Very good place and very close to the train station!

Close to train station, decent breakfast, old type of room but decent and functional

This was better than expected! very clean and comfortable facilities, it’s 8 min walk to ZURICH HB Station, there are restaurants with 3 min walk, and shops, It’s easy access. It has elevator, The check in is digital and easy.

Perfect for a quick break

Great location if you want to be in the centre of Zurich and quite. Self check in which was easy. Breakfast was just what was needed although you had to ask for hot water to make a cuppa. Bed really comfortable but hot water was not plentiful, more luke warm.

Nos hospedamos recientemente en el Hotel Montana en Zúrich, y aunque solemos hacer todas nuestras reservas a través de Expedia sin inconvenientes, esta vez la experiencia con el hotel dejó mucho que desear. Puntos negativos: El nivel de limpieza fue bastante deficiente. El baño tenía manchas de hongo en las esquinas, las paredes y la cabecera de la cama tenían polvo acumulado, las cortinas estaban manchadas y el techo de la ducha también presentaba manchas. Además, el drenaje del lavamanos funcionaba muy mal, el agua se estancaba. Los pasillos y el ascensor tenían un olor fuerte a humedad. Otro inconveniente fue la falta de enchufes en la habitación; solo había dos: uno en el baño y otro en el escritorio, lo que resultó incómodo para cargar dispositivos. Puntos positivos: El desayuno fue, sin duda, el punto más destacado de nuestra estancia. Para un hotel de tres estrellas, nos pareció sorprendentemente bueno: variado, con comida deliciosa y suficiente como para comenzar bien el día. Para nosotros, el desayuno es la comida más importante, y el hecho de que estuviera incluido fue un gran alivio, ya que nos permitió mantenernos satisfechos por varias horas durante nuestras actividades. Además, la localización del hotel es excelente: muy cerca del centro de la ciudad, con fácil acceso a tranvías, autobuses y trenes, lo cual facilitó mucho nuestro transporte durante la estancia.

The people was nice, however there are no plugs in the room one no where the bed. The Television does work and was very hard to work. The biggest reason I will never stay here again is there is no Hot water

Great value for money

Great value for money. The location was convenient close to the train station and the room was cozy. The breakfast was included and surprisingly good compared to what you typically see at this price point, great spread!

Receptionist was kind, helped with electronic self-chick-in. When we opened door to room we stepped into a freezer: no heating! Upon my immediate notice to reception she brought us within 5 minutes an old electric heater. After several hours finally the room had a temperature, which allowed us to stay in there with pullovers on.

Excellent value

Convenient and safe location within a 5 minute walk of the central train station. Clean and nicely decorated at an affordable price! Staff is not the warmest but they offer contactless check in with your phone so you can go straight to your room anyway.

Our sink would not drain and the room is very dark. The elevator was dirty and had a strong smell in the hallways. Staff was nice and helpful. Location is awesome. Breakfast was good.

Nice hotel. Very convenient to the train and old town. Not a fan of self check in. Attempted to do it prior to arriving but no option for English. The kiosk at the hotel has English and was fairly straightforward - nice to have someone to help.

Nice hotel and very close walk to HBF. Room had a plug in fan too which is always a bonus.

Bed is comfortable pillow is bit too soft. Nice hot shower but vapour didn't go away after long time. Breakfast is okay given the price but got some smell for the cold cut and some dirts on some of the pastries. Overall a good hotel stay.

Average stay

There was mould in the top corner of the shower and the water plug was coming out of the wall of the bathroom. Staff were fine however didn’t really interact as check in was via a tablet. The bed wasn’t comfortable to fit two adults as felt smaller than a double bed. Location however was walkable to sights though.

While the location is convenient to the Hauptbahnhof, there are some issues with this property. Our bed was extremely soft. Both the room and bathroom were very small with the latter having a tub with a clogged drain and a moldy shower curtain. The staff were friendly but the hotel uses a somewhat silly contactless check in/check out system which tried to charge us for a room we’d already paid for. If traveling in the heat of summer be forewarned that this hotel does not have A/C in the rooms.

