotel in very popular area. Staff very helpful.
The staff was wonderful and so helpful. Very friendly and happy to provide information or just have a little chat in English or Italian. Would recommend!!
Amandus, Giulia and Elena made of our trip an unforgettable experience. They were very kind and gave us important information of the places “to go”. We really felt at home!! On our first morning, we woke up at 11 am, and we thought we missed our free breakfast. When we walked down, Elena asked us very kindly if we wanted some coffee, of course we accepted it happily. Amazingly, they still had breakfast for us. This made us feel like they really care about their guests. I’ll never forget this place, and this people.
I wish the bathrooms had soap/conditioner dispenser in the shower instead of small tubes (wasteful)
All the staff were so wonderful and accommodating! Earlier breakfast was served because we had a train to catch and they made reservations for us at a fabulous restaurant that was hard to get into. The only down side was the noise from the street as the young people were extremely boisterous making it extremely difficult to sleep. A great find for a Rome hotel though.
Friendly and helpful staff, a wonderful place to stay
I would stay here again. The staff was absolutely amazing.
Incredible Staff - highly recommend.
Very good location, in a real Rome neighbourhood in Trastevere, but in minutes you are in the city Center. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was perfect. Freshly made cappuccino and a cornetto to start your day.
This is a great little hotel in Trastevere. My friends recommended this place when I visited in November 2021. I cannot say enough how pleasant and accommodating the staff was no matter what questions I had. I will be staying here again whenever I visit my friends again.
Loved hotel Trastevere!! Room was clean and comfortable. Complimentary breakfast- croissant and cappuccino- delicious. Great location in historic part of Rome. Very walkable. Best part of stay was the staff!! Knowledgeable, helpful and so kind! Will stay again!
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Thank
Excellent location close to best restaurants
Fairly spacious, comfortable room. Shower stall small but sliding panels kept water inside. We would have preferred a more substantial bread option for breakfast (the options were crusty white rolls and square white loaf slices, and croissant varieties).
My kids loved the bunk bed the most at this property. It was their favorite hotel in this trip. It's an alright location, close to restaurants and basilicas. And pretty central.
Nice hotel, well located, great amenities. I highly recommend it.
Not so good of a neighborhood graffiti on walls outside of hotel we were placed in a hall way away from the main hotel noisy bars on windows didn’t feel very safe
friendly helpful staff
Loved the staff! Very helpful and most pleasant.
Good location
Our personal cellphone and data reception did not work in our room. Had to use hotel WiFi. No chairs to sit in...beds and one desk chair uncomfortable to sit for a period of time. Breakfast selection was very minimal! Good location in heart of Trastevere. Friendly staff.
The location is good. The rooms are very damp and smell. I would not stay there again
Staff were very friendly. Place was very clean. It was a great experience for the price
A-
Great family hotel. Nice , clean, friendly and in central local areas with great foods and restaurants
We enjoyed our stay. The only downfall was that the A/C unit was poor and it was hard to sleep when the room was very hot.
Overall: good for the price. Breakfast was good as usual in Italy.
Very nice and friendly staff. Good location ..feels like home
15th century building needs 21st insulation
Amazing place, staff etc The only big problem is this stunning 15th century building really needs 21st century insulation! Hearing every single cough, laugh and conversation of the person in the room above was a big spoiler.
Nice hotel in Trastevere. A bit hard to reach by car. Clean rooms and friendly staff. The staff helped us call a taxi for our early flight.
Pros and cons
Service was amazing, friendly staff and the hotel is situated in a very good location ! However breakfast buffet isn’t satisfying, the rooms are not always heated, there is no safety box in the rooms nor is there a mini fridge.
The room is small. The bathroom is dirty. you could see hairs on the wall and bathtub. Breakfast starts 7:30 when is too late i think.
no soundproof, you can hear everything. Room is small
Liked the location. Very short walk to tram and buses. Plentiful restaurants in area including fabulous gluten free restaurant around the corner. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast staff very accommodating and solicitous. Room size was good however a large refrigeration unit was being stored in our room which was off-putting. There was limited walking space between bed and bathroom due to placement of furniture. Plenty of hot water but no soap dish so toiletries go on shower floor. Bathroom adequate but a very tight fit. The smallest piece of soap (size of a quarter) I have ever seen in a hotel. Bring your own soap bar!
Small hotel close to tourist points. Clean but very small rooms
Better to find other hotels
They charged the city tax really high without any receipt. The room is dusty. The morning shift guy is not nice
It was comfortable, clean, and had a good location.
