Comfy beds, clean rooms with lovely views of the snow capped mountains. My kids particularly enjoyed the breakfast buffet.

Neat, tidy and well located

Good location, room and clean no great but ok

I liked the breakfast and the location. I didn’t like that the water in the shower had such extreme temperature changes that we were getting burned and frozen every 5 seconds… probably from various flushing toilets at the hotel…

Great location, value for money and amazing staff

Basic Room (fine) but missing hot water

The gentle man that checked us in was friendly. The room was basic and we were glad to find a room to accommodate a family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teen kids). The beds were firm (firmness is a personal preference, but for me much too firm for a comfortable night's sleep. The most frustrating part was not having hot water for showers. One person showered around 9:30pm and the shower was fine. The second shower was around 11:30 and it was cool/cold (not freezing but definitely not warm or hot as you'd expect). The morning showers were also the same. Mind you that the first shower that was warm was not excessively long using up the hot water. When I checked out in the morning I alerted the woman to the issue and she said that the only thing she could offer us was another room to shower in. At that point, we had already showered (too much of an inconvenience to try to solve the problem when you are already in the shower). I was disappointed that we weren't offered any compensation as we paid quite a bit for the room and didn't have the basic services like a proper shower.

Pretty old & outdated, but staff were kind & breakfast was included.

Good value for money

Cold buffet breakfast was basic but delicious and plentiful. Room was comfortable and clean. Hotel is a short walk from the centre, up a hill. Staff were friendly. Good value for money.

Could be better

Just need to be friendlier, room service forgot our towels on second day, when we requested them from reception response was like we had done something wrong. Room is basic. Breakfast basic and crowded.

Great but warm

The facility was amazing. Rooms were clean, and had great air flow. This was important since there was no a/c, and we stayed during a warm period. The includes breakfast was good as well.

Everything was great, it was nice to be in a hotel close to old town innsbruck and have the option for parking a rental. Morning breakfast had something for everyone 😋

Perfect hotel

You can't ask for more. Nice rooms, comfy bed, clean hotel in a calm neighborhood, good breakfast buffet. Also directly next to the bus line bringing you to the two mountain areas.

Great location for sight seeing. Room and bathroom clean and comfortable. Breakfast ok but uncomfortably busy. Parking didn’t work for me. Nose to tail on a narrow lane - leave keys at reception so that other cars can be moved. I understand the dilemma faced by the hotel but I wasnt comfortable with the solution.

The hotel is simple and nice. The parking was free but you need to give your car keys as they rearrange the cars in the parking lot. The breakfast was so simple and nice.

Ok stay outside of City Center

It was about right for the price. Inexpensive for the area, but a bit of a walk from the city center. The bed was uncomfortable, and the breakfast buffet was not very big.

An old hotel with plenty of charm

This place was totally fine and good. If this is where your budget is, have no doubt you can expect a decent stay.

Pleasant stay

Hotel was good & reasonably priced. breakfast small but tasty. Room comfortable except for pillows and was noisy if other guests got back late. Is about a 10-15 min walk up a hill from the old town or you can catch a bus.

Just fair

To make it short; Pros: The staff was pleasant, location is good and the parking is free. Cons: The room was pretty smaller than expected, the Wi-Fi was very weak and there was no AC available.

Quiet?

Room next to the door/reception very very noisy in the morning with people leaving at all hours. Plus parking was an issue with cars being moved constantly. Not the quietest place to stay not all down to the hotel some down to the other guests

Wont be back

Chose this place for parking, ended up leaving my tesla on the street 5 mins away. Hotel is worn, needs a refurbishment. Bedding clean but glad to leave.

Overpriced, gloomy, dated, lack of care.

Gloomy old hotel in need of updating. Poorly maintained. Our bathroom window glass was cracked and so was the glass door that led to our balcony. The reason the door was cracked was because it didnt shut properly - fix it! Towels were rough, grey, threadbare and tattered, more like €20 hostel towels than €100 hotel towels. Bathroom suite was old, everything needed brightening up. Breakfast was adequate. Staff were pleasant and location was good to walk to the city centre. There is no lift. Our room was up 54 steps with our heavy cases. The view of the mountains does not compensate for this hotels shortcomings.

