So lovely traditional Moroccan Riad. It is located great place in center of Marrakech, so you could access to Koutoubia Mosque, Medina, Bahia Palace, Jamaa el-Fnaa by walk.
The property is in a fantastic location, right in the heart of the Medina. While the women at the front desk and service staff were polite and accommodating. But one male staff member was extremely rude and dishonest. He overcharged us beyond the Expedia quoted price and was overly pushy in trying to sell tours and recommend restaurants. The rooms were decent but came with several issues, including bathroom doors that wouldn’t lock and a lack of hot water at night. Additionally, the deluxe room was much smaller than advertised on Expedia, certainly not the 500 sqft as listed.
What a beautiful place and a great little rooftop pool as well!
Sayed was the best! Food was fantastic and the location was great. Very helpful with all our transportation, etc. We could not have been better taken care of.
Good
Very authentic place. Good location. Great service. Pool and rooftop area very nice. It is down a back street which can make you feel slightly apprehensive but so are most Riads and it is safe. I think the one thing I would like the staff to do is improve their communication. They didn’t tell us about city tax until last day- you can only pay in euros or dirham CASH and not card. Luckily we scraped enough together but if we couldn’t then it wouldn’t have been good. Also we asked for our boarding passes printed which they agreed but only when printed they said it was 20 dirham. The last thing was they never told us there was a 12pm curfew. They let us in at 2am but we would’ve rather not been an inconvenience to them. Rooms were ok a little dirty to be honest. There was no option to not asked for the room cleaned every day and had to leave key at reception whenever you leave riad. However it was a very authentic riad service was lovely and I would recommend it!
The Riad is beautiful and the staff is amazing. The Riad is in a great location, close to all the sites. The Riad is also off a main road and easy to find. Not in a maze lol. There is a sqaure 2 mis walk where you can get a taxi. Lots of shops and food nearby. Would definitely stay here again. Great stay!
Like: - Access to city centre. Important landmarks of Marrakech are walkable. - Helpful staff. Zahira, Saeed, Aziza lend help as much as they can. - Minimum but sufficient breakfast. - Decent room - Had heaters in room and toilet - Good for the price we paid for Improvements - Room was bit small and congested - Washroom utilities - No staff to drop your luggage from/to cab - Looks bit old and need some makeover
Without explanation they have changed the hotel. I had booked taxi transfer as well from the airport and the driver brought us to another address. That felt very uncomfortable. There is no 24 reception service. They kept rhe frontdoor open and our key on the front desk. After cleaning they did not locked the room. The breakfast is only with sweet marmalade.
Loved the feeling it had, staff were helpful and we enjoyed the room also the place is near by a lot of attractions walking distance so that was helpful
Fantastic Riad!!!
The staff was outstanding. The Riad is lovely. The rooftop pool, the cool comfortable Riad and the AC in the bedrooms was a wonderful retreat from the 40 degree heat of Marrakesh in Aug. Great quiet location - close to palaces and museum and an easy walk to the centre of the action in the Medina. Taxi's close by for longer trips or getting to and from train or bus station. The staff was wonderful - always pleasant, welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great. Three of us did a cooking class with the Riad cook. She took us shopping, we made a bunch of dishes and had a fantastic feast on the roof in the evening. Absolute worth it. They helped book a day tour for part of our group. Just an exceptional five day stay. We absolutely recommend Riad Carina.
Fantastic, easy and enjoyable experience.
Riad Carina lives up to the expectations. The hotel has just been renewed, and It looks fantastic. The attention is personal and friendly. They care for you and they will even take you to the place you are attempting to go with you. Said is there at night to receive you and there is always someone there to welcome. Someone will speak English, French, Arabic or Spanish to communicate. If if you want a drink that is not on the menu they will make an effort to find it for you and won't charge you any extra for it. We got the room on the roof, it was clean, with air con and we had wi-fi as well. We had our breakfast just a few steps away from our room and the swimming pool. Riad Carina was also quiet and while it was just 6 minutes away from the big market and Jamaa El Fna square it was a fantastic refuge from all the mess and intensity of Marrakech. I highly recommend this riad and I would again.
