Perfect
A lovely hotel with great features including a restful garden. Didn’t eat there but many convenient stores around.
I like the building and inside but outside located at small quiet street
Great experience. Would definitely stay there again. Limited options immediately outside the property but very quiet, clean and lovely neighorhood.
Good location, very nice staff.
Very close to the station, great staff and very helpful with questions and concerns. They assisted us in booking a taxi directly to ueno station on our departure date. Very nice building and very clean.
I appreciated the humidifier and air purifier
nice hotel with good services but not the most convenient location
A clean hotel in a quiet location yet convenient to access transport and tourist attractions
Overall it was very nice! It met our needs, e.g., quiet location, proximity to train station, cleanliness, welcoming staff, etc., The minor improvement / consideration items: 1) plumbing / sewage odor - there was a very slight odor in the bathroom when the door was first opened. It dissipates, then when the door is closed it accumulates again but it didn’t make its way into the sleeping area so I didn’t make an issue of it with the front desk. 2) location - since I’m familiar with Tokyo getting to / from / around the hotel may be inconvenient for those who aren’t familiar with the train system. For the cost of the stay, there are other very good Tokyo hotels which are better for commuting. It’s a trade off of what you want, e.g., commuting convenience or quiet. 3) amenities - very eco friendly but for the cost of the stay, the quality of some of some of the products can be improved, e.g., the razor, etc.,
Superb place and hospitality. Only con that I feel is the $40 for breakfast per day if not included in your stay. Other than that, fantastic stay.
Great central spot, easy access to subway and Tokyo station. Lots of cabs out front and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Staff were so polite and friendly. Rooms and facility were lovely. Really nicely appointed rooms and common areas with everything you need. The gardens really gave the hotel a tranquil feel. We ate at the hotel for breakfast. It was a buffet style with a good assortment of freshly made food. Highly recommend on all fronts. We travelled with a 13 year old and she also enjoyed the experience.
Great location - very nice surroundings and a moden attractive place to stay. Staff are lovely. Bathroom a little dated and occasional drain smell. Train noise is close and can be intrusive.
Very nice and quiet hotel. Love the gardens. Nice staff service
Staff are always helpful. Room was always kept clean and has the amenities we needed. Location was very near the subway station and near restaurants, pharmacy and convenience store.
Very nice blend of traditional ryouken and modern hotel. The atmosphere of the hotel has this quiet, tranquility to it. The staff are very friendly and will greet you every time you enter or leave the hotel, and they will answer any queries you have with a smile. The Zen garden and terrace are small, but very nice to sir by and have tea (which is served in the evening and morning). The hotel is within walking distance to Sudaiboshi station, which isnt very far from Central Tokyo. Great restaurants around, including an edo castle and park not too far away. Would definitely recommend staying here!
A great stay. We stayed at Niwa for a week and it was great top to bottom. Location was very central to all of Tokyo and close to public transport. Ended up walking quite a bit around the local area and was pleased. It's not a touristy area-- mostly working people, so that was great. Hotel was so nice, and clean and the breakfast was great. The workers were all very nice and accommodating. Would stay here again. Lots of business travelers and a good mix of Western and Japanese environment. My only suggestion is larger hotel slippers for your Western customers. Thank you for the beautiful stay.
The property is hidden in one back street so it is very quiet. It´s a small hotel and very private. Staff was very attentive and check in and check out was easy. Overall I would stay here again. The grounds were well kept and rooms were nice and updated as well.
The front desk staff were very helpful. I was assisted with transporting luggage, knowledge about Shinkansen transport, and felt secure knowing that all my questions would be answered. Fantastic skills communicating with English speaking customers!
everything good
I truly enjoyed the Relaxation room and massage chair
Nice room
Nice room with Japanese decorations and helpful staff
Great property! Great staff
This hotel was recommended to us by a friend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. Clean, comfortable, helpful staff, and a bit of tranquility in the heart of Tokyo. Our room was exceptionally comfortable and welcoming. (I'm still trying to figure out where I can buy their hand soap!) We also really liked the surrounding area of Suidōbashi, it felt like a neighborhood rather than a more touristy area. Excellent izakayas and a few good coffee shops nearby, plus easy access to several train lines!
Very clean hotel with a nice Japanese aesthetic. The area is convenient as well and not super touristic. Would stay here again.
