Great hotel!
Beautiful hotel! Great and friendly staff! Thanks for everything Alessandra! Centrally located. Sometimes a little noisy as the building is next to a street full of tourists, but with good soundproofing in the windows. Note: they do not turn on the AC in the spring
Beautiful
This was a great place to stay!! The staff gave us great recommendations and the breakfast was good!
Our room was amazing, clean, a good size, and the location is incredible. Only thing I'd say is the bed was very hard/uncomfortable, but the staff was genuinely kind and helpful, and gave us amazing recommendations. Overall pleased with my stay!
Loud construction right on to of my room early morning
This hotel's location is excellent. The room is small but comfortable. It has a comfortable bed and a good shower. The only complaint that I have at the moment of check-in, the staff said that our reservation was in another hotel close to Trevi Fountain; my husband did Rinascimiento property.
Great stay in the heart of Rome. The staff was very helpful arranging transportation, the room was very clean and had everything we needed!
Ok stay, wouldnt repeat
Great option for a single node gut stay in Rome.
Air conditioning was difficult to operate meaning the air was too cold sometimes. Suggest changing controls
We had to stay in a room across from the main hotel- the noise level- from outside was horrible it was like we were outside. Our shower drain did not work. We were expecting much better.
The room was clean and modern. It was perfectly located to all the locations we wanted to visit. There were open air markets and good restaurants all close by.
Staff was very helpful and friendly and arranged a taxi to the airport for my wife and I.
Freindly staff perfect location
Great location. Easy to walk everywhere. Close to to the Grand Canal, transportation and train station. The property is showing its age. Room was a bit worn. Room was small and bathroom even smaller.
Thank you
Should have read reviews first
We can not rate the hotel since we were never there. We landed in Rome at 1:00 am and we taken to a different hotel on the other side of Rome No notice from the hotel and there was plenty of time to send an email since we didn’t arrive til 1:00 am!!! We specifically chose that hotel for location and the moved us to a “ sister” hotel with no rate decrease or compensation for the inconvenience. Not happy !
Excellent area. Within walking distance to great restaurants and major sites.
The front desk staff was exceptional! Totally enjoyed our stay and loved the breakfast!
We weren’t able to stay at this hotel. We had reserved 2 rooms, and upon arrival to the hotel at 9am there were no rooms available. I had reconfirmed our reservation on 2 different occasions, so the hotel automatically found rooms at a partner hotel. They paid for our cab ride 20 minutes away, and we had lovely rooms at the Hotel Trevi Group. I believe it was an upgrade, and Hotel Rinasmiento comped breakfast for our trouble. So I have no complaints, because they took care of us. There were two very upset groups of customers who arrived after us and were not provided rooms. I would not book at this hotel again, due to the lack of a guaranteed reservation, but I am grateful the hotel staff accommodated us in other facilities.
make sure to ask for a room in the “old” building
The room was disappointing, on ground floor, facing an inner small courtyard where was bike-parking & storage, no daylight, windows were frosted, so no view whatsoever. Room was small, much smaller than on the pictures and you could hear absolutely everything through the walls. Our room was situated in the “new part” of the hotell, across the street from the reception, the rooms in the old part of the hotel were much nicer & I don’t feel I got what I paid for. Location, however, was great.
This hotel is in need of repair and maintenance
Property is in a great location. Close to all major tourist attractions. The unit was quite a bit small for the 4 of us but we made it work. The showers need work though, very little pressure comes out of the shower, basically trickling. That will be my only complaint.
Perfect location in Rome
Very nice staff, very nice hand made breakfast on a nice rooftop terrace. Helped with taxi transfer as well. The room was to a backyard, but that kept temperature really nice and the room was spacious and comfortably furnished. The biggest plus aside of the hotel is the place where it is located in town. Perfect starting point.
When we arrived at the hotel after a long day of travel, I was informed that I could no longer stay at the hotel as it was full. They transported me to their sister hotel 1 mile away. I also spoke with them the day before to confirm the reservation.
Excellent location
The staff was professional, courteous, and quite helpful. The lication was perfect.
Loved the staff and the room. Well appointed/modern. Great location. Spacious and very clean overall. Red area rug was dirty and stained. Only complaint.
