Nice small hotel in great neighborhood
Recent stay
Staff were helpful and friendly, would stay here again. Only thing i would say is that it was a bit outdated and needs some attention - the curtains didn't fit the entire window so was woken up by the daylight even if we wanted a lie in but other than that we couldn't fault it! Perfect for a budget weekend. Thanks guys :)
Location was excellent as there is a tram stop at the front door which goes straight into central Station. with all the stops along the way having access to main points of interest and shopping.
Quaint property with tram outside your door. We did have to carry our luggage up about 8 steps to reception. The only lift is very small, 2 people and 2 suitcases maximum. But otherwise the room was not a bad size for 2 people and luggage. Bed comfortable.
Staff was very friendly, the place was exactly what I needed in a nice safe neighborhood. Highly recommend staying here and would stay here again when I come back.
Great Location and Service. Thanks !
Nice neighbourhood. However, we left bags for a few hours and someone went through them! So, not very secure unfortunately. I do not recommend just based on that experience. Who knows how safe the place is.
The hotel is perfect for a city break, location is excellent and although the rooms are small they are well equipped and clean and tidy
The hotel had an great location for everything
This is a pleasant hotel for a budget traveller. I would have liked to have a bar fridge and and ironing board with iron as well. Otherwise I really appreciated the bath which I used every day. So few hotels have baths nowadays. The Tram is right outside the door. There are also three very interesting museums very close to the hotel if you are interested in the Holocaust and WW2.
Would recommend for anyone staying solo in Amsterdam.
Good 👌
Ideal for a few nights while exploring Amsterdam. Make sure you arrive at the right one though as theres a very similar named hotel just round the corner
Great little hotel in excellent location
Great small hotel in traditional building in the heart of Amsterdam. Very convenient with tram stop outside and nice small bars and cafes nearby. Very nice room. Staff ALL excellent and most helpful
The lady who checked me in was amazing she recommended me places and made my trip very easier with her directions she even told me a place for breakfast
The room looked nothing like the pictures. Shower/tub was not easy to shower in. Staff was nice and check in was easy. Would not stay again
Very dated and my view was into courtyard filled with discarded chairs and furniture, also this hotel charged my account in the triplet and hoping they reverse some of the charges.
I really enjoyed my stay here, the room was clean, the toilets were spotless. The area around the hotel was quiet and felt safe, and it was easy to access the city and return throughout the day. All of the staff were superb. My only return to you is the lift up and down felt unsafe and needs some attention. Thank you very much.
Good hotel!
The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had what we needed. It’s a very small room, but typical to the European experience. There’s an elevator which was nice, I would not want to carry my suitcase up the steep winding staircase. The staff was friendly and helpful, I felt secure and it was close to the zoo which was one place we enjoyed visiting. I loved the nearby shopping, site seeing and general atmosphere of the area around the hotel. Would book again!
The issue we had was that the matress was soft and broken on one side. The other issue were the pillows. They were old and even stained.
Good
Clean rooms, good service, very nice area. A bit tired room.
Overall was good, very quiet hotel, very close to everything
Fairly basic but clean and accessible. Nice restaurant and bar opposite and in a quiet area with tram stop opposite
Nice small room equipped with everything
Staff is rude there's only 1 good receptionist False ad they said on expedia they have laundry but no there is no laundry This hotel is a scam
Great stay in a historical building. Centrally located but not too much in the mix of the tourists. All the main attractions are within a 30 minute walk and quick access to the train. Rooms were clean and cozy.
I was very pleased that the staff was able to give me entrance to my room before the check-in time. It was a clean and functional room, which is exactly what I was seeking.
I only stayed here for one night, in fact for less than 10 hours, but it was a delightful stay nonetheless. We were located only a minute's walk (or less) from the nearest metro/tram stop, which led us directly to the city center. It was easy to navigate and in a great location.
Decent Stay for the Value
Ok place, definitely a little old and thin walls so you can hear some noises above and below. Private bathroom was extremely small so if you’re a big person, definitely consider that. Overall, decent stay for the value since we basically only spent time sleeping there and to recharge before we went back out to hit the town.
Built for short people, ironic seeing as the dutch are generally very tall. Very small reception hard to access with stairs. Lift miniscule. Room sloped with random low beams
Nope
Bed was worn and very soft gave ma a sore back. There was a beam running the length of the room which we had to duck to avoid. Tiny bath room. Sloping roof making it difficult for a tall person like myself
The property itself was beautiful and well located for a quieter but still accessible stay in Amsterdam. The woman who checked us in was very nice and friendly. Our main issue was that while we were staying another guest let themselves into our room, while we were in it, with their key card. It fully unlocked the door and allowed them in. When we went down to reception to report this and ask for a solution it felt like they were accusing us of being confused, or that it was just housekeeping, we had the dnd sign up so that also shouldn’t have happened if it were the case. I wish it had been answered better and given some sort of solution but we ended up just putting a chair under the door for the night before we left.
