A lovely hotel in a great location

A great hotel with professional and friendly staff. We parked close by 30€ per night. Very comfortable beds and high level of cleanliness. They upgraded us, had a bottle of wine left in our room and a complementary glass of wine on arrival which was lovely. We would highly recommend.

Loved the staff, very quiet. Directions if you have a car are very difficult as we’re in the old city and you have to drive on a cobblestone path that says pedestrians only. But there’s an exception for this hotel. Kept feeling like I was going to get in trouble. Íker stayed on the phone with me until I arrived. Couldn’t ask for better service!!

What a wonderful place to stay in old town!! We were greeted with a drink and description of the city including where to eat and local customs like how to order your food which was very helpful!! Absolutely highly recommend ❤️

The room had a great view of the bay. The location was right where we wanted to be, next to old town. Super clean and very charming location.

Very nice place to get a quick feel of the area

The location is perfect. Garage parking is limited, and based on a prior review we reserved early, it was very convenient (valet). The room is nice, but basic, no lotion available. The bed was very hard, like sleeping on a table. I would have stayed again, if not for the bed hardness.

Superb location for the Old Town with it's bars and shops and only a few minutes walk from the fabulous La Concha beach. The staff are super friendly and helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Given it's great location you may get some noise on some nights and the noise level will depend on the location of your room and what floor you are on. Our room on the top floor was spacious with lovely views over the harbour and beyond. The bed was very large and very comfy and the shower in the bathroom was sooo rejuvenating. The room was a bit draughty and the high vaulted window vents are not easily accessible. It would have been nice to have some instructions in the room on how to open/close the vaulted window blinds and how to change the aircon settings. Would we stay here again... Absolutely.

The hotel is in a great spot overlooking the bay and next to a buzzy bar. We received such a warm welcome with a glass of wine and explanation of where is best to go for pintxos and a map of the city. The staff were lovely, helpful and professional. We highly recommend this hotel.

Brilliant location, very clean, we loved the decor and faultless service. They went above and beyond to make us feel welcome from the beginning to the end. Exceptional.

Great location with beautiful views of the bay. Walking distance to all things San Sebastián. Beaches, food, mt urguell . Room was small but really well laid out, modern, clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. We had an issue with our balcony door and maintenance fixed it quickly. One of the better hotel stays I’ve had anywhere. It’s on a busy corner and it can get loud, but it wasn’t much of an issue for us. It might be for some.

Ideally located in the centre of the old town and harbour. Beautiful views. Easy to walk everywhere. Breakfast option makes each morning G’s options easy. As located centrally, it can be noisy into the night with bar revellers near hotel then daily clean up begins early each morning.

Overpriced

The location of the hotel was awesome. The room was different than the pictures. It was not very clean. The bathroom and the bed had hair all over the place. No facilities. No epsresso machine or kettle. The hotel needs improvement.

This is a wonderful place to stay but if you are crazy enough to go in August, like we did, be ready for a good hour to find a space in a car park. The hotel does have 6 parking spaces so ask early if booking. Otherwise, superb.

Great hotel, location and staff who are super helpful and are just plain nice people who know hospitality. San Sebastián is loved by tourists and locals. However, the two do not always mix. The locals want to enjoy their own town, and us tourists are in it. The staff here go the extra mile to make your stay comfortable and their informative insights can truly improve your trip, all the more if you are a first time visitor like we were. The locals are actually nice but you have to meet them half-way. Get to know some words in Basque. Especially the word for thank you which basically sounds out like, amusingly, two U.S. words put together 'Scary Costco'. But of course is written far differently. The people in SS are precious so make sure you get out there and not just visit the high flying places. Buy some bread, cheese from little markets. This location is awesome to visit all the old town, the shops, the restaurants, the beach.

Superb location in San Sebastián. Excellent service from a small hotel in the old town area. Easy walk to restaurants, beaches, and parks. Highly recommend!

My husband and I are so happy with our experience and stay at Sansebay! They upgraded our room which was totally unexpected and left a bottle of wine in the room. The staff was excellent and went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed. Can't wait to come back!

The property location was convenient to the beach and the old town. Many restaurants within walking distance. The staff was very accommodating including when we got lost.

