Excellent job!
We enjoyed our stay as the hotel was comfortable, had all the facilities necessary
It doesn't have air conditioning
No air conditioning in the room and the hotel terrible
It was a great view from the hotel.
Loved Quito!
The staff was very friendly. The breakfast every morning was terrific. The view from the restaurant is amazing.
Very affordable.
Breakfast limited food. Not variety
Excellent Location
Good service!
Great location
We stayed at the hotel last year & it has not changed, the location & general facilities are good, heated pool and gym, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel was built in 1963 as is now looking tired although everything works, except the WiFi which is hit & miss depending on where you are in the hotel. Would not hesitate to stay there again.
Dinning at Techo Del Mundo with an amazing view to the Valley on the east, gorgeous view of the mountains on the north, and marvelous lights of the west and south. Great service by all waiting staff, led by Bolivar who was very attentive and gracious. I hosted a luncheon for 22 guests who were very impressed by the food quality and service.
Buena Opcion para hospedarse!
Estadia confortable en una buena ubicación, el hotel es antiguo pero se mantiene bien cuidado. Buena opción cuando visitamos Quito
Good hotel, good value, great views to the east, with lots of proximate dining options. Unfortunately during our stay there was no hot water. Staff advised there was a failure somewhere that was being worked on, but that evening there was still no hot water (like warm at best).
The hotel is nice and specious, however it out dated and in need of a renovation. I came about 7 years ago and it was in way better condition. I hope tourism pick up in Ecuador since it’s a beautiful place. The hotel is very nice and cozy and the staff is very friendly.
Great amenities
My room had a beautiful view over the mountains. The area felt safe & staff friendly & helpful. The amenities were more than I expected with a huge heated outdoor pool, sauna, spa & steam room. The restaurant was lovely overlooking the lights of Quito.
The hotel is nice, great view of the city, conveniently located in a residential area (next to my friend’s condo). I was offered a box breakfast when I left the hotel before breakfast time.
Classic Ecuadorian property. Situated on a ridge in the Andes, overlooking a valley. Beautiful views, large pool and excellent dining room. At an unbelievable price!
Great staff and security
The property is old and under-maintained. The rooms are lacking basic amenities. Based on the unbearable construction noise (8:00-17:00), we were led to believe the property was under renovation. Too bad it was on the floor above our room. There is a super loud club across the street - Club Sushi - that blasts music from 10 PM to ~2 AM. If you are in a room facing the road, you will hear it. Loud and clear. Did I mention the old facility, poorly isolated rooms? On the weekend, the casino club and bar in the hotel open as well. You’ll have an opportunity to choose the DJ you like most. To get away from the noisy construction and booming clubbing, we were asked to pay for a room upgrade (Literally doubling the price per night) which was better but still on the noisy street side. If it weren’t very close the the family we were visiting, we’d never go back to Hotel Quito.
Near everything.
Great hotel, great staff, needs some refurbishment
Picked do to proximity to friends and family. Very affordable price. Property needs updating and upkeep. Poorly organized service and lack of amenities such as fridge in the rooms, no access to ice machine, low quality food, often cold hot food and hot cold food. Would not return to this facility.
The location was good for shopping and dining. The property is in need of a little paint but the staff was very helpful! D
Really nice clean hotel. But it needs updating in some areas. No air conditioning or heating. Window cooling only.
Food was mediocre.
The rooms were very clean and comfortable. Staff went above and beyond making our stay as pleasant as possible. Overall we had an excellent experience; and would highly recommend others to stay.
Wonderful staff
There was an exterior door to my room that had no lock and no way to be locked. There was no hot water the shower was lukewarm at best. Staff was wonderful very helpful everyone there was great but whoever owns the hotel needs to maintain it better
Great location for our needs. Lots of restaurants nearby. A little dated but staff was super friendly and it met our needs perfectly.
Great view, smallish room
I liked and everything
Excellent location and view. Very poor breakfast
Like the outdoors view, the front door presentation, This hotel needs staff coordination and upgrade, the entire carpet is dirty, takes 2 days to activate the room telephone, the bathtub mat has mold, and I have an accident and they make me pay for Dr. assistance ( unsafe position of the dining table :( "Very unpleasant experience!
buen hotel cerca de todo, un poco vieja la construccion pero esta bien
The hotel is okay. Clean but dated. Made us pay with credit card on the check in for entire stay as policy. The staff was nice but it needs work to update in general. Great views and nice property in back to walk .
My Only real Complaint is my room was very cold no individual heating in room
Expedia gave me one price, but at the hotel they told me to pay more because the price I got on Expedia was for foreigners not for Ecuadorians. Also they charged about $5 for a swimming cap if I wanted to use the pool, they had to warned me before booking. When I asked them to get me a taxi to the airport they said $28 when outside the lobby there is a taxi stop that charges $19. I don’t trust them, they don’t care about their guests but about making money .
