The hotel is very nice. The service was very friendly, and the room was spotless. Perhaps the only drawback is the bathroom, since it has an exhaust fan running continuously, it is very cold in winter. But other than that, everything was great. The area is very nice to walk around, there are good cafes in the surroundings, stores and lots of green areas. Also, very good connection by train and bus to other cities like Utrecht and Amsterdam. In addition, the hotel has its own restaurant and cinema which can be a good panorama for a rainy weekend. Highly recommended.

Zeist is a beautiful town. Quainter than Utrecht , which seemed busy. This hotel, for the money is wonderful. And the location is perfect for walking everywhere. Rooms are bigger than they appear. Beds are comfortable.

Perfect stay

Welcomed by very friendly and helpful staff, our room was perfect, comfortable and had great views too! Breakfast was more than you could ask for, always fresh and lots of choice. Hotel is in a great location too.

The courtesy of the emplyees called my attention, the cleanness of the place, the restaurant. I also liked the room, it's confortable.

I recommend this place for anyone ehos wanting a relaxing stay outside the city.. its prefect for children aswell due to having the theatre inside, the staff were super nice and friendly, always saying hello everytime we walked back into the hotel. Again i recommend this place!!!

Stayed in the penthouse which is great value for the money. Zeist is a not a tourist town which was lovely and has a very nice Indonesian restaurant that I can recommend.

I booked this hotel for 2 nights, it was decent enough but a bit old. Check in was a smooth process. Because I think it was decent, I extended for 2 more nights. The next day, someone knocked on my door with regard to the extension. The staff couldn’t wait, I said I am busy, getting ready to head out, I will come down to the reception, she didn’t seem pleased. That was the moment I didn’t really wanna stay there anymore as I believe guests deserves peace and quiet. As I headed down to reception, I went to tell her that I have decided to cancel the reservation, that was at 11 am. She said we still need to charge you for the day as you already booked, and your card is “fraud”. I believe that was really rude, it could be phrased in a better way that your card did not work or something but it seems like she was really aggressive. This was different than the person who helped during check in, that guy was extremely nice. I think this woman (staff) really needs to work on her hospitality skills and the hotel should not employ such people or at least teach the staff to treat guests with respect. I am extremely unhappy that I was charged for a day’s stay without even staying. I will never be visiting this hotel nor staying there again.

Excellent property and location

This hotel is amazing! It needs a fridge in the room but other than that, it's perfect. It's in a very very quiet area, Limited dining and shopping but with public transportation it's very easy to get around.

A well-run hotel with spacious room. Very comfortable king size bed ensured a sound night’s sleep. Very helpful and professional staff at reception.

I stayed at this property because another hotel I selected in de Bilt was full. It's my first visit to Zeist, and the Hotel is unusual with it's Theater and Bioscope options (which I didn't get to enjoy). It's convenient for bus stops (Het Rond) to travel to and from De Bilt daily, and the get to Utrecht Centraal station. Several dining options nearby and walking trails for a little light exercise or a good run. The Grand Cafe connected to the Hotel has good local food options and the staff in general have been helpful and friendly.

Short of being called hotel

There was no telephone in the room which is Hotel policy. The shower bathtub combination is dangerous as the floor is extremely slippery and there are no handrails. In addition the shower floor does not have any safety strips or is a shower mat provided. The breakfast is average with an acceptable display of items. An egg preparation station is non-existent. The front desk staff is congenial service with a smile and willing to help. The area around the hotel is quiet and safe with various dining options. It currently the hotel does not offer evening dining. I would not return to this hotel for the reasons stated.

A must stay.

Beautiful building accross from the castle and town hall. It is an older building but the rooms were large for europe. Greatocation close to public transport and all the shoppoibg and rearurants you could need. I rented a bicycle from the hotel and toured the town.

Have stayed there between 2 and 7 nights for 20+ years. Hotel has never disappointed me. The only minus point this year was that the wifi was too weak in my room but it was available in lobby and restaurant. Bikes available for rent. Good parking, easy access to shopping.

Have been using this hotel for business for the past year and never fails to be a pleasant stay. A lot of restaurants around the place so great for business trips. Bus stops near-by. Gym is quite small and not enough features to it

Hotel Theatre Figi, Ziest

Hotel is nice, overall; relatively modern and in centre of town. Shopping streets very close; buses to Utrecht stop opposite. Poor service in the evening bar/restaurant; we gave up and went elsewhere for a drink and something to eat. Restaurant was due to stop cooking 30 minutes after we arrived. Overall, staff are very pleasant and helpful. Lobby and breakfast excellent. Car parking permits provided free by hotel. Car park part of complex. Definitely worth staying in as plenty of eating places and bars close by. Bus to Utrecht takes approx 15 minutesto center of city. Train station is about 3 kilometers from hotel; better to use bus.