GREAT LOCATION NEAR THE JEMMA AL FINA AND PALACE
Stayed for 5 nights and 6 days in Marekesh (4 days is more than enough). Prices are hecked up so always bargain....whatever is the price half it and deduct further 5-10 Dh's, ...bargain and eventually you will come to 50% price. Places to see is the Atlas mountain Tour, which we got the tickets from the shop and not the hotel, which was a bargain.....here too bargain as no price is fixed even though the board says otherwise. Visit the New city, BUs 6 will take you for Dh4 single from near the Bus stand. Sugar cane juice is a good especially with a bit of lemon juice in it. Massage argan oil was very relaxing though it was steep in price. Careful of the visits to the leather and carpet making as the smell will put you off buying the leather goods and also the guide was rude and also you could end up paying him a lot of money which you are told is free but remember that nothing is free and fix price before you go with guide.
Great riad, good location and fantastic service.
Just stayed at riad Carina for 5 nights and had a wonderful time there. Staff and Said (he really made an effort, thanks) were very welcoming and helpful! The riad is beautifully decorated and comfortabel. The breakfast was every morning on the rooftop, watching the sunshine. It was a short walk to main square and its within walking distance of so many place, so getting around was really great! Would definitely stay again when in Marrakech!
superb Stay at Riad Carina
Just back from a 5 day trip to Marrakech. stayed in Riad carina, Saeed and the rest of the staff were friendly, helpful and always greeting you with a smile. The riad takes you back a 100 years in it's surroundings, tranquillity and peace. A walking distance to the centre of Marrakech and it's historic splendour. Will definitely go back again to Riad carina.
Wonderful staff, beautiful interior
We had 4 nights at Riad Carina. After arranging a slight upgrade we were actually given the suite, a lovely gesture. The room was great and heating available for the chillier evenings. Azziza and Said always met us with a smile and gave us helpful tips for negotiating our way around the Medina. The roof terrace and internal patio were beautiful and so calm, a great retreat for a break from the excitement of the bustling streets. Breakfast of fresh bread, jams, pancake, fresh juice and coffee or morrocan tea on the patio was lovely. Watching the storks on the terrace while relaxing in the sun was a real treat. Great staff, beautiful building (although you'd never guess how lovely from the unassuming door from the alley way - something we found throughout the Medina!). Thank you!
An oasis of Calm
A traditional Riad near the heart of Medina , easily accessible from Taxi drop off .An oasis of calm to escape the bustling Medina . The friendly staff here made it a home for us during our stay , and the breakfast was a joy. We stayed here on three seperate occasions during our visit to Morrocco and would be more than happy to stay there again .
A great comfortable place with good location in the medina but off on a quiet side street. Close to the action but in a peaceful location.
Oasis among the medina
What I love about this place is coming in from the madness of Marrakech going to the terrace and either watching the storks fly high or settle in their nests on the walls of the medina. As for the staff they could not have been more welcoming. This is my second time staying there and its the best place I have found on low budget accommodation under the 30euro mark . We missed Siad but still glad to see familiar and welcoming staff. Great place 😊
hotel carina
was wonderful except the breakfast - not much for vegetarians. otherwise the stay there was lovely including the staff were really nice.
My favourite Riad in Marakech!
It was just like coming back to friends, I turned back after two years and was welcomed as a friend! my favorite room was nicely prepared for me, all the staff was still there and doing everything to make us guests feel comfortable and well looked after. Looking forward to my next trip to Marrakech: Marci pour the hospitality - no wishes where unanswered!
unexpected stay
1.too many mosquitos flying round inside and outside the room 2. uncomfortable bed 3. very dim lighting 4. unable to lock our room, because the hotel staff said it is safe and we do not need to lock it. 5. they turn off the wifi at night after midnight
Fantastic, good location, friendly staff, great breakfast!
I would go back
Good location, staff were very friendly and knowledgeable of the city and places you could see and visit.
Beautiful riad, apathetic staff
We stayed two nights and really enjoyed the riad. We were upgraded to a suite and just loved it, even though the drains in the sink and shower didn't work. We booked a room with them again two days later and upon arrival were informed that the reservation was cancelled because someone else booked the room before us; which was untrue. We showed them our confirmation email and they just shrugged their shoulders! They finally agreed to honour our reservation by moving us to another riad because they were basically overbooked. We didn't mind staying in another riad, but were really turned off by the way we were treated.
First trip to Marrakech
Great location for visiting the Saadian tombs, the Mella and the El Bahia palace. From the roof garden you get a closeup view of the white stork colony nesting on the wall of the El Badii palace next door. The Jamaa El Fna market and souks and the El Koutoubia Mosque are 15 minutes walk away. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The special Moroccan dinner they cooked for us was superb.
