Beautiful resort in the middle of town, great food, on the ocean. Only complaint room was small.
Property needs to be updated and is definitely not a five star property. Tile in room was cracked in several areas. AC wasn’t working half the time.
Love love love! I've stayed here before and come back to this location due to the amazing experience. Never disappoints! From the monkey in the tree right outside our room, to the iguanas and nature everywhere. Beautiful location! Amazing hotel staff! A
Bugs, right outside the room door I was staying in was not appreciated. I noticed all rooms had it. Most of the staff was welcoming and hospitable. Water in the room shower could not be controlled to any temperature at all.
Lovely hotel. Decent food options and great breakfast ! Queen beds are small but loved the location
The resort was beautiful and the rooms were lovely. The grounds could have been better maintained. In this area we didn’t see much for wildlife but there was a family of monkeys in the trees at the resort which was great!
The property is exceptional, perfectly situated on the beachfront, making it ideal for surfers. There are numerous breakfast options, including gluten-free choices, and the room had a delightful aroma. The staff is wonderful, incredibly friendly, and the hotel is well-maintained.
Great location and service Staff is very friendly
So pleasant
A wonderful day for my wife and I in advance of Christmas
Great location! Beautiful room and clean. Definitely a 5 star in my books. Would like to go again.
We had a room with the tropicana pool view. It was quiet and we felt surrounded by nature even thoug we were in the city.
Property was beautiful, clean but the staff at the front desk and all over the property very unfriendly and unprofessional we stayed for a week and the only one person at the front desk was nice his name was Juan (Argentinian ) young man. Never bothered to asked if we needed anything. Really bad customer service
Don’t know if I would go back.
So close to earning the fifth star. Just little things like better quality toiletries (add conditioner & body lotion). Have towels available at the pool across the street, provide drinking water at the pools, our dresser tops in the room were never cleaned (I cleaned the rings from glasses!).
Great location.
It was a stunning location. Included breakfast buffet was delightful. Liked the available excursions. In town so close to restaurants/shops. Onsite dining also wonderful
The Diria is a wonderful resort and the pool side is excellent as the pool area is serene and beautiful. The breakfast was varied and a convenient way to start the day. Tamarindo is generally quite expensive. There are many good restaurants and several markets to check out. Sunset on the beach with live music is also a great place to go every day.
The property is well maintained and the staff is amazing but one policy was not service friendly. Pool towels are only available at the front desk by trading a ticket with them as a deposit. If you are staying by, or just using the pools away from the front desk, it is very inconvenient and unnecessary. Make the trade for pool towels available at the pools. Both pools have employees there anyway!
We liked all the areas of the resort, on both sides of the street with all the pools and the adult quiet pool. We tried most of restaurants, which were reasonably priced and easy pay with the resort bracelets. The beach is nice but not easy for swimming. The beach chairs are not on the beach, they are on the grass in from of the beach and around the pools. The breakfast is wonderful and has lots of options for everyone. The staff was wonderful. We liked our room except for the room control display and the AC light display that impacted the room darkness. We we able to cover to make the room darker but would recommend using sleep mask if you like to sleep in a dark room. Overall, I would certainly return to Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort, which is on the beach compared to other resort we considering.
It is a beautiful property. The room is spacious w a balcony. We wished that they put in a bit more effort for such a big resort. For example there is no hand soap, lotion or conditioner. They provided 1 small bottle of shampoo and body wash per room. It is a small details that make it a 5-star rating for us
Everything was good except we had to ask several times to get our room cleaned
great
Extensive and delicious breakfast included to start your day. Many restaurants and bars within walking distance. Lots of activities close by for all ages.
This is my 2nd stay at this resort. It’s close to the local town and within walking distance to shops and restaurants. Friendly staff, clean rooms. The only suggestion I wished they had screen doors on the balconies so you could open the doors without letting the mosquitos in.
Old and terrible maintenance rooms
Beach
The hotel itself is fine. It should be made clear that the hotel is separated by the main road running through the town. We were not impressed with the town as a whole. I was offered a selection of drugs as we left the hotel for dinner one evening. We left the resort 3 days early.
Its time to renovate the rooms Broken shower Small rooms
The staff are friendly and attentive. Overall we felt very safe. The pools are clean!
I absolutely fell in fell with this place! The location is perfect with walkable to everything, the views from the lobby and main restaurant were gorgeous, beachfront, they have several pool were you can order drinks and food! The staff is so friendly! I will be back!!
Staff were rude when asked about filling a water bottle.
I couldn’t find an elevator or easy access to the rooms, Law7600 demands accessibility to all persons
The Resort is nice and big, but don’t have any music or show for entertainment on the evening while you at the bar or for dinner time. Everyone was looking for something to do
A beautiful property. Relaxing and comfortable. So close to everything.
Wonderful staff. Breakfast had many options and was delicious. I’d go into town to book tours though… cheaper.
..
Nice location. Note- half of resort is across the street . Not beachfront
The room was not very clean, sheets were dirty, table was broken and the room needed to be updated at least painted to say the least. The lobby was very nice and the restaurant was was as well.
