Near Juso train station and close to necessary amenities.
Great location for osaka center and airport
Rooms are bigger compared to hotels in the same price range and can accommodate 3 or 4 guests with multiple beds or even bunk in rooms.
The cleaning crew used an air freshener that smelled strongly of curry. The pool was only available for people over 16.
Hotel was nice and well staffed with helpful people. Lots of food options and lots of close by stores for food and necessities. A little farther than we initially thought for train stations and the beds weren’t super comfortable. But given it’s our first time ever staying in Japan- I don’t know what my expectations were.
the room was too small and dose not have any window, the staff are so good but could not speak english at all and comunication was dificult, there was no tourist information in hotel
I enjoyed how clean it was and it was comfortable and quiet. I wish the gym and pool were free or cheaper. 1320 yen each
Excellent!
Great location near Juso station. Friendly staff and good price
It was an amazing hotel!
Nice enough hotel but food could use improvement
Big hotel with helpful, attentive staff. Seemed to play host to a lot of large one night groups, who would be noisy in the corridors and slamming lots of doors in the morning when leaving with luggage. The toilet in the room was the loudest I’ve ever heard - louder than an aeroplane toilet - and created this big vacuum noise when you flushed. You will definitely wake your partner if you use it in the night. The gym and pool etc was a nice facility to have. You have to pay about ¥1400 per person each time you want to use it, which seems a bit steep. It’s also a bit run down. The breakfast was only ok. There was quite a lot of variety across western and Asian options. But lot of the food was not kept hot, which means you waste food picking up a fried egg that turns out to be stone cold. It was sat under a warming light, but warm it, it did not. And the food was all exactly the same every day. You couldn’t get a banana or speciality coffee or anything like that. They also played the same one song ON A LOOP, every single day the whole week we were there. I would go insane if I worked at that buffet.
Quite a distance from the train station, and the rooms are inconceivably tiny. Buffet breakfast was good. Staff are very good and make the extra effort to help in any way possible
All in one hotel. Lots of services/facilities to offer, very near to Juso station and eating/restaurant areas, very nice and fancy accommodation, and most importantly, very friendly attentive staffs! Thank you so much for taking care of us for our whole stay.
Awesome property
The Hotel Plaza Osaka is a very convenient location for travellers wanting to easily explore Osaka, Kobe and Kyoto; I was plesantly surprized! I will definitely come back. One drawn back though: the room booked had a very noisy small refrigerator. Considering the size, the engine noise that this appliance made woke me up several times! Perhaps it's time to repair or replace this device please.
Place is excellent and staff is very kind. Recommend for staying
The staff was friendly and accommodating.
good value, clean, close to everything
Great service
I will returning
Room was spacious enough for four of us, most hotel staff were very nice
The hotel is HUGE! Several restaurants to choose from and it has a gym! Staff was super friendly too! I will definitely be back. :)
Good stay except found bathroom small .
Wonderful stay in Osaka
I had a splendid stay at the hotel and the staff were especially nice. I got in late and left early so I didn’t notice anything wrong with the room but it did feel a little small.
The room is clean and tidy. Recommended!
Very nice hotel location not so great.
Hotel Plaza Osaka, is a very nice hotel, with a very warm welcome on arrival. Check in was great. Hotel offers all kinds of services with different restaurants a shop on the ground floor... The location is not great for tourism, the area is a bit out of the way for the sites to visit. The area has pleanty of hotels by the hour around...
Hotel Plaza Osaka for vacation
Pleasant 5 day stay with unique check-in experience. Very detailed and friendly. The staff were courteous and hepful. Room was quite spacious and clean, especially liked the plasma air cleaner. Surrouding amenities to get food and stuff was more than sufficient, MOS burger, convenience stores, neighbourhood shops, even a Donki shop. However, although only 1 stop from Umeda main station, it may help if there are shuttle bus service provided.
Convenient for family
Only about 5min walk from the closest train station which is just one stop from Osaka/Umeda. There are many restaurants and bars in the area and you see lots of drunk people late at night especially on weekends. Many convenient stores nearby. Decent space with triple beds
Small rooms and beds.