The hotel is in a quieter part of Tokyo but still convenient to get around the city. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The area is safe.
.
Hotel Niwa Tokyo is an absolute gem in the heart of Tokyo—a true sanctuary of comfort, elegance, and impeccable hospitality. From the moment you step into the serene lobby, you’re transported into a world of understated luxury and thoughtful design. The rooms are immaculately clean, blending traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern amenities. Tatami-style accents, soft lighting, and comfortable beds make for a tranquil retreat after a day of exploring. The deep-soaking tub in the bathroom feels like a personal spa experience—perfect for unwinding. The service is second to none. Every staff member is warm, professional, and eager to assist, offering expert recommendations for dining, attractions, and transportation. Their attention to detail truly elevates your stay. One of the standout features is the garden terrace—a peaceful oasis where you can enjoy a cup of tea or simply relax amidst lush greenery. The on-site restaurants serve a delightful mix of Japanese and international cuisine, with fresh ingredients and beautifully presented dishes. Its location is another highlight, nestled in a quiet area but still conveniently close to Suidobashi Station, giving you easy access to Tokyo’s top attractions. Hotel Niwa Tokyo is more than a place to stay—it’s an experience that combines the best of Japanese hospitality with modern comfort. I can’t recommend it enough and can’t wait to return!
Wonderful hotel with everything you need and a few marvelous surprises! We will be back next time we visit Tokyo!!
Great place. A little out of the way, but easy access to subways.
Very quiet neighborhood and very friendly staff
Did I mention those massage chairs.
Beautiful grounds greet toward the main entrance. Well appointed amenities and eager staff in assisting you with any of your needs. The tea and coffee service in the lounge is divine as well as the massage chairs across the hall. Good breakfast buffet with a broad range of options.
Off the typical tourist path yet hop on the metro and you are in the heart of Ginza in 20 minutes. In an area known for its schools, there is a college town vibe. Bookstores abound. The property is located on a quiet side street. Nicely furnished. Room is smallish but typical of what you get in Tokyo. A bit hidden behind the rowdy Tokyo Dome is Koishikawa Korakuen Garden, an overlooked treasure in Tokyo.
This was an incredible property. I love the gardens. I loved the interior, traditional Japanese decorations. I loved the massage chairs and the coffee and tea in the afternoon. Would definitely stay at this hotel again!
The hotel was in a great location close to the subway and many restaurants. The rooms are quite small.
Clean and quiet hotel near stations and with excellent staff.
Although very compact every little detail has been thought of and sorted out. Has nice restaurants in the hotel, expensive but classy. Tea time good touch. Laundry room. Even a small gym. For a hectic city like Tokyo, I’m glad I chose this hotel.
I would definitely stay here again. Very clean and friendly. It was nice to be near a train station.
Impeccable, Peaceful, Oasis
Hotel Niwa is a beautiful peaceful oasis in a HUGE bustling city like Tokyo. It is an absolute gem from the minute you enter. The thought and detail put into the breakfast, relaxation areas and rooms are outstanding. The breakfast is by far the best hotel breakfast we’ve ever had, with Japanese and western options available. Breakfast was by far our best meal while visiting Tokyo. The front desk staff are so kind, caring, and accommodating. They even packed us a to go breakfast box with an array of French pastries & breads the day we had to wake up at 5 am for a Mt. Fuji excursion. We will definitely stay here again,
Great
Excellent staff highly attentive and nice clean rooms and delicious food very good breakfast buffet
Really enjoyed this hotel. It has every little touches that make a hotel special. Very clean and with exceptional amenities. Highly recommended it.
Great location and good blend between Western and Japanese culture!
Niwa is an oasis. Highly recommended.
My favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Friendly staff, amazing amenities, and quiet, convenient location near the train stations. My favorite was the complimentary tea every night and massage chairs! I’ll stay here every time I’m in Tokyo.
It was a great experience. Stayed 11 nights. Room was great. Staff all ready nice. Close to multiple subway stations
Clean comfortable great location excellent and staff great buffet breakfast
Rate low on traveler friendliness due to surprising lack of English spoken for a premium facility in an international city; no concierge services whatsoever. Breakfast options very limited.. only huge and expensive buffet or none.
Hotel was right next to the station and very close to Akihabara. Staff was friendly and made everything a breeze. Hotel grounds were beautiful and clean. Had a great stay.