Loved the location! Check in was easy. Walls are kind of thin so be mindful of the tv volume so as not to disturb other guests. Breakfast as wonderful!

Hotel reception staff were very accommodating. We landed at Zurich with 2 large bags besides the cabin luggage. The hotel let us keep our large bags in the hotel concierge for 4 days before checking-in the hotel on the 5th day for 2 nights. This made our 4 days trip to Interlaken (for Jungfraujoch and other locations) & Lucerne (for Mt. Pilatus and other locations) pretty convenient. Breakfast buffet was not upto the mark, the croissant was of very poor quality. The property is located at such a convenient location that Zurich HB is just 5 minutes walk away wherefrom one can travel to the entire Switzerland and Europe by Train

Over all the hotel is nice. We are spoiled and would have liked more space. With no air conditioning, I would never stay here in the summer; the fan was enough last night, but never in the summer.

Close to the train station, guided tour pick up point and trams. Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood with lots of restaurants within a 10 minute walk. Very clean hotel, excellent breakfast buffet provided, would definitely stay here again.

I had to catch an early train and while I knew I would miss breakfast, I tried to get water to fill my bottel and told I couldnt. Not allowing paying customers to just get water from the kitchen is beyond rude.

The hardwood flooring had ripped off in our room. Not very safe to walk in the room due to that. The front desk person took the details on the floor and other issues in the room. She was very polite. I wasn't able to use the automated check out option. Fortunately the front desk person came at 7:00AM and just told me to give her the keys!! Best part about the hotel was that it was 2 minutes from the train station.

Loved our stay, so close to the train station. Just our neighbor each night blow drying their hair at 11pm was annoying.

Hated the lack of staff and forced online checkin policy. There ie a word for labor withount pay. One floater at check in. No one at check out. Gave me the room next to the elevator. Maid knocked in early am because no dnd sign. Nosy street below. Window was semi off its hinge. They made it seem like bfast was inclded. It looked weak so i didnt ask further. Tv was large. You can walk in the station for almost the whole way there. Look for museum side and go left. Still the best value i could find near the station.

They were to send me an email 24 hours before arrival with the confirmation number I needed to checkin. I tried contacting them several times and Expedia ended up contacting them so I got the number on the morning of my checkin. They said someone was available 24/7 to assist at checkin but the desk was empty more that someone was there. The location was convenient.

Very nice hotel

It was perfect for our needs. The location was excellent, very close to the rail station and easy to walk old town Zürich. The hotel staff is excellent, breakfast was great. Happy we stayed there. If you go, don’t expect 5 star look.

Did not like the staff services, quite unwilling to help even the check in, internet setup. Breakfast restaurant staff not a greeting at all.

The room was exceptionally hot, even with leaving the window open overnight and the fan on. The bathroom shower curtain was moldy. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was really nice. The location is extremely convenient to the train station and there is a grocery store next door.

Next to the main train station so it was convenient for us to get on to our train next morning. However, there is a red light street not far from the hotel but you don't have to walk past it to go to the train station. Comfy room and yummy good selection breakfast.

Internet was slow and inconsistent. We kept getting kicked off wi-fi frequently.

Excellent buffet breakfast. Accommodations were clean, but dated. No a/c and lots of outside noise when window was open. Wall mount installed hair dryer knocked out electrical in bathroom. Comfortable beds.

Room is acceptable. Shower door closes in a weird way. Water will come out if you don’t close properly. No A/C. Only 1 small fan. Bedbugs on the bed. I got lots of bites by morning. Breakfast is just alright.

