Just want to thank Mr Vladimir Odeluv for all his help since day one when we met. He was very professional, polite. He even suggested a restaurant to eat dinner and made arrangements to have a taxi pickups up to take us to the airport. I will defenatelly stay at your hotel next time I visit rome
Good value, good location
This hotel is a good price and is well-located very near a metro station and a not-too-far walk from the Termini train station. The breakfast was good and the room was an adequate size. The staffers were always helpful even when we had strange requests about booking taxis and getting food. Vladimir especially was so helpful, he made reservations at fantastic restaurants. Thanks for a nice stay!
Nice place
Our stay at Orazia met our basic needs. However, it’s worth noting that the hot water system couldn't support two consecutive hot showers. The room was authentically dated and sparse, but it was adequate for what we required. The lift, while quaint, was a welcome feature. One downside was that some staff members were observed smoking in the stairwells leading to the lift, which was not ideal. On a positive note, the breakfast offered a great variety of choices and was the highlight of our stay, along with the hotel's convenient proximity to the subway. We would recommend staying here for others.
Old world charm.
staff were generally rude and the walls were so think you could hear peoples conversations word for word- particularly bad at night if you are trying to sleep
Hotel Orazio was a nice property. Not a four-star hotel. But very nice great breakfast. Staff was very helpful. Room was pretty nice. Clean. Would stay again.
Great service. Nice place to stay.
We liked the hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. It was quiet, clean and the AC was really good. The breakfast was good, different kinds of bread, toaster, fresh fruit, yoghurt, egg, juice and coffe. The neighborhood was nice, located by a big park. Supermarket nearby as well as restaurants. About 10-15 minutes walk to Roma Termini.
I don’t give bad reviews. I also don’t spend much on hotels. As long as it has a bed, bathroom and it’s clean, I’m happy. However due to it being a weekend in Rome, everything was higher than expected. I ended up paying $500 for two nights here. Unheard of for me. First, no one mentioned that the metro station it’s at, Vittorio Emmanuel, is closed til July. I chose this place because I’m a female solo traveller. That station is 1 minute away. Instead I had to get off at the next one and walk. Nothing was sent to mention this. Second, it often smelled of cigarette smoke. Third, I had a few problems in my room. The AC dripped all night on the bed. I also had no water in the shower in the morning. They ended up giving me another room. Do you think they gave me a nicer one? Nope. They put me in a dungeon with blacked out windows and a twin bed. I had a shower and couldn’t figure out the hair dryer. I thought it was broken. Turns out that you have to turn on the bathroom mirror light to operate the hair dryer. I went to the desk AGAIN. The guy tried to be nice but he was annoyed by me. It wasn’t my fault there were all these problems. Anyway, if I were paying $50, I’d roll with it. But this was a lot of money for hostel-like conditions. I asked for refund, got a resounding “no”. I ended up leaving for a cheaper place (still expensive) but cheaper and 10 times nicer. I would not recommend this if you are paying over $100. There are nicer places for less.
Very good.
Very nice staff. Location was perfect for walking to anything in Rome city. Food was ok but lacking fresh. Room was old and small but fine to sleep and go adventure for the day.
Location
The location seemed unusual when we first pulled in, and the area a bit run down... But as for the hotel and the staff - I have nothing but great things to say. The room was clean and comfortable, the beds were great and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Basic hotel if you just need a bed. Decent breakfast and good AC. Room dated and needs renovations.
The hotel is conveniently located near the train station and there’s also a metro station a few feet away. Overall the hotel was clean however, it is more a 2 star hotel; very basic and very much overpriced. We couldn’t get internet in our room and therefore had to sit in the tiny lobby to get online. The location was perfect for us as we were able to walk to the Colosseum and there were lots of restaurants around. If given a choice, I would not stay here again, at least not for the price. Definitely not value for money!
