The property is beautiful and in the off season the price was reasonable. The breakfast is over the top, lots of choices. The coffee was the only breakfast issue and the staff needs to be trained in this area, it was often cold or prepared improperly. The beach is wonderful but the area behind the lounges needs to be cleaned, it looked terrible. The construction on the port side was super loud and created industrial smell that was unpleasant. Because of that the pool on the construction side was not usable. I believe all these issues will be resolved once the construction is completed and we enjoyed our stay regardless.

Spectacular hotel,great rooms and superb views.

The property it self was beautiful, however this was the least favourite hotel from the 6 places I stayed. The staff were rude and unhelpful compared to other accommodation in Vietnam which were just amazing. The “chairman and his daughter are disgusting.” There is a private beach right next to the hotel and the daughter wanted 1,000,000.00 vnd to use the chair. However it is stated that this is included in the stay. This is the biggest pocket skimming I have ever seen. Accor group really should do something about the people that run this beautiful hotel. Unfortunately they know there is not much competition on cat ba island so they really don’t care.

Gorgeous hotel in a great setting. Beautifully designed rooms and common spaces. Great value in terms of comfort. Stunning views from all the rooms. Lots of options for lounging outdoors or in the room, and a nice quiet beach right next to the hotel. We loved the furnishings, tile, and art.

Cute boutique hotel!

We recently stayed at this hotel with our two young kids (3 and 1 years old), and despite the challenges of traveling with little ones, this place was fantastic. The hotel was incredibly clean and had a charming, cute atmosphere. The staff were also amazing—very friendly and helpful, with most of them speaking English, which made everything so much easier. The beach was a bit disappointing as it was quite dirty, but the swimming pools more than made up for it—they were awesome! The views from the hotel were stunning, and we really enjoyed the food. The breakfast buffet was especially great, with plenty of delicious options to start the day. One thing that was a bit concerning was the hotel-arranged driver to take us back to Hanoi airport. Unfortunately, the experience was awful. The driver didn’t speak any English, and we were genuinely scared as he kept falling asleep at the wheel. It was a very unnerving experience, and I would expect the hotel to organise a more professional driver, at the very least one with a basic level of English. Overall, though, we had a great stay, and the hotel was lovely but I’d suggest organizing transport independently next time.

The property is in a beautiful location with its own beach. Has many swimming pools and bars. Food was first class. Staff were friendly. Also has a gym and games room.

Beautiful hotel location

Luxurious hotel on South end of cat ba. Nice rooms, fantastic view. Breakfast spread was amazing and full of variety. Pools were really nice. Incredible for sunset views. 10 minute walk to main town

The most amazing hotel .. the staff are the best I’ve experienced the rooms are magnificent the facilities outstanding … the kitchens are world class .. do not hesitate to stay here ..wonderful 10/10

The food at Akoya is much better than that of Indochine (with the exception of breakfast). The pool is excellent, and the resort is clean and well managed. The neighboring beach is not (as it is public). The music is loud, there is constantly a large number of people there, and the beach itself is dirty. Besides that, it was a great stay.

A beautiful hotel with excellent service. Rooms were a good size with comfortable beds. Buffet breakfast was amazing. Easy to get into town using the electric taxi.

Location

The bar staff are not very good with English and the alcohol in the cocktails is non-existent. Either they water it down or just don’t put any in. Long Island iced tea tasted like watered down coke with ice. Rum and coke tasted just like coke.

We loved this hotel. It's beautiful to look and at the rooms, overlooking the beach are picturesque. The pools are lovely and it is right next to the beach. It's easy to get into town using the electric buses and we were able to book transport to the airport with their staff, who were always friendly. The restaurant is quite mediocre though. You're better off going into town and getting good there. The cold jacuzzi was also weird and the spa facilities weren't available for a while (about 45 minutes) even though it was passed 3pm and they were supposed to be open.

Jacuzzi does not actually heat up and the breakfast gave me food poisoning. Everything else was great. Breakfast was incredible aside from food poisoning. Maybe worth it.

The property is absolutely beautiful with easy access the Cat Ba Beach 3. The staff was extremely professional and accommodating and made our stay very relaxing.

This is a gorgeous hotel and perfect for peace and quiet and relaxation. The food in the restaurant is a bit hit or miss but there are other good options not too far away. The views from the bedrooms are unparalleled.

Beautiful pools. Great amenities. Helpful and friendly staff!

We booked this Hotel to rest a couple days from 4 week road-trip traveling Vietnam. Looking for a luxury and peaceful place we realized there are not a lot options on Cat Ba Island. When we arrived, the hotel’s lobby immediately caught us with its colonial french design. High quality interiors from the lobby to the rooms to the roof-top. Amazing breakfast buffet with soup and egg station, warm and cold station, fruit and desert, crepe station - what ever you can think of, you‘ll get it. Same applies for lunch and dinner - fresh seefood, western cuisine and asian specialties. When you are a wine lover, the wine menu definitely beats everthing what we have seen during our 4 week road trip. Staff is always attentive, helpful and you always get a smile. The beach was cleaned daily from debris that occasionally found its way to the bay. All in all we found what we were looking for - a luxury hide-away. We stayed during off-season, so things will get busier during high-season but I am sure they will handle this as well. Cheers to the management and staff. We will keep the sundowners at the pool bar right on the shore in mind.

The hotel is beautiful . Rooms , bathrooms , lobby , outside and inside . Facilities are very good , gym , pools , bars and outdoor areas very well done . Staff very helpful and try hard . Reception staff exceptionally good with good language skills . Breakfast buffet is very good , evening meals were probably the weakest element of this otherwise brilliant hotel . Dinners weren’t bad , quite decent on the whole but not up to the standard of everything else .

Tolles Hotel, grandiose Aussicht

Das Hotel ist sehr luxuriös. Alle sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend! Wir haben den Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Alles sehr sauber und perfekt. Die Aussicht ist grandios. Das Frühstück war auch sehr gut und umfangreich! Wirklich lecker! Es lohnt sich!

Great memory

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. Its location is 22km far from the Cai Vieng port. I drove my car all the way from Hanoi and it took me about 3 hours until I got the hotel. Hotel was decorated with lots of Christmas ornaments we enjoyed it. The view from the balcony was incredibly awesome that cameras cant capture everything. Especially, this area is so quite so I really enjoyed listening the sound of waves breaking on the beach while sleeping. Swimming pool was also awesome, a little bit cold in this season though. Moreover, the staffs were really kind and willing to help me anything. Overall, everything was perfect for me and me and my gf had one of the best weekend. Many thanks to Mgallery.
