Perfect spot to see Rome
Very lovely hotel. Really appreciated close proximity to Vatican and wonderful shops and restaurants
Very nice hotel next to Vatican
It was literally at tge entrance of vatican museums. Couldn't be any closer. We stayed tgere in April 2025. Tge rooms got quite hot in the nught. No a/c controls. Expect tge rooms to be small..not an issue ffor us.
No face cloths when I asked for some. Thé breakfast à waste of money, it was horrible. Thé scrambled eggs looked like they were left over from the previous day and were dried up and cold. Thé beans looked ok but were cold. The weiners were dried out and cold, thé bacon was cold and was floating in grease, fried dark dark to a crisp and hard to chew and cold. Thé cold cuts ham and chicken were sticky and were not fresh, leftovers. After the second day I bought 2 tomatoes and had a tomato sandwich with their bread. My husband had cereal which he enjoyed but for someone with allergies to nuts I wouldn’t take a chance on eating thé cereal. I wouldn’t recommend buying the breakfast for 20.00. There are a lot of restaurants nearby to have a beautiful breakfast and for cheaper. Location is very good, front desk staff were very helpful, friendly and professional.
Such a quaint and charming property …accessible to shopping dining and the Vatican. Staff were pleasant and kind
Staff
Property is very close to the Vatican
Great location, many good food choices nearby, same with shopping, great for rome
Front Desk staff awesome
Lovey and convenient!
Everyone was wonderful and very attentive. Just a few small problems with the charging stations in the room so make sure you bring your own converters and charging things. On the other hand, was super convenient for our tour of the Vatican. Walked right out the door and there they were!
I arrived in Rome on a night flight and greatly appreciated the convenience of being able to check in during the early hours of the morning. Additionally, the hotel provided valuable information in advance via email regarding major attractions in Rome that require reservations, as well as arranged transportation to the hotel, which was immensely helpful. The bed was impeccably clean and comfortable, and the room temperature was well-regulated. As is common in many European hotels, amenities such as slippers, toothpaste, a toothbrush, and a comb are not provided, so I would recommend bringing your own. The hotel's proximity to the Vatican Museums is highly advantageous, and there are numerous excellent cafés and restaurants in the vicinity. I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay and would be delighted to return. The only suggestion I would make is to mitigate the slightly slippery shower booth floor to enhance guest safety.
Recomendado!
Hotel is very dated. I'd say not been updated a since the 1970s. That said it was clean and the the staff were very friendly . No tea/coffee facilities in the room is a big let down
Rooms are small but clean
My favorite hotel in Rome
This is my second time here. I love this hotel and not just because of location (less than 5 minutes to Vatican Museums) but also because the staff is always friendly, courteous and professional. WiFi works great, room has TV and refrigerator. The shower has good water pressure and plenty of hot water The mattress and pillows are rather firm. Breakfast is 10 Euros and good, plenty of food and a coffee machine for any type of coffee you want.
Great location with access to subway and Vatican Museums. Lots of restaurants and not too touristy.
I was comfortable and the location is amazing. A few blocks from the basilica di san pietro and one block from the capella sistina
I recently stayed at museum hotel , and overall, it was disappointing. The only positive aspect was the location—it’s conveniently close to the Vatican, which made sightseeing easy. However, the beds were extremely uncomfortable, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. For the price I paid, I expected much better quality. The accommodations felt overpriced for what was offered, and it was clear that comfort wasn’t a priority. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless location is your only concern. Otherwise, you’re better off looking elsewhere for better value and comfort.
Great staff especially the front desk, Always responsive and so helpful. I came from Canada and I must say with out a doubt I will definitely stay here again. The location is close to all the main attractions and staff willing to help you in any possible way … what else can you ask for ! Thanks again to the staff in making my stay so memorable. Nick
they're very helpful and accommodating
The hotel is nice. The only problem is it’s too tight. but it good for its worth. Staffs are very friendly and very knowledgeable about the way around the area. This is walking distance to Jollibee (which made me really happy) a very famous Filipino restaurant chain. There’s a lot of good local restaurants as well near it. Right beside the Vatican museum and It’s near to subway and bus stops. I would recommend it if you’re only staying for a short time . I stayed here for 2 days only.