Ok hotel

Ok hotel, nice helpful staff. We had a family room in the basement and it was very hot. The window only opened an inch so not a great night's sleep. It also smelt of damp which wasn't great. Breakfast was nice.

Great hotel at an amazing location. Daniele at the front desk was super friendly and helpful. She gave us great tips and had a map ready with explanation for us when we left the room!! Best front desk person ever!!

Place is near the old town. Room is good enough but nothing spectacular.

Close to Altstadt in quiet area

If you like walking this is a great place to stay. Just know that it is part way up a hill and has limited parking. Stuff was great. The rooms are a bit dated but still good value.

Older hotel but it was quite clean. The walls were a little thin so we could hear neighbours across the hall who had young children. The hotel is in a great location to walk to old town and the included breakfast was quite nice.

I stayed for two nights I couldn’t sleep because my pillow not good I did asked The reception to provide anther pillow And just ignore me

Look elsewhere

The hotel is very close to the historic centre, which is its main redeeming feature. The breakfast was adequate. The hotel looks dingy and cramped. The parking is very tight and cars are parked blocking each other, so you need to leave the keys at reception. We had a room below ground that was not very clean. The bathroom was old-fashioned, badly cleaned and presented. All in all not a value for money choice.

Perfect stay

Our stay was perfect. Fantastic location, 5 minute walk from city center. Breakfast was included and was delicious. Something for everyone. They called a taxi for us when we needed to get to the train station. The beds were super comfy!

Wonderful, quaint, family stay

The hotel was exactly what we needed for our family of 5. There were plenty of beds, the shower was great, and the breakfast was perfect for our children. The only downfall was being on the top floor with no elevator.

Holiday vacation 2017....

the hotel was a little challenging to find, or should I say the road to the hotel, but good signage to follow. The staff was very accommodating, family room was comfortable, and the location provided great access to town and other sites while offering a nice walk to venues.

hotel itself is very old and not up to date. we think it is over priced and shoud be a lot cheaper. location was great. clise to the bus stop and old town. we appreciated their laundry service for 8 euro per load (washing & drying)

We stayed for 8 nights during the International Winter Games. The location was perfect for us. The walk into the old town of Innsbruck was easy and only a few minutes. I was able to jog across town to our furthest point of interest in only 10 minutes. We had no car so parking was not an issue for us but clearly it is a significant challenge for those with cars. Our only serious issue was Staff smoking in their office, which is right outside the breakfast area. The smoke permiated the entire building which we found intolerable. On the pair of days non-smoking staff were there, the situation was resolved. This seems like a simple fix if staff are instructed to smoke outside. We ate breakfast every day, it was fine, even for 8 days.

A decent choice

Our GPS did not recognize the street (GPS coordinates would be a great addition to the web site) but signs were adequate to find the hotel. Parking is very limited and we did not get a spot but were told by hotel staff that blue line parking is free on Saturday and Sunday- great! It was still a challenge to find some parking near by. Had a room on the top floor so it was quiet- no elevator so just be aware. Breakfast was typical European cold breakfast- quite adequate. Easy to walk to the old city center from here. No discount coupon at this hotel (someone else had one from another hotel). Room was clean and adequate- had a small frig but had to unplug TV if you want to use it. Beds were fine for us.

Tautermann Stay

The price was very good and the breakfast (included in rate) was the best we had in Europe. Once you know how to come and go to the Hotel it is convenient to all areas in Innsbruck.

Not that impressed!

Water in room from recent storm. Bed sheets were damp and when asked staff to change they commented it was because they always iron their bedsheets whilst damp. Not really pleasant to sleep on. No lift, and as I had ankle problems walking 4 flights of stairs was a little difficult. Parking somewhat complicated as the hotel had to fit in a lot of cars in a small car park. No on street parking nearby.

It was a bit of a walk from the train station especially pulling a suitcase over the cobblestone streets. We would have taken a taxi, but one wasn't available and local people said it was a short walk. But we made it!

