Overall, the hotel was decent, though a bit outdated, and there was no elevator. On our first day, we ran out of hot water, which was particularly inconvenient. We informed the reception, and they resolved it fairly quickly. However, one issue I found disappointing was the lack of transparency in their menu. For instance, I do not eat pork, and during dinner at their gourmet restaurant, I ordered the beef menu with a gratin. Unfortunately, the gratin contained pork, which was not mentioned. This left me quite upset. Another major inconvenience occurred a few days before the end of our stay when the air conditioning stopped working. I reported it to the reception at 8:30 a.m., and someone only came to fix it at 11:30 p.m. Worse, the staff member knocked so quietly before using their key card to enter the room that we didn’t hear them. Unfortunately, my wife and I were in a very private moment, and this intrusion was incredibly embarrassing and unacceptable. While the hotel has its positives, these incidents significantly impacted our experience.

Amazing staff !!

The food is terrible - over cooked and the same at the buffets every day - the specialty restaurants if you can get a table aren’t much better. No pool service and the evening entertainment was also poor. We had delayed flights and let them know that we would be arriving within the first 24 hours but when we got there they wouldn’t let us into our rooms until 3pm as that was the next days check in even though we had paid for the previous day on full. This is NOT a 5 star hotel - at best a 3 star

Resort is enormous. Best guess would be 1000 rooms. It was overwhelming because of the size for me. This is purely personal.

Simply amazing, the hotel was beautiful, clean and full of character. The staff were exceptional. I was always greeted with a friendly smile from everyone. I can’t thank them enough for making my stay so fabulous. The hotel was right on the beach which was immaculate.

I love Karamboa

Amazing relaxing stay - nothing but perfection. this is a large and palatial complex right on the beach, 5 mins from the airport (no noise from planes)... All needs catered for (we are a family with 3yo and 8yo). there were about 6 Pools altogether (prob over 100m in total length) and all were freshwater (important for kids) - rooms were spacious and cleaned impeccably, (decor is a little bit dated) fantastic variety and quantity of food and drinks - esp my favourites: fish, seafood & salads. plus pastas, chips and pizzas for the kids. Its a marvel considering the difficulties of import in that area... I dont personally drink alcohol but there was plenty on offer including soft drinks and non alcoholic cocktails Fantastic entertainment team - daily wellness/ aqua sport/ kids show, evening entertainment. the crowd were largely british and very friendly chilled out types. Well located for island tours also - we particularly enjoyed the south tour to Santa Monica beach. whlae watching was good but not for the faint hearted in choppy waters. We would come back in a heartbeat. good value aswell Only possible considerations could be to add a shaded area in the main pools perhaps with a thatch from old coconut leaves, update the colour of the room blankets to a more fresh colour, and repair the missing tiles in the pool. NONE of this would detract from the fact we loved every part of our holiday here - and THANK the team massively for our much needed family getaway

Absolutely Amazing

Absolutely amazing hotel and staff. Nothing too much trouble for them, the entertainment team are the best I’ve ever seen .. so professional and interactive with everyone, bar staff friendly and quick, maid service thorough .. reception staff polite and welcoming.. have been here twice already this year and just booked to return in December after the refurbishment ❤️

There could be some improvement on alcohol offered. The resort was beyond our expectations.

Lots of amenities to fully enjoy the holidays (swimming pools,bars, restaurants, evening shows ,excursions). Unfortunately for there isn't much choice for people who don't eat pork as most of the meals have pork in them. I was also disgusted to see coackroches in the halls and even in my room.

Everything was perfect, was the best vacation experience ever in cape verde. They doing a great job at the hotel

Cheesy hotel 3 real stars. No wifi, no towels. Cabo verdean people are great at work but the hotel has not a good standard of quality. They need to improve! For 3 days we didn't have a swimming towel!! And the food, although plenty of buffets, of low quality. Room is small. Overall design is very cheesy and lame marrocan taste in Cabo Verde.

