The hotel is in a safe area within walking distance to some points of interest. The hotel itself needs some updates. The carpet on the hallways hasn't been changed since the 80s, probably. There were several mattresses on the hallway for the whole 6 days we were there. Very weird. The room had some updates but the bathroom looked old and needed at least some paint. Tiny "bottle" of shampoo and one small soap. No amenities in the room. No coffee maker (not even in the lobby). Never been in a hotel room without a coffee maker . Anyway, the hotel needs some work.

The hotel was very clean, and staff were all very helpful and friendly. Despite the negative reviews, the hotel was actually very quiet compared to many othet hotels that I've stayed in. The continental breakfast was amazing!! One of the best! So much selection, and staff there were all so kind. Their restaurant, Q'4RT is amazing! We ate there a lot because other restaurants didn't compare. They made the best tiramisu and pizza! We really enjoyed our stay and the staff there's amazing!

There was a lot of evidence of cleaning throughout the day in the public areas and the room was made up to a high standard everyday … the cleaning staff and dining staff were friendly and efficient .. reception staff could be friendlier if I’m honest … the breakfast was adequate but not exceptional and was the same everyday … the beds weren’t the most comfortable and as a double were just two singles pushed together (and they moved!!) the pillows were rock hard! The decor was firmly rooted in the 1980s and our room needed a lick of paint and a more modern (flat!!) bathroom as it had 2 steps into the main room.The hotel is in a busy area and while the traffic noise was bearable (and understandable) loudly emptying the bins and loud deliveries at 6/7 am every day we were there definitely disturbed us as did fellow guests leaving at 4am (not the hotels fault obviously!!) so I can’t say we slept that well … I’d call the stay satisfactory overall as it was minor niggles a lot of it probably beyond the hotels control.

Poor hotel, good location

The hotel has a good location about 15 min walk from the Spanish steps area. Otherwise it isn't deserving the 4 starts ranking it has. Maybe it was appropriate 40 years ago, but the physical condition of the property is very poor. They even didn't have shampoo in the rooms and when we asked for they said they don't have any.

Not all all how it was described, photos are decieving

We've visited Rome on numerous occasions and always stay at the Oxford. It is in a quiet neighborhood. The area is safe as there are several embassies there. Walking distance to public transportation and taxis arrive within five minutes of a call.

When in Rome we always stay at the Hotel Oxford. Nice place, located in the quiet Embassy area. Safe because of the Italian guards for those Embassies. Near bus transportation and a taxi is four minutes away after a call. Friendly desk and great breakfast and dinner options. Near our favorite lowkey restaurants.

The hotel was very clean and our room was clean, towels changed daily. Comfortable beds and continental breakfast was enough choice for everyone. The reception staff were very helpful The hotel is quite central to the main attractions 20 mins walk to Spanish steps and Trevi fountain and 10 mins walk to Villa Borghese, Coloseum best take a bus or coach a bit too far to walk in the heat Overall our stay at the Hotel Oxford was very good

Terrible!! Terrible! Terrible!! Grossly dirty!! Is call 4 stars, I give them one because they’re close to a metro station, besides that awful!! The bathroom was so dirty that I can’t described it, I ask for an iron and they said i have to go dawn to the first floor and look for it by my self, because there was only one person working at the hotel at that time!! Whattt???

Hotel was very clean but does need some updating interior wise but well worth the money and staff were very nice

Disappointed

This was a our 2nd time staying at the hotel in 2 years. I found the men working the front desk to be helpful, but the women we’re miserable. Unfortunately the will not stay there again.

You cannot beat the Hotel Oxford for a stay in Rome. The price/quality ratio is excellent: cleanliness is outstanding, the personnel is super-friendly and helpful, breakfast is copious and very good. In addition, the location is perfect: the neighbourhood is one of the nicest in Rome, within a 1-km radius to all main attractions except the Colosseum (which is a bit further), so that we walked everywhere. There is also a small supermarket (Pam) next door to the hotel, which was very convenient since we were travelling with children. And for high-end shopping, around the corner there is a new La Rinascente department store. I will recommend this hotel to everyone.

Hotel located in quiet area of the city. The hotel decoration is tired and miss matched.

This property has a great location walking distance to everything. The hotel restaurant is AMAZING and the service is phenomenal. The showers are tiny and the stairs are steep and narrow, but everything else is top notch!