Excellent location. Needs in room coffee maker.
Extra chargers for a visitor! I have never been charged for a friend to visit me I think that ridiculous and I have stayed in plenty hotels but this one was the worst
This is a great location in Quito, amazing views from the dining room. Breakfast was great, even if Covid makes it not a buffet but the staff bring to you what you want. the only thing is the rooms are a little dated and need of an upgrade. But value for money is excellent.
The staff was helpful and friendly
Friendly, professional staff
Good 👍
Quiet, excellent service, friendly personnel, good food, centrally located.
Loved Quito and the people and I felt very safe too
Good location for food, very friendly, helpful staff. Enjoyed the large swimming pool, relaxing and the views.
Just what a hotel should be. Buffet breakfast is a bit pricey ($14), but everything is good and service is impeccable.
Good location, clean and nice hotel. Breakfast was good as well. Only issue was a billing error that took frustratingly to long to correct.
One of the worst places to stay, unsafe, old, and couldnt sleep at all. Cable doesnt work on tv, wifi also doesnt. One of the worst experience ever.
Not bad
Overall a very presentable hotel with great amenities for the area.
Excellent choice, reasonable, beautiful pool, conveniently situated. Was only disappointed to find out that breakfast was not included because they said we got the discounted rate instead.
I was visiting Quito sola, and felt incredibly welcomed by the staff. They speak excellent English, and the hotel was very clean. I did feel uneasy having a shared balcony, seeing as I was traveling alone. If I had known beforehand that several rooms shared the same one, I would have paid extra for a room with a private balcony. The location of the hotel was great for me, as I was visiting a university in Cumbaya and Quito.
Crooks. Hotel claimed that I did not have a reservation with Expedia. Not sure who is to blame. My guess is the hotel.
The views and pool are lovely. The rooms are clean and comfortable. There are several nice restaurants within walking distance. The hotel arranged for us to take some day trips outside of Quito. They arranged for a driver named Christian. He was excellent- safe, dependable and polite.
Very nice, comfortable, clean, well located. Gym, pool, room service. Highly recommend.
Gate 1 traveler
Very clean. Nicely maintained hotel. Lots of restaurants near by.
Spacious rooms, strong wifi signal, great pool amenities, reasonable rooftop restaurant. Friendly & attentive staff.
Hotel Quito
Hotel has a beautiful view over the pool overlooking mountains and a valley. The rooftop restaurant also has spectacular views. The staff were 10/10! They were extremely welcoming, friendly, and helpful.
Good hotel, service was a little slow on one occasion. The staff was overall very helpful.
Location good for old town business area.
The hotel is located in a nice area with many restaurants nearby. The car services is excellent especially the hostess at VIP Transportation desk, she is very helpful. Wifi is not very good but fitness center is okay. It opens at 6:30am. I wish it opens earlier. The restaurant in the hotel is not very exciting but it has a good view. Breakfast for $14 is not worth it.
At check in counter it was a horrible experience. My flight arrived at last Friday night at 11:30pm, hotel arranged airport pick up that was very smooth until I reached the front desk to check in, the front desk could not find my reservation. I showed a copy of my confirmation email that my stay was prepaid. The staff told me they could only check with reservation office on Monday, at meantime, please pay for the hotel room. I called the hotel.com number the call cost on my phone from Ecuador to the US is almost $2 per minute. I was on hold and spoke to an agent then put me on hold and came back to the same answer, I was told if I want to stay in this hotel I must pay first and wait till Monday to resolve it. That is three nights away. ( What if I plan to leave before Monday?), they would resolved it and sent me an email on Monday. Any way, it was midnight, I paid and stayed. Unhappy and unwillingly I waited till Monday. Tuesday almost gone I have heard nothing, another phone call to the US trying to resolve it. My toll call costs me over $65 and was told to wait for another day to resolve it. It was resolved at the end but very frustrating and wasted hours on the phone and toll.......
Hotel Quito was perfect for a short stay. The concierge found a fabulous individual tour guide that wizzed is to all the key sites! The hotel restaurant has a fantastic view and excellent food. Olga Fisch was a short walk away. I highly recommend this modern hotel
ok
Enjoy
Nice hotel
Hotel from 1970 - Internet from 1970 too!
My biggest complaint about Hotel Quito is the quality and performance of the WiFi. It was necessary to constantly be reconnecting to the network. Speed was really slow when you were connected. And the password would only work part of the time. When on a trip for business this really doesn't work because connecting to the network is not really optional. Also, the room didn't have electrical outlets where I could plug-in my computer and other devices without unplugging lamps or the TV.
