In the heart of EUR area, close to shopping center and surrounded by green areas. Recently renovated, great value for money!
I’ve been to Rome and stayed in Eur 10 times. Several times at the Shangri-La. Unfortunately, this most recent stay will be my last at the Shangri-La. When I entered my room, there was a hand towel folded on the sink vanity with what appeared to be vomit on it. See photo. I then opened the “cleaned” toilet (they took the time to put a piece of paper on it to show it has been cleaned) with poop marks on it. I went to the front desk since I was headed to dinner and told them about this. The gentleman at the front desk seemed to take it seriously and said he would send someone right away. When I returned from dinner, someone had been in my room because the vomit towel was refolded into its spot and the toilet seat closed - but neither were cleaned. I called the front desk and said at this point it was late and to please move me to a new room. They said there was not a single available room at the property but they would send someone. A porter - not housekeeping - showed up to my door 10 minutes later. He had no idea what was going on. I explained the situation. He offered to bring new towels. I said someone had to clean the toilet as well. He returned with some spray, sprayed the toilet, and left. Any decent hotel would have checked to confirm the issue was actually fixed. No one checked before I returned to the room after dinner. No one asked when I checked out the next morning. No one seemed to care. Goodbye Shangri-La.
The room smells like cockroaches spray. We could barely stay in. This was not a Shangra --La experience but a motel at some dungy area.
Very clean, very inviting reception area. Friendly staff, most of them. Rooms are spacious, maid service everyday. Points to mention rooms very warm. Good choice for breakfast although eggs and bacon not warm when kept in the warmers. Toaster not very good had to put bread through toaster 3/4 times. Only one restaurant close to hotel which you have to book as busy, but plenty in area if you are keen to walk or have a car for people who have children. Metro 10 mins down the road to hotel, easy to use and tickets are cheap, bus links from hotel are good as well. Great place to stay if you are running the Ostia half marathon everything is on the doorstep of hotel. We had a lovely stay
We stayed because of it's proximity to the Palazzo Dello Sport (easy walking distance), for a concert. It was very near a busy road and it took us a couple of days to work out that walking maps avoided these main roads. We were about 11k from central Rome but once we realised, the distance to the Metro station was only about 10-15mins away, along the main road and there was a regular bus. Travel was reasonable. The hotel itself was reasonable for what we used it for. Staff were friendly and the room clean & beds comfortable. Well stocked with toiletries & complimentary products, including slippers. Price very good for 4 of us. We were allowed to keep the room for longer due to a late flight at short notice and for a reasonable price. Breakfast was ok, continental style with a lot of sweet breads/pastries/cakes. There is currently building working to increase the number of rooms and to provide a swimming pool. The gym was quite good for the size of the hotel. Oddities for us were the tiny paper cups for hot drinks in the room. No milk (we were charged 3 Euros for a glass of milk). The patio door in the room only had a handle on the inside so it the door slammed you could get stuck on the balcony! It was also incredibly hot in the room (although to be fair, we could have asked for help with this). The day before we left we also discovered a huge shopping mall (about 5 mins walk away), Euroma 2 :) Would have been ideal to have written information in the room to help navigate.
Excellent staff clean hotel
Stay here due to is close proximity to the palazzo dello sport after a concert. Short walk to the metro to get straight to rome termini to go site seeing. Consierge where brilliant and so helpeful after google maps had been useless. aclean comfortable and great size bathtub for hotel room
It’s rather new property, but I expect to receive a bottle of water each day. Clean, far away from any public transportation.
It was a wonderful stay! Everyone was so pleasant, kind and helpful.
Great experience
Great hote
The hotel was very nice.
Really good and super accommodating staff in the kitchen.
Amazing breakfast
The room is huge and clean. No coffe maker obviously no Coffe in the room. No luggage stand. We literally have to place our luggage’s on the floor. Elevator not working most of the time. Some staff are accommodating. In our day of our check out it was raining heavily. female person in the front desk she was on her cell phone made me wait. I ask for service umbrella since it was pouring rain she did not even look up to reply with a Big NO!!!
Need to work on customers services
Nice & clean hotel conveniently located across a shopping mall. Front desk staff not friendly at all. Restaurante workers and bell boy are very polite and nice, thanks Antonio!
Nice hotel
The bedrooms were clean and very comfortable. The staff and service were always very helpful and accommodating. Nothing was too much for them. I would definitely stay here again.
Service is good. Front desk is very helpful
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Only a 10 minute walk to the mall and 20 minute walk to metro station. Rooms were comfortable and hotel provided ample soap/shampoo/towels.
Beautiful entrance lobby. Breakfast was slightly lacking. But is included in price, so is to be expected. Hotel was very clean, well presented and was very very quiet at all hours
Good customer service and reception
The staff from the desk very amiable!
The hotel is lovely and the rooms were perfect for my large family. Bathroom was generously sized and we appreciated the available mini-fridge. Staff was patient and helpful. It’s not in a walkable area but there is a nice grocery across the street.
