Classic hotel nothing fancy, breakfast was good and included in the price. Close to transportation. The room was clean which is important for us. It was a decent hotel for the price we paid.
Wrong room, bad food, and MOLD
We have been in Italy for 10 days, staying in hotels from Venice to Rome and this was without a doubt the worst hotel we’ve stayed in yet. First, they gave us a key for a balcony room and told us we had a balcony, I told them I did not pay for a balcony but they gave it to us anyways. Later when leaving for dinner, we were stopped and told that they mixed up our name with another’s and we need to leave the balcony room because we did not pay for it, which I had already told this employee yet he gave it to us anyways. We did not car about losing the balcony but we’re more frustrated because we chose to stay in Rome 3 nights so we would be able to settle in a little more then a previously and making us move completely defeated that. The best part was, no one was actually in the room because they tried to upsell us on paying extra to no have to move, so I think there wasn’t a mistake, just something they do to try and get people to upgrade. Luckily I got the breakfast included because it is NOT worth paying for, can easily get a significantly better breakfast for €10 literally anywhere else. Only options were “American coffee”, hard boiled eggs, and bread. Lastly, our room (402) had an INSANE amount of mold under the window!! I forgot to take a picture as I tried to forget that it was there because I was too tired to move again. 0/10, would not recommend to anyone! Find somewhere better for your money.
In general very clean and safe, the staff very kind, only two things that they can improve in the future. The breakfast has very limited options and there is not clothes iron machine available.
Customer service was amazing. Very nice people, we enjoyed our stay.
Location was very good. Rooms are fine. Staff is very friendly and good breakfast.
Horrible experience
This was the most miserable experience with hotel staff in my whole life. I travel abroad at least 5-6 times/year, and I have been doing this for over 2 decades. However, I have never been treated so bad. The hotel looks like a dungeon and the staff is strange, unfriendly and manipulative. They only focus on charging you inappropriately. I made a special request for two twin beds in advance (traveling with my brother), which they accepted. However when I arrived they told me they only have one double bed, and I should be thankful for it. Even though my confirmation showed my special request in writing, the front desk lady said, her reservation doesn't show it, so too bad for me. They also said I should have figured this out from the photo. I cancelled my room immediately, however they still charged me for 6 nights. Hotels.com tried to get my money back unsuccessfully. When I called the owner he blamed it on expedia.com, (it was impossible to see the connection). They also tried to charge me cash for city taxes, saying they cannot use the credit card machine, even though they did use it to charge me for the room. They refused to give any receipts or to respond to emails. A few friends continued to stay there after I left and they felt afraid of the staff. They would enter their room anytime without notice. They also forced them you to live the room key with front desk while staying there, so they can enter any time. Bizarre all the way!!!!
I definitely recommend it
The room was always clean but a little small, very quiet area though. The breakfast was good.
Small but lovely
The staff was great, went beyond what was required. A little far from tourist attractions but nothing to stay away for. Definitely check out the restaurants around the area. Would definitely stay here again.
Hard to find location, tucked away in some residential street
Blast from the past
Classic mid-level Rome hotel. While somewhat dated, it is cosy and clean. It does feel like walking back in time. The small hotel is tucked in a quaint residential neighborhood.
No credit card accepted for taxis
Convenient location and affordable
Nice staff. Clean, comfortable, and affordable. Conveniently located
Nice hotel with Italian flavor
Hotel is close to the metro and within walking distance to St. John of the Lateran church, the coliseum and many restaurants. Would recommend!
Cosy little hotel
Basic but very clean hotel. The room was comfortable and had good facilities. Staff were very friendly. And the rooftop garden with its amazing views was lovely for a glass of wine before bed (wine and beer sold at the hotel). We were slightly disappointed that we could hear lots going on around the hotel when trying to sleep (thin walls and elevator next to our room) but this seems to happen in a lot of city hotels. Would consider staying again as overall great value for money.