We've stayed at the Rinascimento for years. Great location, good staff, nice breakfast, very professional in their transactions with us. This year, at Easter and with huge crowds in Rome, we were assigned a room in an annex 500 meters from the main hotel. We were traveling with family and no warning was given that we would be separated. We should have been warned in advance and given the option of switching with some younger family members traveling with us. When we protested, we were moved. But that wasted an entire morning having to move our luggage into yet another room. We booked a couple of months in advance. No idea why we were exiled to a faraway place with few street lights and tough to navigate at our age.
Great location, within walking distance of Vatican, Colosseum, Forum, Trevi Fountain, Piazza Navona, Campo Fiori, Pantheon
The hotel is very well located; however, neither the property nor the service is of a 4 stars hotel. The hair dryer was not working, I didn't have toilet paper in the restroom, they NEVER answered the phone in the lobby, the property was located 7' walk to the "main lobby/hotel area".
Great service, very clean I stay over two weeks the location is great
Gréât large room, shower and bath/jacuzzi! Gréât location too
Rooms were decently neat but could have been cleaner. No room service and strange room layout
Staff was super friendly. Hotel was very clean and cozy. Breakfast was perfect. A/C worked so well our room was quite cold, even when there was record heat outside.
Very nice! We stayed in their annex property and loved it! Very close to everything.
Upon check-in we were advised they were going to call a taxi to take us to our room! We then walked several hundred meters to a different building where we were accommodated overnight - in a ‘hotel’ that was clearly not where we booked. Moved back to the ‘proper’ hotel the following evening and cut short our stay. Poor service, well below our expectations.
Great location and class Rome neighborhood atmosphere. Easy walk to Campo di Fiori, Piazza Novona, Pantheon...Trestavere! Great breakfast but a bit disappointed a hotel in Rome would not have Espresso or Cappachino!!! Service was amazing at Reception with great attitude and helpful in every way!
The web site gives an address for the check-in hotel, then you can be directed to any number of different properties. If you have selected this for location it can be (was) an issue. Also, door lock on the unit did not function properly
Awesome Italian Hotel!!!
It was our family of four’s first trip to Italy. The Hotel was perfect. It was on a small narrow street which really made us feel like it was a true Italian getaway. It was a historic building and road but rooms were all very nice and updated, the bathroom was gorgeous. The beds were a little on the firm side but nothing terrible. We arranged for a private car transport to and from the airport through this hotel and that was awesome. Courteous driver and very comfortable car. The reception staff all spoke English and gave us a map and highlighted areas of the city we might want to see (and some to avoid). It was nice to find a room large enough for four people comfortably. The breakfast was huge! Unique egg and meat dishes each day along with large selection of pastries and fresh pies. Although nestled off the main road, it was an easy walk to trattorias for dinner (highly recommend Polese, a 5 minute walk), a gelato shop (Sweet Things - freshly made every day), souvenirs shopping, taxi service, and the bus. We took a taxi to the Colesseum and it was reasonable. We would highly recommend this hotel!
it was very nice, the hotel is close to the main attractions, and the time was very pleasant.
Fantastic location for exploring the historic center of Rome. You are literally steps from Campo di Fiori and Piazza Novana, very close to the Pantheon. With a slightly longer walk, you are at Vatican City and St. Peter's. Important bus lines run along the road one block from the hotel. Hotel staff is friendly and helpful. It appears that many of the rooms have been renovated recently. The breakfast is well worth the extra expense.
Other then the fact the thermostat wasn't really working properly to control the temperature in the room every thing else seems to be on par.
Excellent location. Friendly staff. Room was 'outside' across the road rather than the main hotel and very small and a lot more basic than any illustrated on the website. The only window opened directly onto covered garage and scooter parking lot and so didn't even open the blinds and room service kept them closed too. The room was cold at night. Our deal included breakfast buffet and a bottle of wine. The bottle of wine finally arrived on the 3rd evening of our stay after 3 times of asking. Buffet was fine.
Central access to lots of sites. Lovely staff. Enjoyed our stay.
Lovely overall
Front desk service was excellent during both shifts. The only negative was that the bed was so firm it hurt.