Great pool and fitness facilities
We loved swimming and using the fitness facilities. Our room was spotless-we really appreciated coming back to a clean room at the end of our busy days.
Nice hotel
The hotel is close to nice restaurants and shopping
Hard to get a good night's sleep.
We upgraded to a superior room, but the rooms have no way to control the temperature or ventilation other than opening the window to a noisy and brightly lit part of the city. After tossing and turning most of the night, we were awakened by the hotel's alarm clock at 5:00 am that someone must have set and the cleaning people never turned off. We had to get up to figure out how to turn it off. Add to that a reading light that keeps flickering on even when shut off. The staff are all very nice and the front desk is trying to find us a quieter room for the next night supplied by our tour provider. BUT, instead of checking out the sights today, we will be trying to catch up on some sleep during the daylight hours.
Nice view awesome staff defentienly will go again thank you for a wonderful stay
Great hotel,near great restaurants.
The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious and comfortable. I would highly recommend staying at Hotel Quito if you are ever planning a trip to Quito, Ecuador. Many good restaurants walking distance from the hotel, great location. Very pleased with our stay, we would definitely return and stay at this hotel.
There was confusion concerning whether the breakfast buffet was included. On the first day, we were told that it was complimentary but upon check out, we were charged for each day. We had a group of 9 and each of us were told that it was complimentary. It was a delicious buffet but we would not have chosen it every day of our trip.
Great stay with a view
Great 5-night stay. Terrific view from the super clean and comfortable room. Friendly staff always willing to help. Great breakfast and dinner on the top floor restaurant. Nice pool too.
Great stay! Check out the rooftop restaurant and bar... excellent food, drinks and view!!
nice view of the valley
some rooms have been renewed, other ones are the old style. I received a new room which happened to be very close to a couple of noisy turbines, I requested to be moved and actually I was, but the most quite room in the storey namely 101 has old toilet and washbasin, and is smaller.
Perfect for our needs.
We have been coming to this hotel often for the last 3 years. They are friendly and helpful and the rooms are larger then the norm for the price. They have refurbished the bathrooms and you can ask for a shower or a tub if you want. The linens a new and everything is clean. They are quick in fulfilling your needs. I travel with my mother who is 91 and they even supply the wheelchair.
Nice hotel. Great location. Good food. Staff very helpful
I repeat all the time.
This is the seventh time in almost three years I have stayed at Hotel Quito. I travel with my mother who is 91 and the staff is extraordinary. I don't have to ask for the basic things like the wheelchair or the extra blanket they have them ready. If there is a thing I would improve is the restaurant. It is such a lovely place with the most incredible view, but the food does not fit its surroundings. Its not bad food, its just kind of blah. The service though is very good.
Don't stay at this hotel.
Trying this again. This hotel has only one place to eat. I checked in around 2pm. Having not eaten all day I wanted lunch. They had a buffet only no open menue. It was $28 US. Decided to go ahead with a very expensive lunch. Brought me bill of $36. Included tax plus a $3.95 tip for a buffet. When I said I was unhappy they more or,less told me to F-off. There is nothing within walking distance around this hotel. Room was spared.
Terrific location, beautiful 360 degrees views
Excellent restaurant, local and intl. food. Spacious rooms, could be upgraded regarding style, but comfortable. Affordable prices. Very capable and friendly staff. Taxis ready at all times. Very affordable taxis.
Spectacular views
We really enjoyed the entire experience, especially the excellent location
Nice hotel
I love to stay at this hotel. I like the masaje And the gym .
You get what you pay for
Great restaurant on site, but the Wi-Fi was the worst I have ever seen. For somebody traveling on business, this was definitely a nightmare
Still great after 25 Years
I used to love this Hotel when I used to reside in Quito; 25 years later, this place has been able to keep, maintain and excel the same level of service. All the staff are extremely friendly and tread us like family The view, the pool, the location, the food ...... Simple great !!!
Well located
Very old and not very well maintained. Internet (WiFi) was a nightmare.
Great view but old facilities.
Needs urgent revamp, rooms (and we tried two) smell like my grandma's drawers. Spectacular view, though, and the warm pool makes up somewhat, but still would rate it 3 stars.
Excelent Hotel
I enjoyed the hotel very much. Nice clean rooms, with very comfortable beds. Amazing pool and gardens. Th food ath the 7th floor restaurant was delicious. Overall staff was very friendly and professional, they were able to assist us with every request.
It is an old but renovated hotel, comfortable room and restaurant at 7th floor for breakfast. Very good location, near business district and restaurants.
