A lovely well located boutique hotel.
The Hotels staff were very welcoming and efficient. The Hotel is small and the rooms typical of Europe, quite small but they were clean and the bathrooms were also fine. The location was excellent allowing us the opportunity to explore the great restaurants in this lively area but also close enough to be able to walk within 30 minutes to many of the cities great sites such as the Palestine Hills and Parthenon. The highlight however was on our second evening we decided to make use of the free drink that was provided. The Cocktail barman (I apologise I forgot his name) was a total experience. Over two nights he made us the most amazing cocktails, mixed with a theatrical flourish that was a show in itself. Ensure that you visit the bar and take advantage. On the second night we also has some food samplers, pate and a cheese board. Both were exceptional and the price was very fair. I would happily recommend the San Francesco and look forward to perhaps a return in the future.
Good customer service. Not elevator service. That wasn’t so good
Great location. Super helpful with luggage storage and taxi calling. Room was efficient.
Good location access to transportation staff very friendly
Great area in Trastevere not right in the action but walking distance. Great service friendly staff, my only complaint is that room wall are paper thin and you can hear everything, I bit noise.
An awesome find in the city!!! Highly recommend. :)
thin walls
Staff was friendly and helpful
I like the area around the hotel, the staff are so friendly, the roome service is everyday. The thing i didnt like its not quite to sleep.
Very average, forgettable hotel. Room was tiny, walls needed a livk of paint, staff were perfectly fine.
Great location, friendly staff, and clean rooms where everything works. A less-than 5 minute walk to the tram is very helpful for both airport transportation and for getting you across the river quickly. The only caveat is the church bell which seems to constantly ring all day and night. Didn’t really bother me, but if you need dead silence to sleep it may bother you.
I love Hannah’s good customer service. I dislike the mattress and the bed as it was so uncomfortable. I never for once enjoyed my sleep and the odour that comes from the toilet is terrible as we have to open the windows 24/7 before we were able to stay at the apartment.
Safe
It was a very safe area and charming lots nearby to shop and dine
Staff were very friendly and the hotel was located around a lot of transportation and dining options!

The room was tiny, the TV falling off of the wall, a thin wire connected to it and running across the floor that had to be moved like an old fashion antenna to get a signal. The bed was hard, like right out of the Flintstones, the shower inside a tiny tub and water poured out all over the floor because the curtain was insufficient. There's not even a sign for this place when you get there, just a door mat with the hotel name on the floor outside of the restaurant entrance. Truly disappointed, even at a somewhat reasonable price for what I would rate a two star hotel. I do not recommend staying here. It is an inconvenient location. I give the staff credit for their friendliness.
We stayed for two nights in this lovely hotel in Trastevere. It was exceptionally clean and in a lovely area, which, while maybe just under a 20 min walk to ancient sites, is very well-connected by transit and very easy to explore Trastevere by foot, which is a wonderful experience. The walk is also lovely, we enjoyed crossing the Tiber and taking in the history. Breakfast was nice, and if you don’t want to have it there, there are plenty of cafes and restaurants in the area. We also enjoyed the lovely rooftop bar. The staff were also very kind. We will be back!
Trastevere is a beautiful and important area of Rome that should be explored, This hotel is strategically located in this area, Staff is very friendly, clean place (just clean), my room had a very nice view of Trastevere! The shower head was a nightmare! no pressure and no flowing of hot water, couldn’t wash my hair. If going there, be sure you have a salon reservation.
Cute hotel.. room and bed were a kind of small, but clean and comfortable
Everyone was very friendly and helpful. Our first time staying in this part of Rome. Easy to travel by bus to all the attractions or walk about a mile or so if you prefer. Highly recommended. And this part of town has their own railway station. Something I didn't know and easier to deal with than Termini.
It was a great place to stay!
Muy bien servicio
At first impression the area looked sketchy because of the graffiti. To our surprise it was a very quiet, safe, beautiful neighborhood. The staff here is AMAZING! Everyone is so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Rooftop bar is the main attraction with amazing views in the evening. Everyone speaks English and the food in the restaurant is really good! Walking distance to local restaurants. Close to monuments by car (walk if you’re able great way to see the city) definitely recommend staying here when in Rome!
Quiet yet close to everything
Lots of restaurants around.
Good location and comfortable room
Staff was really friendly and helpful. Roof top bar had good cocktails. Over all an enjoyable stay for an over night Rome experience.
Our room on the 4th floor was a bit noisy from the rooftop restaurant/bar in the evening, till they closed about 11:30. Great location in Trastevere, and helpful staff!