Fun, authentic local hotel. We had room with 5 beds! Very clean yet basic. Great location, in a neighborhood. Nice views from large double window that opened. Parking tight but available for free. Free breakfast was perfect. Only negatives were no air conditioning (it was 95+) and no fan in room. Took turns taking cold showers. No free wifi. Kids loved authentic feel. Would recommend!

The staff was very friendly. All types of people stayed here from older families to small groups of singles in their twenties.at first glance it was kind of strange because it looked like it was plucked out of 1995. Definitely has not been renovated in a while. But rooms were big enough for all four of us. Everything was definitely clean and felt comfortable. It was a very easy walk down to the town. Do note that if you are driving as we were the turn you must make to go up the street to the hotel is just a tiny street you might think of it as a small alley or walk way, Squeezed in between two buildings. But this is an actual street where buses will even travel through. It wasn't the most beautiful pat first glance it was kind of strange because it looks like it was plugged out of 1995. Definitely has renovated in a while. But rooms for big enough for all for this. Everything was definitely not clean and felt comfortable. It was a very easy walk down to the town. It wasn't the most beautiful place we stayed on a trip. But it was good enough for 1 night :-

Good Value - Exactly What We paid For

This place is a good value--exactly what we paid for but nothing fancy. It's near all of the places we wanted to see in Innsbruck--everything was within walking distance. The breakfast was excellent--we definitely ate our fair share.

We had a great time in Innsbruck! booked this hotel for two nights, changed to three, then to four. room was good, had a small bathtub with the shower. variety of choices for breakfast and plenty of cappuccino! would stay here again because of the close location to the old town and friendly staff

Good for family of five!

We liked having the 5 beds!

Easy to get to, bus takes you right there. We were leaving before breakfast so they gave us a plate of breakfast to take to our room in the morning which was nice. The lady working gave us quick directions to the centre where there is lots of expensive food. The biggest downside was the man who worked there. The wifi wasn't working but we suspect he gave us the incorrect password for it and when we asked he said it just wasn't working. Due to the Internet not working we couldn't look up on the IVG website how to get to the train station the next day as the bus runs on a weird loop on a one way road. The man working wouldn't help us figure it out saying there was no direct route and told us just to take a taxi and then when we went downstairs and there was a public transport map on the wall where we were able to see a stop within a 10 minute walk. A bit disappointing - all he had to do was look at the map.

A great location near the old city and the river. Pleasant staff, free parking and breakfast were included. Luckily we are healthy since it's a climb to the top floor with heavy suitcases!

We got this room a couple of days prior to our stay so only had a basement room. close enough to center, staff was helpful, up on a hill, free parking. I would recommend.

Close to City Center

We stayed overnight on our way from Germany to Italy. We were very pleased with the hotel's proximity to the city center. It is only a 5-10 minute walk. This allowed us to see a lot in a short time period. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Good room with lots of beds

Our stay was great the staff was really helpful. I will say that the parking is really tight so if you drive to the hotel, make sure you get there early as there aren't that many spots and it's really tight in there. The room was nice and big. For my wife and I we had a two double beds and a single in our room? Don't know if they are just all like that. But we walked to the main part of town a very easy walk cutting through some short cuts that the staff pointed out for us.

Close to downtown...

Was a good location for walking to see the downtown sights (avoiding any driving)... Only a marginal hotel, but the price wasn't bad.

Ideal for a short stop in Innsbruck

Hotel Tautermann is located about five minutes walk from the beautiful centre of Innsbruck (downhill into town, uphill on the way back). There is parking at the hotel (a real plus in the city). The staff were really friendly and there was a very good breakfast in the morning. We had a family room with four beds, which was spacious and clean with a good bathroom and an excellent shower. The decor of the hotel was generally a bit dated and tired, and the beds were not the most comfortable, but this is a friendly, convenient hotel with real character. I would highly recommend it for stays of one or two nights. Maybe not ideal for longer stops or if you will be spending more time in the hotel.

Nice older hotel, good location

We ended up in a basement room with what could be world's smallest bathroom (and it had a fan that sounds like an elephant my kids thought). The room was clean & the beds were comfy. The staff were all very friendly and nice & the breakfast was very good.

