Close to different restaurants and transportation.
Decent hotel in good location!
Good neighborhood; Off major touristic areas; Nice staff; Decent room and amenities.
A Taste of "Real" Roma
This quaint hotel is located on the second floor of a brownstone right off of a little square. The building's old-fashion elevator was a highlight for my 8-year-old son. Luca, at the front desk, highlighted the local favourites. Porta Pia is a quintessential neighbourhood with lots of local trattorias, restaurants and homemade gelato. The #62 bus can be picked up 2 blocks away and takes you to all of the essential areas of the city while the nearest metro stop is a mere 7-minute walk. Hotel Porta Pia is a great way to experience "real" Roma.
Very best hotel
It is very nice and cozy hotel. The room was small and tidy. The staff are friendly and very smiley. And the elevator is really cool :)))
Good location for Metro
Took some finding - only a small plaque on the wall outside but once inside the staff were great . Room we had was small and glad we were only in it for 3 nights . Quiet , good aircon , no tea or coffee in room but reception staff could always make one for you . good selection of restaurants and bars nearby .
Nice hotel that located in an apartment.
Feels good. Like living in Italy. And one bus line can reach most of the sight seeing point. The staffs are very helpful and nice.
Ehh...
It took us 2 hours to find the hotel and parking. The hotel is not well labeled. In our room the wallpaper was peeling off. It was also a non smoking room but smelled like someone had just smoked in it. There was no parking and the parking we found was only good until 9pm. We ended up leaving and not staying the night.
Great stay at Hotel Porta Pia
Hotel staff were very welcoming & helpful - thanks for a lovely stay.
Best hotel in Rome
We had a five night stay booked at an expensive Via Veneto hotel but arrived a day earily. We booked this hotel and loved it. We wish we had stayed at Porta Pia instead. It is very clean, comfortable and in a perfect location. THe staff is friendly and helpful and the free breakfast sure beats the E15 breakfast each on via Veneto. From now on, this will be our hotel in Rome.
Nice find in Rome.
Upon my arrival, I thought uh oh! The hotel is on the 3rd floor of a "non hotel" building in the middle of a block with 3 steps to an old fashioned cage elevator. Don't let that fool you. Upon arrival on the hotel floor, the reception area was pleasant and inviting...the breakfast area neat and functional and the room VERY spacious and well appointed. The bath was a decent size and the room was more than acceptable with a separate sitting area facing the triple windows. The staff was extremely nice. On each trip to Rome I try to find a new hotel to share. This one was within walking distance from the train station and even better, a 3 stop bus ride on 2 lines to Piazza Barberini (at Via Veneto). Overall a clean nice little hotel with lovely staff. A definite recommend!
Accessible hotel in rome
We had an overall great experience just that we weren't allowed to make a lot of noise.
Too Far From City Center!!
We booked Porta Pia to spend time in the Villa Borghese, but ended up really wanting to be back closer to all the sites of Rome. This hotel was terribly inconvenient for that! We ended up spending more money on cab rides! Rooms were basic, yet clean! Hotel is situated in a weird neighborhood with nothing nearby. Staff was friendly, but overall I wouldn't recommend this unless you are for sure not planning on going to the city! 10 euro cab ride to termini. 50 euros to and from airport!
good located and clean
It was clean which is the most important thing. There are many buses to go the center of the city, you just need to ask to the people of the desk.
Ottima posizione, stanza comoda.
Segretaria gentilissima e efficiente, pulizia ottima e struttura bellissima .
Personale professionale e gentilissimo
Excellent service from the reception!!
Excellent service!! Will go again!
Nice place
The receptionist, Eliza, is ver helpful and King.
Personale cordiale, buona la posizione, ben servita dai mezzi e tranquilla. Bella esperienza. Ci ritorneremo.
Very friendly personel and really worth the money
We booked a double room with two seperate beds. When we came there we got just one bed. The personel gave us then a triple room because there was no other room available, a free upgrade! The location is great, not too busy and loud and close to the metrostation +- 1km. There are restaurants and supermarket, bank in a few meters of the hotel. Breakfast was really bad, bread lied there for hours including the cheese and it was really not much. Also the rooms are good for 3 stars but could need some renovation. But really for this money very good!
Hyggeligt hotel på 2. Sal i rart kvarter i ROM
Fin service i reception og hotellet ligger godt ift seværdigheder. Mange gode restauranter i nærheden.
Erg lekker eten tegen goed betaalbare prijzen.
Charme italien
Personnel multilingue, disponible, aimable et souriant. Chambre agréable avec une réelle touche italienne.
gut angebundenes Hotel in Innenstadtnähe
Great week at Porta Pia
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Porta Pia: the staff were the loveliest and the rooms tidy and cleaned up every day during my seven nights' holiday. I didn't eat breakfast at the hotel but the 5€ cost doesn't sound too bad. Altogether the hotel was very reasonably priced. Some comments suggested that there would be some noise coming from the other apartments but I wasn't disturbed by any. The neighborhood is charming and nicely a few minutes' bus ride away from the historic center. Full of cosy and great restaurants but only few tourists, and the most beautiful parks at walking distance. There's also a market open every day in the end of the street and several grocery stores around the block. Grazie mille for the week, I'll be back next time when in Rome!
The worst hotel I have exprienced
The washroom was terrible, not yet tidied up on the day i checked in. The soap had been used by someone else. It was so noisy in the morning, the staff sang very loudly and played music in the counter. The service of the staff was poor as well, especially the mid-aged guy who had so many excuse to refuse you request. The worst thing I have to complaint is my credit card was illegally used by a third party after making payment in this hotel. Their credit card machine was unreliable. I received a message that my credit card had paid an online transaction around one hour after I swiped the card to pay the room bill, actually I was on the way to another city at that monent.
