Hotel was perfectly suitable in a very convenient area.
I liked that it is very close to the train station... which is very convenient. Even though it is close to the station it is not noisy. The room was a nice size and the bed which was a queen size was very comfortable. The bathroom was a nice size.
Very close to a train station which is very amazing
Nice…
Price good, Noise bad
The price was good for the room, I stayed 10 days, the customer service was great, the cleaning staff were friendly, however, its next to the train station and if you are on the side facing the train statiion, it is loud, there is also this constant water draining noice that goes on day and night, I have no idea what it is from but 3 other family members had their own rooms and they also had the same water drainage sound, it was not good, if you are a light sleeper, I DO NOT recommend with that noise plus the noise of the train station. I personally will not be back there, the other rooms opposite the train station were not bad however still had the same water drainage sound, it was so annoying as I am a light sleeper, but if you can sleep through anything then this place is for you.
I love the mattress! Best of all!
Small room, perfect everything else. Right next to a rail station. Plenty of options to eat as well.
My stay with this property was amazing. Accommodate my last minute request. Staff was super friendly. During my stay I stay here multiple times everything is great. Surroundings are excellent station close to the hotel multiple options for shopping and dine in. Just incase wanna try hands on pachinko it's next to hotel
Need more on room cleaning
na
For me, it was a little noisy from trains. The overall was good.
No frills but very decent and super convenient. Can be noisy since near train station and construction. I have stayed here a number of times, and quite content
The hotel staffs were very nice and hotel great.
This hotel was in a perfect area, near lots of dining, shopping, and the train station! The staff was super friendly and accommodating. My only complaint was the room was a little hot throughout our stay but overall everything was wonderful.
amazing location that is close to major train lines. convenient grocery shopping and banking in the area
Good location for dinning and shopping. Close to the satation.
Great Location,Great place to stay,Can’t wait to come back to Japan
Comfortable and good value
Clean and nice hotel, overall. But the rooms are TINY. The bed was comfortable. Try not to get a room facing the tracks, it's abit noisy because the trains are running all the time. the windows are hard to open. The staff is super nice and helpful. The neighborhood is packed with restaurants and the hotel is in front of a major Yamanote train station.
Pro: Right next to the train station. Con: Right next to the train station. The building doesn’t seem to have very good soundproofing as I was able to hear the trains going past every few minutes. That being said, staff were kind enough to accommodate my request to switch rooms due to the noise. The rooms are very small (very difficult to manoeuvre with luggage) and a little outdated, however if you’re only staying for a night or two, it shouldn’t bother you. If you’re on a budget, this is a great option as it’s only 10 minutes by train to Shibuya.
The rooms are very small but comfortable enough. Good bedding, and relatively clean. The old ventilation system means the bathrooms can be musty at times, but the location is really convenient. Close to the JR and Underground lines, with lots of dining options nearby. Gotanda isn’t really a destination in itself, but it’s perfect for those looking for somewhere central but not overcrowded. I would always prefer to stay here over one of the big areas like Shinjuku or Shibuya, which are both only about 10mins away on the JR line. Overall I one of the best value options in Tokyo when considering price and access to the central Tokyo area.
Thank you everyone
.
Very close to subway/metro and train station. A lot of food stores, shopping stores in the area. Room was clean and cozy. Its size was adequate for 2 persons. Washing and drying machines were available in the hotel (200 yen/each wash load; 100 yen/30 minutes of dryer).
Convenient close to station
Clean and in the perfect area.
The room size with single bed was a bit small and no real space to layout a suitcase. Washroom was likewise tight, with need to prop the door open.
Very convenient location, across the street from train line. Lots of food, bars, and other fun/party locations near by for fun activities and a don Quixote. Recommend for a one night stay if you are looking for a budget hotel to crash at during travel. Located between shibuya and Shinjuku. 30 min train ride with a transfer from Haneda. Small rooms but is to be expected in Tokyo.
Location is convenient
Terrible. My room was on the top floor facing the train station just across the street. The noise of the passing train was unbearable. Asked to changed to another room but was told the hotel was full.
Room too small with cigarette smell(I reserved non-smoking room). Bathroom ventilation not working. It’s a okay hotel for short staying. Great location
Convenient and perfect for a minimalist
Nice business hotel close to the station. Small but comfortable and affordable room that encourages you to get out and see the sites.
Good and nice hotel in the good areas and easy to commute in main Tokyo
Convenient location for a decent price
The rooms are standard for Japanese business hotels. Location is great and the property was clean and well kept. Staff is excellent. If you're a runner, the hotel is close to the Megiro River, which is great for a morning run. Not a room that you would hang out in as it's small, but on a budget it does the job.
It is really close to the JR Gotanda Station. but It is kind of hard to see Hotel sign and easy to miss. Room was Ok enough to stay for the night. Location was exelent.
Smelly hallways and rooms
Good location with easy access to public transportation just outside the hotel. Convenient store just next to it and many dining options around.