Hotel Quito - Nice place to stay
Great except a bit far from historic colonial center Restaurant had great food and panoramic views
Very nice hotel! Great Location
I have a very good night at Hotel Quito. The hotel is well located, is just minutes away from Quito´s old downtown and business district. I got a nice room with great views of the surrounding valleys. The hotel got a huge outdoors heated pool and very nice gardens. Food at the restaurant was delicious, i really enjoy buffet breakfast, the restaurant is at the 7th floor so again great views. Overall staff was kind and very professional a recommend this hotel.
No Ventilation system- seriously!
Those not used to it should note no HVAC here. Lobby is beautiful and air-conditioned but rooms are not. I don't like air conditioning but it was VERY stuffy without ventilation at all. The good news is: windows open, although you must prop the heavy blackout curtains back with chair to get air in. And we had to open them or couldn't breathe. The bad news is: no window screens, although nothing flew in our room! We got a fan from housekeeping which helped air circulation.6th floor room had a great view; directly under the kitchen so there was noise around dinner but it subsided by about10 pm so not really a problem. Very adequate fitness building and beautiful pool.Like others reported, they did tell us at front desk that we had not paid - twice, in fact, at check-in and at check-out - even though we did pay through Hotels.com. We told them that and although one guy was pretty snarky, they took the charge off (however, it turns out they were going to charge us about $40/night less than I paid in advance; maybe a last-minute room price?). Clean but dated and pretty basic room ("Business" room),absolutely no information in the room about hotel services, area highlights, etc. that you typically use as a traveler. Comfortable bed. Staff very proficient with English. We stayed because of proximity to my son's house but I would probably spring for a more upscale experience next time.
Nice hotel
Hotel Quito has good location and great staff, the room was always clean and it has a really nice garden.
Hotel Quito - Honest Feedback
Nice hotel, but rooms are old fashioned, particularly bathroom and windows! Plus my balcony door was unlocked when I first entered the room. Hot tub didn't look so clean either. Friendly/helpful staff in general, although in the restaurant I found it to be a bit rushed/stupid rules (no shorts for breakfast...yet they have a swimming pool?? Weird!).
Great views!
This was the first time staying at Hotel Quito. I have been to Quito several times before on business. I was attending a conference at a hotel a few blocks away. Didn't want to pay the inflated price at the other hotel..... And I was glad I didnt! My room was very clean and comfortable. My husband is a smoker. Our room was on the first floor so instead of having a balcony, we had an outside door that opened into the side yard. That worked perfectly. I am a light sleeper and our room got early morning sun starting around 6:00 a.m. The drapes did a good job of blocking the light. The hotel is near a round-about so I am not sure if the rush hour honking would be an issue for some?? (Our room was on that side of the hotel) I've been to Ecuador before, so I know the honking is the local "customary" way of driving. I was already awake by the time it started so I can't say it's be enough to wake somebody up..... The restaurant on the 7th floor offered great food and a killer view. The coffee-cigar bar was very nice. The business center is open 24-7, with free coffee available throughout the day. We didn't have time to use the pool, which was a real shame. There were several places nearby within walking distance to eat. Or a $2 can ride could get you where you needed to be. I was wanting to decompress this trip, so I definitely liked being a little further down the street.
Hotel Quito
Great view, modern ambience, friendly staff, good restaurant, very slow and sometimes unusable wifi.
Booked the room and was denied at checkin
I booked through your service and when I arrived early evening the reservation was not honored. Worst hotel ever!
Don't stay here
When I arrived they said I had no reservation. I showed them my receipt. They said they knew nothing about the arrangement. . When I checked out they tried to charge me twice. I spoke with the manager, showed him the documentation; they refused to honor. I had a Spanish speaking person with me so language was not the problem. I did not want to call the police since I was in a foreign country. Still trying to get a refund.
Avoid this hotel
A mistake. At check in they claimed I did not have a reservation. I gave them a copy of the confirmations and they said they knew nothing about any arrangements. They said they would check. When I checked out they insisted on charging me twice! I had someone with me who speaks Spanish who explained the arrangement. They refused to accept the arrangement. Since I was in a foreign country I did not want to call the police. We are trying to get a refund. Its a shame as the facility is interesting, if tattered, and the views are wonderful; food ranges from average to outstanding. But best to avoid.
Best view in Quito.
One should ask for a room with an odd number so you can get the incredible view.
Amazing views, beautiful outdoor pool
My favorite hotel in Quito- located up on a hill overlooking both the mountain ranges on the backside of Quito and downtown on the other. Old town is a short 10 minute cab ride. I prefer to stay here instead of the heart of Old Town, as it can get noisy there at night.
Good historic hotel in Quito, with good service and facilities.