Nice neighborhood but dark and uncomfortable
This hotel has expanded into buildings across the street so our room was not in the main building but was, actually, a storefront on the street. It was noisy and dark, there were no windows because it was right on the street, and the beds were hard rocks. The breakfast was terrible, stale bread, dried-out eggs, and horrible coffee (unacceptable in Italy) and the breakfast staff was rude. We would not recommend this hotel at all. When we expressed our disappointment in the room, the front desk staff offered to move us to a different hotel in an entirely different neighborhood which would have been inconvenient and time-consuming. A very disappointing stay in Rome.
Receptionist were all very nice. Very accommodating and breakfast was great!
Reservation not honored
We arrived at hotel to find that they did have ourr reservation despite our confirmation. They moved is to a hotel miles away that was a terrible property.. one that we was showing as $67 night. Yet they collected our FULL FEE of $189! Not okay at all. They tried to tell us that the free breakfast would make up the difference. Breakfast consisted of cold eggs and stale Danish that were not edible. No reply from orbitz either despite 2 emails.
Great Stay
Amazing location. Great staff. Feels like you live in the best part of Rome during your stay. There is a garage called Parking Via Guilia that literally is 50 yards away to walk back to your car so parking is an issue, but not really for this option. Definitely recommend staying here even at a high rate !
Reasonable hotel for the price
We were only in Rome for 2 nights. The hotel was clean and tidy but the rooms were very very small. Two adults in the room was very cramped. Lucky we were mostly out.
Nice hotel in central location
Great simple hotel for a weekend break in Rome. 20 minutes from the Vatican City and 25 minutes from the Colosseum. Nice standard of rooms, perfect for a short stay. Would definitely recommend to friends and family.
pictures misleading
The room looked nothing like the pictures on orbitz. The staff was very short when checking in and when we were checking out early the front desk person was sleeping in the room next door and didnt have our check out info in his binder ( which is very not efficient to begin with) so our van had to wait on the tiny street where the hotel is located, getting honked at because other cars couldnt pass. I usually give hotels the benefit of the doubt but the room looked nothing like the pictures. Do not be fooled, it is not a 4 star hotel, more like a 1.5 to 2 star. Definitely not worth the price.
Good position for seeing sights in Rome. Hotel clean, breakfast was fantastic.
Fantastic location
Excelent staff esecially a young lady by the name of Assandre , very helpful and kind. Breakfast excellent. Very good value for the money.
Well ocation, but the hotel needs imorovements
The hotel is rated as a four stars hotel, but it should not. Well located, but the hotel is expensive compared to other hotels in the area and considering its conditions. The room for 4 is too small and the reception, carpets, walls, and in general rhe facility needs imirovements.
Nice hotel close to attractions
This hotel was great, especially for the price. Rooms are small but cozy and comfortable. Great location close to major attractions, but on a quiet, cute street.
Moved to another hotel that smelled like sewer
Once we arrive at the hotel they informed us that they are moving us to another hotel ( should have done before hand as we just had a long travel from New York ) sent to the hotel Trevi that hotel smells like a septic tank and they never did anything to remedy the situation overall the room was beautiful but the smell was overwhelming. We were in a beautiful suite that held all four of us and there was a door directly off the street by the Trevi fountain overall was beautiful but the smell ruined the experience.
Excellent Holiday
Overall a great stay in an excellent location, would definitely return.
Central for the main sites
Great location being quite central between the main sites. Great restaurants and shops within easy walking distance. The room was small but very modern and clean. Lots of satellite channels but none in English. All the staff very pleasant and helpful except for one lady. Fantastic breakfast.
Great location, not much else
Points for location only. Rooms are small but not terribly so, but terribly designed: there is a nook for the luggage rack which does not fit when it is folded out, and a chair that does not fit under the desk or anywhere else if you'd like to walk on both sides of the bed (except the shower). Bathroom was very nice and spacious. Staff were generally unfriendly (we walked through the lobby without a hello several times and I think there are only 12 rooms in the hotel---the lobby is not large). Also got an insistent request for a voucher (not needed) at check-in and had to argue.
friendly staff , good breakfast. rooms were a little small to American standard! we loved our stay there . they were cooperative .
Very conveniently located
The hotel rooms are very small, and the carpets could use a cleaning, but the breakfast is outstanding and the location is good.
