Everything was okay accept I had a room downstairs and there must not be any carpets upstairs. The people staying above me woke me at 11pm, 3am, and 6am. It sounded like they were dragging their luggage around. It was VERY loud. Thankfully I was only there one night or I would have requested an upstairs room or I would have to have left.,
Located near a large indoor market, there are plenty of excellent shopping and dining options. This hotel was perfect as the base for our 5 day Inca trail hike.
Lanscaping
Beautiful property, awesome rooms and far enough away from plaza that it was quiet but still easy to walk too.
The hotel was great, location was excellent, front staff was not the friendliest. Loved that we had restaurant on site with free breakfast and beautiful grounds. Loved that we were right across the street from San Pedro market! Everything else was also in close vicinity for short walks so we did not have to take any taxi while we were in town, only when we left for tours. Highly recommend.
Some rooms have no windows and no a/c.
We stayed at this comfortable hotel after our train trip back to Cusco from Machu Picchu. They were very accommodating in that we dropped our luggage off before taking the train to Machu Picchu and it was waiting for us upon our return and checkin. The close proximity to San Pedro train station so you can walk right to the hotel.
It was a great experience! Super convenience location. Near to principal places.
Great location. Nice vibe
Room was way too small
nice location and beautiful gardens inside
Nice little place. Very fitting to the area. Close to markets. Walking distance to lots of restaurants. Good location. 4/5
We loved the location and the stay was great! Very clean and comfortable hotel
Pictures were accurate. The place is as nice as the pictures. But along with the old world charm are noisy wooden floors. The bathrooms can get quite cold as the heat source is only in the bedroom. Friendly staff. Great location to the markets. Pretty good breakfast. Good value
Friendly staff
Excelente servicio una estadía placentera la atención no tengo quejas una paz a la Hora de dormir súper recomendado !!!
The staff in general is amazing especially Liz at the morning restaurant she was very nice and helpful.
No like the pictures at all, at night people be drinking outside the property so is not safe is you back from a tour at night and in the morning is a lot people and all the smell of garbage because the mercado is right cross the street, the hotel doesn’t look like the pictures at all
Excellent location with great staff
I stayed here with my significant other for one night before going to Machu Picchu the next morning. It was relatively close to the airport and although we didn’t do much in Cusco until after Machu Picchu, it is a 10-15 minute walk from Plaza de Armas and across the street from San Pedro Market. Room was very clean, shower was nice and hot, the staff was very kind and attentive and gave us coca tea first thing when we arrived. Property itself was also cool (located in an old monastery). Not sure how safe the area around the hotel is at night, but it didn’t seem to unsafe. All in all, it was a great and affordable place to stay for one night (or more if you need).
The installation very nice , the room clean it was ok , I like the fact that it’s next to train station and only four blocks to the center of Cusco
Excellent place!
I had such a great stay here. I would come back to stay again without hesitation. Amazing service and support!
Very nice hotel, clean and cosy,, friendly and helpful stuff, excellent location, but no noise isolation at all. You can hear anything from running water in nearby room to someone walking in the corridor.
Think twice, be careful, look other places...
We are in a long trip and booking our hotel rooms according to info given on the Internet. Unfortunately, some of the hotels are giving wrong info and pictures on the hotels.com pages. Actually, some of the hotels are cheating us. This hotel Superior Room information was as "overlooking garden and balcony"... And some pictures you love it... When we arrived at the hotel, we have seen that the room is at the base floor, no window overlooking the garden and no balcony at all... When I have complained about the room the reception clerk told me that "we have no room like that with balcony and overlooking to garden, hotels.com inserted wrong info, you must talk with hotels.com, not with us"... Finally, the room info was absolutely wrong... Actual room was just like a jail room. No windows to see outside. When you get in the room and closed the door than you feel like you are in a jail...Superior jail room... The room at the base floor and never see the sunlight It is so cold and no any kind of heating system... Freezing all night. Plus, very noisy during the night. Some people above your room walks forward/backward in the very early morning. No way to sleep. Just stay away you are looking a room a little bit large, you want to see something through a window and without noise during the night... Think twice...
The property was beautiful, the service was very good and the hotel breakfast exceeded expectations. They also have security at night on the doors. The walls are a little thin (it is an old monastery) so take that into consideration when you are walking up and down the hallways. Free internet, free breakfast and beautiful property- you can't go wrong.
Staff very friendly, cleaning was good and easy to walk to Plaza De Armas
Lovely Grounds
Very beautiful stay. Lovely grounds. Helpful staff. Breakfast was nice.
Rooms do not depict the photo. Not clean room - we have another booking for our return on 12/28 and we are not even going back to the hotel. We are dissatisfied. And we would rather get our credit back.. Sorry.