Property was beautiful with lush gardens. Convenient location to restaurants and shops. The 4 pools were clean and well maintained. Staff was friendly and helpful. Definetly felt safe and welcomed. Our room was smaller then expected but contained the essentials. We stayed during a very wet season, so clothes stayed damp and was a bit of musty smell in room. Even though it rained everyday, there was still lots to do. I would definetly recommend this property and stay here again.
I loved the hotel and area. We stayed at the pool side and it wasnt a problem to walk to the breakfast or ocean. Very nice staff and beautiful facility. Even have a 24 hour urgent care on site. Loved the large pool and restaurants nearby. So close to everything and safe area. Only suggestions for them would be to heat their hot tub, put conditioner in rooms, more towels, and improve the water pressure in the shower. We really loved it and would def go back!
The location is excellent. The breakfast is very good. The rooms and stairways could use some updating and scrubbing to be cleaner as well as bathroom off dining area. Also they do not provide conditioner and shampoo so bring your own. No hot tub which was disappointing as we did have rain and larger pool area lacks chairs to lay on.
This place is really nice and the best location in Tamarindo!
This was our 3rd trip to Tamarindo, but our 1st time staying at Diria. We will now stay at Diria every time we come back. Can't wait!
The hotel is stunning! It was nice to see they have an adult only pool as well. The landscaping around the hotel is very well kept and the rooms are comfortable and clean. The AC worked perfectly. Had a very comfortable stay and would love to come back. We really enjoyed our stay!
.
Beautiful property with an open flow and staff were friendly and happy to assist in every manner.
The hotel was beautiful. However, the mattress was very hard and uncomfortable.
The rooms were a bit small but other than that, I enjoyed my stay.
Beautiful place!
Diriá was amazing ! All the staff , hotel kept so clean ! Breakfast buffet so yummy ! Ex beach & ocean access & ez to walk all thru Tamarindo town ! Wel’ll be back asap ❤️Pura Vida
The hotel is very convenient and clean , I like it because is right beside the beach. All staffs are nice except the receptionist none of them are cheerful, no smile at all and not friendly.
Absolutely perfect!
We all loved our vacation at CasaConde
Beautiful
It’s location to everything is awesome!
Great location and extremely friendly staff
Best place in Tamarindo!
Love the view
We enjoyed our stay here. Its location is perfect for walking into town. It feels safe and is clean. Staff is attentive and helpful. My only recommendation if you have an ocean suite room is to request to be away from the restaurant as you will hear early morning kitchen noise. (That’s my only complaint)
Good security, close to ocean great dining
Fun town very busy property ok little dated bed broke middle of night was comped a dinner on ocean but service slow and food very average! Breakfast very very good and free with stay! Beach has lots of horse poop but view nice! Stay on ocean side much quieter other side of street loud construction and bars with late nights
The beach
I stayed at the Diria for a conference, but I also had some down time for fun and relaxation. The neighborhood was great, safe, lots of restaurants and things going on all day and evening, but not "crazy" and noisy. Just enough. The beach was beautiful, and as a photographer, I found no shortage of things to photograph whether it was a walk first thing in the morning, or on the estuary tour booked through the hotel. I also rented a car and was able to venture out to some other places. Just be aware, Costa Rican roads are imperfect to say the least. The main road is OK and leads to several other areas, but the secondary and tertiary roads are often dirt with potholes or moderately paved with potholes. It takes awhile to get used to, but if you're careful and take it slowly, you can get out and explore if you rent a car. Parking is free on the hotel premises. The conference room was great, and the snacks they gave us each day were awesome. I mostly ate dinners at other venues to try local restaurants, but the gelato place at the hotel was out of this world! I ate more ice cream in a week than I ate all year! And the breakfast buffet at the hotel was extensive. I couldn't decide each morning what to have. Though I did go one morning to the Breakfast Grind, which was fantastic, and I had a little lunch at the Waffle Monkey which is not to be missed! Hanging out at the pool bar one afternoon with new friends I met who were vacationing there was great too!
We absolutely loved oir one week stay at Diria. I traveled with my husband and two kids (aged 3 and 14) and everyone had a wonderful time. The pools were fantastic, we took a surf lesson, i got a lovely body wrap at the spa and we and ate at a few of the restaurants. Food wasnt the best but it was convenient and hit the spot when the kods wanted to stay at the pools or beach rather than go out for lunch. The best part was the staff. We had such wonderful and attentive staff at the bars and restairants . Brenda was our poolside server on most days and she was great. She took fantastic care of our family and we felt very well taken care of. Also Marco, the host, waiter at the steakhouse (although he said he isnt usually there) went above and beyond with his service. We were so pleased overall and cant wait to go back. Best beach, solid location. Everyone was happy.
This was a very convenient place to stay while enjoying Tarmarindo beach. This property is in the middle of the tourist area of Tamarindo, which has pros and cons, but was perfect for our short trip. We enjoyed beautiful sunsets from our ocean view room.
Absolutely amazing hotel! We couldn’t have asked for a better time! The hotel was clean and beautiful! Staff was friendly and quick to clean room every day. There were security guards at every entrance to make sure no uninvited guests came through. The monkeys in the trees were such a delight! We will definitely be back here!