In need of modernisation
The hotel is a short 10min walk from the train station making it a convenient place to stay if you’re going to be in and out of Rome. The area around the hotel is ok but has a lot of homeless people sleeping rough nearby in the evenings which I didn’t realise when selecting a location. They don’t bother you so it’s safe enough to walk past but not ideal. The hotel is on the 5th floor within a shared building and there’s an old lift that takes you up. Unfortunately I had to climb up all the stairs twice - once because another guest kept the doors open whilst they were doing something (for long enough for me to reach the top as they eventually got in) and a second time because it got stuck half way between floors. The receptionist promptly fixed it though so that was appreciated by the guests arriving downstairs with their suitcases! When we arrived we were allocated a room on the 4th floor which didn’t have lift access. As my mum had a knee problem, the receptionist quickly reallocated us to a room on the 5th floor instead, for which we were very grateful. The staff are very friendly and helpful. We didn’t have breakfast at the hotel but it looked like there was a wide choice of options. The rooms are a little dated and in need of modernisation to make it a lighter space to stay in. Overall it was relatively clean, although the floors had only been swept once during our 5 night stay and the toiletries were replenished only when they had run out.
Very nice 3 star hotel
Check in was easy. Staff were friendly . Continental breakfast was very good. Good location, 10 min elk from main terminus, metro 1 min, coliseum 15 min. We did get allocated the smallest room 525 which wasn’t great, but adequate. There is no kettle facility for drinks, however there is a small fridge. The shower pump is noises, so could be right next to my room. Reception kept our bags after check out until we had to leave for the airport, very useful. Overall a pleasant stay😁 on a budget. I would go again.
Bathroom door was broken from inside and you could not open it. It has to be opened from outside Room were not clean One of the room had smoking smell Only good thing was front desk staff was helpful for checkin and calling taxi
Friendly and helpful staff. This was an emergency booking after being let down by originally booked 4star hotel and expedia less than an hour before boarding plane to Rome. Hotel decor was tired and lacked facilities, no tea/coffee in room, no smart tv, only had limited italian channels, safe not bolted down, no double bed in our room just 4 narrow singles. Expedia only gave us this 3 star hotel as an option to our originally booked and confirmed 4 star hotel so it was never going to live up to our expected standard, but the hotel did fit us in at very short notice. We are more disappointed with expedia than the hotel, the hotel would be fine if on a limited budget or for short 1/2 night stay.
Convenient to Rome Termini station.
Staff was very friendly. Walkable to key Rome sites, or front desk will call a taxi, or the Metro is right downstairs. There is a nice park across the street as well. Bathroom was clean except for some mold in the shower grout and floor grout, but after a shower the entire bathroom was wet/damp so I can see why. It was not a turn off for me though.
The hotel was well maintained. Good breakfast and the front desk staff very friendly. It’s located in a quiet area but, I think a little expensive for the amenities offered.
Excellent place to stay right off a metro stop! Very clean! Easy! Excellent!
It was clean but room was very small and out of date probably needs to be renovated
Walking distance to train station, shopping and the Colosseum. Staff was very friendly and gave excellent dining recommendations. Delicious breakfast served daily.
Very Bad experience, Staff was helpful but water problem in teh shower and problem with the power supply. Fluctuating all the time.
Great and affordable for one night.
Last minute check in. Larger hotel with front desk and elevators. Good for one night. Old and has character but rooms are a bit small and dated. Located closer to train station so you can walk with luggage. Reception was knowledgeable.
Solo in Rome
Clean but older hotel. A bit of walk from termini station with luggage. At night was hard to find door at first. As Rome itself has very little street signs. Had to traverse some stairs to get to elevator to reception. And stairs to get luggage back to lobby later from my room. Staff was friendly and helpful with directions. Room itself was a bit dark.lighting at night in room could be improved. Fridge. Tv, bathroom clean, breakfast Was continental... all in all great for budget minded
Hotel Orazio is on a better location, staff and fecilities are right ... but they charging for a bottle of water... It is not fair..!
KC
Hotel close to train which was handy. & also coliseum. Sketchy areas but perfect if u want a clean room just to sleep in.
Nice place. Room was clean and did the job.
