Great backpackers stayover hotel for those travelling through Gare de Lyon but a bit cramped for those with larger suitcases and requiring greater comfort necessary when of advancing years
Convenient location near train station . Able To walk everywhere and close to Everything. Many restaurant options & some shopping . Quiet room , clean , and very friendly, courteous staff.
Nice staff and location - Shame about the noise
Staff were great for my 2 day stay. Bed was comfortable enough and pillows soft. Bathrooms are cramped and room is small. Can bare with that, but for 2 nights the room was noisy due to thin walls. From above the room and to each side. Closing of doors, showers, steps in rooms, stairs in corridor all heard. Yet no noise from outside. Ruins what could be a decent hotel at an affordable price. No bottled water. No extra toiletries like conditioner or cotton buds.
Great for one night
The rooms are compact, which is great for a late arrival or an early start. It might be a bit small to use as a base to explore the city over a longer term. The staff are excellent.
Very close to Gare de Lyon. Use Metro exit 1. Friendly staff, comfortable bed,
It’s an excellent option because is nearest by the station
Across the street from Gard De Lyon
Front desk staff is very helpful and friendly. Room was clean and had a small fridge which I love. Noise from other rooms was an issue. Elevator is very small. Bathroom is nice but also quite small.
The location of this property is excellent for trains and metro. However it can be noisy if your room is on the street side. Rooms are quite small and dark. Typical of an older hotel. Not enough outlets. Bed was ok. A good value for a short stay but not as comfortable for our 6 nights.
Everything was to my entire satisfaction. Nothing I can complain about.
Excellent location, so close to public transport & lots of dining options. Staff were very helpful & courteous, breakfast was delicious. Unfortunately my room wasn't soundproofed enough and guests next to me played music to all hours. One night I was woken up after midnight while they had a loud conversation on their phone.
Property is located just across from the GARE de Lyon, which makes it great for travelling via train and the Metro. There are many cafes in the area so very easy to find a place offering good food. The rooms are clean and neat, making it an ideal location for visiting all the different site in Paris
Tres bien
This is a fabulous location for staying if you are venturing further into France via train at Paris Gare de Lyon. The restaurant was fab for a vegetarian and I felt completely safe on my own. Travel from GdeG airport (terminal 2 trains out into downtown Paris) was extremely easy which included 1 change - hop across the platform at Chatelet de Halles and 1 stop to Gare de Lyon. It is a HUGE place and whilst the hotel website states its about 700 yds from the station - you have to know which exit to come out of...On a Sunday evening after 9pm there is not much in the way of people at info booths available so its best to ASK someone (even after you have done all the research) which is what I did and I found the hotel easily BUT WITHOUT THE ASKING I could have pounded the streeets for hours - 700 yds could have become 700 miles!!! The hotel website showed lovely rooms done up the one I had was more then adequate and comfortable but it did lack the finesse of a throw and extra cushions on the bed, the decor of walls and pics was lack lustre but for a 1 night stay - no worries. If I'd stayed 2 nights this would have made a difference ot my rating under property conditions to 3*. Haviong said all that my view from the juilet balcony at the back of the hotel was a lovely surprise - a lawn laid roof - FA-BU-LOUS. I will use this hotel again.
Great location and food
A very short walk from the station where we were to catch a train for the next leg of our journey. A traditional looking hotel but we were surprised with a small balcony. The room had everything we needed, and was clean and well serviced. We decided to eat at the attached Italian restaurant and the food was excellent. A buffet breakfast was in the same restaurant and was also very good. We only stayed one night, but it was in a good location transport-wise for a longer visit to Paris.
We stayed for 2 nights on the way back from the French Alps. Originally we had only planned to stay for night. Then our plans changed and we decided to come back from the mountains one day earlier and booked an additional night with a new booking. We have stayed at Hôtel Terminus Lyon many times in the past, normally when going to the Alps. This was the first time when we decided to avoid the taxi queue and just cross the road to the hotel. That was a wise decision. Anis was very friendly at the check-in and made the necessary changes so that we could stay both nights in the same room. We had breakfast on the first morning. It was very good and had everything what you would normally expect: Jams, bakery items, ham, cheese, bacon, cereals, yoghurts, tea, coffee, fruit etc. We had room 45 facing the inner yard which was very quiet and peaceful. It also had a smallish bathtub in the bathroom, which we liked. We will happily stay there again in the future.