Fantastic location
The only negative is that most of the rooms are tiny. You need to be very tidy and organised as no room for open suitcases. Everything else was fantastic. Would be very happy to stay again. Very comfortable bed, very clean room, very good size bathroom. Nice breakfast. very friendly and good service.
I would definitely consider staying there again.
Staff was courteous, considerate & tried to be helpful.
Much smaller and noisier than expected
A nice enough hotel but it was in a particularly noisy part of the city. Additionally, the images on the website suggest the hotel and rooms are much larger than they are. Our bathroom was particularly tiny. The dining room was also ridiculously small for the amount of tables and chairs they had in there. The double bed was one of those awful "two singles pushed together" types. Oh and finally, the wifi was atrociously slow. On the plus side, the cleaning was excellent, it is conveniently located for walking to most of the major tourist spots and there was the excellent Lucifero taverna less than 90 seconds walk away.
Great experience..
Great location, nice staff, comfortable bed and room - would definitely stay there our next visit. 45 minutes to the airport and the staff arranged for our taxi - perfect.
Nice hotel in a great location
Great small hotel in a very central location within easy access to most sites in a quiet place. Easy connection to Termini station - bus 40 - 15 min. Very cosy and friendly. Exceptionally clean. Very reach breakfast ( breakfast room a bit tight). Very good value for money.
cheap windows mean a lot of noise
excellent breakfast. a big problem with the rooms facing the street is that the windows are cheap, and do not provide sound insulation. you hear everything 24/7. the hotel needs to change the windows ASAP.
The staff were wonderful especially Felicia who made us special coffee ever morning. The location was excellent as we walked everywhere. Very good restaurants in walking distance
my stay was a very nice one. Friendly staff members. I needed a scale to weigh my luggage and you couldn't accommodate us.I think it will be sanitary if u remove the rugs from the rooms otherwise very nice.
Decent Hotel
This hotel was satisfactory. It was in a good location to easily access most of the main attractions in Rome. The best mode of transportation is the bus, which has a stop very close to the hotel. One of the staff members was very helpful. (an insightful lady from Baltimore .) However, the other staff members were just blah.
Our room was small, but the bed was smaller. One of the desk clerks was outstanding and hospitable; the other was surly and unhelpful. Breakfast was beautifully presented and delicious. Our room was on the 4th floor but the elevator only went to the 3rd floor.
Good hotel in great area
For what you get, it is a great value. The location is fantastic, just a three minute walk from Piazza Campo di Fiori. Buffet breakfast that's included is good for Italy. Internet is included but face it, you are in Italy and internet service is not the greatest. I would return. Careful if you book a single room, there is really no closer space and you will be living out of your suitcase. The "closet" is not high enough to even hang shirts. Stay away from room 103.
Nice little hotel close to most historic sites
Great little hotel with a little lift! Comfy and clean. Buffet breakfast with plenty of choice. The staff were very helpful, Regina in particular. She was born in the US so has excellent English and Italian. The Spanish steps, Panthenon, Trevi fountain and Colosseum are within walking distance as is the Vatican, Very central. Make sure you take paracetomol as I paid 6 euro for 12 at the local pharmacy! I went on the 31st Jan 2014 when the rain started and it didn't stop. Regardless, it was a great experience.
Best location, friendly and modern hotel
The location of the hotel is great, also just one street back from a busier road and therefore very quiet. Only a short stroll to Piazza Campo de' Fiori and Piazza Navona. A 20 minute walk to the Vatican and 30 minutes to Colosseum. Various busses stop just around the corner; very convenient. The hotel itself is smallish, only 15 rooms, but with a clever and modern design. Everything works: taps, shower, aircon, etc. and quality fittings are used. The breakfast was included and well presented. The barista did fantastic work to make sure, you start your day with an excellent cappuccino. The hotel and the rooms were very clean and everything smelled nice and fresh.
Could not fault it!