15 minute walk to colloseum is a plus. one block away from the metro station is also very good. Mattress on a queen sized bed was two fulls put together. Very uncomfortable. needed a bit more cleaning under the bed - i made a mistake of looking under there to find a flock of dust bunnies
Decent price for the location
The hotel was not that great, however it is a block away from the subway station which makes it easier to get around. 15 minute walk to colosseum also doesn't hurt.
trip to rome
The hotel is located at a side street not to far from manzoni metro station. The staff cant speak much english but were polite and friendly. Hotel rooms were small, toilets were tiny too.
Nice place to stay.. Awesome holiday in Rome
Pleasant hotel and stay. Was only there for the weekend. But very close to centre. 10 min walk to the colosseum and lots of places to eat. Room was small but suited us and what we were there for as was out and about sight seeing. Easy to get to and from. Tucked away in a nice quiet street.
Nice hotel...
A good, clean hotel, location very close to the metro system. Nice roof top terrace, clean room and hotel generally clean and tidy. As a place to stay and get out and about with the center of Rome it was brilliant. Good value for the money.
Rome city break
Room was very small , but was clean, modern and tidy. Staff were friendly and helpful . Would stay here again.
Family trip
Nice small hotel , well located with friendly staff
Family trip
This 3 star hotel met my expectations, there is nothing bad I can write about the hotel, there are a couple of good restaurants and convenience stores that open until around midnight within 3 blocks from the hotel.
Not so good trip
The breakfast was not good at all. The interior is hideous.
Amazing!
The stay was amazing and would definitely return when I come to Rome again!
Great Staff - Very Dated hotel
The staff here are great & will do anything to help. After arriving we were booked in room 402 very very small so I asked for a room with a balcony which wasn't available until next day so stayed in room 101 which was a bit bigger with a view of parked motor bikes. Moved to room 306 which had a very small balcony with 1 tatty old chair & no table as did all the balconies, to open the door to it we had to push the bed back & squeeze past. For us both to sit outside we moved the dressing table chair not really ideal, with views of the back of the street. On the 5th floor was a terrace but it had no real views & you had to bring your own drinks. The breakfast was totally disappointing very old apples & oranges, cornflakes, bread & croissant butter & jams, with no nice cheeses or meats. The pictures of the hotel must have been taken 20 years ago as they bear no resemblance to how the hotel now looks which is a bit shabby to say the least. The 10 minute walk to the Colosseum turned out to be 40 mins not ideal in the heat.
We enjoyed our stay
We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived late and must have been tired so missed the turn off the main road to the hotel. In the day it is much easier to find. It is about 20 min walk from Trimini station, 2 min walk to the metro station. There is a supermarket nearby and a number of restaurants. We particularly liked a little tea place on one of the corners of the main street. Hotel staff were friendly and provided us with sound advice about Rome. We also really enjoyed the breakfast. It was a shame about the weather as it stopped us from chilling on the roof garden. There is also a safe in the room for valuables which was really useful to have when we were there.
nice hotel close to train and buses
location was fine close to train and bus links within walking distance of Coliseum.Rooms were clean, staff helpful, breakfast just right.perfect for a 3-4 day stay.
Nice hotel in a peaceful neighborhood.
My family, which includes my husband, brother, and 11 month old son, stayed here in April for 4 nights. Our stay was excellent! The room was very clean and a modest size for the 4 of us. The room had a great private balcony with an umbrella, table and chairs. All the staff of the hotel were very helpful and friendly. The hotel is in a quiet neighborhood, which was a quiet retreat away from the busy tourist places. The breakfast was modest but very filling: croissants, rolls, cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, milk, juices, and coffee. Very close to the A line Metro with several great restaurants within a short walk. I would definitely stay here again or recommend it to friends!