Very small room with equipment they requires upgrades. Bed was too small for 2 persons. Big plus though is the (external) gym and pool that can be used for a fee; really enjoyed that.
Wasn’t impressed at all
Booked for a double bed when arriving was told they didn’t have one . Forced to stay in twin bed room during the stay.
Very good.Hope to be back next year.Staff very good.Very clean hotel.
Extremely helpful staff, clean and comfortable room. The only negative was the wifi. It was free but wasn't able to to load the simplest websites or pages.
the parking is too complicated.
Nice clean hotel, as with most Japanese hotels their beds are harder than other hotels. With that said I would stay here again.
Hotel room are clean. Very nice attitude from hotel staff. Will return to stay!!!
Nice But Far Away
Not near the cool places in Osaka, so you will need to catch a train or bus into town.
Near Joso Market
The hotel is in a convienent location. room is bigger than most hotel room in Osaka. But of course the room is bit older. but still good value for money. The reception service is a bit cold, i guess it is because English is not widely used here. But you got a cute smart robot assistant by the side of the reception. Room cleaning quite good, but not sure the carpet being vacuumed each day. As I found the cramps on the floor still there after 2 days.
Convenient location
Just five min short walk from train station. There are many stores (such as seven eleven, family mart..) between the hotel & train station
Staff at the reception and at the breakfast was very friendly and professional, very large choice of meals at the breakfast. Unfortunately the bathroom was not as expected was old with scratches on the tap and not very well cleaned. It is not acceptable. The bathroom needs urgently to be renovated.
Very nice hotel. Tiny bathroom. Great service from very friendly staff. Near train stations and shopping districts.
Nice hotel in a quiet area in a very busy town.
Good location, near to stations and shopping. Only hard to find smoking areas. Had to go down all the way to the bicycle park outside to have a smoke break. Best Regards Derek Chua
The Plaza was a relief to find!!
Loved our stay, staff is wonderful & very helpful!!
Fitness/Onsen was closed, air extraction was dirty there is a lot of love hotel around plaza
Big space room , and quite environment
nice stay at this hotel , room is big and clean, for sure i will be back to stay in this hotel
There is coin laundry in the basement. I find it very useful.
Hotel was close to Juso Station
It was a close walk to Juso subway station, however hotel was outdated and didn't have an airy ambience. It felt cluster because of the design.
Review of Plaza Osaka
Location in terms of accessibility is good. No complaints about the hotel. However, the surrounding is fairly "complicated" with the night lives and love hotels around.
Great place to stay - excellent service
Fantastic place to stay with excellent service. The only negative point was that some Chinese guests on the same non-smoking floor as me were all smoking and the hotel staff had to stop them. this is not the hotel's fault though.
Nice gym, but hassle to use. Nice room, location??
I only stayed one night, and chose this hotel because it provided a gym. It was a Gold's Gym, which required an extra fee. Once I paid the fee I was told that I could not use my own rubber-soled shoes, but needed to pay to rent some of the gym's shoes. This required an additional trip to my room insofar as no negotiation was possible on this matter. The gym had many other rules, and the man showing me around did not speak much English, but I got the point. The room itself was nice enough for my needs, despite not being very large. The hotel is located far from the airport, and requires 3 different train connections to get to the airport. Although the first station is a short walk from the hotel, getting clear instructions in English to use the trains from hotel staff or others is a challenge. I was lucky to run into another tourist who knew what to do.
Don't be fooled by the modernised facade, the rooms in this hotel are tired and of a low standard. The bathroom in our triple room was of moulded plastic with a huge step up, as if on a boat - an old one at that. The beds were hard and uncomfortable, even by Japanese standards. We were in town for sightseeing so managed to spend as little time as possible in the room itself. The area is full of 'love hotels'.
Osaka stay
3 star hotel in Osaka for one night stay to see Universal Studios. The hotel is bit of a walk from the train station and one must go through a bit of seedy areas (esp if you get lost like we did so stay on the main road!). We got a room with 3 beds which was tight but great for budget travelers (myself and my daughters). Clean room with only one issue of the electricity going out at 1 am but the night manager came right up and fixed the breaker (could of been bc of my cpap machine).
will stay here again
staff friendly...room also clean and comfortable..