I could not find a fault with the place. All the reviews are about its location which is true! We personally walked everywhere in good time, and it was enjoyable as there are lovely buildings on any route. As for the hotel, we checked in at 23:50 and were greeted nicely and quickly checked in. I dont know about the other rooms but ours was perfect, a good sized room, bathroom was good size and clean with a brilliant shower and even a little space between the rooms which had the wardrobe, 2 chairs and a full length mirror (we used it as a dressing room/ pre drinks room). Good TV, everything clean, very modern finish! Breakfast is what you expect, pastries, cereal etc, I enjoyed it anyway and staff at breakfast were pleasant! When leaving they sorted out a cab to the airport. On the whole, the most ideal hotel we could have asked for. I'd definitely recommend this.
Excellent location and modern room
We spent 3 nights at this hotel at the end of October, 2013. The best thing about this hotel is its central location. It allowed us to take a break back at the hotel after seeing one site before going out again. We also liked its modern decoration and the beds are very comfy. Very clean. The continental breakfast is fine, but the room is quite small, like a UK B&B. It's a great hotel for sightseeing.
Scammed
We were bumped to a different "sister" property that they said was 4 star. Not even close. When I looked into it, I found the rates were significantly cheaper so they hooked us with a good rate and then moved us when they realized they could sell the room for more. Ruined the end of what had been a wonderful tour of Italy. They offered no compensation or apology of any kind. It seemed like it was standard practice at this place and the other hotel was used to seeing moved guests.
A great choice the 4 of us.
The hotel was perfect for us in a location close to everything! I would return and highly recommend to friends and family.
Hotel Rinascimento
We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were excellent! They took their time to explain and answer all our questions. The room was small but exactly what we needed - it's Rome, u only need to sleep in there at night. The shower was great. And I was traveling with my mom and we felt very safe in the area. It was central enough to walk to alot of sights. We took the bus from the central station and the stop was minutes from the hotel. Piazza Navona is very close, as well as many restaurants and a grocery store. Breakfast was well done. They made fresh quiche and bruschetta every morning as well as fruit salads. They had yogurt, juices and pastries as well. Enough to start the day. We were never unable to sit down for breakfast in the room as well, even though it is small. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay here.
Great to be in Rome, hotel stay OK
Disappointed in the size of the room, especially the bathroom. Too small for both.
Rooms a little tight on space but Very clean and modern. Breakfast was a charming surprise - how good it was. Great central location. Would highly recomend!
Great Location, Great Hotel
The location could not be any better. The hotel is just steps off Campo de Fiori, really close to Campo Navona and a short walk off the Vatican, Spanish steps and Fontana Trevi. The hotel is well maintained with a comtemporary look. The breakfast was great and the staff was super friendly. The location of the hotel is absolutely the best, we already recommended it to friends visiting Rome soon.
Great hotel for a couple!
The hotel was in the perfect location for a couple wishing to see the sights of Rome, as it was the same distance to walk to every landmark and easy to navigate around and find once your sightseeing is done with. It is also right next door to the Campo De Fiori and Piazza Navona, both amazing areas to dine and drink wine in the evening. The continental breakfast catered for everyone and was always fresh, with the chef constantly appearing to top up the buffet and ensure everyone was pleased with their food. The staff were also very helpful in guiding us to trains and transport around Rome, letting us leave our bags in the lobby on the last day of the holiday. The only down side was our initial expectation of the room. The photos suggested the room would be large, but the room we were given was actually rather small. But it was still a very good standard and the open roman window shutters were a lovely touch. Definately recommend!
great location in heart of rome away from crowds!
We stayed for 6 nites w/ our 2 boys 12 and 14. We fretted about warnings of sleeping a family in rome. We failed to verify our accommodations via phone; all we had was an e-mail classifying quadruple. We arrived quickly from the airport and had our room available before noon. The bed situation was classic Europe cute. More than enough room for the 4 of us and comfortable too. Once we figured out the lighting, the window and thermostat made us masters of our domain. The staff was great; multi-lingual, pleasant and helpful (with directions, local customs and knowledge of the city workings). There was a computer for general use in the waiting area which helped; as we made this an electronics free trip! The highlight of our experience with this gem of a hotel (only 15 rooms or so), was morning buffet. With prices in Rome at restaurants exorbitantly high, the varied and delicious offerings at breakfast made it our main meal of the day. Considering the high prices on lodging in Rome, I would recommend the Hotel Rinascimento to any traveller to the "Eternal City."
