The hotel is outdated and in very poor condition. The rooom design and condition was bad. Bed was uncomfortable and the sheets got me itchy. Coulf hardly sleep. The bathroom not much better - the blowdrier showing exposed electric wiring, partially and amateurly covered. Showerhead was falling out of the ceiling as it was old or poorly built. On the bright side - crew was extremely nice and helpful. there is 24/complementary coffee and tea station in tbe loby. Location is very central. Hotel was clean. To sum it up, old and somber hotel in bad condition. Location and great staff are not good enough to overcome it. I advise to avoid !

Very basic, but clean and in a great location!

My room in Hotel Mayerling was very basic and in need of a coat of paint. That said it was clean, warm and reasonably comfortable, if not overly large. It was cold and wet in Madrid during my stay, so it was good that the room wasn’t cold or draughty. The reception staff are very pleasant and check in was straightforward. There is free tea/coffee/water available in the kitchen area beside reception where a simple breakfast is also available for €8. The location of the hotel is its best selling point. It’s 150m from the Metro at Tirso de Molina, and only 5-10 mins walk from Plaza Mayor, Puerto del Sol and all the main attractions around the city centre. It’s also easy to get to the Bernabeu and Metropolitano stadiums for football. The hotel is probably best suited for a couple of nights to solo travellers or those on a tight budget.

The staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed. I definitely recommend this hotel, especially because of the wonderful staff.

Clean and convenient

The staff was so nice and very helpful. Conveniently placed close to a lot of local attractions and good food! Very walkable to! Only downside was that the bed was HARD as a rock. Otherwise, great place and relatively cheap.

Our room was along the front of the hotel. Prepare not to sleep at all as it is so noisy. Very busy street all night. Otherwise great hotel

Recommend hotel 5⭐️ for me.

Staff was wonderful! Room clean and area convenient. Room did not lend a welcoming feeling as there are no pictures, furniture, or decorations. Shower was odd with black paint and strobe changing color lights, and a shade on outside of shower to pull down if you want privacy in the shower. Everything worked well and again was clean.

We stayed in the hotel for five nights. It is in a great location, close to Plaza Major and walkable to many sightseeing attractions, and with many dining options within 5 minutes walk. There is also a 24-7 supermarket around the corner, which we loved. The breakfast has good selections, and the staff is friendly. We feel safe completely. Our only complain is the shower inside the room. The room must have been retro-fitted, having added a shower and sink inside the bedroom. It would have been ok having a shower in the room, had the shower been constructed appropriately. But it was not. There is water leak from underneath because the drain does not work quickly enough. So every time after the shower is used, regardless how careful and quickly we used the shower, we can see the water sipping out between the tiles of the floor. The wet floor tiles are close to where the bed sits, which is annoying.

The room would only be good for 1 night stay if there are 3people in the room. I needed a bowl for my fruits and the guy in the reception said I cannot take the bowl to the room as it is only for those who are availing of the breakfast.

The hotel is near a busy and can be a bit noisy in the evenings, as it is close to many bars and restaurants. However, there are many dining options, and it is walkable to any of the important Madrid attractions.

Awesome staff

Very well located with wonderful staff. Rooms and bathrooms small and aging a little.

It might be a suitable option for a single man to spend the night after a long trip, but if you’re traveling with your partner, she may be disappointed with the room’s condition. However, I have to mention that the pillows and mattress are quite comfortable compared to others.

Exceptional

I strongly recommend for this hotel. The stuff are friendly, helpful, and polite. The room is clean and for 1 to 2 people. AC is perfect. the bathroom is clean and shower is good too.

This hotel is a walking distance to various places of interest in Madrid. It’s super clean and the staff is fenomenal! The front desk gentleman, Yansel was amazing! He was friendly and helpful! We will be staying there again for sure and hope he still there!

The folks working there are incredible. Locals who will help find a good spot to eat or help you charge your phone, even get a train ticket. Location kicks ass, I’ll never stay at a hostel if this place exists.

VERY clean and great value for location just south of Plaza Mayor. Excellent wifi quality. Despite being on a small street, it is quite busy. Between that and very loud construction (late May/early June 2024), would recommend requesting a room in the back if you are a light sleeper.

Amazing staff, comfortable hotel in great place

The hotel is in a great location for visiting Madrid. The staff were amazing, so helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable and clean perhaps in need of a bit of a refresh in terms of decoration, otherwise perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast more than adequate.

Location is in walking distance to places of interest, room is small but clean, bed is comfortable and hotel is very quiet for a good night sleep. Henry at the reception is nice and welcoming.

Buena ubicación

How could anyone rate this place higher than 2 stars? I've stayed in hostels that were nicer. it was a very small unpleasant room, bad bed, bad shower... in my 30 trips to Europe this was among the worse hotels I've stayed in.

The springs i mattress where poking me the beds were very bad

Well designed, low-key hotel with a lovely (I repeat, lovely) staff.

Service versus price

Good location, quiet, room comfortable but lacked furniture basics. Only a bed and one chair. Too simple for the price. Hotel prices went up after Covid but so should be the quality and comfort.

This hotel is super convenient to a lot of the attractions inadrid and to the train station. Not a luxury hotel, but clean and with a good breakfast buffet for $8. I recommend this place. Great for the price!

The staff were super friendly and the location is easily accessible by transit. My stay was relatively quiet. I would hesitate to call this a hotel as my room looked more like a dorm room than a hotel. Black concrete floors and walk in shower stalls. I found the photos to be misleading.

The property, amenities, staff, and spa were excellent. There is enough to do on the property to stay busy for a few days but there is a decent drive to get to the city center, etc. We especially appreciated the views from the dining rooms, the friendly staff, and the luxurious spa offers.