Good location, good staff, average property
The hotel is situated in a quiet residential neighborhood. The streets are a bit deserted, and generally doesn't feel very safe coming back at late hours. The hotel itself is not easily recognized by cab drivers. The hotel property itself is well maintained. The staff/owner concierge does a good job suggesting travel options. The biggest plus is it is connected to the subway train system. good connections to airports and tram lines. If you are looking for stay options around the coliseum, this is a great option. We were a family of 4 lugging briefcases from the metro station to the hotel, in what felt like ages. But it really wasn't all that far.
good value hotel
A pleasant 3 night stay in a nice quiet neighbourhood just outside the city close to all major landmarks. Would consider staying here if in Rome again.
Great Hotel in a Great Location
This was really a great little hotel. It's tucked away and down a street, but once you get inside, it's really pretty nice. The rooms were small, and the bathroom was tiny... but that might just be my American expectations speaking. The room was clean and a short walk to the coliseum. And for the price, you couldn't beat it.
Little disappointing
Don't know how this is a 3 star.. Good points about it is that it's right near a metro stop, and a couple stops away from main attractions with an elevator for access Negative points are poor service from staff members, really bad breakfast
Quaint
Hidden away on alley street but within walking distance of many sites in Rome. Our bathroom was an add-on to a balcony and in December was freezing cold. Room was warm and plenty comfortable. nice continental breakfast. Would recommend maybe a different room in this quaint hotel.
stay in Rome
I must say this was a good price for Rome, however, my experience here was tainted by an overflowing shower that flooded our room. It is greatly located very close to a Metro stop, but it is not a very good part of town.
Simple but good
This hotel is small, but excellent value and well located of access to the Metro and sights. Staff friendly and helpful and although the rooms are quite small they are adequate and clean and tidy. A very pleasant stay and met all our requirements.
Buyer Beware
My wife and I had an unanticipated extra night to spend in Rome and so we were looking for a hotel close to the colosseum that we would be literally using for 2 hours of sleep before heading off to the airport. Pro: It's close to the colosseum. Cons: The area in which the hotel is located is a bit shady, but most bothersome was that the advertised "airport shuttle" is simply a "private" taxi that costs more than the standard 48 euros to FCO. If you understand that going into it, and accept that you won't find much cheaper than this, you're fine.
Minimal but sufficient
The room was small and the bathroom smelt of chlorine but this was sufficient for our needs. The Metro is pretty handy and we took a ride to the Vatican and walked back across Rome. The highlight of our stay was that we had free WiFi, unfortunately it kept dropping out and each time I had to log in again.
To Rome or not to Rome.
The hotel provided adequate services for the monies spent. The continental breakfast was good. Cappuccinos and espresso were made on request but were not advertised, the machine being in another room. The maid cleaned the room daily but rehung a dirty towel and did not leave a bath mat. The shower leaked onto the floor and the water had to be mopped with a towel. The staff was very friendly and provided two recommendations for eateries. One was very good, Pizza Palacio, and the other, Roma Anticha, was poor.
Awesome family fun
Great home feeling very clean family atmosphere even though small ordinary.
Gateway to Rome
Had a very nice stay at this hotel. The room was fairly basic although we only wanted a place to rest after a busy day sightseeing. Bathroom was clean and had a good but smallish shower. Breakfast was very good, wide selection on offer and certainly set us up for a days exploring. The staff we found friendly and helpful although we did have a slight mis-understanding on arrival which was soon sorted. The hotel itself is set just off the main road in a residential area, which we found fairly quiet. The metro is 5 minutes away and is all you need to explore the main sights, you can walk to the Colosseum in about 20-25 minutes. The main station (Termini) is 2 stops away and i would recommend using the metro to transfer to the hotel as taxis are expensive.
A poor choice for us
Id made a reservation for a room for 3 so that my son and I could have our own beds. When I arrived I was given a small room for two, with the explanation that we would need to move the second of 3 nights owing to "plumbing problems.". I heard from another attendant that we were moved due to booking needs. While the first room had a balcony, the second did not. Either way, my son and I had to share a bed, rather than each of hs having our own. The final attendant tried to pacify me with a somewhat lower rate for an additional night. I was so distressed that we left for that night and went elsewhere. Worst experience that I have ever had in Rome!
