We had a fantastic stay, and really appreciate everything the staff did to make this such an enjoyable occasion. This is a very small (10 room) boutique hotel with a lot of history and character! It’s ideally placed for the Maritime Museum and crane but is still within 10 mins walk of the old town.
This is a boutique hotel. We had a beautifully decorated room with great view. Very good breakfast. If you want something different from one of the standard hotels, this is a good choice.
This hotel is a fantastic venue for exploring the city of Gdansk. It is a clean, well decorated hotel. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I would recommend this hotel and plan to stay again next year.
Staff exceptional, thoughtful, anticipating every need. Building location appearance and history makes an awesome impression, inside and out. The room its decor, layout, view, amenities left us with a sense of luxury unsurpassed. If ever returning it will be our first choice. Exceptional
It was one of the most charming and delightful stays our three week trip in Poland.
Hotel Podewils exceeded my expectations. I absolutely loved my stay there--everything about my stay was perfect; It was quiet, the staff were amazing and attentive, the breakfast was outstanding, and the room was kept cool (in summer) by a nice little ac unit. The beautiful old Manor House was tastefully and thoughtfully renovated for comfort and style. And with only 9 rooms, they really focus on each individual needs. I will definitely be back.
Great location and hotel, very old world charm. Staff very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Great little Hotel near to everything
Great location in the old town, it is quiet and near the river. Breakfast was excellent and so was the service. This is a great hotel to stay in for visiting, very near all amenities. I would highly recommend.
Hotel Staff is VERY nice and hotel is very well located. Yo recommend this hotel.
Lovely boutique hotel in urgent need to upgrade the plumbing ; faucet hard to turn on/ off, toilet flush frequently “stuck” with water running / dripping constantly . A coffee packets supplied were sealed the way, with the message “ do not open”…..
an outstanding property. boutique hotel, only 10 rooms, but superior quality. wonderful breakfast buffet and hot food options. building constructed around 1730, so historically it is wonderful. rooms are furnished with beautiful antiques. lobby is cozy and attractive. staff are pleasant and helpful. great location with river/canal views, and quiet. convenient walking to restaurants and historic sites. this hotel is a gem in all ways, and not to be missed.
Place with the history
Nice, climatic, quiet and cosy stay. Perfect location in the old town. Interesting place with the history.
The hotel is a charming, storied old lady, very much in need of rehabilitation. Stabilizing creaky boards, updating and painting would be a good start. Outside of the shabby condition, all was wonderful and we very much enjoyed our stay.
Quiet location short walk away from main town. Staff service was excellent. We asked if we could leave our cases at hotel as arriving early. They had our room feady early. Was also able to provide gluten free food at breakfast. Hotel is not modern in that you have a bathtub instead of a shower but accept that as booking it for it's charming decor. Best staff and service have encountered when traveling
Beautiful hotel in Gdansk
A beautiful hotel short walk to centre with fabulous view over the river.Highly recommend it
Little Gem in Gdansk
We stayed for one night as family in two rooms with our small dogs, the rooms are nicely decorated in a style fitting the hotel itself, rooms are comfortable and spacious.would recommend to book canal view rooms as they are light and quiet at night time. The cold breakfast selection is small but has everything you would need, with freshly cooked eggs (via preorder) which were tasty. The best thing is staff they are friendly and professional in their manner and made the brief stay very nice. We will definitely return on our next visit to Gdansk, the location is a short walk to the town centre which we found perfect for access by car or foot.
Sadly we were only there overnight as we got caught up in the mass evacuation before lockdown. The staff were fabulous, and really helpful in trying to sort things for us. It was spotlessly clean, and when the virus chaos is over, I would love to return!
Old world style, dated but delightful. A lovely change from corporate blandness
Beautiful, historic property, very close to old town, but in a quiet area. Beautiful views across the water to the iconic Gdansk Crane and the cathedral and town hall towers. Very large, airy rooms and marble bathrooms. Perfect place to stay if visiting Gdansk.
Great historic hotel with limited number of rooms and located off the beaten path. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The rooms have the design of a completely different era, retaining old furnitures and decor. If you like modern design, this hotel is probably not for you.
Lovely old hotel with character and excellent staff who were personable and professional. Robert at receptions was especially helpful during our stay.
Hotel is a beautiful historic property I. A great location. It is very refined. Breakfast was delicious and all staff were excellent! Very accommodating.