Great spot
Staff was vwry lovely and kind.
Great staff and good location to the vatican.
Good good
Receptionist was very rude and give me hard time with check in. I have to paid extra city taxes after booking at check out. It was very cold at night and the heating system is not working cause some city green deal rules. Room outdated. One good thing was closed to Vatican and main attractions.
for Vatican tours!! Across the street. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable. Good selection of restaurants nearby — easy walking distace.
Poor facities and condition, our room is warm and the airconditioning is not working. We need to open the window for the air but it will be noisy for the traffic. No kettle in the room if you need a hot drink during the night.
Single mom was cramped, after 2 nights I moved to double room and it was double the size.
The lobby looks absolutely nothing like the lobby pictured on Expedia‘s app. I had a single room for two nights, and you could barely turn around the last night. I had to change rooms. I had to pack everything up myself, move everything down to the lobby come back in the afternoon and they gave me the room directly next-door. That was a double room so much more spacious
I would have appreciated being informed ahead of booking that there would be no air conditioning in my room during my stay.
Thank you Museum, staff are excellent, food is good . Gratuity.
This was. A perfect spot if you want to be near the Vatican! While hotel is dated like almost all European hotels, it was within a 12 min distance to St. Peter’s Square, had multiple dining options that were literally around the corner, and the staff were all super nice and spoke English. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay again. Downside was hard beds and the ac doesn’t blow cold, but that is pretty much everywhere in Europe so I wouldn’t deter a visit due to that.
Room too small
Very nice well situated hotel close to Vatican
Everything was perfect! Grazie mille!
Good hotel, convenient location, fairly clean, very comfortable bed and pillow
Very clean. Great location. Very helpful n friendly staff. Loved the key card to turn on/off lights. My Real concern was the slippery shower floor. I was terrified to move when showering.
Great property convenient to the Vatican. Overall. A nice hotel.
We had a great stay at the Hotel Museum. The staff was courteous, helpful and had wonderful service. Lots a great restaurants nearby. Would highly recommended.
We chose this hotel as it is recommended in the Rick Steve’s Italy book. Location was very important as we planned a return visit to the Vatican with a guided tour and climb up the dome. Lovely hotel with helpful staff. Nicely appointed good sized comfortable and quiet room. Delicious breakfast buffet. Easy to walk to many dining options. We enjoyed our stay. 5 stars
2 days in Rome
The location to Vatican was perfect. Felt safe and rooms were large and very clean and well decorated. Everyone was very nice and tried to help. Make sure to book tours ahead of time. The only negative was the hotel offered to set up a driver to pick us up at airport and he was almost and hour late!!and we had to drag our luggage for a ways to his car. I don’t recommend using their service.
Very clean, great staff, close to restaurants, trains, and public transportation
He’d elevator. Only 4 flours.
Had an elevator. Only 4floors. Excellent service and housekeeping.
Great location for visiting the Vatican. Bedding in the rooms is not comfortable (especially the pillows). Rooms were cold and did not have bedding to enjoy a better sleep.
The hotel. Staff were excellent, the location was across the steps to the Vatican museum entrance , so lots of tourists hence lots of garbage left around that the city did not clean up. Not the fault of this hotel though. The rooftop terrace was closed so they need to update their website as that was why I chose to stay there. Our breakfast was sufficient, not a lot of choices though. Room was small but air conditioning worked well. Bathroom facilities were small and older local restaurants are with in walking distance, but if I were to come again I would stay on the other side of the river as that is where all the historical attractions were. .