The room was super clean nice but the bed was hard we stay only one night so it did not really matter excellent location walking distance to everything
Really awesome location for nightlife and dinners. Excellent modern hotel, decent air conditioning, roof top bar is very cool, and there are 24/7 staff that were very attentive. My only note is that the beds were two single beds pushed together and unfortunately they floated away from each other in the night. Otherwise, great stay!
Beautiful hotel with spacious rooms and a rooftop bar! Great location close to the historical sites but in a good local foodie neighbourhood!
We had a nice stay here! The hotel was as expected. Very kind and helpful staff. A bit removed from the busy areas which made for nice quiet sleeps. A beautiful rooftop bar and only a quick walk from great places to eat! And easy to walk everywhere from here. Thank you!
Lovely hotel & staff! A little off the beaten path. Food was good, not great and a little pricey
I loved the bar on the rooftop - it has beautiful views, decorations, and delicious food/drink options. The staff of the hotel were excellent - consistently very kind and helpful to us. The decor throughout the common areas was beautiful. And it was a very quick walk to a wide variety of restaurants and cafes in a fun part of the city. Very happy with our stay!
Too old and the rooms too smalls for me
Clean and convenient.
The staff here is incredibly friendly, helpful and accommodating. They also have great recommendations for dining, shopping and other activities. My room was cleaned with fresh towels everyday.
Great views and breakfast.
Short but nice stay
Short stay, but beautiful and clean hotel. We had drinks on the rooftop bar and had a beautiful view!
Location was excellent! Highly recommend. Staff was extremely helpful!
Our first time in Rome and we feel like we hit the jackpot with this hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful, the facilities were impeccably kept and the rooftop bar was a perfect spot for an appertivo. The location was fantastic as well. It sits right on the edge of the trendy Trastevere neighborhood so you get the full advantage of enjoying it into the night yet coming back to a quite sleep. Being away from the crowds at the more popular attractions is also a plus yet they are still in walkable distance. I highly recommend this hotel.
A most enjoyable stay!
The location was excellent. The staff friendly, knowledgeable and helpful and the room was comfortable abs very clean! A most enjoyable stay. The rooftop is outstanding.
Really good value and good area away from touristy sites. Great lobby and bar. Rooms are basic but clean- only issue is bed and pillows are like wooden boards. We both couldn’t sleep due to hardness and could hear street noises from people leaving bars and lounges well into the night.
Normal hotel. Good, nothing out of the ordinary. Had to take an uber to the main sights and back
Lovely lobby. Our room was ready early (they charge for early check in). Beautiful rooftop! Rooms have AC. Superb location and friendly staff
The area was perfect for our stay and staff friendly. They even let us store our bags for the day after check-out. What wasnt nice was staying on the 4th floor. We heard people walking above us on the roof top patio for hours as we were trying to sleep. As well, the pillows were so firm and small it didnt make for a good sleep.
Great staff very helpful wonderful restaurant close to everything
It is a middle of the road hotel. The beds are very uncomfortable and hard. You can hear the entire conversation in the rooms beside you. It is very close to a very nice part of town though.
The area around the hotel was a bit sketchy. The hotel was lovely and so was the staff.
A nice hotel in an interesting part of Rome. Many local restaurants within walking distance.
Staff were very friendly. Breakfast options were great.
We only stayed here a night before our flight home, but wished we had stayed longer. The room was small, but adequate for our needs. The air conditioning worked well and there was a working elevator. Reception ordered a cab for us as we were leaving early the next morning. Restaurants were within walking distance. We also went up to the rooftop bar for cocktails.
The toilet kept flushing on its own.... odd.
Great location in Travestere I would stay here again Good breakfast and nice rooftop bar
Great location and stylish hotel.
This was the kick off for our 4 city Italy trip and we couldn't imagine a better way to begin. The location is magic, the staff are friendly and helpful in every way, the room was perfectly comfortable
Convenient location, reasonable prices. AC worked well but beds could be upgraded. Certainly not terrible, but also not great. Friendly staff.
Very disappointed
The hotel is old and poorly maintained. Many lights in tour room didn’t work. The room didn’t have bottled waters or a coffee machine. Toiletries very basic. The room was very small.
Staff welcoming and helpful.
Great stay
We felt at home at Hotel San Francesco. The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly! We LOVED the restaurant Jacopa Roma! Amazing tasting menu! Such a convenient location. We walked everywhere! Enjoyed our stay so much that we are returning for our last night in Rome before flying back to the states. Highly recommend!!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very clean. Staff was excellent!
Very enjoyable, great staff, very good restaurant & bar, it is an older building but well maintained, clean and friendly. Great location away from center of Rome.