We stayed for one night mid-August on the way to the French Alps. We know the hotel well as we have stayed there regularly for over 20 years nearly every time we are on the way to the mountains and have an early morning departure from Gare de Lyon the following morning. We have always been satisfied with the rooms and the hotel overall. This time we got an upgrade to room 50 on the 5th floor, and were even more satisfied than normally. The room was bigger than the standard double room, had a lovely big bathroom with a bath and a balcony. We really appreciated that. Of course it had the standard room features of a fully stocked mini-bar and a kettle. The service both on check-in and check-out was excellent.
Front desk should be more welcoming
Staff was helpful and approachable. Buffet breakfast was good quality. The room was compact but clean, restful and practical. The atmosphere in the hotel was calm.
Although our room was a little dated and small for 3 of us (with one double and one single bed) it was spotlessly clean and staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a safe in the room and coffee/tea making facilities. The location, opposite the Gare de Lyon station, was ideal for us with lots of places to eat nearby. Would definitely stay here again.
Great location! Best spot in Paris. The elevator wasn’t working for many days but the staff was awesome!
Only needed a bed for the night. Close to Gare de Lyon.
Breakfast at 5:30am because we had a very early flight. The front desk was super.
Appreciated being able to store baggage ahead of check-in. Excellent breakfast buffet with variety of options.
Excellent hotel for short trip with family. Service was very accommodating.
Great location with easy access to all modes of transportation to get around Paris. The staff was always very friendly and the room was clean. We appreciated the high quality windows that kept the sound of the bustling street below out of our room when it was time to rest.
Great location and staff were lovely. The rooms are a bit tired and need to be spruced up to make it worth the money.
Decent hotel - really nice people.V enjoyable stay
Booked this hotel as it is close to Gare de Lyon and price was not insane during the Paris Olympics. We were passing through Paris (from Eurostar to get TGV for Turin). The staff at this hotel are wonderful. The Cafe adjoining the hotel is good. We had a really great stop over and plan to stay here again whenever we repeat this journey.
Excellent
Exceptionally friendly and helpful staff. Room very clean and beds super comfortable which is rare in a hotel. Booked last minute after a previous booking feel through but everything ready on arrival. Family room which was cosy but perfect for what we needed it for. Excellent location opposite mainline rail station and metro. Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a comfy clean place to rest their head after a day of exploring this fabulous city.
It was very close to the train station.
No complains for the price we paid during Olympic season. Very friendly staffs. Beds are comfortable. Very quiet and clean room, small but functional. The only drawback was that the elevator went out of service the next day we checked in, and had been off through our entire stay.
Helpful staff, comfortable stay
helpful reception staff and comfortable stay, amazing location. breakfast staff couldn't speak a word of English.
Across the street of Gare se Lyon
Everything was good
Under my expectation
Great location across the road from Gare de Lyon. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room is small (to be expected in Paris) but neat and tidy. Bathroom excellent, everything functional. Continental breakfast is good value at €13
Good value for money
Very convenient for Gare de Lyon. Staff were helpful and friendly. Family room was comfortable. Didn’t try breakfast.
Extremely conveniently located close to all transportation and amenities (grocery store, restaurants).
It is the best hotel in Paris for all my times visiting Paris the room is very big the shower and the WC is large the hotel is very very very very clean the staff very friendly and very helpful thank you for all to the hotel mangemant good luck
It was very convenient location after long train ride (TGV) Easy to access to all the popular places in Paris.
A wonderful find just opposite the Gare de Lyon. Friendly reception staff and my room on 5th floor towards back of hotel was clean, quiet and air conditioned. Breakfast was nice, buffet at €13. The immediate area has lots of cafes and bars. I tookm a walk along the Seine after dinner which was just 5 minutes walk away.
This a great hotel for thr Gare de Lyon, walking distance to the River Seine and Nôtre Dame. Good and varied multiple eating places. Nice breakfast and pleasant staff. Well worth it.
A functional hotel.with very pleasant staff literallybacross the road from Gare du Nord. Breakfast options are unimaginative and probably to go outside of the hotel to one of the brasseries within touching distance of rhe hotel. The room was clean with a surprisingly large bathroom and a mini bar which was reasonable stocked. If you like luxury then the Marriott Courtyard across the road is for but if you want a bit of charm and convenience this is the hotel for you.
it was a good hotel / rooms were a bit small my only complaint. very near the station so handy in that regard
Overall hotel is good. It is across from the train station, so very convenient to go around. Since we were taking the train to Nice, it was quick walk of 5 mins. Also, has restaurant downstairs that has breakfast. The room was very tiny, but other than that location was fine. Staff was friendly and courteous.
Pleasant hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Excellent for overnight stay if planning to travel from Gare de Lyon, which is just across the road. High standard of room for a 3* hotel.