Historic building in a geat location, situated in a quit part of the old city. Excellent facilities and very friendly, helpful staff
Beautiful boutique hotel in an excellent location. Fantastic breakfast. We loved everything about the hotel!
The hotel exceeded our expectations. The service and value for money was excellent. It is like stepping back in time staying in a homely sophisticatied Boutique Hotel. It was a very relaxing place to stay. I would highly recommend it.
Location, lovely building, beds nice and comfortable.
Excellent hotel. Lovely rooms good location. Breakfast food and service excellent.
Gdansk Christmas
We loved this hotel. Friendly and helpful staff, magnificent room, perfect location, great value. Is you are considering this hotel just book it!
art historian review
The hotel is charming with much character, but the room was small and there was no elevator for older guests on higher floors. The location was excellent, close to good restaurants.
Loved our 4 night stay at Hotel Podewils.
We loved staying at Hotel Podewils. It is a lovely character hotel with wonderful service and a great location. Breakfast was more than ample with great variety.
Charming stay
We had a fantastic weekend here for my wife’s birthday. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The hotel is very charming and old fashioned and the breakfast was very varied and tasty.
Old World Elegance
A very nice old school elegant hotel close to all the Gdansk attractions. Fresh flowers in the room and at the breakfast table was a nice touch. Service was very formal but correct. An excellent breakfast though not included.
Superb Hotel
Really enjoyed our stay. Great staff, comfortable, clean rooms. great food. Highly recommended.
Perfect in every detail. Would have happily stayed longer.
very enjoyable
Elegant Old World Charm
Charming, elegant, friendly. I felt like a guest at Downton Abbey. Excellent breakfast - 5 Star dinner cooked to order. Impeccable service! Perfect location near the Old Town, but quiet!
Touch of Class
Great short stay. The room and service were everything we could have wanted. We weren't interested in swimming facilities, 300 channel satellite tv etc. What we were after was a classic, old style quality hotel with a touch of class. That is what we got in abundance. Near the old town with fantastic views over the marina. Breakfast was lovely and my very demanding brother-in law thought it was superb. Plenty of choice on the buffet as well as cooked options. The staff were warm and friendly and were always available to help with any questions. Its a small hotel but all the better for it. Highly recommended.
Classy old hotel
Lovely old classy hotel. Great service. Some cost cutting like only free water in room 1st day, no chocolates with evening turn down service! Overall lovely stay with lovely breakfast served. Book a river view to enjoy.
Fantastic hotel in great location
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. From the moment we stepped into the hotel we loved it. We had a lovely welcome. We stayed in room 102. A delux room with a river view. It was perfect. Extremely comfortable. We received complimentary liquer, chocolates and water. Lovely little touches. The hotel was extremely quiet all though there were other guests staying. The breakfasts were delicious. So much to choose from. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to relax in comfort. All staff were wonderful.
Great in Gdansk
Everything was perfect in this hotel. Gdansk is a great city.
Very cute hotel, well situated
We really enjoyed our stay here. It was extremely pretty and very well located for the Old Town, with a lovely view of the river. The staff were wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet had a good selection. The room was comfortable and quiet. The bed was too soft for us, but that's down to personal taste. Highly recommended!
lodging fit for a ship's capitain
A small, deluxe hotel, situated across the river (alongside marina dockage) from the center of Old Town, with the expected beautiful and panoramic view of the Stare Miasto. A five minute walk to the old entrance gate to cross the river, or a one minute ferry (when operating, limited hours). Excellent, English-fluent staff, considerate, helpful, and efficient. Fine breakfast buffet with extensive offerings, dining room serves as suberb choice for dinner (finest halibut I have ever enjoyed, delicious smoked goose breast appetizer). Charming and secure area. Two nights at this fine hotel, in this picturesque old port, not nearly enough. Treat yourself to a guided tour, as the history of the town and region rather complex. Do remember that weather can change rapidly-- expect similar to Netherlands.
excellent hotel in good location
this is a beautiful, well equipped hotel in a very good location. The hotel is beautifully decorated. The staff were excellent, very friendly and very efficient. The location is quiet with an excellent view of the Gdansk crane and marina. A 10 minute walk to town which meant away from the centre but close enough to make access easy. The room was very comfortable and spacious. There was a very good selection of food for breakfast which was very tasty and well presented.