No frills small hotel in a nice neighborhood. Elevator makes access to floors easy.
maybe don’t stay here not clean and bad smell throughout hotel
It is a small hotel nice clean
Great gem
I liked the beds. I didn't like the shower. It was coming from the middle wall instead of the end wall & very squishy. I didn't like that the TV didn't work & we weren't refunded. There was air conditioning but it hardly worked. The room was still very hot.
Excellent location
Handy to everything
Good location close to transport
Handy to everything
Very clean, staff was great and it was a good value!
Our room was very nice a big. We had a huge window. The reception area is tiny but don’t let that deceive you, it is a very nice hotel.
Hotel was in a good location for breakfast, bar and tram stop. Tram was direct to Amsterdam Central. Bed was comfortable but room was small and bathroom was smaller. Based on price, good value.
The room was small. The street was noisy.
Very old and small room
The room and the toilet are very small. Carpet is old.
Amsterdam Get Away
The hotel was right at a tram stop. We enjoyed this as we had a 72hour pass. There was a good breakfast spot nearby. The room was all we needed. We were able to leave our luggage after checking out until we could leave for our river cruise.
Curtains and street-facing walls had mold, many of the bathroom fittings were loose.
Wish there was parking offered as we have a car but understand the lack of cars, and parking. Close walking distance but being fit to walk a must. 30 minutes to most attractions.
Simple, quiet, fairly convenient location. I liked that it has a bath tub, a desk, and a skylight that can be covered at night.
Great location, friendly staff, good room.
The ladies at the desk where a big help
Was convenient and comfortable enough. Did not realize how expensive parking is in Amsterdam City Center, so we will plan to stay outside of the City Center next time to avoid the parking cost. The cost of parking was almost as much as one night's hotel stay. They charge 7 euros per hour 24/7, so a 24 hour period would cost 168 euros.
Comfortable bed, Good location, hot shower, slightly small bathroom
The locatiom for transportion . Tram 14 stops in front the hotel door. Reception very helpful Nikolay and i didnt the other guys name . Room clean and just right.
Good place but the rooms is very very small
the location was excellent as it was right across from the tram stop. Plenty of eateries in the area and it felt good walking around .
The room was quiet and, despite being in an attic, sufficiently spacious. The hotel is very conveniently located, just a few steps across from Artis tram station (line 14, Flavopark terminus). In fact, it was so close to the tram station, that I could still use the hotel's wifi while waiting for the tram. Overall, and given how expensive accommodation is in (central) Amsterdam, this was very good value.
Good
Only drawback is that the room is very small, but a good value for the money.
We chose this hotel for the valet parking knowing that driving and parking in Amsterdam is not easy. When we arrived there was no driveway/parking spot to pull into and when we did get inside we were informed that they do not and never have had valet parking for this hotel. Parking was easily 4 blocks away in a parking garage. Although it was not far I was disappointed that Travelocity did not correct this on there site. So parking is not available on site.
It’s not a convenient hotel if you will stay for many days. The rooms are quite small and not clean enough. It’s a cheaper option if you only need a place for sleep and rest by night.
We had a lovely one night stay at Hotel Park Plantage. The nondescript facade of the hotel and the cramped and shabby reception area were not the best and frankly, had us a bit concerned at first viewing but the jewel in the crown of this hotel was our sweet, attic room with high, slanted (watch your head) ceiling and two enchanting dormer windows with a view, the bathroom — complete with deep soaker tub, the comfortable bed, pristine bed linens and the surrounding neighbourhood. The AC was effective but noisy. We stayed in Room 42, which I believe was the smallest room on the floor. It was adequate space for two adults for one-night. Friendly daytime reception staff. Easily accessible by transit via the #14 tram from the airport/train station. Overall — a lovely stay.
We stayed for five nights and had a three person room. The rooms are small, so with three twin beds, it was definitely cramped. Luckily, we spent our time in Amsterdam exploring the city rather than hanging out in the room. The room was kept clean with daily housekeeping to tidy up and provide fresh towels. Oddly enough, the shower curtain in the bathroom only had four shower curtain rings to hold it up, so that was a bit of a challenge. Since we were there in August, the a/c was a great feature. It was a bit loud and chugged along like a small locomotive, but it held up and worked fine. The front desk personnel were always very helpful in answering questions. I liked that someone is there 24/7. The #14 tram stop is just steps away from the hotel, so we really loved the convenience!
A great place to stay
Great staff , great location . One young lady met me stay later as I was in a mate flight . Cannot fault the place
Friendly staff. Wifi doesn't work in room at all.
Was an ideal location, very close to a tram stop but far away from the centre meaning it be a bit more quiet. Front desk were lovely and understanding, nice place overall!