The hotel is very good located in front of Gare de Lyon terminal. The area around is very nice, is full of bars and restaurants and is very easy the transportation to everywhere. Rooms are confortable with a nice balcony. Bathroom are very small and some issues with the lock.
Lovely welcome - so handy for Gare de Lyon. Room classy and spacious. Helpful staff
Sf
Great having breakfast & dinner provided
Pretty good railways hotel with well thought out unpretentious rooms which will be due a revamp fairly soon. Easy tried and tested process checking in and out.
The perssonel are friendly and kindness, the breakfast was delicious, butThe lift is too fit , The Room is too tiny, the bed are too tiny they are so fit for an adult person. The rate do not correspont to the quality of the faciligties.
Friendly and helpful staff and ideal location just opposite the train station. There are a few restaurants and supermarkets in walkable distance. Perfect for family stay
Dated, not very clean.
The decor was old fashion, and may need a bit of updating, but it was clean, comfortable and the staff was really friendly
It fits the bill.
It was what it was. An overnight stop near the station. Nothing special.
Not friendly
Five star service
Great service and hard to beat the good breakfast and dinner included.
Very comfortable, clean and fabulous staff. Just across from Gare de Lyon and only 2 stops on RER from Gare du Nord
very close to gare du lyon. comfortable stay
Blood on the sheets , bedside lights not working , uncomfortable beds . Notified reception about sheets but nooone did anything
Very good service and location is perfect if Gare de Lyon is one place you need to touch
Great location close to Gare de Lyon
The best recommendation for this hotel is that we have stayed there many times before. It is a right opposite Gare de Lyon, making it ideally located hotel if you have an early morning train to catch. It is close to RER A and D and metro lines 1 and 14. Place de la Bastille is 900 meters away and Notre Dame de Paris is 2 km away. The room had a nice shower, airconditioning, a safe in the closet, a kettle, coffee, tea, sugar, etc. They provided packets of shampoo, shower gel, and body lotion with pictures of the Eiffel Tower. The staff at the reception were friendly and polite. We would happily stay there again in the future.
Hotel within 3 min walk of Gare du Lyon Train Station so very convenient location. Roads were very busy around the hotel - typical Paris! Room was basic, clean and had AC. Staff very good, friendly, informative. 10 min walk to River Seine to catch a hop-on hop-off boat for a day of visiting the sites. We were allowed to leave our luggage with reception after checkout and collect later which was great. Room was expensive for what it was, but this is central Paris so to be expected.
Very good for price. Friendly staff. 24 hr reception. Room with a view and small balcony was a nice surprise!
Very well situated for the Gare de Lyon. Friendly staff and good r rooms with reasonable amount of space. Very convenient for transport links
Perfect for a stop over as we were travelling from the Garde de Lyon the next day
Hotel could do with a upgrade. Staff were extremely helpful and pleasant.
Really great for a family in a really convenient place. Staff super helpful
This was a great deal which included breakfast and dinner each day. Room was a small but all rooms in Paris are small. The location was great and very easy access to Gare de Lyon train station. It was noisy on Friday and Saturday night but the rest of the nights it was good. Hotel staff was great. We did have a hard time getting and iron but next time we will pack a portable iron. I would stay again. The only isssue we had was not the hotel but the metro 14 line was closed at Gare de Lyon. That is the only line that will get you over the seine and to the C line which is the one to use to get to most city sites. We just walked about .5 miles to Gare aulwitsz.
Great location for transport & sightseeing
Nice chocolate, that is the only nice thing to say.
The hotel doesn't look anything like the pics. It is very tired, old fashioned and grubby in decor in common parts. The lift could barely fit 2people in it and the stairs from ground floor to 1,st floor are being refurbished so wood and plastic on tape all up stairs. We stayed in an executive double, which was far from executive. We had our teenager with us, so they set up the sofa bed which meant there was literally a foot round both beds to get around. It was so closed to the door to the room that you had to come in one at a time as you couldn't open and close the door if someone walking round. The bed was reasonably comfortable and there was a nice bar of chocolate in the room. The satellite channels didn't work so no English speaking channels, even though it advertised satellite and the YouTube option on the remote didn't work . We paid nearly €300 for the night and it felt like a €75 room in a grubby hotel. The Italian restaurant on the ground floor was quite nice, as was the breakfast, gifted to us. Great location for the Gare du Lyon station.
Due to the fact that the hotel is old building, the elevator is way too small, the room for four people is so congested that there is no room for suitcases and other personal items to be easy access. Construction inside and outside of hotel daily.
It was great to be able to stay within steps of Gare de Lyon. The room was clean and comfortable. But the walls are so thin we could hear every sneeze, cough, and every word of conversation from the room next to us. Otherwise, the staff was friendly and helpful.