Great experience! My friend sent the small package to the hotel but she accidentally sent the same group hotel but different address but they were able to find out my name and sent it to me. What a wonderful experiences that I had with them. Thank you
Very convenient location . Staff friendly and helpful. Rooms are small, but we only slept there so no problem . Close to Gotanda Train Station and subway just steps from hotel. A lot of good restaurants across the street and convenient store close by. I would stay here again
Very good value for money
The breakfast buffet is the healthiest I ever had . No fancy lobby but our room was very clean and well insulated, amenities were adequate. Everyone was helpful and smiling. And a very short walk to the train station as well as food shops and restaurants. It exceeded my expectations and will definitely recommend it to family and friends.
Great location, good value.. breakfast only from 7-9... should be from 7-10 at least and for sure on a Saturday
Great front desk staff.
Clean, convenient.
My room was close to JR railway and it was extremely noise. Even there was an earplug prepared in the room. I used this hotel many times and it was the worst and unbearable.
Next time, I will be stay here
Very good location Subway steps away. Gotanda Station across the Street. Many good restaurants close by. Family Mart Lawson's and 7 11 close by Rooms were quite.
I stayed at the hotel for 8 nights and was very pleased. It's clean, located in a very convenient location, and the staff are great. I speak some Japanese but they were willing and able to use English as needed. The only downsides are (1) rooms are modest in size, as is true of all Tokyo business hotels, but I found it perfectly adequate. (2) Location right next to the train station is convenient but there is noise from the trains - not bad but if you need absolute quiet it's not the best choice
not fancy but solid, restaurant is pretty basic, but the location is great, and staff was very good
This place is pretty run down. Not the nicest property to stay at. It is very convenient for the subway but staff is terrible. I requested a non smoking room and they placed me in a smoking room and I have major allergies. They said the room I booked didn’t have any non smoking so I would have to upgrade. I paid an additional amount for every night I was there to be in an “upgraded non smoking room”. Then the room I was placed in was only available 2 of the 3 night stay so I had to change rooms which meant checking out at 11 and checking back in at 3pm. The last night they put me in a wheel chair accessible room so I had a tub and no shower head like the first room. They never told me yet I still paid for the upgrade. It was just a mess overall. Unfortunately I do not recommend this place.
Room is too small. Hit the stuff is very nice. Usually, the restaurant was clouded and unavailable
It can be cleaner.. Inside the room had a musty smell. I started to have headaches. I asked if there was dehumidifier function in AC, but they didn't. The laundry area seemed not been taken care of. I am sorry to leave negative reviews but this place can be improved. I guess not enough housekeeping staffs?
The hotel is perfectly fine and the staff is helpful. The cleaning crew was confused about the "Eco-friendly" cleaning plan so that caused several visits to the front desk. The room is typically Japanese small and the air from the AC is super cold. The hotel seems pretty old and has areas where the floor tiles are broken into pieces, etc. On the upside it has a free washer/dryer room which is super handy.
Hotel was great for the price. Yes, the room was small even though I got the more expensive and slightly larger room meant for two people. I was a solo traveler so it was perfect for me. The bathroom was a bit tight for my 6 ft. self(183 cm) but it is doable. I hit my head a few times because the ceiling above the shower/water controls is a bit lower. Water pressure and temps were very good. Toilet had Japanese style water spray system but I didn’t use it. You can control the air conditioner in the room. Laundry room works well and is free to use but you need to buy your own detergent. I really had no major complaints staying here but I did wish the blackout curtains went all the way to the floor instead of just below the windows. The sunlight still gets through the bottom. Great area away from the tourists but it was still quite busy with locals. Restaurants around here can get busy during lunch/dinner time but it’s not as crazy as Shibuya, Shinjuku or other major tourist spots. There’s plenty of shops here too. The station is very close by and you have access to the JR Yamanote train and the TOEI Asakusa subway line. Subway can take you directly to Asakusa and the Skytree(Oshiage). It also can take you to both airports but it’s a bit complicated to explain here. Of course, Yamanote is one of the main tourist lines and you have easy access here because Gotanda station is small. There’s also access to the Ikegami train line but I never used it. Enjoy your trip!
Overall not a bad hotel for the price. For overseas visitors the rooms will likely be surprisingly small, but if you’re only concerned about convenience and a relatively comfortable bed then it’s a good option for a central Tokyo location. There are a lot of good restaurants nearby and it’s only 2mins walk from the station. However, of all the Mystays hotels I’ve stayed in, I found the staff here to be the least friendly. They are quite robotic and inflexible to deal with compared with their colleagues at other properties. In summary, if budget and location are key for you, and you’re not concerned about space or service then this is a relatively good option.
Located next to Gotanda station.
Clean and food was great!
This is not a tourist area but it’s still bustling with locals. The nearby Gotanda JR station(Yamanote) is small and simple to navigate, but it can get quite busy during peak times, nothing crazy though. It’s nice if you want to avoid the craziness of bigger stations like Shibuya or Tokyo station. You also have access to the Asakusa TOEI subway line, which can take you directly to Asakusa and the Skytree(Oshiage sta.). There are plenty of food options nearby and they’re all very walkable. There are convenience stores and drug stores well within reach. There’s a nice supermarket on the other side of the station. It’s located in a small mall with other shops and restaurants. The hotel is pretty decent for the price. The standard (cheap) rooms are quite small but that’s the norm for Tokyo at this price range from what I’ve researched. The bathrooms are small but useable. The staff was friendly and could speak English. If you arrive early, you can leave your luggage in the lobby until it’s time to check in. Overall, this is a great hotel and great area if you prefer to stay in a quieter area. It’s quiet but still very lively. Safe travels!