Very welcoming staff. Nice, clean and quiet after a long travel day.
Our room is well ventilated. Short walk to many restaurants. Quiet yet close to the main area of crowd. I wish there is daily Mass at the St. Francis next door.
This is a lovely little hotel in Trastevere, just far enough from the crowds to be quiet, but close enough to both the heart of that neighbourhood to make it easy to visit any of the wonderful restaurants. It's also very handy to Testaccio and Centro Storico. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and the bathrooms are commodious. The on-site restaurant and wine bar, Jacopa, is terrific. Staff are lovely. Highly recommend.
We stayed here at the beginning and end of our honeymoon in Italy and it was the perfect location. Very walkable to the main city center but even nicer to explore the neighborhood of trastevere! Very quiet and clean and the staff is very kind!
Cosy stay
Very nice comfortable stay in nice location
Modern and staffing very nice and helpful
The rooms were great, staff excellent and the breakfast was really efficient
Small space, but very clean and all the staff were very friendly in a great location. Everything was walking distance.
Excellent hotel, clean, tidy and with a staff who are eager to help. In a perfect location for visiting the cafe's and restaurants of the Trastevere area. Well worth a visit.
Staff was so friendly and accommodating. We felt safe and secure. Breakfast was delish and prices were reasonable. Would definitely stay there again.
Safe, convenient, vintage. Loved being able to leave the key at the desk and the space was very clean.
Nice location in Trastavere
Location was great and hotel was clean and comfortable.
The location is good on Trastevere and good service for the price. Three options of breaksfast that are very good!
Great location and lovely staff, refurb the rooms!
A great hotel in a great location, very hand for the restaurants in Trastevere and the rest of the city. The staff are lovely and the restaurant food and wine were fantastic. The rooms are a bit tired and could do with a refurb, but the bed was comfortable and we had a very relaxing stay
Enjoyed the stay there. Not an over the top hotel but a good place to stay
Good location and helpful friendly staff.
I loved the location and the restaurant and bar on site were fabulous.
A gem in the heart of Trastavere. Staff were absolutely fabulous. Will definitely stay here again on future trips. Highly recommend !
room was very clean. internet very slow. area several blocks from main activities.... staff was friendly. Did not like having to return my room key when leaving the building (for "security" purposes)
Friendly, comfortable, relaxing and good restaurant.
Affordable hotel in a good spot for exploring Trastevere, with attractive communal areas and friendly staff. However the rooms look tired and need some updating, the furniture is old and dated, the shower had very poor water pressure, and there was no soundproofing. Also there was a power outage during our stay and the hotel didn’t have a back-up generator meaning that we spent a night without power, unable to put the lights on or charge our phones. All in all good for the price but in need of some updating, and it could be fantastic.
Great location
The walls in the room were paper thin, you could hear EVERYTHING from your neighbours - phone conversations, chatter with their partner was legible, toilet noises, thumping, cupboards opening and closing, belching and all else you cannot un-hear.
Very good and nice reception
Great location in Trastevere. Clean room
Quite noisy at the front of the hotel in the mornings so if I stayed here again I’d ask for a room at the back
The breakfast was phenomenal, three options of "simple" dishes tasted extraordinary. The staff was extremely helpful and the location was close enough to walk to nearby restaurants and public transportation stops.
Great location. Helpful staff.
Good location near transit and the bustle of Trastevere. One thing I didn’t like was the internet - you had to sign in via a webpage, but even after doing that it said it was an unsecured network. Not great if you have to do banking or buy train tickets
Enjoyed our stay. Friendly staff and great breakfast!
Very pleasant
The room is small but has everything you need. Good location, places to eat just across the street. Pleasant rooftop bar in addition to bar on the ground floor.
Located in the most lovely area of Rome, we loved our stay here! The room was small but served its purpose so no complaints. Everything was needed was in walking distance and such great restaurants in the vicinity. Hotel staff was sweet and friendly. We loved that the breakfast was made to order and very fresh, I wished there was a little more variety than the 3 choices however. Con would be the elevator was broken when we checked in so carrying up 3 luggage’s 4 flights of stairs at 11pm wasn’t enjoyable.
It was a small boutique hotel in Trastevere. Best suburb to stay in Rome. Big room and bathroom with windows to open. Walking distance to Romes attractions just across the Tiber River. Buses an option. So many eating choices and cafes. Good breakfast to start the day. Would stay here again if back in Rome.
Right next door to the San Francesco Church where St. Francis once visited. Easy walking neighborhood. Very friendly staff!

It’s a great hotel. Staff is friendly, room is clean, and spacious bathroom. Loved the location. Easy to walk through Trastevere and also take public transportation.