Good mid-price Osaka hotel
Had to walk eight minutes to the local subway to cross the river to reach main railroad station. First room stank of cigarettes, so we immediately requested a change which they immediately granted, on a higher floor. Staff polite and helpful although some had minimal English. The breakfast buffet, both Japanese and Western, was the best we had of seven hotels in Japan on this trip, all others with higher ratings. Room is basic but good. No WiFi in the room. No English TV.
Decent
IMO, the room was decent. Clean enough to stay. Room size is small - perhaps suitable for average japanese body size. Wifi was good and working fine in my room.
it is decent hotel with great service and clean room. also it was close to subway station, which was good for travelers. It took about 20mins form hotel to osaka station. however, it took almost 1 hour to namba/umeda and 1 and half hours to kansai airport. the public transportation is pretty convenient in osaka but i think you better be aware of it
Old school glory
This was an older hotel. I think in the 70's it was quite grand. The staff has maintained it quite well and the service is nice.
nice clean hotel
Nice clean hotel.
This hotel is nice but the furnishings are old. Comfortable enough and the rooms are large. My room had been smoked in, often, but was clean. The bathroom is odd but functional. Overall it was OK.
Great value and experience
Great value for money
It was clean and quite, but bathroom was too small.
Wonderful hotel for travelling siblings
This was a very pleasant hotel with friendly bilingual staff - Some of the most friendly staff I have encountered! I felt very welcome before I even stepped foot in the hotel by the wonderful man at the doors - he wished us a good morning/day/evening each time we saw him and had a general air of welcome. The staff at reception were efficient and friendly. Even at their busy times (evening check-in's) they provided quality service. It was a real pleasure staying in this hotel.
Plaza Osaka Hotel
Had a pleasant stay just one stop from Osaka/umeda station. There is a street behind with food stalls and restaurant, and a supermarket very nearby. Quite convenient.
Wonderful hotel that I would stay again :)
This hotel is great, from the friendliness of the staff, to the cleanliness and large size of the room, and to the great location of the hotel, it is very close to Juso train station (and there is a wonderful cafe in the train station called Fred's Cafe)! They even fixed the wifi when I was having issues with it and they fixed it super fast with a smile! I loved my stay here and I will recommend it to anyone going to Osaka!
not the best
nothing outstanding for this type of medium size hotel. Boutique hotel, for same price, is better. none of the staff can speak english at the counter. the hotel seems to be more into groups especially Chinese groups. single room is very small
Last minute booking
I was in Osaka for Summer Sonic 2015. Beggars cant be choosers. It was as good as possible for that price.
Good hotel!
Stayed here for 2 nights and the hotel had every basic necessities. Downside is the hotel room walkways had a stale smell but the rooms were ok.
My Osaka Hotel Stay
No complaints about the room. It is well maintained. The staff are friendly and very accommodating.
Not like the pictures...
I picked this hotel because it looked nice in the photos, could fit a family of five and it had a great price for Osaka. When we got into the room, we realized that it was not like the photo online. The room was a smaller than we expected. The description of the hotel advertised "free wifi in room, pool" however we realized once we were there that wifi was only downstairs in the lobby and the pool cost 1000yen per person and it was only for people 16 and up. The website says without adult supervision but it's actually no children at all regardless of supervision. So disappointing, especially when we told our kids that we would get to swim and relax after a long day of exploring this awesome city. The room was also not very clean. It was just old and kind of grimy. You can tell the hotel is ready for some renovations. Next time I'm in Osaka, I will definitely be looking to stay elsewhere.
Not so happy!!,
So from the picture our room didn't look like it at all. When we enter the room it had a really nasty smell. When we try to exchange the room they were really rude and told us No. Also on the website it said there was a pool. That kids under 16 had be accompany with an adult. So we try to go they said no kids allow even if parents that was only 16 and up. Plus they had a fee to be able use the pool per person. We also didn't know there was a parking fee that we also had pay per day. So overall we weren't satisfied with this hotel.