It is on the 5th floor, the is a lift after the first set of stairs. Our overhead light flickered and was never fixed. Only 2 outlets in the room.
Reasonable hotel
Convenient location suitable for one night stay
Front desk service was brilliant. Very friendly and helpful
ORAZIA HOTEL ONLY SERVES THE LORD LUCIO AND MARIA BREAKFAST. THE ELEVATOR A DISASTER IF THEY LEAVE THE DOOR OPEN YOU CAN NEVER USE IT AND WHEN YOU ARRIVE TIRED YOU HAVE TO GO UP TO THE FIRST FLOOR THAT IS WHERE FOR THE ELEVATOR. THE DIRTY BATHROOM.
When we arrived, Mr. Lucio was very kind, the only one and Mrs. Maria at breakfast. The room was very badly cleaned in the bathroom, there was a bad smell of urine when we told the lady that she didn't like it, we had to spray that we had because the smell was strong, the bathroom needs chlorine. The others at the desk didn't want to answer when you asked him any questions. the elevator to take it you have to go up to the first floor the place is bland in the corners there are many vendors who feel somewhat insecure we only give 5 stars to Mr. Lucio.
WOULD NOT STAY AGAIN!
Water drips for a shower! No pressure. Changed rooms to no avail. 5 days of lousy shower. Ridiculous! Location was good. Outdated building. Bathrooms need upkeep badly. Disappointed to say the least!
very near the metro and bus stops but I wish the area around the hotel were cleaner...but the hotel itself is good!
Very underrated hotel! Nice stay
Nice location close to the metro and very clean.
The accommodations were fine. Breakfast was the highlight. Very small showers with poor water pressure. Sketchy neighborhood for sure. Overall, it felt clean, just outdated.
We loved the lift and the unusual furnishings, made it a memorable place to stay. Shower was very basic and air con blew on to the bed at night, so these small things stopped it from being perfect. Lovely breakfast in sweet little dining room, with a ‘maid’ waiting on us. All in all a very pleasant stay
Nope not going back
Staff was not unfriendly but in no way did they try to make you feel welcome. Staff looked at me upon check in and ignored me until I spoke directly to him. Even after waiting 10min for someone to arrive, ringing the bell and calling the phone. He arrived. Sat down at his computer and ignored me until I said “excuse me”. He then asked how can I help you? I’m standing there with my wife. 4 pieces of luggage that he had to walk through to get to his desk. We finally checked in. He said here’s your key. Your rooms down that way follow the signs. Didn’t give any further information. Had to go back to ask about WiFi password, breakfast times. Nothing in the room with that information either. Our air conditioner leaked and after reporting it the clerk handed me a towel and said here dry it up. Nothing about fixing it or offering to change rooms. The floor was soaked and wet for 4 days. Each day asking about getting it fixed and being told it will be looked into.
All staffs were very nice to us and accommodating but we were very disappointed with some parts of the hotel itself. There were very old blankets, the towels were cloth (not real towels) and were old and had a hole inside. The shower was a nightmare. The drain wasn’t working properly so I had to shut off the valve every couple of minutes to get rid of waste water that was filling up in the shower pan. The walls were not clean and the wall papers was somewhat damaged.
I like the servic at the breakfast buffet. Front desk people were horrible. Shower was filthy and doors would not close properly.
Great access to all the major tourist attractions. Cheap and cheerful and good if you only are using the room to slee in.
Booked 3-9 Feb. But only stay 2 nights and check out on 5th Feb due to bed bugs. But full payment made.
Great Location
Hotel location was excellent for visiting the top Rome attractions as most of them were within walking distance of the hotel, or if preferred the Metro station was situated outside the hotel. We caught the Leonardo Express train from the airport (30 minutes) and then walked 10 minutes from Termini station to the hotel so very handy. The building is very old and the immediate area not so pleasant but if you walk 2/3 minutes down the road it's a much nicer area. It suited us fine for price and location. Our room overlooked the park so the views were good, however the room could do with a bit of attention: curtain tie-back hooks fallen out of the wall, electric sockets loose, wardrobe door handles missing. The room and hotel were very clean and all staff we encountered were friendly. Breakfast was a choice of cereals, fruit, bread, ham, cheese and pastries and was continually replenished by the staff. On our final day we left our suitcase at reception after checking out and then collected it on the way to the airport which enabled us to enjoy our day. For a short city break this hotel served us well and we would be happy to return if visiting Rome again.