Really great rooms!!! Spacious and an AMAZING shower. Their breakfast is AMAZINGGGGG!!!!!! Coffee available all day and wayer too. Amazing location too

Great customer service from the team

This hotel made my first visit to Madrid pretty much easy its a convenient locaion to get around. Lots of Transportation options as well as really nice area, walkable to many landmarks.

Property is located very central. Nice hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. Particularly Henry, Yensel, Kenny and Rueben.

For the price that we paid , it’s all worth it. I booked a total of 3 rooms for 3 days . Front desk are friendly , except for 1 gentleman, who got a bit upset with us . We were hangin mg out in the kitchen area around 7 am and he asked us to leave and hang out instead in the lounge area . He taught we’re going to have breakfast there . But we didn’t know that you’re not supposed to hang out in the area .

No frills hotel with helpful and polite staff located near the Plaza Mayor an the centrum of Madrid full of restaurants and shopping plus good transportation options all these at good price

Really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. Firstly, it’s very conveniently located to Plaza Mayor and the San Miguel market, being a few minutes walk from both. There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants all around the hotel. Secondly the staff are just superb! Friendly and courteous. The hotel offers free water and coffee throughout the day. We didn’t avail of the breakfast option , but at €7 per person, it looked pretty good! The room itself was clean and comfortable, good WiFi and a very comfortable bed. Blackout curtains were great as was the air conditioning. One thing I’d have liked was a more traditional bathroom - the room had a separate shower room and toilet, with the sink outside in the main room. Nothing major though! Would stay again.

So pleasantly surprised at this gem of a hotel. Centrally located with all forms of transportation nearby, it was convenient for several tourist destinations and is located near a hop-on, hop-off bus stop. The staff were very helpful, professional and I loved the rooftop breakfast buffet. My bed was very comfortable and the room was dark and quiet for excellent sleeping. I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

The hotel is okay for the price I paid. I was given a 1st floor room and it was noisy because of construction taking place outside and the busy area where the hotel is located.

Hotel Mayerling is in the heart of Madrid walking distance to Plaza Mayor and Plaza del Sol. Their staff is very polite and offer great customer service. Loved the modern look. They offer a continental breakfast for a small fee, however offer free coffee, water, and tea throughout the day.

Doesn't worth

The room was not clean. Bathroom was used and the sheets had mites. Amenities are very limited. Rooms are very small and dark. There are much better options with the same price. The only good thing was the location. It's very centrical

Worse Ever

The Room is veeryyy tiny, the shower is just beside the bed, the room gets flooded because of the shower. The A/C it turn onjust for few hours, it was very hot🔥, to much street noise in the middle of the night.

In the heart of Madrid

From the moment I walked in I enjoyed my stay. Reception was froendly and accomodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Great location. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Very friendly hotel and the staff make you feel like home. The hotel is close to Plaza Mayor and a lot tapas restaurantes and stores.

Its my second time to stay in this hotel. Staff and cleaning ladies are all very nice to guests make me feel like it at home. Room is clean, towels are clean, bed is comfortable. They offer free self service coffee at the lobby it is a bonus to guests. Hotel is nearby 24 hours Carefour and Lidl is next. Many restaurants nearby, very convenient place. Walking distance to Sol. I definitely recommend to other travelers.

Front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. Explain everything to guest, especially in night time, door won't open automatically, we need to ring the bell to get staff open it. Well, may be good for our security. Room is clean, bed is very comfortable. I like their free serving coffee at the lobby floor for guests. This is a bonus to me. While the room doesn't have safe, fridge, maybe that's why they offer machine made coffee downstair, so no complain at all. The only thing wish hotel will improve is the sewage clogging issue, both hand wash basin and rain shower sewage are running pretty slow and almost thought they clogged. Overall, I am very happy for my stay in this hotel, highly recommend it to other travelers.

Nice location near Metro. Staff was fantastic Erica and Amarpola were friendly and helpful. Bathroom nice, bedroom a bit small but good mattress on bed.

Stayed 5 nights here and loved it. Walking distance to all major city attractions, staff is very friendly. Very clean and overall great stay.

The door was unable to close properly & there was no room to sit down on the toilet without having to move the cart on wheels that contained the glasses for drinks, soaps & towels. The toilet also had trouble flushing toilet paper after several attempts. Other than the bathroom issues this hotel did the job & I have no other complaints.

This was probably our fourth visit there and it never disappoints. Convenient location, very nice breakfast, reasonably priced, great staff. Rooms are not terribly luxurious, but they are comfortable and meet our needs.

We were greeted by a very friendly man (sorry I did not catch his name). He reviewed the city map with us to help orient us to the area. Very helpful.

Great clean central hotel with lovely staff

Great central base to stay in Madrid. Very clean and well presented. Staff were lovely and very helpful. Breakfast was a very nice serve yourself arrangement and having water, tea & coffee available in the lounge area was an added bonus. We stayed in a double room and it wasn't noisy even though it was so central. The toilet was a separate room directly off the bedroom and the shower cubicle was in the room, there was a blind for modesty but just something to be aware of if not a couple as no real private dressing area. :-)

A great little hotel for visiting Madrid! Very central, minutes walk from Metro, beautiful Plaza Mayor & fabulous Mercado San Miguel. Lovely staff, friendly & helpful & a small but thoughtfully designed room that provided every comfort needed by the traveller. I didn’t have the breakfast (but it looked good!) & the free coffee & tea in the lobby was much appreciated. Definitely recommend for a value base in Madrid & hope to return again soon