Nice hotel in a great location. The “half board” food service was a wonderful surprise. They stay was an excellent value.
I am not sure how this hotel received any reviews any higher than passable. The hotel is very outdated and could use some serious “sprucing up” (no outlets by the bed…etc). The area is very convenient when traveling to and from Gare de Lyon.
Great Location-train & metro stations, bud stops, grocery store, bank atm, restaurants! Friendly staff at the front and cafeteria. Highly recommend this hotel.
Hotel at steps away from La Gare De Lyon, friendly staff. The rooms are small but they have all you need for a confortable stay
Great location, breakfast is ok.
Again a reliable choice
The best recommendation for this hotel is that we have stayed here many times before. This hotel is a reliable and convenient choice for people who need to take an early morning train from Gare de Lyon the following morning. He had booked 2 rooms for 4 people for 1 night and were again happy with everything. All the expected services are there: There is a jug of drinking water on the table next to the reception, there is a minibar in the room, and there are free toiletries in the bathroom, the rooms are clean and well insulated. The service at the reception was friendly and efficient both on check-in and check-out. We will be happy to stay here again when travelling the following day from Gare de Lyon.
Friendly and helpful staff. Handy for catching the train from Paris to Lyon.
I wish we were informed that the hotel was under renovations and that Wifi was down. The area is very walkable.
Alright place
It was alright for one night stay in Paris, does the job
Friendly staff and spotless hotel.
From the moment we checked in to when we checked out everything was excellent. The lady who checked us in and out was so friendly and very helpful. She was really warm. The room was absolutely spotless with lovely pillows and bedding and the room also had air conditioning. We couldn't fault our stay and would definitely stay again.
Great hotel in Paris
Amazing stay - great staff, amenities and location. Next door restaurant Fosca was outstanding.
To Noisy , rooms and bathroom too small
Small but very clean
This is a very convenient hotel near the Gare de Lyon. Staff was very nice; breakfast was excellent. The room was very small but adequate. There included dinner was convenient (Italian next door), but one can do better likely on one’s own. Still, for a weary traveler in the rain, it was good.
Situated immediately in front of the Gare de Lyon, very clean and friendly...Brilliant staff and service. The hotel lift was old and unpredictable. The wifi not to be relied upon. Could do with a little refreshing the decor. Very quiet on the inner court yard.
Great for morning trains
Practical, ok petit dejeuner and great reception desk service
Breakfast was really good, the room was quiet, everything was clean
Well equipped and affordable hotel.
Opposite Gare de Lyon, so busy road, but with excellent local public transport, too. Adjacent cafe (of same name) is a smoker's hotspot. Efficient reception staff, despite some initial confusion as to whether I'd paid in advance (I hadn't !) Single room VERY compact, but had almost everything ideally provided. Air-conditioning, good quality safe, excellent shower with angled grab-handle, sufficient wardrobe space, empty refrigerator, comfortable bed, and TV with multiple channels for overseas visitors e.g. in English, there were 4 from BBC, along with CNN, Al Jazeera and Bloomberg. Only gripe was that washbasin too small for conveniently washing your face ! Central stairwell (and fire escape) also deserves praise for its design and ease of use.
Very nice hotel, small room but cozy, did enjoy my stay
Friendly and good breakfast
Hotel Terminus gare de lyon
It was excellent, very clean, spacious room (double ).Staff very helpful and polite Will stay there again.
Clean comfortable welcoming and excellent location
Very clean, excellent value for money, welcoming reception, large room, perfect for Gare de Lyon. Only problem was people in neighbouring room talking loudly until 2 am but that is not really the fault of the hotel, although soundproofing (insonorisation) could be a little better. I really love this hotel; one of my favourites in Paris! I look forward to staying again soon.
Good value for money. Clean and very welcoming staff
Lovely hotel
Truly fine hotel - clean, quiet, comfortable, right in front of the Gare de Lyon. Polite welcome, sanitation rules (COVID time!) perfectly respected.
Stayed 2 nights and excellent location if you are catching an early train at gare de lyon. Pro: lovely staff and check in was quick and swift. Room was actually big for paris standard and the bathroom was very huge and spacious. Balcony was a plus and faces the train station. Only con was the AC was very warm and doesnt seems to work well. Overall for its price point and location, it was excellent and i will stay again.
Hôtel Terminus Lyon | Hotel in Paris | Travala.com
The Hotel Terminus could not be more conveniently located, right across the Gare de Lyon (as the name implies). We had booked half-pension, which allowed us to have a very pleasant dinner in the adjacent restaurant, which doubles as breakfast room in the morning.