Most tiniest shower ever
The location is top notch. Close walking distance to the Colosseum, restaurants and shops. The room came with a king size bed and an extra twin bed for extra people. The room is not huge but a decent size. The negative part of this room is that the shower is extremely extremely small. I am a normal size woman and had difficulties showering because you literally Will be touching the wall. It’s a very small square and if you are a bigger person you will not fit. The toilet is too close to the wall so be prepared to sit on the toilet and touch the wall. The front desk is limited in their English. This is a much older building and room. The king size bed was a little hard but sleepable. In Rome to get a very good rating the room usually has to be very presentable in its appearance and the appearance of this room is mix and match and furniture old brittle looking. If the elevator is not working you will have five flights of stairs. It is a two person elevator and if someone else is using it you will have to wait a while. This is a hotel but it is in the middle of an apartment complex. When you open the windows to your room you will see the other apartments surrounding you. The best thing about this room is the price and the location. But if you’re looking for a four or five star hotel this would not be it. Overall it had a secure feeling to it, as the entrance had a secure entry. You have to swipe your key card to get into the premises or they can buzz you in.
Very detailed review
The location of this hotel is fantastic. There is an amazing Asian restaurant around the corner if you are not in the mood for Italian food. Walk just a few feet and you are surrounded by vendors selling multiple things. The Colosseum was a 15 minute walk. The hotel is surrounded by stores and restaurants. The elevator is super tiny and very very old fashion. The room was older full of furniture from different era. Which made it look a little cheaper. When opening the window it opens with no screen and opens facing to the center of a bunch of different old apartments. The biggest issue I had with this hotel is the shower is unbelievably tiny. I am 5 foot 145pounds and you have only inches away from the walls surrounding you. If you are a larger man you will have extreme great difficulties with this shower. For ladies who are not washing their hair it’s almost impossible not to get your hair wet. If you are heavyset you will not fit in the shower. We got a King size bed which was nice but the room also comes with an extra twin in the corner for other guests. The room comes with a fridge full of beverages. TV in the hotel room is probably 13x20”. There are two toilets in the room. The main toilet that you use is extremely close to the wall probably 2 inches away from my shoulder. Overall for the price of this room being as cheap as it is it is overall a good hotel for your money. It was one of the cheapest hotels for the location.
Hotel in walking distance of the Colosseum. Just right next to it is the Metro and super market. Great value for money.
The location for the price was reasonable. We walked to many of the best sites.
Best
Amazing
The hotel staff were pleasant and the room was clean but the bed was very hard and the shower was tiny. The breakfast is very good for 5 euros.
Unsafe Stay
The website does not tell you it is unfriendly to handicapped persons The elevator to the 5th floor is the only way to check in,it is very small .The steps to get to room unbearable the room smelled like smoke so he switched our room .The tv did not work the lights flickered and bathroom main light did not work The people were friendly but the hotel needs to be refurbished I canceled my stay and went to another hotel I would never stay there again !I am disappointed with Hotels.com
Nice hotel, clean and close to shopping. It is a closed distance to the train station too.
good location near to the termini train station.
good location and good breakfast . nice view of the park. worth the money.
loved location by metro --- unfortunately our room was right across from dining room -- we heard all phones ringing from the desk --- and people coming in --- there was no safe in the room as we had understood
Hotel is not situated in the best part of rome. Hotel on 5th floor with a old wooden elevator making all kind of noises going up.
The elevator is antique but intriguing. Our stay was comfortable.