Great Staff, comfortable Raid
We stayed here for three nights. The first night we were in the building next door, but they moved us to a suite in the main building for the next two nights. The staff was very helpful and we took advantage of their airport transfer service, which was more expensive then a taxi but much more comfortable and you did not have to deal with paying the driver or negotiating the price. We had dinner in the hotel one night, it was one of the best meals with had during our stay in Marrakech. The neighborhood is quite which is nice and it is about a 10 minute walk to the main square. The room let in some noise from the central patio, was probably our only complaint.
Nice riad
Nice staff. Typical maroccan breakfast... Quite neighborhood
NEXT BUILDING
RIAD AS USUAL DIFFICULT TO FIND AT THE OUTSET. ROOM CHOSEN IN SEPERATE BUILDING BUT NOT IDENTIFIED IN DOCUMENTATION.
Excellent
Lovely, quiet hotel in a great location
The Riad was beautiful. A calm, quiet environment in the middle of a busy city. The open reception and dining area was wonderfully decorated and a great place to sit and relax. Our room was spacious and clean and had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this Riad. We were also able to use the facilities at the other two Raid's (including roof terrace and foot pool).
Great breakfast!
We arrived really late and had arranged a pick up from the airport - highly recommended as Marrakech can be difficult to navigate at first especially late at night. Carina staff and driver were absolutely amazing; breakfast was even better. Would definitely stay here again.
hotel riad carina
This place was absolute haven amongst the crazy and busy streets of Marrakesh , rooms clean all facilities in working order staff and friendliness was top class they could not do enough for us once you enter the building a complete space of peace and safety ! only a ten minute walk from the main square and alot of the must see sights around the corner from the hotel , once again \i cannot say enough for the houspitality of the staff and hotel , especially Siade a great help he was! The Breakfast was always filling and they even accomadated us with the breakfast on the roof top terrace! Great place to stay in Marrakesh at a very reasonable price.
The only issue was that the drainage was poor in the shower. Other than that, everything was excellent, especially the location and the breakfast.
Great Service !
We stayed in this hotel for a few nights and the service was great. When we arrived we were offered some Moroccan tea. The staff was always helpfull. The room was nice. Great value for money !!
Excellent location with excellent service
The riad was absolutely fantastic! We stayed here for two nights and joined their hammam and cooking class. The cooking class was a highlight and a unique experience that you must try while at Marrakech!
The comfort of a home with a 5 star service.
We recently came back from spending 6 nights at Riad Carina and we could not be happier with the service we got. Everything, from the transfer from the airport, to the way we were received was just perfect. Entering the patio area for the first time made us both feel like we had just entered a new world. The Sahara room was great, the bed was comfy and the bathroom was well appointed and the shower pressure was fine (the shower head could be set a little higher though!). The breakfast we ate every morning was also very good and well thought out. Another extra was the mint tea we got served whenever we wanted which we could enjoy up at the terrace, lying down on the chaise-longs from which you can watch the storks (they have a fascinating ‘welcome home’ ritual that’s worth seeing!). We would strongly recommend this Riad for whoever wants to experience what living in an old Moroccan home must have felt like, while being about 10/15 walk from the main square and within walking distance of some of the major sights in an area that, in spite of being very lively, it never really felt unsafe, even at 3 o'clock in the morning! Extra mention goes to the young man who looked after us for almost our entire stay: not only he did a wonderful job but, also, he was genuinely happy to help us out. Huge kudos to him and to the rest of the staff from Riad Carina. Keep it up, you’re doing everything right!
Great Location
Reasonably easy to find, great location and friendly staff. Wifi was a bit on & off, but apart from that it was a great stay.
Great mint tea
Lovely riad with friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay. Room was clean, spacious and beautifully decorated in typical Moroccan style. We were welcomed with lovely mint tea on arrival. Staff were helpful (re-confirmed our flights, etc). The roof terrace was especially nice & has various areas in sun/shade & good views of the storks nesting on Badi Palace walls next door. Breakfast was served in couttyard downstairs; yoghurt, pastries, bread, coffee, juice (but no tea). All very nice. The only negative was having to share the riad with smokers - inevitable, I know, but not pleasant when you wake up in the morning to smoke wafting in through the bedroom windows from the courtyard below. This would be the same with ALL riads, however, unless renting exclusively. Overall, excellent riad. Enjoyed!!