Place to stay at Zeist.

Location is 2 minutes from Castle, free parking. I could enjoy a good beer at 10pm and the room was perfect. Definitely a place for business travel.

3.5 star, clean hotel 15 mins from Utrecht station

A fine place (but out of town (Utrecht); need to take a 15-20 mins bus ride from the train station, Or, need to take one of several buses to get to the train station from the hotel. The bust stop is 50 m from the hotel so this is not bad even if you have luggage to pull). Once you figure out the routine of travel then travel to/fro the hotel is not too bad. Balance this with high cost of hotels in the city ... Room is OK -- has a fridge and a water kettle to make your own tea/coffee ... I'd call this a 3.5 star hotel ... Not sure of the b/fast as I did not have it here ... Friendly staff ... Wifi ...

Great location , all OK except street noise

Great hotel, own parking, helpful staff, Zeist easy reachable, easy car excess with own parking. In-house restaurant, cinema. Other restaurants within 10 min walking as are shops. Downside street noise at night.

NIce small town - too bad for the construction site around the hotel

Very nice staff. renovation taking place so only have a temporary restaurant which is in foyer. paper cups in room for tea and coffee not so nice for a hotel of this rating.

Nice hotel with amazing view if lucky!

I stayed here for 2 weeks for work. My colleague and I had booked two single rooms at the same rate but she ended up getting a nicer room that was newly renovated with more space, bigger bed, and new furniture and more convenient power outlets. I was stuck with a smaller room with two single beds pushed up together. The power outlets were few and in inconvenient locations. This would be my biggest complaint seeing as we paid the same rate and had two noticeably different rooms. Other than that, the value is great. The view was stunning of the city hall. Staff was friendly. Room was clean. The fitness center was a bit sparse on equipment and very small. Overall, for the value, I would recommend for short stays. The location is next to a bus stop and a 20 min ride to Utrecht city. For a more lengthy stay, I would look into a hotel with better facilities i.e. pool and better gym.

Excellent stay close to transit -great resturants!

Stayed 4 nights in July. Great location in Ziest. From welcome to departure the staff were gracious and professional, Lucia in particular went out of her way to help us. The hotel was well kept and had good safe parking. Shops and restaurants are close by. In particular Koffe tafel for Breaky and De Huiskamer van Ziest for dinner. Amazing homemade meals! Would definitely stay again !!

For the main hotel in the Zeist region it is disappointing the rooms don't have any air conditioning. The windows do open and naturally they are restricted for safety, but this was not enough to stop the room feeling like an oven. On the flip slide I have stayed during winter and the rooms have been cold, so it seems you can't win

Great hotel in great location

Excellent hotel, great location, whether you want to go for walks or hiking, rent a bike or take the bus to explore Utrecht, everything is very close! Staff is very friendly, the rooms are clean and quiet! Parking is free in a garage, so if you travel by car this is very convenient! This was my second stay and I will likely stay again when I return to the area!

I loved everything about my stay in this hotel, very clean, really comfortable, the location was great, right in the Centre of Zeist. The restaurant was amazing!

The place to stay

The hotel is really nice, the rooms are nice too. There's some lovely restaurants nearby, and the breakfast isn't bad either. If you're staying in Zeist then this really is the place to stay.

Hotel Theater Figi

The Hotel itself is good and the restaurant food is also good. The only downside to my stay was they charged my 5 euros for tap water in the restaurant. When I complained at the reception they said if you want free water you need to go to your room for that. 5 Euros for tap water is a complete Rip Off. Their beer is cheaper.

Overall fine for 2 nights. Any longer and I'd have been bored. Zeist is not a hive of activity at night.

Quick business trip

Arrived at the hotel, surroundings are lovely, but it was late at night so no time to explore. The staff were very welcoming, room was a decent size and had a good view. SMART TV meant I could plug my laptop in to watch a film was also a plus. The only criticism I would have much like the other reviews was the breakfast, very poor. Majority of pastries seemed dried up, warm breakfast didn't seem up to much and the range was also poor. I would recommend anyone staying to look before you buy and decide for yourself.

Good overall

Best hotel in the Zeist area. Nice rooms and ambience and friendly staff. I particularly appreciated the new eco-makeover including fairtrade refillable shower & bath products. Breakfast could be improved.

Very excellent hotel in the heart of Zeist

This is a really good hotel with excellent rooms, plenty of space, well appointed bathrooms. Everything worked. Very good value, and it's in the heart of town within minutes of a fine park, shopping centre, cafes, quality restaurants, public transport just around the corner. We always stay here and we book early so as to get the room when we want it.

Customer service was excellent, facilities we're very good as well. Looks quite old fashioned, not contemporary, was worried it would be stuffy but that wasn't the case.