Great Service
We arrived very late at the hotel and we were greeted by a very nice man on the reception who went out of his way to help us and give us train information for the following day. The room was surprisingly big for Japan and it was very clean and comfortable. I would stay again
It is very close to the Juso train station. Stayed here when in Osaka to go to Universal Studios. It was 2 quick train rides to get to Universal.
Even for the price think twice
All the amenities are old but all you need is there. The dusty feel of corridors and bed covers etc. is off putting, as well as the young and ill rained front desk personnel.
smelly room
Very dirty carpet & slippers. Room is smelly. Its very different from the photos from the hotel website. Nearby is red light zone, not suitable for single lady or family.
unhappy stay
Room's not very well maintained. Smells weird if air filter is not turned on. Hotel's condition is old, crowd are mainly from mainland. Neighbourhood are quiet at late evening. Walking distance to Juso subway. Polite doorman and patience concierge.
bad quality/price ratio
Small, humid, nasty and smelly room. Breakfast is not included and the breakfast hall is open just until 9:00.
not truly a 3.5 stars hotel
Room smells very bad. Very dirty carpet.Hotel slipper is not clean and its in mesh so can't wash. I can't take off my shoes even after bath. Hotel nearby is red light district. Not suitable for kids n ladies.
Great hotel.
Great hotel great price. Do not get discouraged by other reviews about the love hotels. Love hotels are common in Japan they are not bad. Located 5 mins from the train station. Has own gym and heated swimming pool. Staff was friendly. Not much immiedatly around but that's were the train station comes in hand! Learn to use it! 7-11 takes international debit cards only 1 min walk. Next station Umeda has outback steak house TGIF yummy:)
Great hotel!
Awesome hotel! Triple/quadruple room is spacious and comes with a kitchenette. There are convenience stores nearby.
Great stay
Overall great place. I would recommend to anyone.
Close to subway and all other shops.
They speak good English and answered a lot of questions on local traffic.
never a gainhotel
less said the best, swimming pool not included in price and no western tv or news in English location to rail station only good thing ,will never stay again no microwave
Trip to Osaka
Its good, but we can hear the sounds coming from the room above
Quiet and comfortable
With google maps/printed map the hotel was easy to find, two stops away from Umeda and a five minute walk from the station (Juso). The staff was friendly and efficient, we didn't hear from them except when needed. The room was not too small, (for a hotel room in a big city in Japan!) and felt clean. We weren't disturbed by other guests at all. The area felt quiet and we found some local resturants near the station. This was a really good one-night stay before our continued travel.
good.
First visit Osaka and good accomodation.
Arrived late left early
We were truly just looking for a bed between train rides. It was a little tricky finding our way to the hotel from the train station but we made it with a little help. We were very comfortable in our room and enjoyed the lights of the surrounding neighborhood. We would stay here again.
No pool, plenty of love hotels.
There was nothing "wrong" with the hotel. The staff were helpful and polite, and it's really close to the train station. I didn't like having to walk my children through all of those love hotels, but they didn't know what they were. It was still awkward for our family. There were only 2 complaints I had about the hotel itself; 1) the rooms were tiny 2) the pool advertises a pool, but the pool is NOT a part of the hotel. It's actually a part of Gold's Gym. Very misleading since that was an amenity I was looking for.
Great location, Good services, Good foods and Cleanliness room was provided. But surrounding neighborhood is not good as I expected under Japanese standard.
Nice Location
Quite close to the Juso station but the room was a little bit small, plus there were only two power plug seats, including one occupied by the water heater.
Ageing and Average
This was the 4th and last hotel our family stayed in during our road trip through western Honshu and Kansai. We had two adjacent rooms on the 5th floor. The rooms were a decent size, especially by Japanese standards, but the views were disappointing: other surrounding hotels, with a glimpse of the river between buildings. Inside, the hotel showed signs of being past its prime: dated furniture in the rooms and tacky white marble counters in the lobby. Also, the hotel was advertised as having a pool, but it turns out that it belongs to the Gold's Gym on the 2nd floor and you have to pay extra to use the pool and children under 16 cannot go in, even with an adult accompanying--our kids were disappointed. When I paid for parking, the concierge pulled out a battered metal cash box. Parking was a hassle: not included with the price and then difficult to negotiate with the attendant in the basement garage, as he wanted not only the hotel's parking receipt but some ticket thing. Even then, they grudgingly allowed us to use one of the larger spaces for our crossover SUV. Overall, the hotel gave the impression of a formerly nice hotel that is ageing and declining to be average.
oke
The room was small however everything else is good.
