Not a lot at all. What more can I say. No WiFi as advertised. Hotel needs attention,
Location was really good. Breakfast was good. Refrigerator in room was really loud, so I unplugged it.
Its a nice place, clean and near everything especially the old town
The property was basic but centrally located to walk to the main sites of interest. Your staff was not aware but they had coffee making facilities in the rooms. A good choice for the price.
Not a problem.
I had no problem with anything. Very helpful.
Good traditional hotel
I liked the older traditional style with interesting features and didn’t mind the ageing fixtures and fittings. In a good location, very close to the national art galleries. Comfortable enough and no noise problems.
Lovely hotel in central location
A fine place
Friendly & helpful staff Decent breakfast Good location Comfortable bed
Very close to the center of Bucharest and friendly staff
Nice and quiet location in the city centre. Comfortable, clean, affordable. Perfect base for exploring Bucharest.
Lovely hotel in central Bucharest
I stayed here for a 3 day city break and it was the perfect place to explore the Old Town. Clean, quite, comfortable with very friendly staff and real old-world charm. Highly recommended.
Solo traveler
I must admit, my initial impression of the area was not very good. Once I took the time to explore, I liked it. The hotel is obviously very old and our shows it's age in some places. However, the room was clean, the breakfast was pretty good, but above all the staff was fantastic. All of them were nice, took time to answer questions about the area, and were helpful when needed. Being a solo traveler, it was nice of them to take time and chat about whatever. A++ for customer service!!!
Throughly enjoyable. View great, walking distances great and a knowledgeable staff.
Useful and convenient city hotel.
I arrived late after a delayed flight. The bed was welcome and reasonably comfortable. Breakfast was adequate but rather disorganized. I felt ripped off over the cost of water in the room fridge
Close to centre and old town.
Hotel staff were helpful.breakfast was very good and varied.
Overnight stay works
Nice location, friendly staff, big room, decent price and clean
A very nice hotel in the heart of Bucharest I spent a good time there
It all went wrong
All went well on arrival. In our room we only had 20% of TV channels. On our way out mentioned TV and asked for more tea and milk. Big thunderstorm while out, returned to room. Left for dinner at 18.30. Our room on 6th floor. Lift stopped about 4th floor, we were trapped 30-40 minutes. Very unhappy with staff response to emergency button. 10 minutes before anyone came and no updates on progress after that til lots more pushing emergency button. Finally got out and walked downthe4 flights. Staff apologetic, said lift fixed soon, we went to dinner. Lift not fixed on return Husband on walking stick struggled up 6 flights as hotel full and no other room available.TV and tea issues not fixed.. Lift still broken next morning. Breakfast room a mess,no clean table, had to ask for food items to be replenished.
I had a great stay. The perfect location with great restaurants and cafes nearby. The rooms are very cozy and clean. No noise and quiet neighbourhood. Almost no remarks. The kettle was a bit old and the shower cabin was a bit small, but thats not a big deal. Over all i'd say it was great.
Comfortable and friendly staff!
I had an amazing time here! The staff was so friendly I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is visiting Romania!
Large Rooms - Friendly Staff.
Nice hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. Rooms large and clean, but could do with a lick of paint. If you want comfy, good value but can do without Marriot Std rooms then it's good place.
Bucharest: Book a rest / fun time
Nice area comfortably close to old town but far enough to be quiet at night. Nice old building with friendly staff.
Eurotrip2017
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good. It was built in 1935 but has been updated. In a central part of town and a taste of the old world.
Good location for the price.
Only a couple more blocks away from city center and old town but way cheaper than the other hotels.
Very good hotel.
Opera's hotel hard working people from the front desk(Gabriela and Florin),cleaning the room(Nina and Anca),breakfast(Elena),they deserve the credit for happy guests...My vacation is the second one in this hotel and I was pleasantly surprised that after two years ,these nice people remembered me and treated me like a member of their family. This is important especially if you stay like me for 21 days.A very good breakfast in terms of food and a very good coffee after a warm "Good morning" made my day. I strongly recommend this hotel . Ioan M,USA.
Hardly a 3 star hotel
Booked and paid for a double bed room, instead hotel only has 2 little twin beds, like the kind someone had as a child. They tried to push the 2 beds together, but when sleeping, they slide apart. Breakfast was hardly worth it, pastries were old and a somewhat stale. Coffee was the only good thing there. The staff member working the coffee shop was pleasant and smiled, also greeted the guests. She was good. There is absolutely no parking around the hotel as the streets around it are crowded with parked cars and people. Rooms are definitely outdated, furniture old, mattresses flat and lopsided. Shower curtain ripped and half torn off. Black mold in the shower needs a serious cleaning and disinfecting. I would not recommend this hotel property and will never stay there again. The guys who work the front desk are not friendly to guests. Almost as if you are bothering them should you ask a question. This would probably be a 2 star hotel in the west of Europe.