Hotel is clean and the beds are the most comfortable in Europe!! Michealangelo and the rest of the team will help you with anything you need. I always felt welcome and very much at home here. The breakfast is good and the rooms are very clean. This hotel is a terrific value for the price and the location is great too!! I will be staying here anytime I am in Rome.
Excellent small hotel in lively area
Lovely area, excellent location of hotel. Super breakfast. Friendly, helpful service. Highly recommend this hotel
Basic facilities good and clean
As above. Nice place without frills. Good for Trastevere restaurant/bar crawl
Comfortable, helpful and friendly staff. Right in the middle of things
Great location
The hotel was in a great location. Easy to get to transportation to see all the sights. Great restaurants in the area. The hotel staff was very accommodating and friendly. The down side was that the room was very small.
Superb hotel in a great area
Very comfortable hotel. One of the best hotels I have stayed. Perfectly located for Tram stops & Trastervere's great atmosphere.
the Hotel staff is amazing, they even shared tips on where to eat.
Very good hotel.
A small hotel with spacious, clean and renovated rooms. The receptionist was very friendly and gave us lots of information about the restaurants near the hotel, public transport and a map that helped us a lot when exploring Rome. I defenitely recommend this hotel.
Rome Sweet Rome
Hotel is located in a great location in the heart of Trastevere....many restaurants, cafes and shops in the area. Service was very good, people very friendly. Room was decent, bed was comfortable, would have liked 1-2 comfortable armchairs to sit in after walking all day...only had 2 wooden table chairs. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast. We would have liked to have had an in-room safe available. Would definitely recommend this hotel.
The most accomadating front desk people ever!
The front desk people were amazing! We forgot our iPad and beats headphones and they shipped it to us! They were very accomadating. The location was great! Close to some very delicious eatries!
Great Rome location
Perfect location. n for me to visit friends. Lots of restaurants. Very typically small but perfect for one. Good price. My friend got there before me to wait for me to arrive and deskclerk wouldn't let her access the internet which was sad, but otherwise, everyone else was nice and helpful.
4th time I've stayed here while in Rome.
Love the location, in a quiet part of Rome, and yes, there is a quiet area. Many restaurants nearby. Buses, trams within walking distance of the hotel. Very nice breakfast. Staff go above to help guests. Just one of favorite places to stay when I'm traveling abroad. I'll probably be back next year.
Great location to eat.Major sites not too far.
The staff was friendly and very helpful. Great area!
Summer stay 2016
Overall the stay was pleasant. The room was extremely basic, lacking things like a kettle, bottled water & a fridge. The bathroom was a little spacious, with the luxury of a bidet. The breakfast was basic with an offer of just bread rolls, pastries, cereal & drinks. The hotel offer some good services such as calling taxis, airport shuttle & doors that are open 24/7 which was great for my nightlife! I would recommend this hotel as a cheap option for students & travellers who are okay with basic living and won't be spending all day & all night there. But if you are a family or a couple then there are hotels that offer more of the things you expect to find in a hotel for just a fraction of the price more. Hope this has helped!
Cozy hotel in a great neighborhood
This hotel was great for our family on a recent trip to Rome. We wanted to stay in the Trastevere neighborhood for a different point of view, and it was a perfect choice. The staff was very helpful, and the free breakfast was great to start our day. The only downside was no dedicated hotel parking.
My room on the first floor was cool and quiet, but the neighborhood is very lively and filled with restaurants and bars.
In tourist area
Close to transportation and city centre. Quiet area and close to restaurants. Close to a supermarket called Conrad that has really good prices for people that don't want to eat our everyday and cooked food (potatoes, rotisserie chicken, etc).
Your man from Cairo
I was attending a conference and stayed for three nights. I don't have anything really bad about this place. The mattress is softer than I would like and the desk chair is uncomfortable. However the neighborhood is nice and not far from the main street. Except for the clerk at the reception desk who didn't speak English I called after midnight requesting an early wake-up call, the service was excellent. I do think the three star hotel rating was overrated, but again it served its purpose.
great location, comfy bed.
Expensive for what you got. For 140/night breakfest should be included.
Nice hotel in a great neighborhood
We stayed here our last night in Rome. We chose it for the location and it was perfect. There are many quaint little shops and restaurants nearby and it's quieter than the center of Rome. Room was small but comfortable. Furniture just like in pictures, a little outdated but we didn't go to Rome to spend time in our room. The warm croissants and cappuccino in the morning was great.
