Staff is very friendly and available to assist with your needs. Location was great with walking distance to beach and main area.

Not lgbtq friendly. When checking in, the receptionist said that they gave away our one bed room to someone else since they saw 2 male names and assumed we didn't want one bed. Also, wifi does not exist in certain rooms including ours. The water went out due to a city pipe break the following morning. I asked for water to wash my hands after going to the bathroom when i discovered the water was out, and receptionist first said, "what do you want me to do? I haven't washed my hands this morning" and was serving the breakfast. He reluctantly gave me 3 small bottles of water.

Sphinx hotel was awesome! It was super cute and located in a great area near a beach, shopping, and lots of restaurants. It felt like we were in the heart of Naxos. The staff were also fantastic and gave great suggestions on what to do in the area and how to use transportation to get to other areas. This hotel is definitely a must!

Great affordable spot near the beach and shops.

This funky hotel has loads of old school charm! Easily seen from the street so you dont get lost 😉 and surrounded by lots of food options, 300m from Agios George. The staff were also so nice, Antonio helped us book a day trip bus tour and helped navigate our day trip to plaka beach! Beds could have been a bit comfier, but it was still a great stay no regrets at all 👌

The place is great. Clean yet has personality. The front desk people were kind and laid back. The rooms are good. The shower and sink in my room were updated. AC did its job. Wifi was a little slow, but you find that at many places in Naxos. It's a great location and really you can't lose with it.

10/10 experience at this hotel and will definitely be staying here next time I am in Naxos! The staff treats you like family and is so helpful with suggestions for an authentic experience. Way better than I could have ever imagined!

Our stay at Sphinx got the job done. It’s nothing fancy but it was clean and the bathroom was very nice. We liked that it was within walking distance to the main city area.

Good value in a very good location .

Large room .Very comfortable mattress and non feather ( good for allergies)pillows. Plenty of warm/hot water for showers . Lovely staff, who are very willing to provide information on buses, car hire plus other transport etc if needed and generally go above and beyond to help. So kind. Buffet breakfast good value at 7€ per person (June 2022). Only downside was that wifi signal wasn't very good in our room but worked well in the seating srea downstairs near reception .

Positive: the staff was very friendly and helpful in navigating Naxos and getting a lot out of my time there. Negative: the bed was so uncomfortable, I didn’t get any sleep. The noise level from the halls was also very high and it just wasn’t easy to get any rest.

Loved the location with choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner right by it and a 5 minute walk to a beautiful beach! Excellent service, very polite employees always with a smile and ready to assist! Unforgettable vacation!!!

Cousins running the hotel are simply amazing and super friendly. If I ever return, Sphinx is definitely the place where I am staying. The location is perfect as the hotel is located right in the city centre. If you rent a car you can leave it in front of the hotel where there are reserved parking spaces for hotel guests. Sphinx is extremely clean. The rooms get cleaned and tidied up daily. Towels are also changed daily. Everything is perfect and I couldn't recommend the place more. You cannot go wrong with staying at Sphinx.

The staff members were very hospitable. They briefed us about Naxos , gave map and bus timetables, were available all the time. The property is close to everything in the main town- the beach, the centre and the port. The hotel was really cheap for the facilities it offered. Will recommend everyone to book this hotel, it's beyond good for this price

Walking distance to everywhere, the location was excellent next to car rentals, a supermarket, restaurants and a bakery for your everyday groceries. Excellent staff, very kind and helpful with everything. Well decorated room with modern bathroom. The one and only disadvantage is that there was no hot water early in the morning or late at night. Except for that, our stay was exceptional and we will definitely book again.

I loved the location and that might be the selling point of this hotel. I did not like quality of internet connections, but that will be the case anywhere in Naxis (Island, satellite internet). Relax and take advantage of low connectivity during your trip.

Brilliant location between the town and the beach. Walking distance to the port. Friendly helpful staff at reception. Good choice at breakfast. Very spacious rooms compared to others we stayed in the Greek islands. Great balcony. Modern bathroom.