Great hotel, staff outstanding, good selection at breakfast, position for sightseeing on foot excellent and plenty of local places to eat. Bedroom small but well fitted out. En-suite has a great shower and all mod cons. The downside was, virtually no hanging wardrobe space although four small drawers did help for smaller items. The in-room safe provided peace of mind in this busy city. A quiet back street position except on Friday night and probably Saturday too. All in all a winner for a four night or so stay, it is obviously a winner to other guests as repeated in the visitor's book.
hotel was great minus the bait and switch scam
When we arrived at the hotel at 1 p.m. we were informed that the hotel was overbooked and they would have to move us to a sister hotel in another location. Being familiar with this scam, I insisted that we would not be moving to a different hotel. The desk clerk argued with us for several minutes then placed a call. Miraculously they found us a room that was available AND ready for check-in! While the room was in very good condition and the location was extremely central without being noisy from thousands of tourists; the free wifi had a terrible connection and I would NOT recommend this hotel based on the scam they pull.
worst Hotel
the worst Hotel we ever stayed, service ,dirty rooms a lot of noise, staff rude.
Small, modern, well-run hotel in good location.
I can't really fault this hotel. It is not a 5 star with a luxury spa, bar and restaurant (if you want that choose somewhere else) but if you want a clean well-run hotel in a good location then I think this is a very good choice. I have been to Rome 6 or more times now and stayed at various 5 star hotels. I needed to save money this time and chose this hotel as good cheaper alternative. I am very glad I did. The free wifi is needed in this day and age and unusually for cheaper hotels the road outside the hotel is not busy. It is a small cobbled street.
Excellent location.
Location is unbeatable, walking distance to the Vatican......three minutes away to Campo d Fiori. The only bad is the size of the breakfast room, besides that everything was excellent.
hidden jewel!!
what a pleasant surprise! Ideally located a short walk to the Vatican on one side and the Forum/Colusseum on the other. The room was small, but honestly all we look for when we travel is a good bed with white sheets and a hot shower. This hotel exceeded in both! Other reviews complained about the size of the breakfast area. yes it is small but offered more than our friend's hotel 500 meters away at 3 times the price!!! Everything was updated and we will definitely come back. A steal for the price!!!
Disappointing
Staff people were so rude and rooms so small, I would not recommend to anyone. Clean enough but felt like it was a dorm instead of a hotel. Shuttle service and room service are essentially non-existent.
Great location, minutes from multiple sites
Hotel is pretty well centrally located to a lot of sites. It took me 20 minutes to walk to the Vatican and 15 minutes to the pantheon. The colossium is a little further away but not out of walking range for an active person. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel and the consierge made a couple of great recommendations for me. The only two things I did not like about the hotel were the first room they assigned me at checkin clearly had not been cleaned from previous use, but they quickly fixed the situation. The other thing was that I couldn't watch single tv channel without paying for it. They didn't have the basic 10 channels where at least one is in English. Channels were packaged together for purchase. The Internet connection was great there and I was able to download movies from iTunes faster than at any other hotel in Italy that I stayed at.
Never again!
Most of the staff was abrupt and difficult. The day after we checked in the woman at the desk TOLD my daughter to quickly move out of their room because the man who checked us in made a mistake with the room type. We were just leaving for an appointment.! Then when I checked out the man (he wouldnt give me his name!) working the morning of September 4 was extremely rude. When I was quietly conveying a point that he didn't like, he accused me of "yelling" at him. Our rooms were hot and smaller than small!
Close to sights
Great location. Decent stuff speaking decent English. Nicely decorated. The only down side is some rooms are very very small. Breakfast room is really small as well.
Very family friendly
Anyone traveling in europe knows it is hard to find inexpensive accommodations for four, the Rinascimento fits the bill in Rome. Our room was small but very comfortable. The bathroom is large with a modern shower. The breakfast is very good and the staff was pretty helpful. The neighborhood is charming and convenient close to good resturuants, bus stop and stores. We all would recommend this hotel.
This hotel is very nice, it's about a 15 minute walk to the Vatican.. Rooms are clean, modern and comfortable.

Loved location and how clean it was. Didn’t like the bathroom size and there was a weird podium