Standard hotel
The hotel overal is a standard hotel. After coming back from dinner on our first night, we noticed the bag of chips was completely covered in ants (on one of the beds) after notifying the front desk they let us change rooms (room 524). After trying to downgrade us we finally got transferred to room 509 which was is in much better condition. Overall out stay was great, we basically just slept there at night, beds were comfortable( better than expected based off pictures). The morning guy Francisco kept giving us attituded the first couple of days after our room change... We luckily didn't see him on our last day..Fernando at night with the pony tail was amazing! He was welcoming super nice and gave us great tips on getting to the airport.
Appropriate accommodations for the price
Excellent location in its proximity to major tourist locations (Colosseum, Forum) and Termini station (making transportation to FCO very convenient). The immediate vicinity of the hotel is slightly sketchy, but nothing too bad. A lot of rundown and vacant storefronts, but didn't feel in danger. Old, small, unreliable elevator up to the hotel on the fifth floor. Front desk staff all spoke very fluent English and were quite friendly. They ask you to keep your room key at the front desk before heading out for the day which I found incredibly strange. Housekeeping was stingy with towels and didn't really make the beds, but the bathroom and floors were clean. Beds are incredibly uncomfortable--so firm that we had to put our comforters under the sheets. AC worked, but just barely. WiFi was very reliable. Overall it was worth the price for the location, but if I go back I'd probably pay up to get a four star hotel.
staff are very nice , and helpful, breakfast are good as well
Budget hotel - worth the money paid
Hotel staff were friendly and able to help. Staff spoke English (as well as many other languages) so it was easy to communicate with them. The hotel offered breakfast for 5€, which consisted of cereals/yogurts/fruit/bread. Rooms were spacious with ensuite bathrooms. The hotel is situated on the 5th floor of a building but there is a lift for 3 people. Near to a mini supermarket, a Chinese restaurant and kebab shops. 15 minute walk from the coliseum, 25 minute walk from the Spanish steps, 50 minute walk from the Vatican, 10 minute walk from the station. Overall, I would recommend this hotel when visiting Rome.
would not recommend
specifically requested 1 double and 1 single bed, however, they just assumed my children are very little and gave me a room with only 1 double bed. so my son had to stay in a separate single room. then they told me they will give us free breakfast for the inconvenience but in the morning another person at front desk told us no breakfast included. I'm just glad we were there only for a night, it's not a very nice neighborhood. never would stay there again or recommend to anyone.
Stay away
It was ok for the sightseeing and the train station that's about where it ends. Hotel is in a shady neighbourhood, keep your personal belongings close. The room - it was bad, we had to keep the windows closed because there was a bad smell coming in from the street. The room had mold in the shower which was also drity, there was spiderwebs on the ceiling and the headboard was held together by tape. No joke, it was a bad way to end our euro trip. Service was just ok, don't expect to be treated like "guest". The only thing it has going for it is that it has one of those old school elevator.
Motel on 5th floor of apartment building
This "hotel" lies on the 5th floor of an apartment building; where you have to be buzzed in to enter, drag your bags across a flight of stairs to get into an old school one person elevator (paternoster) and hope all your luggage can fit in at once. Room had a non-functional noisy AC, tiny TV way in the corner and terrible bedding.
Modest hotel at reasonable rate
Room was noisy because it was next to stairs, has wear and tear, window would not lock properly, had to ask to get air con switched on, About 15 min walk to station with cases
I do not recommend at all..
The worest experience, It can not be called a hotel.. !! Will never repeat. Location was good and nothing else.
Close to Metro and Colleseum
Nice hotel. Be prepared though it is on the 5th floor and the Lift is very small and slow. We had a day of lost electricity but we just went out for a while. Economical for Rome.
Disappointing
Hotel access by antique, unreliable lift to the 5th floor. To reach our room, we had to go down one floor using stairs; not easy for seventy year old with restricted mobility. On arrival, receptionist ignored us for some time, before attending to registration.