Good central Bucharest location
Stayed here 22-24th July before heading on to Brasov. The hotel was good and the staff helpful.
Nice hotel, quite, good location, spacious rooms, very friendly breakfast service, we can recommend it
Could not sleep at all.
Main reason you book a hotel room is to have where to sleep over night. A/C did not work, so I could not sleep at all.
wouldn't stay anywhere else in Bucharest
great staff make this hotel worth the visit.
Good location small hotel friendly front desk
Great value, excellent location. I would stay here again without a doubt.
very, very good.
Just off a main Bulevard; lovely location
clean rooms, friendly staff, nice breakfast, well located.
The Opera is located downtown near, but not in, the Old Town section of Bucharest. The hotel is comfortable. For English-speaking tourists, the front desk staff weren't fluent (seems like a lot of German tourists). There is a restaurant and bar on-site, but we didn't try either. Overall, we were a bit disappointed by the Opera.
excellent location next to a beautiful park and in the city center
Good position.
The hotel was close to restaurants and places of interest. We enjoyed our stay in Bucharest. It was an easy city to walk around but we had to watch where we put our feet as many paths were broken.
A getaway to Romania
Hotel Staff was very friendly and breakfast receptionist was very hospitable and accommodating.
Bucharest in the snow
Great location, very helpful staff. Enjoyable visit
A nice hotel in the heart of Bucharest
The hotel is really nice (even if pretty small), the rooms are large and clean, the breakfast is excellent. The location is fantastic, right in the center of the city, with lots of attractions nearby. Everything within walking distance.
Excelent Hotel
A bit old but everything was clean and personnel very friendly.
Halloween weekend
great location-easy walk to nightlife-hard to find because hotel faces away from the arrival direction. it is on a one way street and there are no lights on the building at night
Fantastic!
Fantastic stay at the Hotel Opera. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Rooms were of a great size and comfortable and very clean. Good selection at breakfast with superb service. Would definitely stay here again. Highly recommended.
Not perfect, but not bad
I stayed here before, in 2012. The facilities seemed more "tired", particularly my room, which felt like it was about due for a refurbishment. Old, stained carpet, functional but drab furnishings. But the room was clean, the staff, as before, were all exceedingly pleasant, the free breakfast was just what I needed, the location is perfect for what I wanted in Bucuresti, and so overall I consider the Hotel Opera an excellent value for the money.
Convenient small hotel in city centre.
Very central. Hotel Opera is looking tired and in need of some money spent but it's still adequate for a short stay on a budget.
Small hotel;very good location.
Clean, quiet, very good location.Really rich and fresh breakfast buffet. Everybody was professional, friendly and tried to make me feel very welcome.Free WiFi in the whole hotel.I enjoyed this hotel for 21 nights and I can not say anything negative.Booked very reasonable via Expedia, all taxes included.Thank you Expedia.
Great location, very reasonably priced & serviced hotel. WiFi on 2nd floor was very hit & miss, the rooms are dated, breakfast was ok, however the staff friendliness and hotel location more than make up for it.
Hotel in the center of the city; nice area; good breakfast, free wifi; small hotel, but clean. Good price, worth the stay.
Great location!
This is a very nice hotel in the central area of the city. You can walk to most of the sights. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are decent. I would stay again. Very few of the locals are aware of its location, but with a decent map, it is not too hard to find.
Lovely little hotel in a great location
It is in a great location to everything, subway, major parks and sites and very affordable. I'd stay again with no doubt.
Nice hotel close to a beautiful park and downtown.
Everything was nice---good breakfast but the orange juice was not very good. Would go back any day.
Nice
About half km to Universitate metro where you also catch 783 airport bus. Very nice park for strolling one block away. Hotel's immediate surrounding is transitional but not sinister. Some more prestigious hotels are two blocks away. Breakfast is so so. Hotel aspires to a higher status, which is ok. Our room nice and worth what we paid.
Bucharest Trip
Six grumpy old men visited Bucharest for four days staying at the Hotel Opera for three nights. The hotel was well located, near the Old Town and matched our needs. The rooms were OK, the shower was hot and as soon as we pointed out that some towels were missing and the bedside lamp bulbs had blown these things were put right very quickly. The breakfast was adequate and again for the price we couldn't grumble, which for such a group of travellers would be a first. Not the Ritz but you get what you pay for, if ever I returned to Bucharest I wouldn't hesitate in staying in the Hotel again.