Walking distance to the Vatican
Staff were helpful and friendly, with excellent suggestions for local restaurants
I like the fact that they are just across the street from the Vatican entrance. That was the main reason we stayed at this hotel. However, like most hotels that I've shopped around in Italy, most do not have onsite parking. Which is a big inconvenience.
The room was new/refurbished and spacious for European standards and it was also very clean. It is 12 min walk from Ottaviano metro station and 10 minutes from EMO bus stop and is close to vatican museum. The only drawback is there is no coffee in the room or a coffe machine in the permise. I wouldn't mind staying here again.
Great location and nice hotel
The hotel is located close to the Vatican which is what we wanted. The room was adequate. Unfortunately we discovered that there was a leak in the bathroom ceiling after it rained. The water traveled from the bathroom into our bedroom. The staff thanked us for letting them know but didn’t offer any other information.
Excellent place to stay
La sallle de bain est pleine de champignons et vieille, la chambre aussi, la proprete laisse a desirer...
We loved the hotel, the staff the distance to the Vatican It was literally outside my patio . The only thing I this they should improve is to have a bigger vanity in the bathrooms. We had to put our toiletries and clothes in the closet shelf right outside the bathroom .
The staff here are so friendly and helpful. They seem to know what you need before you even say anything! The location was perfect for my Vatican tour that started just across the road. The room was cool and comfortable and came with a nice breakfast. I absolutely recommend this hotel!
Good spot stayed in the single room the air conditioning was top notch staff was great I would stay again
Great hotel. Steps from the Vatican city. Excellent customer service and room was spacious, good AC. I highly recommend and would book another stay at Hotel Museum.
Walkable to the Vatican and Metro stations, courteous, friendly and helpful staff, very clean. Thank you for a very comfortable stay for our family!
Worth Staying Here!
We had a great experience, the staff was very helpful with any needed assistance. They provided good directions when it came to moving around the city. We were well greated upon arrival.
Amazing hotel
Limited bath needs
Okay for a short visit
The room was dated but the room was big with lots of storage. The bathroom was disappointing as there was crusty yellow bits along the bottom of the shower screen, there was peeling paint from the tiles and the bathroom had a sewage smell. There was also high step out of the shower and no rail to hold onto my mum nearly slipped. on the night of packing i noticed silverfish bugs on the floor, i would have complained but as i was leaving there was no point. Beds where comfy and fully working aircon and fridge which was handy and the bonus was the Vatican was a 2 mins walk.
Really convenient stay if you’re planning on a Vatican tour (the entrance is across the street). Room was clean and comfortable. The staff was helpful and held our bags for us for half a day when we checked out. Was pretty affordable. Would definitely recommend.
Property was convenient to the Vatican and walkable to most other major monuments. Staff was amazing, but the bed was so uncomfortable and the pillows were so bad I ended up sleeping on the towels instead of a pillow
The property sits right next to the Sistine Chapel Museum entrance and walking distance to St.Peter’s Basilica (Vatican). The only issue we had was the washroom in our room 107 had mold growing all over the shower wall. Other than that, it was an enjoyable stay. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Excellent location, steps from the Vatican. Very safe and walking to all points of interest was unforgettable
The staff was very friendly.
Summer vacation in Rome
The Hotel Museum was amazing! We stayed 1 night during a stop over in Rome. The location is excellent, the hotel is very nice and clean and the management team was great! Would definitely recommend Hotel Museum! 5 out of 5 stars! Thanks for everything!
There was mold in our washroom. Staff came to view the mold, then tried to convince me that it was not mold however, I know what mold look and smell like. With my persistence, they changed our room. The replacement room was a little better but that room had mold as well. We were NOT IMPRESSED.
Excellent location to Vatican Museum ( less than 2 minutes walk), convenient store, breakfast and dinner options are around within 3-5 minutes walking distance. Staff is nice and amenity is upgraded in the room. We also have private balcony, really awesome!