Execllent service

The true asset of Riu Karamboa is the staff. Everybody, from the reception, restaurants, ground keeping, etc. were very professional. The hotel grounds are very well maintained. The beach, where I spent most of my time is very clean and safe. There are no local merchants, or passers-by. I took long walks in the morning and around sunset. The water in the ocean (in July) was warm and clean. Perfect for swimming. I do recommend the hotel.

une réceptionniste appelée (Artemiza) que travaille dans Riu Karamboa Boa Vista Cap Verd ne savait pas comment faire son travail correctement, elle était la réceptionniste chef mais son service était pire que celui de ses subordonnés… Je n'ai pas aimé le service de cette dame car elle me parlait très mal. Si l'hôtel est 5 étoiles, le personnel et le service doivent également être 5 étoiles. s'il vous plaît, mettez des personnes qualifiées pour que la prochaine fois la même chose ne se reproduise jamais. Au moins, elle aurait dû s'excuser mais elle ne l'a même pas fait. Je n'ai pas aimé et cet hôtel n'était pas un endroit où j'aimerais retourner et le recommander aux gens.

Ottimo Resort. Nonostante le dimensioni e le tante persone è tenuto tutto perfettamente in ordine, pulitissimo. In ottima posizione anche per uscire in ristoranti nei dintorni. Molto consigliato

camere non confortevoli. letti enormi senza possibilità di matrimoniale. bagno privo di bidet, doccia non sicura con piatto scivoloso senza magniglie di sicurezza temperatura acqua calda non preregolata se non stai attento ti ustioni, canali televisore privo di canali italiani. insomma la struttura non è adatta per accogliere il turismo italiano che ha esigenze diverse dagli inglesi che mangino fino ad abbuffarsi e bevono oltre misura senza altro fare. non tornerò mai più in questo tipo di struttura

Mooi hotel, erg vriendelijk personeel. Eten was lekker maar buffet varieerde niet veel waardoor je het beu raakt na een aantal dagen. Recretatie elke avond was gezellig. Al met al top!

Super entspannter Urlaub !

Pros: - Klasse Hotelanlage - Super Essen...es war immer für jemanden etwas dabei - Sauberer schöner Sandstrand - Fitness Center - Personal sehr nett und immer hilfsbereit - Abendliche Animation war gut bis sehr gut - An der Strandbar war immer gute Stimmung - Wir hatten uns ein Quad für 24 Stunden gemietet und alles erkundet, war echt klasse...durch Sanddünen, Oasen und sehr schönen Stränden gefahren. - Für Quad / Buggyfahrer definitiv ein Erlebnis Cons: - Die Insel hat nicht viel zu bieten und ist etwas "trist" - "Hauptstadt" ist Mini - Die hauseigene Disko war wegen Corona geschlossen Fazit: Wer gemütlich entspannen möchte und nur "etwas" Action haben möchte, ist hier genau richtig !!

Posto meraviglioso vicino ad una spiaggia lunghissima . Personale molto gentile, animazione sempre piacevole. Spero di ritornarci presto.

Bella struttura internazionale e completa di servizi. Cucina ripetitiva e classico buffet medio buono. Molto negativo la mancanza del bidè e/o braccetto doccia. Eppure di spazio abbondava la stanza, probabilmente il costruttore ha considerato molto il grado di pulizia personale richiesto dalla stragrande maggioranza della clientela....

Ho soggiornato per 2 settimane al Riu Karamboa a giugno, l'hotel può apparire un po' datato, ma il personale, il cibo, il mare e la spiaggia ti rendono il soggiorno molto lieto, è stata una esperienza magnigica. Il prezzo è ottimo per la qualità che ho trovato!!!

The only things I didn’t appreciated are that all entertainment shows where in English and none of them in Italian avrò if there where many Italians. Second was the food that was quite good but nothing seems fresh but was frozen. In other resorts I have been the fish was fresh.

Ficamos dois dias em Boa Vista e nos sentimos num paraíso privado. O hotel satisfaz todas as necessidades do turista sem precisar sair dele nenhum minuto.

Non potevamo scegliere di meglio. Struttura ottima,pulizia ok,staff poliglotta e molto preparato,gentili e disponibili. Il cibo è ottimo,svariati piatti per tutti i gusti ogni giorno pietanze diverse e cucinate al momento,difficile non trovare qualcosa di proprio gradimento. Consigliato a tutti per rapporto /qualità prezzo,probabilmente la miglior struttura a boa vista.