The Little Gem
This was a wonderful find for us. The Hotel is very modest, but we would not change anything. The hotel's staffing were very pleasant to work with. The rooms were surprisingly comfortable. The surrounding location was very safe and walking distance to the sights and to the bus lines. Truly a little Gem in the large city of Bucharest. Highly recommended.
Big Rooms, Good Service
Stayed for 3 nights. Room size good enough, bathroom/shower quite satifactory. Location not very ideal, but not too bad. 15/20 min walk to University Square. Not enough options to eat nearby, although can order from Pizza Hut or Indian food from a Haveli Restaurant. Only one thing bothered me was that all the plug connections were were loose, out of 4 i could use only 2! Rest all, ok. Will cost you one way between 35-50 Lei from Airport/Hotel thru taxi. Breakfast pretty average, manageable.
Bravo!
Hotel Opera offers perfect accommodation in the beautiful city of Bucharest. The small hotel is located on a quiet street close to the major sights, good restaurants, the old city, etc. The room was clean, quiet and had an ensuite bathroom, tv, telephone, minibar, tea/coffee making facilities, free Wifi. The staff were extremely professional, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this wonderful hotel and its staff for making my trip to Bucharest unforgettable.
Not so good as expected
The breakfast was not good (they serve you a plate with several pieces of different food). The shower space was very tight and not comfortable. There were some marks on the ceiling from repaired cracks. The bed was comfortable but not big (if I am not wrong about 1.4m for double room). My expectations was for a higher quality hotel.
Nice Hotel close to City Centre
It is the 11th time I stayed at Opera. At this price point you will not find a central hotel that can compete in convenience, comfort, location and overall service. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Nice Location
Good hotel in a great part of the city fairly close to metro stations. Breakfast decent, staff range from really friendly and helpful to a bit dismissive and surly. My only real complaint is that when I arrived my room was incredibly hot. I turned off both radiators, opened the window and balcony door and still it was unbelievably hot all night (despite being about minus 10 outside). Second night, after the room had got down to a decent temparature, it was very pleasant!
An impeccable little gem
This is an impeccable little gem in an excellent location in the center of Bucharest, near Cismigiu, the most beautiful park of the city. It is elegant, with the most pleasant and helpful personel, clean and extremely confortable.
Wonderful!!!
Great location. The room was more than expected and had a little balcony, although it did not have much of a view. The room was nice a cozy in the winter -- sometimes to the point where I had to crack the window open a bit. There was plenty of hot water; the breakfast buffet was ample, and the staff approachable. I would highly recommend.
Good budget price
The hotel is good for it's price. Location is near a park so if you're traveling with pets it's a good benefit. However, I would advise giving the hotel a heads up with pets. The area seemed to have a lot of graffiti however that's pretty much most of Bucharest.
Nice hotel in the centre of Bucharest
I have stayed at Opera a few times over the past six months. Every stay has been a good experience. The check in is fast, the room is predictably clean, the wifi works well, the area is quiet and there is a number of good restaurants within 5 min walking distance. It is not a 5 star hotel and it is not trying to be one. You get a good, comfortable night stay for a fair price. I wholeheartedly recommend it.
Perfect location, great for the money
We had a great time in Bucharest. Our stay at Hotel Opera was relaxing, the staff was friendly and the breakfast bar was more than enough. I will recommend this hotel to all my friends.
Misleading Reviews
From the cigarette choked micro lobby to the one small towel per room, this hotel needs to come off the recommended list. I'm not sure that $10 million in renovations would make it better.
Nice hotel good location
Nice hotel good location good staff lots of cafe restaurants near by and safe
Quiet hotel
Comfortable bed. Clean. Unfortunately smoky and rather warm. But generally ok.
Value for money in the City Center
A simple hotel, clean and tidy in the heart of Bucharest. For the low price I got all I expected.
Indeed close to all the points of interest downtow
The hotel quality was consistent with what I expected for the price, namely a place to sleep, wash-up, have breakfast and leave my baggage in a secure location close to the point that interested me downtown. Only critique is that the bartender and other employees were chit-chatting amongst themselves instead of of talking to me the client, alone at the bar. I guess that that was more important to them...
Good location
For the price the hotel its ok
Close to Sights
Nice hotel in city within walking distance of park and sights. Staff of hotel very nice and helpful.
Great Central location
Loved this place! very central
Affordable, excellent location, friendly staff
The Opera is, all in all, an excellent place. Down a side street off one of Central Bucharest's main streets, it is convenient (<10 mins gentle walk) to the old town, and has a post office almost right next to it.The staff are friendly, and all the ones I interacted with spoke excellent English, and the room seemed like a good deal - reasonably sized, very clean. I would certainly stay again, if I were to return to Bucharest.