We found the hotel to be a pleasure. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. From the welcome beverage to dining suggestions and an overview of the city they shined. The hotel is modern in design and situated right on the edge of the harbor and old town. A total gem.

The apartment was very comfortable, spacious, clean and well stocked. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Situated in old town it’s close to many pintxo bars and wonderful restaurants and all the main sites. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Had the best stay at Sanse Bay, the location could not have been better, with lovely views from balcony across the bay. Room small but very clean and comfortable. So close to everything, only 2 mins walk to promenade and even less to the many Pintxos bars in the old town. Staff were all very friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend, we will definitely return.

Location the best, a little noisy outside and the mattresses were not supportive

Awesome location and modern design. Near all the great tapas, bars and shopping. Beach access and beach view is unbeatable. Room is not big but functional. Staff is friendly and helpful but front desk is unstaffed starting at 11pm. A/C is seasonal so ask when you book.

Amazing location right in the middle of the old town, within walking distance of all the pinxtos bars. Great staff and service - welcome drink on arrival and free upgrade to a sea view room. Delicious breakfast available too. Highly recommended!

Some of the furniture is a little worn as were the booklets of information about the hotel amenities that were in the room. Breakfast is a little expensive compared to other restaurants. On the positive side the location is excellent near the old town and promenade. All the staff were helpful and very friendly. We were upgraded to a room that faced the bay which we really appreciated.

In the old town, very convenient to shopping and restaurants, but tucked away, and quiet with a contemporary feel. I will definitely stay here again.

Great location, great price

Great budget-friendly option for exploring the old town of San Sebastian, and a short walk to Zurriola Beach and its neighborhood. A few steps away from some of the best cheesecake you'll get in the Basque Region, and an amazing view for sunsets right outside the front door. VERY friendly and helpful front desk staff for everything from arranging cabs (no Ubers here!) to less-touristy recommendations, to digging up some forgotten toiletries. Will recommend to friends!

The hotel is superb. Service is awesome. Rooms are spacious and well equipped (the bed / pillows are super comfortable). Personnel is uber friendly and it is well located to walk the city around. The OLD (Viejo) quarters are specially likeable for shopping, bars and restaurants.

SanSebay is a beautiful boutique hotel with a great location between the old city in San Sebastián and the bay. Besides the location it has an amazing staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. I can’t thanks enough to one of the staff, Andrea. I dropped my cell phone in the taxi and realized it when I got to the hotel. She is a very smart girl and knew what to do right away. She contacted the 2 main taxis companies in the area and my phone was waiting for me at the police station. I fully recommend this hotel with a 5+ star Joe and María DeCaro

Great Hotel, Great Location!

This is literally the perfect place to stay. The rooms are nice and not too small, the staff is phenomenal, the location is right in old town as well as right on the bay yet it's very quiet and a little oasis. Also, their breakfast is very good. We would absolutely choose to stay here again!

Fantastic location and great service

This hotel is in a fantastic location in the San Sebastian Old Town. We were upgraded to a larger apartment on the top (5th) floor, which had its pros and cons. It was very spacious and well equiped, however the roof was slanted, so you had to crouch in parts to avoid banging your head. My husband and I aren't very tall so it wasn't an issue for us, but taller guests mightn't be so comfortable. The service from all the staff we encountered at the front desk was great. All in all we had a fantastic stay and would certainly recommend this hotel to others!

On our arrival we were given a welcome drink while our registration for our room was completed. We also received an upgrade to a very spacious room with a view of the harbor. The hotel tried to make dinner reservations at a restaruant with a view of the harbor but a sudden weather change meant no outdoor seating thus no room for us. Loved San Sebastian and the hotel location was right on the edge of old town so very convenient to bars & restaurants and a bit of shopping. Breaksfast was lovely with fresh cakes, patries, yogurt etc. Wish we could have stayed longer at this lovely little hotel. The only negative was I left my money belt in the open safe & contacted the hotel to destroy my credit cards as we were going home to Canada in one day. There was some Canadian cash which they insisted the only way to get it was to pick it up. Not possible as we were in Balboa leaving for home the next day so we just wrote it off.

The staff were fantastic and the location cannot be beat. Rooms are very comfortable. It is right in the heart of the part of the city that has numerous restaurants, tapas bars, and shops.