Sleepy Holland

Quite a nice stay. Lovely room. Breakfast good. Dinner at the hotel's restaurant was good but I did not appreciate the fact that my bottle of wine wasn't opened at the table and left on the table in an ice bucket. It would also be great if there was coffee on offer in the room.

Four star....we think not

Married 45 years ago at the townhall across the street, we would have liked a room facing that way... However, we booked a standard room and that is exactly what we got: basic bedding, bland furnishings, sparse toiletries, a "view" onto some walls at the back of the hotel. Breakfast, not included in our room rate, offered no great variety, for the price paid. The outside patio is "cool" and uninviting (despite the beautiful weather at the time) , unlike others in the same area of town. Staff is ok, but not going out of their way to be friendly and welcoming.

great stay for a conference

I was there for a conference and it was great. Very clean, very helpful staff, my only reservation was the wifi was very unreliable. Sometimes I got on it and got kicked off in a few minutes, and in the theater it was difficult to tweet or upload because it was looking for a signal. The breakfast was a little expensive too, I'd probably opt out of that next time but its a lovely place to stay.

Ok for an overnight stay

I stayed in the hotel for 1 night, The room included: Twin Beds TV (with one English channel) Desk Hairdryer Iron (available at request) Mini bar What was disappointing was there were no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, and you could hear the noise from outside. The hotel is opposite a clock tower which chimes every 30 mins. The staff were very friendly and helpful and I cannot fault them at all.

Generally good location, ambience, customer service, hotel and room furbishing. The quality of breakfast was something that I, personally, feel could improve. The croissant was not flaky and buttery, the hot breakfast was dry and overcooked because it was end of service (10AM is end of breakfast). Other than this I would recommend it.

Good quality

This hotel offered everything I needed for a short business trip. My room was well-sized, the shower excellent and the breakfast buffet well-stocked. Added benefits were secure, free parking and free WiFi access. I have also stayed at the nearby Oud London hotel, which is of a very similar standard, though I preferred the room and location of Figi. I can't comment on evening meals and a minor quibble would be the lack of an electricity socket by the bed to plug my phone in (though I do realise that not everyone is a slave to the modern age!!).

Hotel Theater Figi - Nice, but noisy at weekends

Had a plesent stay until the Saturday night when what can only be described as a herd of animals went through the hotel. This crowd of people went down every corridor screaming and shouting and banging on residents doors at 01:30 in the morning. This lasted at least 30 mins - very surprising that this hotel would let this happen and not apologise to guest the next morning. Zeist however, is beautiful.

Comfort and quality in central Netherlands urban region

The Figi hotel in Zeist has a long and proud history as a quality family run hotel business going back I believe one hundred years. It underwent a tasteful and thoughful refurbishing in the nineties, and combines its premieses with the Zeist performing arts centre, which has an excellent progam throughout the year. Highly recommended.

Hotel Theater Figi

The hotel was comfortable. The beds were strange. my son and I were traveling and the bed was 2 twin beds pushed together on one large headboard. Which from looking in other rooms as we passed they appeared to be all the same. So we pulled our beds apart for some room. On the weekends the disco was directly below our room so we stayed up till 3:00 AM till the fireworks and music stopped. During the week it was quite. Breakfast was included - we did not find this out for several days and it was very good. I would consider this hotel again for the next trip to Holland.

Es ist ein schönes modernes Hotel mit leckerem Frühstück Das einzige was nicht so optimal war, was der im Schrenk versteckte Fön, der dann auch nicht funktionierte und der recht kleine Fernseher.

De kamer was erg warm, te warm dekbed voor het seizoen en niet overal even schoon.

Sehr nettes Personal, sowohl an der Rezeption sowie im Zimmerservice und am Frühstücksbüffet. Frühstück international und alles vorhanden. Gute Lage, 100 m vom Schloss entfernt, gute direkte Busanbindung zu Utrecht direkt gegenüber von dem Hotel. Gutes eigenes Parkhaus mit Fietsenstall, allerdings 15 EUR pro Tag. Die Zimmer und Betten sind o.k., es könnte ein wenig netter eingerichtet werden. Die schwarzen Fliesen fanden wir nicht so toll und nicht wohnlich. Ansonsten aber alles o.k.

Moderne, schöne Zimmer, alles sehr sauber, sehr nettes Personal, sehr gutes, reichhaltiges Frühstücksbuffet.

Stayed for two nights while visiting family. Won’t be back again. Outdated rooms in need of updating. Insufficient cleaning with grease stains on the walls and a bathroom with long hairs on the floor and beard clippings on the wall next to the mirror. Pillows were lumpy and uncomfortable. Didn’t really interact with the staff and didn’t eat the hotel, so can’t review those parts.