Pleasant Hotel
Stayed here for 1 night as we had to fly out of Italy from Rome. Location is excellent, short walk from the Termini train station, even shorter walk from Victor Emmanuel underground train (literally around the corner, less than 1 minute walk) and about a 15 minute walk to the Colosseum. Our room was clean/bright, nicer than the photos I saw online. I'm guessing that it was recently updated. The hotel is located on the top (6th) floor of the building. Lower floors look like they are for different small businesses. There is fast and quiet elevator that will take up to 3 people to the top.
Great value
Great value
Well priced and good location
The hotel is placed centrally in Rome and it is walking distance to most attractions. There are several restaurants close by and a metro station within only a few metres. Would highly recommend the breakfast! Quiet and safe location.
The host was very friendly. He reminded me to keep my personal belongings in a safe place when I went out every time. Very welcoming. Nice room and unique elevator.
Fifth floor hotel with a lift and a view of a park
The hotel is in s very good location with a metro stop basically at the front door. There is a nice park across the street and lots of restaurants in the area.
OK hotel.
Amenities and room OK, but beds felt like mattress was really a boxspring!!! Wallpapper dirty and torn in places. Neighbourhood seedy and dirty. Restaurants locally were awful. Stay away from this area.
Clean hotel near train and colosseum
Clean hotel, helpful staff, very close to train station, close to colosseum.
Good location
Not a great hotel, but staff was excellent! Very good location, close to everything.
Just okay
Room did the job, but was tiny and cleanliness was a little sketchy. A few DIY improvements could go a long way.
Decent, not great.
Good location, walkable to most attractions. Hotel is fine, nothing special. You get what you pay for.
Just Right
I stayed in the hotel for 2 nights and it was just right. The room size was bigger than normal for European hotels. The room was clean as well as the bathroom. The hotel staff was nice and informative. They had a breakfast buffet but not much to choose from. It was only 5€ per person. The location was fantastic! Literally a10 minute walk to the coliseum and right next to a metro station that goes to Vatican City. There were great restaurants nearby closer to the coliseum. Overall it was a good place to be.
Not for more than one night
Not very friendly staff, beds vey hard, shower drain clogged and actually no room for soap..had to leave door open to get shampoo and stop shower to stop it from overflowing onto floor. Neighbourhood is ok, great Chinese food place right next door. Quaint old type elevator.
Decent hotel in Rome
Central location next to a park, with easy and pleasant walk to train station and the Colosseum. Clean room, decent breakfast, super friendly staff, who even guarded our luggage while we traveled away from Rome for a few days. The only drawback is its elevator. Since the hotel is on the 5th floor of a high ceiling, old grand building, everyone relies on its only super old/small elevator (max 3 people with no luggage) to go up, which unfortunately dies only because the previous passenger forgot to close its doors after use.
it was ok for the price
Location location location
OK to stay
Overall experience is OK, considering we paid 90 euros per night + 4 euros per person per night.
Pleasant stay
The area had character and was safe. The staff was extremely courteous and helpful. They were the best part of the stay. Being a smaller hotel, the staff gave very personal service and attention to our needs. The building was older but clean. You had to take an old elevator that looked like it came out of the movie "Charade" to get to the 5th floor. That's the location of the hotel. The room was very clean. It was within walking distance of the coliseum and train station. Breakfast at the hotel was not included but very reasonable. The family liked the stay. Price was reasonable.
Disappointed
A group of 4 staying in Rome for 4 nights. This hotel was an overall 3. It would be a bit more if the AC unit in our room would be working properly. We reported this to the front desk but they were unable to help get a new room or fix the AC. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy and takes some getting used to. If I ever go back to Rome (don't think so), I wouldnt stay here again.
Good location and price
The rooms are a good size but slightly older furnishings. Staff were friendly and efficient and the air con in the room worked well which we needed given the temperature when we were there
Generally clean. but so so.