Beautiful, quiet hotel on the edge of the Old Town
A lovely stay at this hotel - appreciated the welcome drink in the room, the excellent breakfast buffet, and very well appointed rooms. Even though our rooms were on the ground floor, there was no noise at all at night. Easy walk to the main sights. Would definitely stay here again!
Perfectly located old world top class small hotel,
Great staff who made our stay memorable, always helpful and keen to glean info for use with future clients, total professionals. Excellent rooms faultless breakfast
Best hotel we have stayed in. Polite and friendly staff. Excellent location. Beautifult views from the deluxe double room we booked.
An excellent hotel
Overall a very pleasant hotel, well positioned for easy access into the center of Gdansk. The staff were very friendly
Staff was very accommodating.
It felt like everyone was trying to make my stay as pleasant as possible. Very nice room, great bathroom. Nice breakfast selection in a lovely room. east walking distance to the main town.
Beautiful traditional hotel
We loved our stay in Gdansk at the Podewils. It is slightly out of the main historic district, and hence very quiet, although the main district is available with a 5 minute walk. The staff and ownership of the hotel and restaurant are very friendly and eager to help in all ways. The breakfast was excellent, with cooked eggs and bacon available in addition to a complete buffet. This is a classically styled hotel in an older building. If you are looking for classicism, character and romance, this will be your hotel. If you're looking for sleek, modern contemporary european design, probably not.
Wonderful wonderful hotel
Hotel Podewils is amazing. I'd stay here again in a heart beat. The old city center in Gdansk is beautiful and there is so much to see. The hotel has old world charm, is very elegant yet cozy and the staff are thoughtful and attentive. There are lots of little magical touches to this hotel and it is perfect for couples who want a romantic break. I'd highly recommend having dinner in their restaurant and drinks in their river side garden.
Great hotel, great location, not right in hub of everything but only 2min ferry trip or 5/10min walk to centre. Breakfast good and evening meal very nice.
Old World Charm
This is a delightful hotel with the friendliest people and lots of charm. But we did find the room a bit cramped and we did not like the shower. The room size would be fine if the hotel would remove some of the furniture, as nice as it is. We would just appreciate having had more space. The breakfast is terrific!
Amazing staff made the stay worthwhile
Not a 5 star hotel Pros Staff was excellent Breakfast View of river from room Ferry across river Cons Room was not cleaned daily No conditioner for hair No complementary water daily Over priced for the amenities
Historic hotel
Charming historic hotel. Great breakfast lovely staff. Rooms were dated. No elevator.
Well positioned , about 10 min walk to old town.
Lovely hotel, only 10 rooms so feels very private. Breakfast was lovely, cereals, breads jam, fruit etc.. Also you could have cooked eggs and bacon.
Historical Building with loads of character
The hotel is very nice, it is a converted building with a lot of history which you get information about. Unfortunately for us there was a lot of transfer of noise from the other nearby bedrooms.Staff were very attentive, breakfast is very good and plentiful with lots of options. Really irritating thing for a 5 star was no tea and coffee making facilities in the room which meant you had to ask for it to be sent to your room and quite a extortionate rate even for UK prices and it felt we were asking for something out of the ordinary. This would be so easy to fix as the mini bar is large and there is plenty room even in the smallest of their rooms. I would rally recommend a trip to Gdansk and a trip on the train 30 minutes to Sopot was a must
Best breakfast ever (large variaty of high quality meals), excellent location, very nice room and helpful staff. Exceptionally positive experience.
Beautiful hotel and staff.
We really love the charm and helpfulness of the staff. Our room was a bit small but that's to be expected in a beautiful old hotel. It is worth it, for the location and charm. Our dinner was very good and a nice breakfast as well. They offer parking at a reasonable rate and very convienant.
Great stay at this lovely hotel where the staff can't do enough to help!
Well priced, clean and traditional.
Very enjoyable.
Simply outstanding
An outstanding small and beautifully decorated hotel. I am planning to come back to Gdansk and will definitely consider it as a first choice.
Beautiful Gdansk
Delightful hotel, staff were charming & always helpful, loved our views from our room of river & old town, only disadvantage was a long walk to the bridge over to the beautifully restored old town. Our trip was purely leisure, not business as locked in above.
Absolutely superb!