Such a relaxing place to be in the center of a busy city. Excellent breakfast buffet and great restaurants for dinner. Friendly helpful staff. Convenient to walk to 3 metro/train stations. If ever back in Tokyo Would stay here
The hotel is in a good location with plenty of nearby shops and restaurants. Transport is convenient with Suidobashi and Ochanomizu stations within short walking distances. Downsides are expensive eating in the hotel - breakfast (which is an excellent buffet) but is the only option at ¥4,000 and dinner at ¥6,800. But cafes and restaurants are nearby offering a range of meals and prices.
Western hotel comforts with Japanese essence
They have typical Japanese style small gardens beautifully presented within the building.
Wonderful hotel!
Thank you.
An absolutely beautiful hotel with with tranquil quiet spaces to relax. A relaxation room with massage chairs, afternoon tea,an amazing breakfast with Western and Japanese options, close to several subway lines. Highly recommend. Walkable to unique neighborhoods. Lots of authentic small restaurants nearby.
Lovely staff and it’s right next to transit.
What an amazing hotel and start to my Japan trip! Staff was incredibly welcoming and friendly.
Awesome Stay!
Hotel was awesome, staff very helpful and friendly, food was amazing, room fabulous!!!
The hotel was very nice in a smaller quiet way. The guest amenities were very spa-like, although we didn’t have time to take advantage of them fully. The ambiance and atmosphere was very nice - quiet, restful, meditative with small gardens and fountains where you could sit and enjoy a relaxing moment. The buffet breakfast was excellent and the dining area, while somewhat smal,l shared the same calming atmosphere.
So so wonderful!! Thank you!!
Close to the subway. Quiet neighborhood
The first room we were given was quite old (not a problem), and also very dirty, particularly the bathroom/toilet which was not clean and smelt of urine. To their credit, the staff immediately tried to remedy the issue by cleaning said bathroom and offering to move to a larger room. We accepted the offer of a larger room, but honestly this wasn’t a huge improvement. The staff were friendly and reliable throughout the stay.
I have not stayed at this hotel before. I will look forward to staying there again.
Hotel was ok, but not central. Room was also very small.
Hotel Niwa is a wonderful hotel with beautiful gardens and an incredibly kind staff (that speaks multiple languages). It is a 4 minute walk from Suidobashi station (Chip Sobu line), which makes getting around Tokyo very easy. I cannot recommend this location enough. After a long day of walking being close to a station is a gift. The location is very safe as it is near local schools and a short walk away from Jimbocho (“Book Town”), which is a cool neighborhood filled with book shops, cafes, and restaurants. For a tranquil afternoon, It’s walking distance from the Imperial Gardens. For a bit more lively night, it’s walking distance from Dome City (which does contain one of the best rooftop bars in Tokyo). My fiancé and I were thrilled without experience and would recommend Hotel Niwa to anyone visiting Tokyo.
Front desk was very helpful with luggage delivery service and general questions. Amenities were great and the room was very clean and comfortable.
Beautiful, calm and serene with exceptional service. Would happily stay here again if we return. Rooms are cozy. The lounge and other amenities are lovely.
Hôtel Niwa is excellent - it is situated in a quieter part of Tokyo yet very accessible to a number of metro stations and walkable from the anime area of Akihabara. Better access to better coffee would be nice (nespresso machine in the room ?) Otherwise can not fault it. Thank you for a great stay .
Tranquility in the middle of Tokyo.
Trees and water surrounding the hotel gives it a country feeling in the middle of Tokyo. Situated away from the main streets also makes it feel like in a country setting. The room is clean and the bed is comfortable. Try the breakfast, it is good. The staff is friendly.
Very 'zen' experience. Not thrilled with the automated check-in service... very disconnecting from customer experience. Tea and coffee happy hour is nice. rooms unexpectedly tiny
Everything was fantastic!!
Hotel Niwa is tucked away on a quiet street near public transportation. Its staff is friendly and accommodating and its facilities are top class. Offers a wonderful breakfast.
In convenient location, few min walk to subway and train station s. Breakfast is very good.
The staff are incredibly bellflower. Relaxation rooms include freshly prepared pressed coffee or Japanese tea, another room with massage chairs. Working washers and dryers do the job well. Staff help with booking other excursions and with taxis. They are so very patient.