Generally clean. Not in the nicest part of Rome but not the priciest either. Set near a small park and the metro and not far from some reasonable restaurants. We did walk quiet a few miles daily so didn't mind the distance to some sites but other might. Hotel set on the 5th floor access via steps(lots) or a small 3 person lift. Rooms were suitable to crash/sleep in only. They are a little small and in ours the aircon didn't work, the shower head wasn't very good and needed replacing, no bath plug and no door handle on the sliding concertina door. We only used to to sleep and change in so was ok. I think we were lucky and able to get wife while in our room. Most seemed to sit in reception to get connected. Food, breakfast was ok for us but we're not fussy. No cooked foods so don't expect a fryup. One type of cold cheese, ham and salami. One type of bread. Small selection of yogurts and corflaked a some pastry. Fruit juice and coffees.
Not so pleased
We stayed here for two nights. Both nights the AC didnt work. Being in a tour we used to come late to the room and find out that the AC doesnt work. They either want us to change room in the middle of the night or tell us that we have to wait until morning for a technician to check it. Manager checked it himself and gave us free breakfast.
Misleading location
We anticipated a short walk from the Termini station to the hotel but it was much further than it looks on the map--especially pulling suitcases along. The shower/tub did not have a curtain so water goes everywhere. Breakfast was good and staff helpful when present.
Value hotel close to train station
The hotel was walking distance from the train station. If you would like to take the subway/metro system from the train station, the hotel is less than 1/2 block from station. Breakfast was very good. Room was clean and comfortable.
April vacation
one metro station away from Termini Everybody was nice and helpful except Francesco overall stay was OK
Great "Home Base" for Rome Vacation!
Our family of 4 stayed at the Orazia Hotel for 8 nights. We just needed a place to sleep and a good breakfast to start each day, as we were out seeing the beauty of Rome during all waking hours! This hotel was a perfect match. The hotel arranged for a private car to pick us up at the airport (thank you Fernando Militerni!). The staff were always friendly and helpful, and the room easily accommodated all 4 of us (big by European standards). Large, clean room. Friendly and helpful staff. The room had a hair dryer, a safe, plenty of outlets, and a nice flat screen TV. The room was cleaned well each day. Breakfasts were the usual European fare--nothing fancy but enough variety to get us energized in the mornings. The Metro stop was literally 50 feet from the hotel entrance and we were able to easily and quickly get to anywhere we needed (plus, the Coliseum was only about a 15 minute walk). There were several nice restaurants nearby and a cafe on the ground floor of the building that was open early/late. This hotel is a great fit for those travelers who need a good bargain without all of the frills, and not for people with "Las Vegas Syndrome" who expect to be treated like royalty without paying for it!
Great hotel near termini and colosseo
very nice hotel although looks old rooms are excellent bathroom facilities and breakfast is very good
Great Hotel Close to the Colesseo
Large Rooom, Confortable bed, Great Bathroom, Excellent Staff and Excellent Service, Wonderfull Breakfast
Dont judge a book by its cover!
We were pleasantly surprised after walking in the big old wooden doors and catching the old lift to the Hotel on the 5th floor. These two things gave the hotel character. The building use to be a palace and it was easy to imagine women in long bustled ball gowns walking through to a ballroom on the ground floor or down the marble steps chattering to one another in its earlier days. The hotel was clean, neat and friendly. The staff are very polite and helpful. I was very impressed with the bi-linguistic skills, not only English but French as well. The hotel is located around the corner from Vittorio Emanuelle train station...one stop from Termini, the main station. It is central to a fresh food market if you care to explore the route on foot to Termini, and we enjoyed discvering some lovely Bottegas to eat at. There is one fabulous one almost directly across the street from the hotel. Breakfast is a continental buffet style...no different to other hotels in Rome, and always fresh and ample to eat. We were late to breakfast a few times and there was never any problem to hurry us along. We will certainly stay there again. Its good value.
Brilliant hotel, within walking distance of sites
Lovely clean hotel, within walking distance if colloseum and most sites!!

Fridge didn't work so was just a furniture piece doing nothing. Majority of time no hot water available in evening or late afternoon for the 4 night stay we were at. Walls weren't insulated so noisy neighbours will keep you up all night.