The hotel is conveniently located near the bus & Central Train Station. The hotel has no air conditioning. But, has a portable fan in the the room that doesn't help on a humid day. The double room is a typical small European hotel room. The shower is small & I kept shipping on the shower floor. The shower head would not stay up no matter what. Breakfast was fresh & substantial. The touch screen espresso machine was a added bonus. I would recommend finding a better hotel in this neighborhood.

The room was very hot when entering, no air conditioning, made the stay very uncomfortable. not a lot of amenities directly nearby. 5-10 min walk to the nearest.

Hotel Montana Zürich is a 5-6 minute walk from the Zurich Railway station. Easy to find. We finished the check-in online earlier and got the QR Code to scan. If we have the QR Code, then scan it on the display near the front desk and we can get the key from the machine. Even if not, the front desk will provide it. The staff were amiable and helpful. The room was good. The bed was comfy. Enough storage space as well. The washroom was spacious and clean overall but there was a little bit of "MOLD" on the corners of the shower area. Yes, it is a concern if it is left untreated. It was only a little when I stayed, but if unnoticed, then it would be a concern for sure. There was no AC in the room, window could be opened. In the morning, they have an excellent breakfast, which is worth it. So many options. Overall, it was a pretty decent stay.

Great hotel in good location near the train station. The room didn’t have aircon and was really hot. Although there was a fan it was still very warm. Breakfast was nice although we couldn’t stay long as had to rush off for a train.

Motel 6 level of place. Hot, pricey and noisy room

These are very basic rooms. Ours was at the 5th floor facing the "patio" which is a parking lot that becomes ver noisy with trucks and cars bringing suplies innthe morning. Being july it was super hot and there is no air condition so we had to keep the window open for a bit of air. Since the building is built all around the parking lot there is no breeze coming. We asked for a fan and got one of those electric heater/cooler which was better than nothing but not very effective. Breakfast is ok. The place is very close to the train station and near shops and groceries, so if you need a place in the center between train and flights its good place. We chise it because we had a car to park and needed it for 3 nights, not too many hotels in the center had parking and their ended up costing 30chf a day just for the parking in addition the $180/night that we paid. Zurich is expensive but this is outragious price for what it is.

The hotel is near to the train station. The room is so dusty and dirty I didn't like it at all luckily it was only 1 night stay. The Buffet breakfast is quite decent spread. I will no go again or recommend to anyone.

Found out by accident because had expected a kettle in the room and just got a coffee machine, which no one knew how to operate! Luggage storage.Would stay again.

Appreciated that the hotel honoured the booking made a year in advance. We had some trouble with the online check with 3rd party platform as we booked with Expedia and the name registered incorrectly under first name (instead of surname) and Expedia as given name!

Cheap and mediocre

Very dusty around the room, sticky desk, mouldy shower curtain, unbearably hot, fan didn't work, wifi didn't work, bed was comfortable and it was cheap, that's about it

Quant. Breakfast was excellent

We didn’t enjoy our stay at Hotel Montana. The rooms were not clean and thick dust was visible on the walls which caused us to cough at night. Even the lamps were dirty. Our daughters’ adjacent room was opened by housekeeping while they were sleeping and left ajar, making us feel very unsafe for our children. Housekeeping denied that they opened it, but the hotel manager checked and saw that housekeeping had opened the door and left it ajar. Some staff members tried to address our concerns though not adequately. We asked to cancel our second night and refund the payment for that night because we felt unsafe with opened doors and lying housekeeping, but the manager dug his heels in and said no. He was not very helpful and insinuated I was trying to get a freebie in exchange for avoiding a bad review, instead of finding out if there was a safety issue. Construction in the area also starts at 8 am so be prepared to be bothered early in the day. Overall, the rooms were dirty and we felt unsafe in the hotel. It was not a comfortable stay and we will not be returning.

The only positive is location. Self check in/out. Staff was not helpful. Not very clean. Amenities were extremely limited (had to request basic items- e.g. toilet paper and towels). Location is great, very walkable.

Everything was good and we enjoyed our stay.