The staff were helpful and gave us serveral options for dinner and directions on where to travel. Location was okay. The bathrooms are small and showers very difficult to use. The beds are uncomfortable. The rooms were clean. You get what you pay for when staying here.

Good for the price

This property was adequate for what we needed which was just an overnight on our way back to Athens. The room is older and could use an upgrade. The price was right and the hotel staff was pleasant and helpful.

Nice hotel for the value.

This hotel was good for the value and a nice hotel. Anthony at reception desk when we arrived was very helpful in pointing out areas of interest and restaurant selections.

Would stay again and again

The location of this hotel couldn't get any better. Both the beach and the center of town were just a few minutes walk away. The hotel was nicely decorated and has character. The staff was very helpful and gave great advice on what to do in Naxos. It was not the most luxurious hotel but for a few nights on the island it couldn't have been any more suitable

Home in Naxos

Lovely family run hotel. The 2 cousins who manage the front desk are friendly and extremely helpful. Everything you need is across the street-small supermarket, bakery and crepe restaurant. Short walk from port, old town, beach and buses.

Great Location, Not-so-Great Staff

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hotel Sphinx for two nights on a 10 day trip. At first, the service was very great. The man at the front desk (who I later found out was the owner) explained the main attractions in Naxos and the bus schedule, which overall made the trip so much better. The hotel is also a great location: less than a 15 minute walk to the port (which is near all the restaurants, shops, and nightlife) and a 4 minute walk to my favorite beach in Greece. The bathroom needs an updates or two though. However, the night before we left we tried to ask the front desk helper (a different man this time) to print our plane tickets for us. He didn't speak English very well so it was hard to communicate, but he promised he'd have the tickets to us at 11pm. When we didn't have the tickets then, there was another man at the front desk, who spoke NO English, who called the first man and he said he'd have our tickets by the time we left the next day (7:30am). Come 7:30am and still no tickets, and another man at the front desk who not only ALSO didn't speak English but was very rude, we finally got the boss to come in because apparently he was the only one who spoke English well and knew how to use the printer. Once we finally got our tickets, none of the workers understood why we wanted out tickets a WHOLE hour before our ferry (even though we asked for them 11 hours ago and wanted breakfast before our long trip home first). Overall dissapointed with the staff.

Tidy and quaint with great customer service

I loved the hotel. The staff was attentive, resourceful and polite and the room was clean, tidy and quaint - right in the heart of the Naxos. My father left his wallet in the room on accident, and we didn't realize it until we were back in Athens. The proprietor overnighted the wallet (free of charge) to us in Athens. 5 stars and 2 thumbs up! Highly recommended!

Mycket bra läge mellan hamnen och stranden. Många hyrbilsföretag längs gatan. Trevlig personal, frukosten kunde vara bättre.

Tres bien

Très bon hotel. Nous avons été très bien accueillis par les 2 associés. Les chambres sont très propres, bien entretenus et silencieuses (nous étions a côté de la réception). L'hôtel est situé a 10min à pieds du port et des hauteurs de la ville, et 5min de la plage la plus proche. Le quartier est très calme et proche de tous commerces. Nous reviendrons !

Agréable mais avec quelques désagréments

Nous avons passé 9 nuits à l’hôtel le point fort est le personnel qui est très prévenant et avec la volonté de rendre le séjour agréable. Deux points négatifs, un lié à l’hotel avec des problèmes d’écoulements d’eau (nous avons eu une inondation avec 2cm d’eau dans toute la chambre) réglé partiellement mais non résolu) et deuxième points notre chambre donnait sur la rue et elle était très, très bruyante avec un répit entre 03h et 06h et c’est dommage. Néanmoins nous garderons un bon souvenir.

Υπέροχο δωμάτιο με μινιμαλ διακόσμηση. Καθαρό και βολικό. Η περιοχή πολύ καλή, βρίσκονται όλα σε πολύ μικρή απόσταση. Θα το προτιμήσω ξανά.