What a wonderful hotel - great location, genuinely warm and friendly staff and superb breakfast. 10 mins walk (or 30 second ferry!) from the main restaurants and shops. My wife and I visited in April for a romantic break and will definately return and stay at the Podewils.
Historical building
From the minute we walked in through the ornate door we were met by courteous and extremely helpful staff memebers, nothing was too much trouble. The room was clean and well resourced. Although the surrounding area around the hotel, is undergoing rennovation (which is not the hotel's fault) and looks intimidating once inside we felt safe and secure. The breakfast was extremely hearty and inviting although our stomachs were too full to experience everything. Well done and great value for money.
Charming Hotel
Charming Hotel. Staff makes you feel welcomed. Not in the center of own, but close enough.
strongly recommend
Well located attractive hotel. Pleasant, attentive, very helpful staff. Lovely, comfortable room and bathroom. Good breakfast selection in a quaint room. Good value.
So glad we choose the Hotel Podewils!
The Hotel Podewils is a great place to stay, especially if you are looking for a change from the big corporate hotels. Clean, quiet quaint boutique hotel with old world charm and modern conveniences. My husband, son and I stayed for 7 nights, and we were very comfortable the entire week. Because the building is a historical site, there may be a few inconveniences here and there (lack of iron in the room, bathrooms with odd shapes/sizes). The staff is very accomodating and eager to assist guests. GREAT breakfast buffet! I highly recommend this hotel.
Podewils comfort
Very nice, beautiful hotel and polite and friendly service. 5 to 15 minute walk to the restaurants and shops but nice view and quiet location. Nice breakfast but no poached eggs. All in all, Podewils is a unique and high quality hotel.
A Little Bit of Luxury in Gdansk
The Hotel POdewils sits at the end of the marina in Gdansk in an area that is currently undergoing some rennovation. The hotel is small, only 10 rooms, but exclusive, having several photos of famous people who have stayed there on the wall in reception. It felt more like staying in someone's luxury villa than a hotel and the staff were so helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Rooms were exceptionally clean. The only disappointing aspect was the lack of a bathtub in the bathroom although a massage shower was provided. This, however, did soak the whole bathroom and so perhaps was not to be recommended. Dinner in the small restaurant was superb although the menu wassomewhat limited and breakfast the following morning was also very good with a wide range of both cold and hot foods - not quite a 'full English' but not far off! The waitress, a medical student from India, was delightful and introduced touches of luxury not seen for several years - decanting the red wine and warming it over a candle before pouring, for example. Overall, an excellent stay and I would definitely return.
Excellent breakfast in local style!
100% Perfect
This is really fantastic, every aspect is excellent. Building, Staff, Food etc etc. 100% perfect for all you can imagine.
Skønt ophold i stille omgivelser
Fint lille hotel i stille omgivelser.
Priorities
We asked in advance for an earlier check-in which normally is at 3 PM. Our room was not ready when we arrived at 2 PM, we waited to 2.45 PM before getting it and before that a couple arriving at 2.30 PM got their room instantly. Not a big deal, but the service wasn’t 5 star.
Merveilleux moments !
Sjarmerende hotell
Nydelig sted, og sjarmerende hotell. Flott servise av personalet. Frokosten var også delikat. Og ekstra hyggelig med velkomstdrink på rommet. Her kommer jeg gjerne igjen.
Prima.
Mukava hotelli
Mukava pieni hotelli.
Grzyb i łuszczący się sufit w łazience .Elewavja zewnętrzna wymaga remontu . Hotel nie zasługuje na 5 gwiazdek . Jedynie na 5 gwiazdek zasługuje obsługa .
Feel like home
Small, cozy place. Very friendly and service minded staff. Very good breakfast. You feel like coming home in the evening. Not exactly city center, 10 min walk to old town. On the other dude very quite and view to port.
Best place in Gdansk
Awesome experience as always
Super behagelig betjening
Perfekt til parweekend!
Fantastisk by, fantastisk hotel med en fantastisk beliggenhed.
Fantastic, old and charmy hotel. The staff was very kind and helpful and did all they could to make the stay as good as possible. Even the weatherforecast for the next day was delivered as a handwritten note on your pillow before night.

Very nice Hotel
Our room was very comfortable and the breakfast was very nice. All the staff were polite, friendly and helpful.