Great place for a reasonable price
The hotel was very clean and comfortable. It was nice to stay in such a well-maintained place for such a great price, which traveling around Cusco. It was also nice that they stored our bags between our stays, while we were on our 4-day hike.
Beautiful and clean hotel with no frills. Only issue is that one can hear people walking and talking in the hallway. Inspite of this i had a very pleasing stay. Short walking distance to the main square and restuarants.
Lovely room with modern bathroom in a quiet courtyard. Well positioned and friendly staff.
Mucho ruido en los pasillos!! El baño con cortinas (agregar puertas de vidrio) Las puertas de las habitaciones sellarlaa para que no penetre tanto ruido. El problema es e ruido entre las paredes de los cuartos.
The location was perfect for us - next to the market and pharmacy and PeruRail office and far enough from the main plaza!
Wished we had longer
Amazing service. We were leaving before breakfast, so the staff packed us a ham and cheese sandwich, apples, and field cookies. We stopped in for coffee, then got our breakfast to go. It was the most comfortable stay, and we really enjoyed the wool blankets left inside the wardrobe. Even with the Feast of St. Peter & Paul on the square, we could barely hear it outside.
loved the architecture and accessibility to the city
I love the grounds - nice and quiet. I also like how close it is to the market, grocery store and main square
Great place to stay in Cusco
Great location, friendly staff, really comfortable beds, great WiFi, and great price. Couldn't have asked for a better hotel.
Location was fantastic. The monastery was very quiet and the grounds were well kept.
Great stay— highly recommend!
This was a wonderful hotel. We stayed 7 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel had wonderful gardens and courtyards. Our room was small but cozy. It overlooked the playground of the attached orphanage, so it could be loud when the kids were playing. The free breakfast was delicious and had a good variety each day. The staff was very helpful. They were very kind and polite. They contacted a tour agency for us to confirm a hotel pick up, which was very helpful. The location was great— right across the street from the San Pedro Marley with lots of fresh fruits and other vendors. We loved our stay here!
Great stay
The hotel was very clean and the breakfast was tasty. The staff were very helpful and spoke good English.
Everything was fine except that we arrived about 2 hours early and waited in the lobby and we were not allowed to have breakfast! They said that because our checking time was 10:00 it was late to get the breakfast, and they did not offer even the option to pay for it while we wait for checking in! That we didn’t like at all !
Great hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. This was a great location and price. We would definitely stay here again.
Unique monastery setting, but cold in winter
The hotel has a unique character, connected with the San Pedro Monastery. The design of the facility makes it interesting. The staff were helpful. The breakfast was good and varied a bit each day. The biggest drawback for us was the inability to control the room temperature during cold Cusco winter nights. As the buildings are old and not well insulated, some of the winter cold chills the inside of the room. The individual radiator heater didn't generate much warmth, so the room still felt cold for us.
Gem in Cuzco at a great price
It is a unique hotel setting, very quiet and relaxed atmosphere. Breakfast is included and met our needs. There is a hotel bar open in the evening which provided great service. Comfortable beds. Large market across street and a straight walk downhill to main square (plaza de armas).
Choose another Hotel for Dinner
The first night i chose to have dinner here. I was the only person there. The waiter did not come over to my table to take my order, i had to go to him. I place my order with him. He kept leaving the area after making coffee's,( room order's). It took 25 minutes to receive my meal and it was Cold. Steak should not be cold, I heard the cooks Bell 5 minutes earlier while this bloke was away delivering coffee orders. Unable to tell this bloke the meal was cold in English. I left, the next morning I told the front desk staff about the meal, they just look at me, as to said what is your problem. The hotel staff, need to get better service and be able and willing to help.
The staff were not very friendly (other than one staff member) and my room was above the restaurant so I could hear that through the evening. The bar was also noisy and I had to request that they close their doors.
Good location, accross the street from market
Hotel facilities and location were better than expected. The rooms are big and the hotel is within walking distance from a lot of restaurants and attractions. Taxis are always waiting outside, like anywhere in Peru, negotiate the taxi fare before getting in.
Nice hotel close to the center of Cusco.
It was a great experience. The breakfast buffet was delicious.
Perfect location, wonderful staff and great price
I cannot say enough wonderful things about the staff at Hotel Monasterio San Pedro. From the moment my group arrived, the staff were friendly, kind and accomodating. My group walked the Inca Trail during our time in Peru and the hotel allowed us to leave our belongings in their storage room until we returned. They were incredibly helpful in providing directions, reserving taxis and giving recommendations for activities. In addition, when my husband got very ill overnight and we had to cancel/reschedule activities one of the women at reception let me use her personal cell phone to call the travel company, after I was unable to reach them through my own international cell phone app. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wants to stay in Cusco at a reasonable price, be in a great area and have a wonderful staff to help you along the way!
