The hotel was comfortable and convenient. All staff were polite and professional. Had a lovely time.

The hotel was beyond our expectations. The staff was extremely helpful, friendly, polite, and multilingual. The room was clean, with updated bathroom and spacious. The proximity to our interests was perfect. We enjoyed the stationed breakfast.

We loved Patrick at the front desk.

The staff is very friendly. A plus is breakfast in the room if you request it. The location is very pleasant and close to tourist points of interest.

An elegant hotel located in an ideal location for exploring Rome. Staff were extremely helpful and our room was very well equipped and comfortable. A great choice!

Roberta at the front desk was so helpful with recommendations and directions. Great location for walking to Trevi fountain and the Pantheon. Our door lock was some what loose and if pushed hard enough would open, but otherwsise the room was wonderful. Our room looked right onto the square.

It is a very nice hotel, a proper 4* at its best. Very good location, beautiful interior, good size rooms, proper air conditioning, good breakfast and nice well trained stuff. Will comeback.

Being our first stay in Rome, we could not have picked a better hotel. The location is terrific, the breakfast was amazing and the staff graciously held our luggage on checkout day so we could continue to tour before our train to Florence.

Rome Get Away

We could not ask for anything more. The staff took excellent care of our every need. The location is absolutely perfect for getting around. I could not imagine a better choice for a Rome vacation.

The hotel was truly fabulous. Staff so friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, luxurious and clean, and the breakfast was amazing. Location was perfect, close to major monuments. I would definitely recommend this hotel, and would stay here again without a doubt.

The hotel is located at the very heart of Rome, walking distance to many attractions - Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and many others. The room was well decorated, clean and neat. We had an excellent breakfast every morning which carried us through the first half of the day. The personnel was polite and friendly. We highly recommend the hotel for anybody visiting Rome.

Superior staff

Beautiful hotel in great location to walk everywhere! Especially Patrick went out of his way so helpful to get us tickets to Easter service at the Vatican to get the last blessing from the pope. Thank you forever Patrick and all the wonderful staff at the beautiful hotel

Very clean and nice the Concierge’s were the best and helpful. Our room had a view and the breakfast was included. The food was so good. I would definitely stay there again while in Rome a great location.

We had a great time! Salvatore was so nice and upgraded our room. The hotel location is perfect, close to everything.

Disappointing stay for multiple reasons. DO NOT STAY HERE. You can get much better options at these price points and location. - no AC even though it was boiling in the room. I don’t care that they have a rule of no AC until end of April etc. Just trying to save money. - whole hotel is stuck in the 1970s in terms of aesthetics and quality - and not in a charming, purposeful way - related to the above, do NOT believe the website pictures - sheets were itchy to the point where I thought there were bed bugs - shower area is a clear serious safety hazard; it’s a super elevated tub that you need to jump into and out of - no drinking water in the room; expect us to buy water - no drinking water at the reception; said “go get it from the kitchen when it opens” (!) - locker wasn’t working - thin walls / doors; you can hear conversations from next door - I asked for a cab to be called, and they called an expensive limo service instead of a regular taxi. Not sure if the hotel gets a commission from the limo company but quite ridiculous - not hotel’s fault, but location is not all that convenient - it’s nested next to a large govt building which is blocked off

Loved pretty much everything. Crowds were loud at night but that’s my only negative to list and that’s really not the hotel’s fault.

Good location right next to Parliament. Room was nice but not exceptional. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and helpful. Walkable to lots of attractions and shopping.

Great location to explore Rome. The staff was great but the property is a little outdated—but good value.

This feels more like a motel than a 4 stars hotel. Only the location is good. Everything else needs an overhaul. The whole bathroom needs a damn renovation because it looks disgusting and smells even worse. Molds, cracked floor, broken sink, ancient toilet, to name a few problems. They are also stingy with the towels. I had to ask for more towels everyday cuz they didn’t leave enough in the room. Breakfast buffet was okay, lots of options but quite mediocre. The breads didn’t taste good. The containers for some of food were broken and they didn’t bother to fix them. So many problems I can’t name them all. I like the location but will probably look for another hotel the next time I visit Rome.

Cant say enough good things about our stay. Staff was amazing, Francesco the bartender is an awesome guy. everyone was super friendly to my family. Very well kept hotel and in a great location. would definitely stay again.

We were very comfortable in our room. Our room had a couch in it as well which was a great touch for us to spread out. Everything was clean! There was a lot of police around due to the government building next door but not to the point you think its a "ghetto" or unsafe hotel/area. There is so much around and easy to walk anywhere. Cars cannot drive around in the piazza the hotel is located in so its very quiet. We enjoyed our stay very much- grazie mille!

Perfect location, good breakfast, kind staff, highly recommend this hotel and willing to revisit.

Overall, a decent hotel, but not great. The rooms are very dated, bedding not soft at all and pillows as flat as a pancake. The breakfast was delicious with good gluten free options! Again, a decent stay but wouldn't choose again for the price.

Fantastic experience!!

Beautiful hotel, was conveniently located near all the major attractions. Good restaurants near hotel, very well maintained rooms, free morning breakfast was very good. Happy with our stay, only negative was trying to get Ubers to pick us up directly at the hotel.

Except for two staff members, most of the employees behave strangely, almost like prison guards. They treat guests as if they are staying there for free or have no other choice. This is especially true for the staff, whose behavior is particularly unusual.

Second time staying here in Rome! Service was terrific and staff is so welcoming. Cozy bed and all the comforts of home. Thank you for a great holiday!

A wonderful place to stay while in Rome. Central location, quiet, and safe. Reception staff is friendly and helpful. Mr Patrick was amazing, personal, and a pleasure to chat with.