Great location, pleasant, but very small rooms.
Easy to take the subway. Family mart is located next to the lobby.
Excellent choice for visiting Tokyo as it located right around the corner of Gotanda Station.
The staff/cleaning personnel are wonderful. One suggestion is to bring your own toilet paper if coming from the United States. The hotel uses very thin one ply recycled toilet papers.
Great location everyone was helpful
It was amazing!
Location, Location, LOCATION!! Perfectly situated off the JR Yamanote line, easy access to all of Tokyo.
No complaints. The hotel met all my requirements when traveling to Japan.
The room was too small to accommodate us. I am claustrophobic and had to have my room changed in the middle of the night because of the level of seizures I was having. The water pressure in the shower was so weak that it was like staying in a hotel in a developing country. I would like to commend the female staff at the front desk for being first rate and courteous. However, I would never recommend this hotel. Is this what you expect from a hotel run by an investment fund?
Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for our purposes.
Small but nice.
Convenient, next to station, clean and nice. Small room, but that's life in Tokyo!
Everything about stay at Gotanda for 10 days was fantastic. However, since my room was at the end of the hall, my wifi connection was horrible. I couldn’t even use it at all.
Wonderful place to stay, would recommend.
The room was lovely, had bath and shower, also laundry on site and the staff was super helpful. There's a convenience store right outside the front door and it's a block away from the subway station. So many food options all over too.
Great for single travelers, since it is a business hotel. The room was cramped but clean. I had a room that was over a pipe so early in the morning i would hear dripping. Since i was on the opposite side of the train station, it wasn't as noisy. Would recommend to book a room opposite of the train station if you want quietness.
There was power outage at 6 am. Hotel didnt bother to explain what was going on and there was no one speaking English when trying to reach out. It was very scary, I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
Great location
Amazing location but service is different now. No room setvice daily and they charge for it. I think you get 1 service per week
Though the single room is a bit small but nice staff and perfect location. Only 1 min walk from Gotanda station. It's very important, especially when you carrier your luggages. Restaurants also close by. Will definitely stay again.
Excellent service The ventilation window on the toilet ceiling has some dust, could be cleaned very crowded room, we need time to adjust to the very crowded room Thank you!
Basic hotel: not luxurious, but clean.
I liked how it was very close to the station. The staff was all very nice. I noticed that my room wasn’t as clean as I would have liked it to be when I first got in (the shower and bathroom area was a bit dirty). The washer and dryer on-site didn’t dry my clothes well and I don’t think it’s managed well. There were always clothes on the small seats from other people and it looked like it was left there for more than 3 days.
The location of this hotel was excellent. After getting off the train it’s nice to just walk across the street and be at the hotel. Being right on the Yamanote line perfect for getting around tokyo easily and it’s not a ridiculously crowded or huge station. Family mart at the hotel lobby is perfect to buy water and snacks after getting back or heading out. We had a deluxe twin room which was huge by Japan standards though my friends had a different type and it was really small. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again.
Noisy hotel
Convenient location, other than that, don’t expect much. I stayed in this chain hotel before, so I know what to expect. But this one in gatanda, the room was very noisy. Noise from here and there, such as water pipe? AC or refrigerator. I don’t know. I shut off my fridge and tried to avoid using AC, but there’s always random noise from machines or this building. Kinda bothering my sleep. Hotel is kinda old and abused.
overall it was a good experience and I would come back again
GREAT LOCATION!
Convenient location
Right off the JR station. Very convenient. Hotel staff are trained with foreign visitors. Very accommodating. Typical compact hotel. Air conditioning can be improved but at least you can crack the window open.
big room and pricing
2 days stay on a family trip
Try he location of the hotel is just across the street from a JR Yamamoto line (五反田). With a 24 hrs convenient store attached to it is also a great plus. Staff is friendly and helpful. Room is considered big in Tokyo 's area. It's also a plus with washer and dryer in the building. The one major problem I had was the Central AC which I have no control over my room. Our first night the room became too warm. We finally figured out how to open the window on the second night, but the noise of car and train got loud until after midnight. Still, for the price and location, this is a great place to stay. Would highly recommend.
Very clean hotel, family friendly.
Very clean, friendly staff, good size room, and convenient store access 24/7. Good for families.
It’s in a great location. Good transport options. Not far from Ebisu, Shibuya, Harajuku/Omotesando and Shinjuku.
Good location and clean room!
Ok
Not at all quiet or soundproof !!!
Price for location is good. Staff is good. Covid measures are good. One big issue, my room 817 was not at all soundproof. I was hearing sound of water flows from shower/toilet/air conditioner from all the surrounding rooms ALL THE TIME. Seriously impacted my work and sleep. Hotel has been built without soundproofness in mind.