Good for short stay
Centrally located, good value hotel and surprisingly modern. Not many facilities though. We have stayed here one night came back to the hotel from a city visit after the checkout time and the electronic keys expired so we could not get into the room but staff was pleasant did not make a fuss of it, gave us new keys and we checked out later on with no problems. Staff speaks English quite well.
Great place to stay
The hotel is in an excellent location. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great hotel to stay
The hotel was great ! It was clean, had a wonderfull staff and the location was ideal.\ To start the day, we enjoyed a good breatfast. I will stay there again. Retired in Alabama
Convenient location
The hotel was pleasant, the staff were uniformly friendly. The location was excellent - not a distinguished immediate couple of blocks, but very close to the city center and to one of the larger parks in Bucuresti. The amenities were basic - nothing great, but not shabby, either. Adequate for the rate paid.
Best value for money
Very good hotel. Excellent location. Very good price. Very good and help ful staff. Value for money.
Outstanding hotel, superb location.
The hotel was in a superb location, with easy access to all of the main attractions of Bucharest. It's location was as good as any of the major chain hotels in the city, but, at a very good price indeed. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. There was a quite good free breakfast as well. The room was very large and had a flat screen TV and very good air conditioning, also coffee and tea making facilities as well as free wi-fi. I highly recommend the hotel.
Nice and central, close to the park
Only stopped one night, I had the wrong room at first due to a last minute change but this was very quickly rectified with minimum fuss. Location was great.
Hotel Opera in Bucharest
Was a little tricky to find from the train station without a detailed map. The staff was fine to work with once I found the hotel. The hotel room was huge. The hotel had character. Very cool. The location was quiet for night sleeping. Breakfast came with the price of the room. No problems with the room. I would recommend it.
mediocre location, quality hotel
The hotel was nice. The air conditioner was a bit weak and when you took your room key card out of the room, it turned off. So there was no chance for the room to cool down all day. The hotel is right next to a nice park. It was a bit scary walking to the hotel at night from the bus stop because the streets are poorly lit. Nice reception staff and large room.
Location, great staff & nice boutique hotel
The Opera Hotel is well situated for traveling on foot to Old Town or up near the Art Museum, the the Atheneaum Syphony Hall, home of the George Enescu Orchestra. Bus and Metro were within 2 blocks. Staff are very friendly, and helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants and the like. The morning breakfast buffet was well appointed and enjoyable, waitstaff went to the limit to please, even made omelets on request. The room was very clean, the bed a little soft for my liking, but overall the accommodations were great. We would highly recommend the Opera Hotel.
Good value for money.
Great location for business and pleasure, Dont expect a big breakfast, but enough to start your morning.
Cosy small hotel in a nice area of Bucharest
Overall a reasonably small hotel, not far from downtown and next to a park and an exhibition/fair hall. Friendly personnel. I stayed in a room at the top floor - quite comfortable, the only minuses were a very old hairdryer that needs replacement and the fact that the water pressure is not very strong.
Excellent hotel for excellent price
wonderful hotel, beautifully decorated. Large room for double - full breakfast, staff very helpful and polite. No problem asking hotel to order taxi to airport. Would definitely stay here again.
small hotel, locate in the center
small hotel, locate in the center near Victory street. i like the fact that they renew the hotel recently, wireless internet, it is good hotel if u need only to sleep there - nothing more.
Fair value for money
Good room, spacious bath, clean, good breakfast, well positioned in the City, friendly personnel, reasonable price.
a good choice
This was a nice hotel that combined the comforts of a modern hotel with the charm and character of an older building. The hotel and its staff are wonderful. It is centrally located and reasonably close to the metro (about 6 blocks)but the immediately adjacent blocks are a bit grey and dreary. The restaurants were also several blocks away. I would have given the hotel 5 stars if the immediate surroundings had been nicer
Nice Hotel in the best location
Nice Hotel in the best location in Bucarest, near the garden in a quiet place. very good breakfast!!! 5 minutes walking to the old city.
Super Location
Great location, as it was close to the Opera house and Hilton (5-10 minute walk) the University/Intercontinental Hotel (10 minute walk) and the People's Palace (15 minute walk). Plenty of places to eat in the area.
Bon emplacement, personnel accueillant, wifi excellent, très propre, belles décorations sur les étages.
Goede prijs/ kwaliteit verhouding. Hotel gunstig gelegen in een buurt waar grote renovatie plaats vind.

Very nice traditional hotel ideal location for visiting the city