Inconvenient location, small & old rooms
Inconvenient for travel and shopping, as the hotel is in Juso which a couple of train stops away from central Osaka. The room was also incredibly small (even by Japan standards) and things were quite old.
good hotel~ I will stay next time
very convenience and clean. staff all have good maner~ nice hotel with good price:)
Only stayed 1 night---flight delays had us staying in Tokyo 1 night.Plaza would not let us rebook 1 night or give refund to circumstances out of our control.(I understand -----their call.)Otherwise hotel was in good location for us,near rail line(Juso)
All around good hotel value for anyone
I used to live in the neighborhood of the hotel and I have traveled to Japan many times and stayed at many comparable hotels. This is one of the best for the money. Staff are professional and pleasant, the room was clean and had all of the important amenities. It is a five minute walk from the train. Easy to get to the airport and to downtown Osaka. Safe, quiet, convenient, and reasonably priced.
Good hotel, reasonable location
The hotel is a little out of the way for sight-seeing in Osaka, so we only used it to sleep at night but it's clean and comfortable and is only a five-minute walk from the local train station, which is only one or two stops from the main Osaka station. The area near the hotel is a little bit salacious - not suitable for children but not unsavoury and safe enough (except for the Japanese on bicycles). There's a long covered street market near the station and a bargain discount store near the hotel: a great opportunity to check out Japanese shopping away from the city centre. There are lots of cheap eateries near the station but make sure you see what you're buying before you buy: few people speak English.
My experience
About a :20 min ride from Osaka Itami airport by cab. Cost ¥3800. I was told by hotel staff that the area is "somewhat " safe at night....... Quite far from attractions if you don't have a car. The hotel was very clean & the staff was very professional.
Super hard to find as there are no signs at all in English
Plaza Osaka - decent, but uninspiring
Plaza Osaka is a modern business style hotel; restaurants are not great and there is limited choice in the immediate neighbourhood but some places near Juso station. Trains from Juso to Osaka are fast and frequent, but not free to JR Pass holders, not are they included on an all day subway ticket. Out initial "non-smoking" room stank of smoke but we got an upgrade after complaint to a non-smoking suite. Given that similar complaints about the rooms have been levied in 2009, I would be very wary of being stuck in a smoky room in peak periods. Finally, gym; disappointing. Gold's gym to me sounded impressive, and certainly the 25m pool with 6 lanes was a good start and there is a good array of weights and cardio machines (but the usual Japanese problem of not being able to raise the bike seat high enough if you are more than 6ft tall). The real let down was the fact that it doesn't open until 9am, meaning no chance of getting a morning workout in before sightseeing/work. In addition, contrary to website info, the gym is not complementary to hotel guests, but actually around JPY1000/visit to hotel guests! I would look elsewhere.....
Plaza Hotel really great and convinient
I stayed for 4 nights and I'm really satisfied. I can really recommend staying there. The station is about 5 minutes from Umeda station with Hankyuu line. The room was really nice, and had everything i needed. Really good place, and nice staff.
Excellent value, convenient, relaxing
I have stayed at several similar Japanese business hotels and this was the best for the location, value, service, and convenience. You pay less here because it is not right downtown, but in a smaller neighborhood called Juso. It is a 5 minute walk to the Hankyu Railway and from there a 5 minute trip to downtown Osaka. Staff were polite and accommodating, the hotel was clean and modern. Some people could be put off by the neighborhood because it is the red light district of Osaka but there is considerable discretion used by the "love hotels" and if you are coming and going from the train station to the hotel, you won't be bothered by anything or anybody. Bear in mind that Japan is incredibly safe, so I walked around the whole neighborhood at 4am when I had jet lag, and couldn't have felt any safer. Wish I had stumbled on this hotel sooner - I have had much less savory experiences.

Such friendly staff at check-in.