Cecilia was extremely helpful and very polite
This property was well located in a very attractive area near the zoo and a park on with the tram stop at the door. The staff were warm and friendly and the accommodation was comfortable although the room we had was rather small in size.
Customer service is terrible.
Good location, slightly out of centre so quieter but tram stop outside straight into town
GREAT LOCATION
Wrong room and very very cold.
Given wrong room. Charged for superior double room and was given a cheaper colder standard double room which cost a lot less. Avoid. Much better hotels in centre than this one.
We didn’t have a very good first impression with the first person at the reception. The other receptionist were friendly. The room was very small with very low ceilings, we were literally in the attic of the building. Location is very good. Walking distance from the main areas
Nice
Good basic hotel.
Defo recommend will definitely be back for another stay! Thanks for a lovely Xmas 🙃
Very rude
I’m a solo traveler and the one bed top floor room was perfect for me. The property is older, but it was clean and in a terrific neighborhood. The staff was super friendly. Definitely basic accommodations, but exactly what I was looking for. Plenty of dining options on the block. 15 minute walk to central Amsterdam and the trolley goes right out front. I will definitely stay here again next time.
Very dowdy old place. Good location.
Great stay! Was worried about night 1 as work men next door decided to start drilling at 7am however never did it again 😅
Great
Room was good, tram right in front was perfect. We were told we could park a car but on the street $6 Euro per hour, or have a private service park it for $45 for 24 hours.
Great spot.
Great place, nice location close to the city but far enough to escape the crowds. I'd definitely stay there again.
There was a bad smell in the basement where we we stayed. We asked to change room anout 5 times and the staff just ignored the situation
The property needs updating. The staff were very friendly but the bathroom was not clean and had a mouldy shower curtain. The bed also had stains on the outside and the walls could do with a paint. The property was close to Amsterdam central. I wasn’t happy with the fact that behind a door in our room the next room along could see into my room so I had to keep the curtain closed at all times. It was a very strange setup. The neighbours smoked weed the entire time despite it being a non smoking hotel and the smell drifted in our room. I did complain about this. The lift also smelt. I wouldn’t rate the property as 3 star but the benefits were friendly staff and close to the centre.
Unsafe and unhygienic toxic black mold all over the room and bathroom walls. Mildew rotten stench. Broken window. Very dirty. Fruit flies buzzing over the bed. Room was right across from dirty laundry room. Tiny and cramped. Shocked at the conditions. Incompetent front desk staff. Save yourself - Spend a few bucks more and for a comparable price you’ll be able to find an infinitely better hotel! Had to make an emergency last minute booking at another hotel because this place was uninhabitable - was able to find something clean and surprisingly upscale in city centre for same price.
Ok for short break but it’s too small, overpriced for what you pay for, marks all over the walls it would only need freshening up with some paint etc, stained bedsheets and seriously need to spray lift and stairway as they smell so bad, pretty sure there are hostels better than this place.
Basic but did the job. 24 hour reception. Short walk to the city centre. Comfortable beds.
The location of this property is perfect - you can just walk out and straight onto the number 14 tram to take you to the center. Room had everything we needed and options for you to borrow from the desk - this was handy as we forgot to bring a plug. Only downside was that there was mould all down the side of the window, although you could tell this window was a lot older than the other one we had in our room.
Noisy -- You can hear every person coming and going out of the other rooms
For a budget hotel it was in a great location close a 10 min walk to the centre, 20 mins to station. Has everything you need for a few days. It was basic but clean.
It has a good location. It is an average hotel good for one or two nights.
We refused to stay at this hotel once we’d arrived and seen how disgusting it was. Expedia ruined our holiday then booked us in another hotel late at night at our expense. DO NOT STSY HERE IT IS NOT 3 STAR ITS BARLEY 1 STAR
Good location and friendly staff. City centre 10mins away and can jump on the tram.
Good location for us, great restaurants around and this hotel. Rooms have poor lighting at night.
The hotel is in an excellent location. The tram is just outside and gets you into Dam square in about 10 mins. The same tram also take you to central station. The staff were friendly and welcoming and allowed us to check in earlier in the day we arrived which was very helpful to us. Our room was a decent size for 2 people and very clean. The mattresses were also really comfortable. The only negative thing was that the shower hook was broken so we had to hold the shower head each time to shower or if you can try and balance it to somehow which is what I done but not easy. We couldn't be bothered to make a fuss as we only there a few days but if your there longer and you get that same room with the broken hook u may want to get it sorted. But overall I recommend staying here for the cleanliness, staff politeness and location.
It was nice super clean and spacious! Friendly service. Close enough to the red light district. At night is peaceful and quite. Great location.
Nice staff. Room was exactly as expected and location was perfect for exploring Central Amsterdam.