Convenient and clean hotel
Room was larger than expected and very nice. Restaurant was OK - great ceviche, but tough steak. Right across the street from San Pedro market.
Good and friendly service...
The hotel has great service and welcoming staff. The building is a little noisy, since you can hear people moving and walking in the aisles. The area is not the best if you want to walk to the center of town at night.
Just ok hotel
Could find better hotel and location for the price. Large clean rooms however just so so hotel. I prob would not stay there again.
great value lovely right in the heart of the city
stayed here for one night while in cusco. it was a lovely hotel right next to the san pedro market and a 12 minute walk to city center. charming hotel that abuts one of the many old churches of cusco
Convinient location and spacious rooms!!!!
Awesome hotel, helpful staff, really close from downtown but far enough not to hear all the noises and action. Good selection for breakfast! We felt safe at all time even when coming back late at night! I would definitely go back there and recommend it to any one!!! Gracias
A great hotel well worth a couple of extra dollars
This hotel was very nice. A lovely breakfast with some variety each morning including fresh fruits, breads, eggs, meats, cheese, juices, the normal drinks, and some of the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The only problem I had was that somehow Hotels.com keeps changing our 2 bed request to a double room (2nd time now on this trip) and the hotel got a little pushy about it after check-in, but did end up letting us keep the 2 bed room. They arranged a tour for us as well, which was much easier than trying to figure out who was reputable on the streets of Cusco, only problem was that it was in Spanish (likely because my daughter is fluent and had done the arranging, but I would ensure that they get the right language next time). The hotel is in easy walking distance of almost everything you want to see in Cusco. Highly recommend!
Clean, friendly and close
Very neat hotel within the monestary with very helpful staff. Close walk to the main plaza and restaurants. Rooms were nice and clean, linens and bed were soft and warm. Breakfast was decent with fresh pastries, fruit, cold meats, cheeses and usually some hot dishes. At night it can feel a bit shady as the market is deserted, but we never felt unsafe even when returning after midnight. Only complaint was you can hear the street honking through the bathroom window - so we just remembered to close the bathroom door each night.
Stay in the heart of Cusco
A charming hotel next to a beautiful church. It is perfectly located across from the San Pedro Market for the traveler who wants to be apart of the local community and no more than a 10 minute walk from he heart of town. The staff was always very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was great with new items everyday.
Nice Rooms
The outside of the hotel looks scary but the rooms are really nice.
Part of the hotel is on a very busy street with unending noise--- be sure to ask for quiet room as you check in- we had to change rooms after the first night of no sleep-- perfect location- so so breakfast- but very nice people who try hard to make your stay nice
No frills but friendly staff
I only stayed one night. I arrived one evening and flew out the next morning so I can really only speak to the hotel and on sight restaurant vs the surrounding area. The staff was great - incredibly friendly and helpful. My bed was comfortable and the on sight pizzeria was lovely. The hotel is very loud though - the long wood floors in the hallway do very little to absorb the sounds of other, less-than-considerate guests coming home late night. And the tiny, dark shower left something to be desired. Also, note that there was no blow dryer or iron in the room.
super neat place to stay...
Paying for experience
First of all, it's important to point out, this is a monastery converted into a hotel. So those expecting 5* luxury with massive rooms and jacuzzi bathtubs should probably look somewhere else. Truth is, the rooms at full price are poor value for money. But here, you are paying for the experience more than the amenities. I enjoyed my stay and would likely stay again (if i got the same discount.
Great location and friendly staff
Stayed with 10 family members on our way to and from our Inca Trail Hike. Fantastic location for markets, food, and site seeing. Very friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Highly recommend this hotel
Would go back anyday!
Loved it. We were very pleased with the staff and the hotel itself. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Ok hotel in front of San Pedro market
Hotel is ok. For the price, I believe there are better options in the city. 6 blocks from the Cathedral, which is good. In front of San Pedro market, which is one of the main markets in the city, were you could find fresh fruits to start the day. We had two rooms, and in both of them we found one inch spiders (took pictures and showed them to the front desk), they need to have some pest control. Hotel is lacking some small details like the floor towel in the bathroom, and the wood floor in the hallway is very noisy when someone walks (reception should tell guests to walk silently when entering the hotel after certain hours).
Mixe place hermoso todo muy bonito la estancia excelente
For our needs in Juli the rooms hast unsufficient heating, the bathroom none at all and wann water was limited. Breakfast rooms unfortunately cold as well but buffet offered all you need. Very nice monastery Garden and good place to walk the city
Espero no volver a este hotel. Lamentablemente tengo un día más de reserva
Otimo hotel
confortable and convenient

Good location, but noisy at night