Great service, from the cleaners to the reception to the bar very friendly staff, great rooms perfect location. Will be back at the hotel oxford when I return to Rome

Nice facility. Good breakfast. Strange bath room with 4 steps to tub. Shower enclosure only half length of tub so water sprays every where

Only one name LUCAS LUCAS LUCAS what a friendly service , this guy is five *****stars hospitality executive , I was telling my family that he remind me a movie where the owner of the hotel was living in interior of the hotel and the employees never realized it , we told him and he laughed wit us. This guys have the power of making sure you feels special accommodated and with every detail you need at your service, he treated my elderly mother like his own mother making sure she don't miss an stair steps to the door taxi, packed breakfast for us. Hotel Oxford in Rome , this is my third time staying in this hotel, the first time I found the typical roman classic hotel with the beautiful antique chandeliers antique beds and classic decoration. I can't believe the owners of this hotel allow to change or "update" the rooms from classic European small beautiful rooms to " cheap modern looking uncomfortable crazy looking" semi-modern looking room. First the new modern lamps in the lobby entrance do not go with the style of this hotel , who was the interior designer of this hotel? I will do a better job for the hotel been a Banker and not an interior designer. I am glad to see the expansion of the main restaurant and yes please keep it that way classic and roman looking also the piano was an excellent addition. Oxford hotel is very close to Via Veneto and 30 minutes walking distance to the center. The U.S embassy 2-3 blocks from this hotel, nice restaurants and places to eat.

The receptionist Antonio was so professional and great he help us with everything we need on our stay.

Decent 3 stars

Birthday trip away to Rome. Hotel is situated quite well, it’s a two minute walk to the American embassy and down to Spanish steps is another 10 minutes. Hotel itself is fine, however during the night when you try to sleep various deliveries are made to the nearby shops/restaurants and other places making it a very sleepless night. If you’re looking for a quite room 120 is definitely not the one for you. Can’t fault the cleanliness of the place. And the check in staff member luca was very helpful. To be fair we only used the room to sleep and plan our next day so can’t really comment on much else of the hotel.

Room great, food poor.

The hotel was nice, clean and modern. Good location from the train station and popular tourist attractions. I wouldn't recommend eating at the hotel restaurant..between the 2 of us, we had 4 different dishes over 2nights and none were nice. Unfortunately it was tasteless plain food, however there are lots of eating places nearby. Overall, very happy with our stay, the staff were friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful staff and close to all main attractions! There is no parking so be prepared to either hunt for a space or pay 35 euros a night to park. Overall It was fantastic and the restaurant had excellent food. We were up early every morning and they prepared coffee for us even though the restaurant was closed! Highly recommend this property!

First visit to Rome

Great location. Very central. Very safe. We could walk most places at all times of the dat and night. The staff were very helpful and accomodated all requests.

Close to city centre and Borghese gardens

Very nice all round hotel, with a spacious room for 4, convenient restaurant, superbe breakfast, and the staff very EXTREMELY helpful.

Good location, hotel could do with a freshen up but not too bad, walls are paper thin and can hear people going to the toilet in the next room 😂

Good hotel in a convenient location

Walking distance to many of the main attractions. Hotel Restaurant food and service was amazing. They also do the best gluten free pizza I've ever tasted. We had a non refurbished room which was tired. Room was kept very clean throughout our 4 night stay. Only negatives are no tea making facilities in the room and when we asked for a kettle we were given three broken ones in quick succession. Would recommend this hotel to others.

No frills but decent

We were looking for enough space for 4, and this hotel provided that, but only just, with two twin beds and a pullout sofa bed. The furniture was old, and not very comfortable. The bathroom only had a sliding door that didn’t lock - an inconvenience with two kids in the room. On the plus side - for Rome, the room is actually a very good size. There was a restaurant downstairs where we had some meals. Location is walking distance to some main attractions (if you don’t mind a bit of a walk). Overall, this hotel stay was not bad and worked for us but if you are looking for glamour go somewhere else.

It was my first experience of the Italian capital and the hotel Oxford help it to be positive especially the staff. Would definitely stay there again

Good value and location

Generally comfortable accommodation c. 15 mins walk from Termini station and Spanish Steps. Only snag was that room was as far as you could get from reception via tiny elevator that only reaches 2/3 floors or very steep/narrow stairs. The people/city make up for this but the hotel would not be a good choice for anyone with mobility issues or with a large body. Breakfast good as was bar restaurant food too. Well priced too.