Hotel was awesome and was pretty close to everything once we had someone show us train systems.
Great choice in central Tokyo
Great location, good food, nice amenities, wonderful friendly service.
Nice Japanese atmosphere. Conveniently located near the Tokyo Dome. Perfectly central Tokyo with access to every other area of the city.
Great place to stay
Great customer service free water bottles for guests. They can add a pick up/ drop off service to Tokyo airport . Current option they offer is to go to another hotel to take a bus. This is not possible when we have lots of bags to move from one place to another
The management was extremely helpful and solved our issue with professionalism and was very courteous. The hotel itself is an excellent product. The amenities on the 3rd floor are wonderful. The relaxation room has massage chairs, the outdoor garden patio room is very calming, and the there is a washer and dryer on the premises. The rooms are large and the beds are extremely comfortable.
Hotel niwa is centrally located with easy access to all transportation. The staff is hospitable. The included breakfast includes both Japanese and western cuisine and is incredibly extensive. Also the two restaurants Japanese and quasi French are on the high end. Also lots of choices in the close surrounding area. Highly recommend this hotel for your stay in central Tokyo.
Excellent location. Everything is a short taxi ride away. Hotel is extremely clean and building is very nice overall. Nice neighborhood as well. Room is small (by USA standards) but well appointed. Highly recommend. I stayed to 3 nights while visiting Tokyo.
Good amenities, good rooms, and great service. Thank you!
This hotel really depends on what you plan on doing in Japan. Tokyo was our main destination for a week, and we wanted to call this our home base. Shinjuku, Shibuya, Ginza, Harajuku, Akihabara, Asakusa, were all about 20-25 mins by Taxi. So staying at Hotel Niwa in Chiyoda seemed like a smart and centralized home base for us. The hotel IS clean, quiet, fairly priced, staff are friendly, and the neighborhood is fun with some pretty good local eats. Just know where you are going, and where you want to stay in Tokyo.
Perfect little oasis near Tokyo! Friendly and relaxing atmosphere. I highly recommend this hotel.
Exceptional staff always willing to help. Very clean and safe property.
Hotel Niwa was our final stop after a lots of hectic moving around Japan, and it felt like entering a spa. The facilities are impeccable and clearly appreciated by customers (massage chairs in particular!). As two friends travelling together, we appreciated the luggage caddy. The bathroom was tidy and had lots of toiletries if you forgot anything. The neighbourhood was calm and pristine, but had top tier food options that ranged from inexpensive to higher end, and the hotel provided a list of their suggested restaurants and closest convenience store locations. I was skeptical of the list but tried a few spots and was truly blown away. As others have noted, the check-in process felt very tedious compared to other places, but once settled, the space and service were seamless. If you are looking for hustle and bustle, the area only comes alive on weekends, but has plenty to explore during the week and many things are transit friendly or very walkable—I appreciated staying somewhere that had a local feel and left me decompress. It’s dangerous to stay at a place where it’s too cozy to leave!
Love this place
This place was wonderful. The essence of Japanese Culture was captured inside and out. I enjoyed the outdoor areas for meditation and quiet. The staff friendly and helpful, the restaurants 5 star. A must if you are in Tokyo.
Clean and quiet
Great Community Amenities
Community amenities were beautiful with a roof top, zen garden, and an open space to read or get work completed. The staff was very helpful and kind throughout our stay. We also successfully did luggage forwarding to this hotel with no issues. Not sure if it's just our room, but the bathroom did not smelled musty throughout our entire stay.
Would definitely stay again
Good quality room but it’s too tiny for two pax in a standard double room.
Rooms a bit small, but I think that is typical for tokyo. Excellent staff, service and great neighborhood.
The staff was great, the ambiance was wonderful. The rooms are small but comfy. The neighborhood was very quiet and near the subway.
Just wonderful nothing to say more
The hotel is out of the high tourist areas, so it was nice and quiet; however, it was not so far you couldn't get on the train or walk. The hotel was nice, but the standard 2 twin size room was a tad small for two people, but it was only used for sleeping and bathing so no issues. I would definitely book with them again.
Amazing staff, quiet part of Tokyo, peaceful traditional garden, clean room and very close to transportation.
I liked the location, amenities, and all staff were extremely helpful. The one thing I did not like was the black mold growing in the shower head in the bathroom.
The gardens in multiple locations were very nice