This hotel is in a great location tucked back in the corner of the bay right next to old town. The room was large and had a couch and a patio (no view). The staff was very helpful and offered a welcome drink to us and our friends and a nice bottle of wine in our room. There is a great craft beer bar next door (Akerbeltz) and old town is around the corner. We had a great dinner at a Michelin restaurant named Ikaitz.

Loved the introduction to the area we had on first day. It was very helpful. The hotel was quaint yet in a beautiful location.

Amazing experience!

This was our first stay at Sansebay, we will be back! Great location to Old Town and tucked away just perfect. We had a smaller room and just needed to remove a chair to make more space. The bed and shower were very nice. The staff is very accommodating. We stayed 2 nights and arrived later in the day. We had a home baked brownie and got ready to go to Old Town. We met some friends who were staying near by. Closely located is a Michelin star restaurant, Excellent craft cocktail bar Arraun, and many incredible bakeries/shops. There is a Basque cheesecake that is pretty famous at La Vina. History all around and La Concha is beautiful!

It’s a nice property and the people were very friendly and helpful. The webpage says parking is available. After booking, I received a message asking what kind of car we have. We were told our car was too big to park there (it’s a full sized, normal car). We had to walk with luggage about 15 minutes from parking to the hotel. There were a lot of people hanging out just outside the hotel, but inside it was quiet. The walls to the bathroom were frosted glass and every sound can be heard from the bed.

This was our first visit to the beautiful city of San Sebastián and we couldn't have picked a better hotel. The location is perfect and our room had a stunning sea view. Being on the old part of the city excellent dining and bars are just a short walk away. The hotel is beautifully presented and the staff are helpful and friendly. We will definitely be back!

Great location. Our room was right above the neighboring bar and also level with a general drinking hang-out spot. Didn’t sleep well with people right outside our window until ~2am.

Excellent location. Walking distance from many shops, restaurants, and bars. Friendly staff. Clean modern rooms. We were welcomed with a drink of choice and a bottle of wine in our room. Only difficult part was driving up to the hotel on the first day but staff provided help with parking. You don’t need a car in San Sebastián therefore everything after that was very smooth. Loved our stay!

The hotel is very nice and just like the pictures. I have nothing bad to say about the place. Although the instructions said to ignore local signage to get to the hotel, our cab driver refused. It isn't the hotel's fault, but local authorities should find a way to make it easier on tourists to arrive to their destination

Perfection in San Sebastián

What can i say other than WOW! One of the loveliest hotels i've stayed at in a long time. Aside from the location being absolute spot on for walking everywhere you'd want to be in San Sebastian the room was absolutely glorious! I was up on the 5th floor overlooking the beach with skylights flooding the room with warmth and light. It was really clean and modern. The check in was truly special, was sat down with a glass of wine and the receptionist talked me through some of her favourite places to eat in the town which I followed closely & everything was delicious that she recommended. They also have a whatsapp for guests if you need help with anything which is a super easy way to communicate. Can't recommend this hotel enough!

Hotel was very nice and in an excellent location in the old town. A bit tricky to find but the hotel sent a video to explain directions there (helpful). There was an initial mixup with a car space allocated; the hotel was booked an the basis that they had parking. However, we were told it was full. After some email exchange, they managed to find a spot for us, so worked out OK. Would stay there again.

A simply amazing place

Excellent location overlooking the bay. We were given a room upgrade with a bottle of wine as per Expedia gold status .View from the room was beautiful. Within a few yards of the old town . The room was very well equipped with extremely comfortable beds and was serviced daily to a high standard.. The hotel was clean and modern. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast limited but adequate. An unexpected plus was the excellent sports masseur at a very reasonable cost . Lots of places to eat within yards . Very easy to travel to San Sebastián by bus from Bilbao airport and as our return flight to the U.K. was late at night we were able to spend the day in Bilbao , leaving our luggage in lockers at the bus station .Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel and very friendly service. Due to the hotel is in the old town with lots of one way and pedestrian only road, they send us a detailed direction the day before. But we still could not find the hotel in the beginning and they even came out to find us. 😊 A beautiful room up grade, made the trip well worth it! Raquel is the lady in the front was really helpful for helping on the restaurants, sightseeing routes….. We will stay there again if we have chance to go back to San Sebastián.