I loved that every thing was in walking distance. I hate the noise in the morning from the landscapers. They were cutting grass at 7am! However I still recommend this property.
I loved everything about this property besides the bathroom, it was quite small to place your belongings. But the location, the grounds, the staff EXCELLENT
Excelente hotel
Excelente estadia con una super pieza en el primer piso y frente a la piscina. El desayuno fue muy bueno, solo un detalle, en muchos hoteles dejan sus maquinas dispensadoras de cafe todo el dia pero acá no, solo a la hora del desayuno.
Property was beautiful, we loved all the amenities. The only negative I have was the staff were not overly friendly or helpful.
The staff was AMAZING! Anything we asked for assistance with was immediately handled.
Was so amazing! Highly recommend it was so beautiful, the staff kept the property clean 24/7 .. loved that the excursions was affordable and close by. Only downfall was the people on the beach that try to Hassle you about buying stuff
Diria was an outstanding resort. Great food options. Pools and beach were great. Friendly staff. I would highly recommend
We have stayed here before although it has grown a huge amount in 8 years. We love being right on the beach and there are plenty of good restaurants at or next to resort.
Friendly staff
The gardens and piil were well maintained and nice to look at. Beach access and restaurant on site were a plus. Staff were very friendly all around. Rooms seemed a bit outdated. The room temperature was hard to control, you were either hot or freezing. The beds were very uncomfortable.
Overall very pleased with my stay at the hotel. Great location right on the beach. The staff was great especially the folks at the tour desk. Have to give extra praise to Norby who works at the tours desk in the reception area. He was always happy and smiling coming over to say hello. Truly embodies the Pura Vida vibe of Costa Rica. The property is nice and always felt safe. Only minor complaints I have are the gym equipment is a little dated and prior to arriving I contacted the hotel 4 times via Expedia app, through email and called and left a voicemail and did not get a single response. I just had a few questions and was trying to book some excursions. Besides those minor complaints we enjoyed the hotel and would stay again and recommend to others.
The check-in left something to be desired as it ended up in a bloom that was unacceptably small and grease all over the floor. It was quickly rectified by the front office There is a situation with very few hand towels, and when they give them to you, if you don’t use them, they take them back
I love the front view to the beach from my room, love the birds and the sound of the ocean… Sunset was amazing!
EVERYTHING WAS GREAT!!! CANNOT THINK OF ANYTHING I DID NOT LIKE! VERY SATISFIED AND HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
Had ants in the room
The idea of the hotel is great. But for the price it felt run down. The pool was not super clean. Bar drinks were terrible. View was amazing. Especially at sunset.
The male bartenders were extremely rude & unfriendly. The locals were also very rude.
Horrible experience
Location is nice but the rooms are outdated and need repairs. The location was across the street and was a surprise. You can hear parking lot noises and it seemed like staying in a dorm. Customer services besides concierge wasn’t friendly and I had to beg them to clean my room. It’s overpriced for sure.
The gentleman that helped us with our bags was extremely nice and helpful. Showed us right to our room. Bartenders were rude and slow.
Our room was outdated and dirty. We didn’t feel safe leaving our passports in the safe since the safe wasn’t attached to anything and could simply be picked up. Our room was located on the first floor by the parking lot and was very noisy at night.
Nice beach town
Great location, lots of places to eat
Great place to stay if coming to Tamarindo.
All nice but room could be upgraded a little bit
Great family resort at an excellent location!
I had a wonderful time at Diria tamarindo, Im planing to go Back soon
We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to returning to Tamarindo Diria Beach Resort. Lovely property, friendly staff and out of this world breakfast! Highly recommend.
Everything about this place was top notch. The food, atmosphere, cleanliness, the views and staff. We’re already planning a return trip. The only thing I can see that needs improvement is the parking. Beyond that, what a great place to spend your vacation
Helpful staff and Convienent location
Safe, clean, great air conditioning and great staff
Great
The property was immaculate. I would have imagined the staff that was in immediate contact with patrons would have been able to communicate better in English given with the large amount of American tourists that stay at this property. The drinks were ok. The food was great!
It was a wonderful stay. We spent 3 nights there and extremely enjoyed it.
The good: multiple pools and location of the hotel. The bad: The rooms around us were under renovation and big parts of the facility felt like a construction site. The fact that there are two facilities, one across the street from the other is not convenient, especially when the pools are in one side of the street and the towels are on another side. Despite the safety guard, we didn't feel comfortable having our kids cross the street by themselves so we had to walk with them every time. Almost every day something was missing: one day - no towels in the room. Another day - No toilet paper. People were roaming in the halls, shouting at 10pm and 11pm. Finally, the common areas, the halls, the lobby, are super slippery. Given the heavy rain it felt like a safety hazard. We've seen dozens of people almost slipping and we had our share of almost slipping multiple times a day. Didn't feel like the staff cared about any of this. Definitely not a good experience.

The Diria never disappoints. This was our 8 th stay at this resort and it was again fantastic.