Lovely staff
The front desk personnel was amazing. Very friendly and accommodating.
Not a nice place to stay
This is NOT an actual Shangri-La. They are just using the name. There was a huge bug in our room and an ant in the bathroom. Staff was not super friendly or helpful. The location is terrible to do anything other than a short drive to the airport.
Just a short train ride out from centre of Rome, station is close by. Nice to stay out of the hussle and bussle. Shopping centre across from hotel. Great location. comfortable clean rooms.
Hotel is quite good however our room (2004) was noisy at night because the wall at our bedhead was adjacent to the stairwell, and so we could hear residents arriving after midnight; this kept us awake. Nice bathroom, comfortable bed. No tea/coffee facilities in room.
We stayed over the easter bank holiday weekend, The hotel is good for business meetings and conferences etc. Not so much for families and tourists, away from all the tourist attractions and will work out more expensive as one will rely on taxi for everything. Each trip to city centre or tourist attraction will cost you 60 to 90 euros return. The hotel facility are good, not so much varieties at the breakfast, lunch and dinner. You dont even get water bottles from the hotel, you need to fill your own water bottles from the restaurant only when its opened, have wending machine in the corridor but sometimes doesn't work. No swimming pool, we and our kids were very disappointed. We wouldn’t recommend for family stay, you have much better hotles in the cmtown centre with most of tourist attractions and restaurants within the walkable distance and will save lot of money.
They Turn off Ac and don’t turn ON in month of March, April. We had no fan, this was so bad I room that we stayed out in Rome most to the time .
Value for money
The room, although not overly spacious, was quite pleasant. It comfortably accommodates two people and appears to have been recently renovated. Additionally, the hotel's proximity to the mall makes it very convenient. I definitely plan on returning in the future.
.
Nice & clean hotel. Very clean & modern rooms. Stayed 4 nights. 15 min Taxi ride to most tourist attractions. Good breakfast. Staff were friendly & helpful.
Really nice and luxurious staff are really nice and helpfully Good to go with family rooms are practical
Amenities were great..location great
A little gem in Eur!
Love this hotel - simple and does the basics right! Great service, strong Wi-Fi and amazing staff
A
the property is good if you have a car if not there is no transportation around close by., and when it is very hot it is brutal. So I will not recommend this hotel to anyone who does not have wheels to get around. very disappointed with this choice especially since i had children with me.
Door wasnt closing, room wasnt what was booked and took an hr to get a toom
Very unfriendly staff, unhelpful. Could not turn on lights without all of them coming on. We were in a room next to the staffs smoking area.
A shopping mall with food court and supermarket nearby.
Very good breakfast!
Very convenient for the airport
Worst stay in Italy
Rude staff. Zero attention towards customer. A big zero in hospitality. They didn’t clean our room even after reminding them severely time. The room didn’t even have glasses for water. They cut down the cooling every morning. I woke up in sweat.
A great hotel outside the city center but has free parking which is valuable if you have a car you need to park! A metro is close by and the rooms are very spacious! The breakfast is great as well but the scrambled eggs are a bit watery, the one thing the hotel can work on is how to make better scrambled eggs but other than that it is amazing!!!
The room was so dirty we stayed for one night
The hotel was very clean and nicely decorated. Unfortunately there weren’t any restaurants or shops within walking distance. Nor was there any metro nearby.
slightly further from the city centre of Rome. However, it’s located at a more urban area. Definitely felt safer than in center of Rome. Taxi from center or Rome is about $25-$30 euro. So, not too bad.
Terrible
It has lot of mosquitoes and bugs. Breakfast is terrible. No water in room. Room service is bad. Location is far from tourist places and airport. Only good thing was air conditioning
Close to airport and that is why we stayed one night. But do not eat here food is horrible and when I asked for a refund they could not figure out how to refund my 93€ Yep 93€ for absolute horrible dining. It was like you left Italy. We ate so well our whole trip to Italy (2weeks). But our last meal was a disaster. Eat before you go and stay here. Oh and request many towels towels are not hotel quality towels.
Marek
Food in restaurant was terrible - my chicken was over cooked and with mountain of salt. I asked for Margarita and also was disapointing. Breakfast - ok it was Italian style sweet... I was waiting 75 minutes to get iron and ironing board.
This is my second time staying at Hotel Shangri-La and I love it! There is free onsite parking (try parking anywhere else in Rome and you will pay fifteen euro a day), the staff is incredibly kind, the air conditioning is great (I visited Rome during a heat wave but my hotel room was the perfect temperature the entire time), and the metro is ten minutes away. It is a little bit out of town but a short metro ride into town and worth the trade off to park onsite for free.
A beautiful hotel.
Hotel was really clean, room was great, breakfast was yummy!!
Colazione confusionaria.
Tt bn
Bel albergo - zona interessante
Silenzioso. Ceck-in veloce e cordiale
Prima voor business trip
Rustig hotel, nette kamer, shopping mall dichtbij gelegen
Bello
Struttura eccellente, pulita accogliente. Colazione eccezionale. Assolutamente consigliato