Holiday
Good location. Staff could be more helpful and speak more English. Breakfast very basic and makes you feel not worth the money.
good hotel, good value
close to metro station, our room was economic that means thai it was small but it was not a problem because who will spend a lot of time at hotel being in Rome?:) and the others room are bigger, breakfast are enough to start a day, and finally hotel has a great terrace on the roof with lemon trees and lemons on them (in December)
Perfect Place for Vacationing
This hotel is close to metro and tourist sites. Staff are friendly.
Our stay in Rome
The hotel is located within a 5 minute walk from the nearest metro station and about a 15 minute walk from the Colosseum. Our hotel room was clean and comfortable. The room was small like most hotel rooms in Europe, yet adequate for the price and the little time we spent there. The rooftop patio was nice after a long day of sight-seeing. The only negative I have about our stay was regarding the WIFI. It had a poor connection and was very slow.
Good for what we wanted
Was as expected after doing research before travellng. Was sufficient fort purpose of sightseeing in Rome.
Good value
Good hotel - a little away from the action but near the Metro. Friendly and helpful reception staff but breakfast could be a little more appetising. Recommend.
ROOMS ARE SMALL
rOOMS ARE SMALL. BUT OTHERWISE GOOD. WE LIKED THIS HOTEL
Happy Camper
Great value, awsome staff!!! I arrived 2hours earlier form the check inn time and since I was already there I was given a better room since they did not have one ready for me. 100% Recommended.
Comfortable stay
Good value, tidy room and a comfortable hotel, with a lift, in a nice quiet location. Close to metro, so getting to all the sights was easy and the hotel staff were very helpful with any queries and local advice.
A Good Bargain Away from the Crowds
Not fancy, not flashy, but a good solid accommodation in a quiet neighborhood close to the Metro. Parking is on the street, but the meter cost during weekdays is 4 euros for 8 hours and the area is safe. The staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast is continental with a few extras but is quite adequate. Beds are firm. The bathroom is very nice and the shower is fine but a little cramped.
Not bad
Amenities We had no WiFi in the room and when we asked they said you can use the Internet down stairs, which was fine depends how important you regard the Internet. Location You are right on the metro and close to a supermarket but nothing is happening around this area. You need to stay around the centre of Rome which is around Termini station. We spent most of our free time wondering around there. Cleanliness Room was cleaned everyday to a good standard Staff Language is a tiny problem with a few of the staff members but the most frustrating thing was that not many of the staff knew where the closest points of interests were. Had to google them and find out for ourselves. Which again, isn't a problem but takes up time. Value In not the greatest place to stay, you could probably find better closer to the middle for cheaper but if you can't it is a good alternative. On the metro line and comfortable enough.
Desapointed
Room was way too small for what we paid ,, the safety box did not work when we got there ,somebody had to come and fixed it , the remote for the tv was downstairs had to go and get it ,no fresh towel every day they change ,it every other day and if you have to leave your suitcase downstairs they charge you 2 euro per bag .breakfast was ordinary .location was not too bad ,we travelled for 2 weeks and this is the only hotel that we were desapointed with .
Drab, dreary, bare bones
This hotel was in a lousy location. It is not at all close to the Colosseum, and it was an inconveniently long walk to Termini, the central Roman train station. There is a long, steep staircase into the hotel, and staff will not help with luggage unless you ask for it. Rooms are bare bones and small, with no amenities--our tv was not even functional. Breakfast was pretty spare. I'm pretty sure they served instant coffee, which is unusual for a country like Italy. If you're looking for an aesthetically pleasing hotel in a convenient location, this is not the place for you.