Perfect location, friendly staff
We stayed in mid-March for 3 nights and were very happy with the location and hospitality. Jemaa el Fna and the souks were easy walking distance (less than 10 minutes) and the palaces and tombs were on the doorstep. The staff amazing, going out of their way to help with any queries or requests. The only issue we had was that our room was on the ground floor, with windows and entrance facing onto the dining room/courtyard. We found it a bit awkward on the first night and morning, but it didn't spoil our experience and we would definitely stay again based on points above.
A tranquil haven
Riad Carina is located in a quiet street & within walking distance of the Jeema el-Fna as well as many of the main tourist sighs including the El-Badi & Bahai Palaces, Saadian Tombs, the souks, the Ben Youssef Medursa, the Kasbah & Koutoubia Mosques to name a few. The Riad is tastefully decorated in the Berber style & has a very calm presence. The staff were at hand to answer any questions & to provide a refreshing pot of mint tea upon request. They were always welcoming & friendly. The room was very clean & comfortable. We chose the Cannelle room on the roof terrace where we had a great view of the walls of the el-Badi Palace & the storks that nest there. We also ordered dinner at the Riad. The food was better than any other we had eaten during our time in Marrakech. Our stay at the Riad really enhanced our experiences in Marrakech & we would certainly stay there again & have no hesitation in recommending it to friends.
Great hotel for a peaceful stay
A truly wonderful, quiet and welcoming small riad. The staff are very helpful, and if you book an evening meal there you are in for a great treat. Also a lovely terrace with storks nesting only yards away!
In the hearth of the historical part
We appreciated not only the location, but especially the elegant look of the rooms, court and terrace, which was furnished with a very good sense for the architecture and spirit of the site. The personnel was very helpful and friendly. Also the numerous white storks in the nests in the nearby pallace walls completed the exotic atmosphere of the hotel.
Very happy at Riad Carina
I planned a trip to Marrakesh on a whim as part of a larger excursion in Europe, a place I was more comfortable with. As a solo female traveler arriving in the evening, I was initially very nervous. When I called the Riad Carina to confirm the reservation, they offered to set up an airport transport for me, and a driver picked me up from the airport, and walked me right to the door of the Riad, which is not accessible by car. Once inside, my concerns disappeared as I was charmed by the place, and made to feel right at home. I was greeted, given mint tea and small cookies, and encouraged to relax, and settle in. The person in charge of the hotel showed me (and walked with me) to a small restaurant just around the corner, and I had a very nice dinner before tucking in for the night. My room was quaint and clean, and there were rose petals scattered in it the first night -- on the linen, the bathmat, etc. The Riad is in a nice location, a short walk from the main square and monuments, in a neighborhood which is quiet at night and very safe. I spent my days and evenings running around in the hustle bustle of Marrakesh, and then was able to escape it at night for a very pleasant sleep. Breakfast is both tasty and is served very elegantly in a small side room, and after asking for tea with sugar on the first day, I found it automatically on my breakfast platter. Most other guests were families or larger groups of adults, and the comfortable atmosphere seemed to encourage polite conversations among the various guests (which was nice as I like to feel a sense of community.). Overall, the place was delightful, and the staff went above and beyond to ensure that I felt at home and comfortable. I would recommend Riad Carina to anyone looking for a warm, intimate place with a cozy feeling, and particularly for couples, families, or solo travelers like me looking for something new and different.
Best Riad in Marrakech probably
Great Riad, very welcoming and familiar, great staff, very good value for money. Can not recommend it enough, also i risk not to get a room when coming back, hopefully very soon! Thanks a lot and all the best to all of you
Great find in Marrakech!
The hotel staff alone would have made my stay at the Riad Carina a wonderful experience.Combined with the Riad's charming interior and excellent location this has become one of those stays that I will long remember with fondness. Enjoyed myself so much that I stayed an extra night. If you stay here be sure to make arrangements to have dinner at the Riad. The food and service are outstanding. Only criticism would be that breakfast could be a bit more varied.
Hotel Riad Carina in Marrakech, Morocco
The Riad Carina was exactly like the photos posted on the internet. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. The hotel will also arrange transportation for 20 Euro from the airport to the hotel. It's close to the Souk and restaurants. The location is great and I will definitely return there.

It's a beautiful riad close to the medina center with large rooms and friendly staff.