Affordable in Innsbruck

We were able to walk to this hotel from the train station in about 20-25 minutes. We loved the location (enjoyed walking uphill behind the hotel through the neighbourhoods) and it was super close to downtown/old town (under 10 minutes to the golden roof). We had the 5 bed room and it was great for our family of one child, a couple and grandma. The beds were comfortable and the hotel clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good (nothing fancy but perfectly adequate). I'd most definitely stay here again given the super location and relative affordability for this location.

A nice 10 day stay

There are two bus routes that go straioht past the hotel (H & J) from the Train Station. You walk 5 mins down the hill and you're at the river. Just across is the Golden Bridge and all the old town. A very nice stay for the price. I moved room when I got here and got a nice double next to reception (yet very peaceful).

Clean Recently Renovated Hotel

The hotel had been recently renovated and is located a short walk down hill to the old section of downdown Innsbruk. Our room was large and tastefully decorated. Wish we had stayed more than 1 night Sept. 2013. The breakfast was ample, well presented and good. The staff particularly the front desk was accommodating and friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel and would stay again should we return to Innsbruk.

Thoughtful Receptionist

The receptionist heard we were leaving early so she offered to open breakfast 30 minutes early, allowing us time to eat. Breakfast was beautifully set with fresh, quality variety. Room was ready for 5. Very clean and comfortable. No A/C but at altitude doesn't matter. I would definitely stay there again.

Wonderful service

Tautermann is a 10 minute walk to the old city center, and the cable car. The room for 3 was small but fine for our purposes. Not a fancy hotel, but an extensive Austrian breakfast. The great attraction was the service....the best in three weeks of traveling through Europe. They did our laundry for 5 euros while apologizing that it might take a half day to do and gave us a recommendation for dinner that was spot on.

Basic but Good

Overall-Good Hotel Room-Basic. Furniture showing its age and no remote for the TV; however, the cost fit our budget. We needed a family room with 5 beds, which is hard to find in Europe. The room was spacious and CLEAN--most importantly. Good size bathroom with extra sink in room. Breakfast-Included. Typical European breakfast with cereals, breads, meats and cheeses. Very Good. Staff-Very Friendly Location-Easy walk to the historic part of town (less than 10 minutes). Parking-Free but you must leave your key for them to move cars around.

Great Hotel

We loved the hotel. I was there with 2 teen-aged children. Plenty of room. Very quick walk down to the old-town of Innsbruck. Right next to a university, so tons of college kids around - which we liked. Front desk workers were awesome - very good English. Only warning is the TV. We had watched earlier and the Italian sports station advertized the NBA finals would start at 2 AM. We wrote down the channel number and went to bed. When we turned to that channel at 2 AM, it was no longer sports, but PORN! So beware - at some point at night - some of the TV stations turn to full-on porno. Overall, highly recommend hotel. Next time we'll leave the TV off at night!

Mountain Views and Excellent Breakfast

Comfortable rooms, very kind, and helpful staff. Located close to town though you have to walk a big hill to get there. Great breakfast, cheap internet, and large windows. Very satisfied.

Hotel muito justo.

O Hotel é bem honesto e justo. Limpo, nao tivemos nenhum problema com agua quente mesmo no inverno.Nao utilizamos estacionamento, mas de fato este é pequeno, embora isto seja claro. Importante atentar que o hotel fica em uma colina e para quem chega a pe, possui uns 400 m de subida, que é suportavel e viavel, mas é preciso saber. Ha pontos de onibus proximos vindos da estacao. Vale ressaltar tambem que nao ha elevadores. Cafe da manha bem bom e agradavel e funcionarios simpaticos. Como sugestao, o Hotel poderia substituir os vidros transparentes do WC por vidros jateados ou escuros, enfim... nao transparentes

Durchreise

Hotel war für diese Preisklasse okay. Leider war der Wasserdruck sehr schwach, so dass nur ein ganz schwacher Wasserstrahl aus der Duschbrause kam, also ohne duschen weiterreisen.