Good hotel, great location
It's a small hotel located on a quiet street. It's only 5 minute walk to the nearest metro station so it was very easy for us to get around or to connect with Termini train station. The room was clean but rather small. Bath towels could be better - those in our room passed their best. We were out sightseeing most of the time, but when we were in at night we couldn't watch any news as the TV in our room only had Italian channels! The safe also didn't work, although the hotel technician was keen to help. Free Wi-Fi is available in the reception area. In general the staff were very friendly making our stay a pleasant experience. There are various restaurants open until very late where we had dinner most nights. They are only 8-10 min walk from the hotel. There's also a supermarket nearby where we visited daily for water and fruits/snacks. All in all Novecento Hotel offered great value for money.
Great value!
This small hotel is located on a quiet street and near a metro station. The room we got was on the small side but was very clean and well managed. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They do have a public computer for customers' use but it only has Italian version, so it was completely useless to us. Breakfast was included. This does save us time and money. The roof garden was cute. We would definitely recommend this hotel to our friends if they don't have a big budget.
Vacation
It was good, the people were very nice and helpful and spoke good English. They had a person at the desk 24hrs a day. They did a breakfast in the morning and even helped us with reconfirming a day tour we had in Rome. The room was a 3 star but we understood that when we booked it. The room was plain but well furnished, The location was ok it was just off of Manzoni and within a 5 minute walk to the Metro station. It was a 15 minute walk to the Coliseum.
Helpful staff
Good location. We walked to the ruins in 20 minutes. The staff printed emails for me, called a taxi for the airport. Rooms were small but expected. Good value. Free breakfast.
Great value in Rome.
Great staff and breakfast and comfortable room and location at a great price.
Quaint hotel
We are used to the big chain hotels. Booked this one at last minute. At first wasn't sure when we got there. But once we got there we really liked it. It's small (I believe 24 rooms) and so we had the roof patio to ourselves. Nice view. Really close to Metro station which is key. Nearby is a supermarket where we stocked up on snacks and water (.30 vs 2euros in the city). Restaurants nearby too. Breakfast was included as well as wifi which was nice.
Not again
The hotel is a 2-star hotel. It doesn't seem to be far away from the inner city on the map, but it is. We had a tourist map of Rome and the hotel was just at the very edge of the map. The plus is that the subway is just a 5 minute walk away and the subway costs only 1 Euro. When we read about the hotel here on Hotels.com, it said that every room has a balcony. This is NOT true. We were 4 people and had two rooms and not one had a balcony. I tried to point this out at the reception, but they didn't understand. The room is very small, you can barely walk around the bed, and the bathroom has a thin, sliding door, ours were just at the foot of the bed. The hotel has a roof terrace, wich is nice, but it has no bar or something like that. The minibar in the room is empty, if you need anything, you have to go down to the reception to buy it. The only alcohol they have is jucky beer, red wine, and champagne. The conclusion is, don't choose this hotel, there are better hotel closer to the city with cimilar price.
Hotel Novecento not a great place to stay
This hotel is in a kind of rough looking area. I traveled with my 20 year old daughter and would not venture out after dark. The hotel is very out dated, with an actual KEY attached to a block of wood with the room number. The morning buffet was bland and basic. The location is about a mile away from the coloseum and other attractions.
In the booking it said we would have a belcony which we didn’t . Also the room gets really hot so we had to have the window open even in the winter time. The people working there was nice. And the upstairs balcony was beautiful.
Fermata metro vicina e personale gentile
Piccolo hotel tranquillo pulito comodo allla metro. Personale gentile e disponibile.
Hotel con encanto.
Por fuera es un antiguo palacete. Zona tranquila, metro muy cerca, estación Termini a 15 minutos andando. Autobuses a 5 minutos hacia el coliseo y ek Trasevere. Coliseo a 15 minutos. Muy amable el personal. Desayuno normal.
Fresch & clean
Very nice Hotel close to the city..............,,....................................... ............. ................ ...............
Bene

Property is old and dirty