5 stars as always for our 5th stay!

Last week was our 5th stay in the past 9 years at the Nazionale, and we'll never stay at another Rome property. This historic property is in the heart of the central historic district, includes great views from many rooms, includes an incredible full daily breakfast and an incredible English speaking staff, many with over 20 years of service here. In fact, many of the staff remembered us from prior stays and called us by our names during our entire stay. 5 stars for us and forever in our hearts...

A lovely hotel in superb position. Easy to walk to all main attractions & lots of lovely places to eat. Our deluxe rooms were spacious, very clean & overlooked the square which was lovely. Staff both on reception & in the breakfast room were friendly & attentive. Would definitely recommend this hotel & would definitely come again.

Great location, feels super safe with the parliament literally next door and easy to walk everywhere. Great breakfast which was a pleasant surprise. Service was mixed, some staff super helpful but others didn’t seem to care. Overall would come back.

Property is convent to all the sites. The only negative is the bedding is very hard.

Front desk staff is world class

The location was perfect during our stay in Rome. The hotel was at most 20 mins walk from all the iconic landmarks and we did not have to purchase any metro tickets. The only time we had to take public transportation was taking the bus going to the Vatican. A big shoutout to the friendly staff, especially Patrick! He helped us out so much and our family was so lucky to have been helped by him. Will definitely recommend friends and family who are visiting Rome to stay here.

Lovely, large room with a view overlooking Piazza Montecitorio, which features one of the 13 obelisks of Rome. The government building (designed by Bernini) overlooking the square meant there was a police presence and also that evenings were quiet, which made for a good night's rest. Although the square was quiet itself, the location was excellent, a very easy stroll to the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, and lots of reataurants and shops. The perfect location for a quiet and peaceful stay while still being in the middle of it all.

The hotel is in walking distance of many sights in Rome. Near Trevi fountain. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was updated and very comfortable. We could open a window and look out on the piazza. The breakfast is wonderful. Excellent breads and pastries along with great coffee choices. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a place you can walk to see much of Rome.

Roman Holiday

Spent 11 days, Staff was great, helpful, communication was easy, we don't speak Italian, great location, we walked everywhere. If you don't walk, access to the hotel is problematic since it sits on the piazza where the Parliament Building is also located, and autos are not allowed. All in all, great location though.

This is a great property to walk to The Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, Spanish steps, many shops and restaurants. The hotel is near the parliament so there are guards around and that made us feel safe.

I loved every thing about this lovely hotel. Staff was so very friendly, professional and helpful. Beautifully located to many landmarks. We were surprised at how many lovely stores for shopping were close by. And a one minute walk to a fabulous restaurant, Belladonna!

This hotel was very beautiful on the first floor. Reception and bar were lovely. Our room looked like it hadn’t been decorated in 50 years or from a flea market. Decor was very worn and disappointing.

Excellent Hotel..great location..the food all around the hotel was excellent especially BellaDonna..very safe, and the complimentary breakfast buffet was amazing!..highly recommend!

Great staff. Excellent location. Thin walls, so you hear others within the hotel. But it’s a very well located and clean place to stay, with friendly staff. Have stayed before and would go again in the future.

A great stay in the heart of rome

The location was amazing. It is definitely the best and most important characteristic of the hotel. Close to many small authentic streets with many restaurants. In the center and close to all the main attractions. We walked everywhere and did not use public transportation or taxis at all! The staff were very helpful and kind. Our room was quite spacious, I think larger than most in the center of room. The bed and pillows were comfortable. Must mention there was no coffee maker in the room, there was a tea-pot. The bathroom was rather old, the shower small. But everything worked ok. The cleanliness was good but not amazing. The door was not very good at noise isolation, we could hear very well if someone opened and closed a door near us, however we were in the end of the hallway, so doors closing was rather rare. If you are sensitive to noise- might be best to ask for a room at the end of the hall. The window noise isolation was good- we hardly hear anything from the outside. The breakfast was basic, but I think better than general in Rome. The coffee at breakfast was good. I would stay here again!!

Excellent location, walking distance to shopping areas, dining, pantheon, etc. It’s next to a government building so it’s always quiet and safe. Breakfast option is excellent. Will recommend to anyone.

Best location and the property condition

I liked the fact that this hotel was vintage! Loved that I could just walk out the front door and walk to restaurants and shopping. The staff were so nice and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic!! It was I bit expensive but well worth it. 👍

2nd stay at hotel nazionale

This is the second time we visited Rome and stayed at the Hotel Nazionale. Eleven years later we still found the hotel to be great, friendly, helpful and the quality has remained top. The hotel is clean and the staff work hard to keep everything nice.

A very unique property in the heart of Rome. It is on the plaza in front of the parliament building. Our room was facing the plaza, and was spacious and airy - unlike out prior experiences in Rome. Although the property is very old and a little tired, it was clean, the room was large, and the Staff was helpful. Complementary breakfast was very good. Easy walking access to all of the sites of Rome.

Fabulous Hotel

An overnight stay, received an upgrade to a deluxe room which was beautiful. Customer service was excellent and the breakfast was too. The location is perfect for sightseeing.

Hotel Nazionale is very high quality in an excellent location. It’s close to many of the main attractions in Rome. Pros: - Walking distance from most attractions - Helpful and friendly staff - Safe location with the police station nearby - High quality included breakfast Cons: - The room sizes vary significantly. Ours barely enough space around the bed to move around. We were tripping all over our luggage. - It can be a bit loud outside at night

Great hotel with professional staff, beside national government center. Accommodating and helpful. Easy location and felt very secure. Tasty breakfast with many options. We are booked to stay again in a few weeks.