Few minutes walk to Vatican Grocery / Restaurant by the area
Good
Perfect if you plan to go to Vatican city early! Quick walk to metro. Barebones, but has what you need on a budget. Lovely front desk workers and lots in the area.
Very close to vatican
Nice people, great location to Vatican1
The staff was awesome in answering any questions we had as well as arranging us a taxi. The room I picked was small but I knew that before booking. Overall not bad for being so close to the Vatican City.
Very well-managed hotel. Clean, convenient rooms, efficient staff. Air-conditioned
Would recommend!
Great room for a family of four, with twin beds for the kids. Excellent location near the Vatican. Easy to walk to the metro to get around Rome. Enjoyed the breakfast there also.
We reported that our AC was not working and all they did was give us a fan. Maintenance was not able to come. We did not not sleep well land had a long flight home the next day. I would not stay here again.
This was our first time in Italy and we had such a fantastic experience. The hotel upgraded us for free to a luxury room. The staff was so friendly and helpful and went above and beyond. We were only a couple of blocks from the nearest metro stop and within walking distance to some delicious restaurants and Vatican city was just around the corner. Would recommend anyone to stay at this hotel!
Just a basic room.A/C really didn't keep room cool and big step up to shower
It’s a museum 😊and plus the fact that it’s a walking distance to Vatican is a big plus .
Roma in 2 days
Clean room, nice staff, good breakfast, location very convenient for the Vatican museum tour, hotel holds luggage while you do tours.AC was not working,
Another Great Stay
A hidden gem in Rome, Vatican City. Fantastic service as the front desk is always staffed. Everyone is very welcoming and helpful. Room is always clean and the location is great! 10min walk to Ottaviano train station, 10 min walk to local Cab Stand, and 15min walk to St. Peter's Square. The neighborhood is pretty quiet at night too so you can always get a good night's sleep. This was my 5th time staying here!
Liked its close proximity to the Vatican. Book a museum tour and the group literally meets outside the front door of the hotel. Restaurants in the area were very good options for breakfast and dinner. Staff at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are basic but comfortable.
Nice stay near The Vatican
The staff at Hotel museum were helpful and friendly and worked with us to stay an extra night after flight cancellation and getting taxis. The hotel was very clean even though the streets outside (next to the Vatican) were littered with trash to our dismay. Still a very convenient location for the Vatican with good customer service.
We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Location was literally steps from the Vatican museum. We did find a small ant colony in our room. The safe in the room also wasnt bolted down you could have walked away with it. Restaurants in the area were very good and reasonably priced
The staff was very helpful. The location is perfect if you're visiting the Vatican Museums. The room was clean and functional. Breakfast was also very good. I would definitely stay again.
Location close to Vatican City
Super friendly staff on all aspects, very convenient location a block away from Vatican museum.
Super friendly staff and very convenient location.
From the moment we checked in to our checked out the service was amazing. They accommodated to us as we arrived early. Without question they gave us our room early. Truly a please hotel to stay. Many choices to eat around, laundry at around the corner, the Vatican is their back wall. The kids loved the bunk beds, enough room for a family of 4. Great little Terraza to unwind from the crazy day. Definitely will stay here again.
The staff was polite and knowledgeable. The hotel is LITERALLY across the street from the museum entrance of The Vatican. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was very good.
I had. Wonderful stay. Friendly staff, great accommodations, a lot if dining options.
Friendly and helpful staff. Location is at the steps to the Vatican Museum, very convenient for Vatican City. Room was clean.
This hotel was in the perfect location for all things Vatican. The entire staff was so accommodating. The property is an older hotel, but very well maintained. Bring all your own toiletries , because the hotel only offers pump soap in the room. The billiards room was fun to hang out for a quick drink before dinner. There's a GREAT German restaurant next door to the property. I'd definitely recommend this hotel.

To our surprise, our spacious room even comes with a spacious balcony which we can sit and enjoy eating outdoors.
