Close to the restaurantes and shopping area.facilites dont work properlie air codtioner bad sink had water liking no dining area, door lock got stuck very often
The hotel was not 3 stars, it ha a lot lacking for 3 stars. It was dirty, in bad conditions, they didn’t put enough towels even if I made reservations for 4 people. They put only three bottles of water for 4 people, I had to ask for a bathroom rag. The air conditioner was not working. We had to ask for another room and the keys were not working to open the door.
Do not book a room here !
We were disappointed with the hotel overall. At check in, there was not enough key cards to offer us more than one key. The room floors were uneven and cracked, bed sheets were not clean, there was no cups or drinking glasses available. The bathroom basin was mouldy, toilet was leaking too. The wifi was intermittent in our room and the fire bottle for our floor level 3 was locked up in a metal bin, when requesting to see the manager, he was not available. Felt let down on this occasion from Hotels.com as I felt I was miss sold with pictures showing a fabulous accommodation.
Noisy, dilapidated property.
Good place to stay. Affordable and convenient to go around city center. However, I found cockroaches twice walking on top of my bed. The other downside is that there is a club nearby and you can hear the loud music until around 2-3am.
Very good and polite staff! I got mi check in right away. The rooms very clean and the people who work at the hotel are always ready to help you. Very convenient location, everything is two min. away, restos, bars, famous churches. Family ambience!
It was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only bad thing is that our room was next to the janitors room and they can be a bit laud in the morning
Even though we are grateful we had a room to spend the night, there are several issues to speak about. Upon arrival at Maya Hotel there were pools of water liking from ceilings everywhere, by main entrance steps, by the main door, by the hallways, even by elevators, and right before entering our rooms on the floors. When we notify receptionist, he just said, I know. In some rooms baby roaches s were spotted. In general, rooms are spacious, and beds are comfy, but clearly need re painting and keeping, walls are too dirty and spotty too.
Es un super lugar
No cold water, toilet not good.
Bad hotel
The staff were super friendly and helpful. However the hotel needs alot of repair. The handicap ramp to get In the hotel had been closed for a while and during our whole stay which made our 80+ year old parent have to climb some step steps to access the hotel. This is unacceptable. We had payed the more expensive room, however the pictures on the website was not like the actual room (we arrived at 10:45pm). When you entered the room the AC was turned off it smelled like mildew. No HOT water it took a whole day for them to fix the hot water issue. The paint on the wooden closet was pealing off extremely bad. The wooden floors were all warped and a trip hassard with mssing pieces . The front door was extremely hard to open. On the 2nd day they cut the water off in the whole building without telling anyone. This lasted over 5 hrs. The employees never even expressed concerned or informed us where to use the bathroom. Once again this is unacceptable. The only reason we stayed was because it was late we were tired and where only there for a few days.
I didn’t like anything about this property. We did not have blankets. Sheets and pillow cases were stained Inside curtains were dirty Air conditioning was not cooling enough Walls are filthy
Me gusto la alberca.
The staff here was always helpful and happy. They will clean your room every day, if you don’t want that you need to tell them. One night one of the staff members opened my room while I was inside, that was a little alarming as I hadn’t asked for any services, he said he was bringing towels in and did seem remorse that he opened the door without knocking. The room was very bland and not welcoming and I chose the upgraded king room. I ended up checking out because I wanted something more welcoming and homey. Over all this wad a nice spot close to many things to do within walking distance of many parks and attractions.
Bad hotel, do not set yourself up for the trouble
This is not a good hotel. We had two rooms on different floors and were never able to get hot water. We selected this place because it had a gym, which was closed for renovations. First room, AC wasn’t cooling. Had to beg to be moved to a room with a working AC, but it never got cold enough for comfort. Second room, AC worked great, but leaked water all over the floor. Staff was just moderately helpful. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it.
The pool
It’s right next to main plaza ! You can walk everywhere in downtown!!
The room was run down even though it said was renovated. It was cheap so you get what you pay for.
.
El desalluno los de Restaurante no vueno
It was nice enough. One of our rooms had a cockroach but they swiftly gave us another. The last day we were there the water pipes exploded and we had no water for that entire morning/afternoon. Staff was great.
Hotel Maya Yucatan is a three star hotel and has what you would expect from a property of that level. The room and bathroom was dirty and there was construction at the hotel that was not mentioned prior.
Horrible Experience.
Our experience here was awful. Mom and I did not get in until after midnight. Front desk tried to get our room key to work over and over, finally just gave it to us, guess what, did not work, this went on 3 times before maint. let us in, but could not leave because we still did not have a room key that worked, once into our room, it was NOT clean, floorboards coming apart and top coating peeling away, smelled like mold, sheets had stains, bathroom sink had mold growing since it did not drain. We were told we had to stay the night in that room because she could not switch us rooms that late. I slept on top of the sheets with a towel I brought. Woke up, tried to shower, no hot water, final straw. They moved us rooms to an equally dirty one. We walked a block and booked a different hotel. Tried to cancel this one and get a refund, we still have not seen any refund for 4 nights stay, we only stayed one, which I would pay for, but would like our money back for nights not stayed. Awful experience. Will not recommend.
If you need cheap, and you can live with a pigpen, this is your place…spend a little more
Great little hotel for the price it’s a bit tired but staff are great and the location is great
Very much enjoyed my stay the staff were super nice and welcoming and helpful .it was easy to reserve and to check in .keep in mind the price is really good but the rooms are a bit outdated but other than that ver comfortable and safe feeling .
We stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in the middle of November 2023, I made the reservation for 3 rooms, but rooms one of them was dirty and the other one had a light that did not work. At that time our family was upset but nothing was acceptable with the situation. The attendant at the counter didn’t care about the conditions only explained what it had and no changes could be made. So they tried to fix and clean the room. For the park, our care takes time because you need to go to the lobby and ask to open if they have space. Otherwise, you are lucky to find a space near the hotel. I normally do not give any review to the hotel and let them go if they are not satisfied with us, but this time the members of staff of the hotel were rude and did not care about the service. I will not recommend this hotel or get it as the last resource.
I liked that the Hotel is in close proximity to the Historical Areas of Merida. Restaurants, Market and the great Cathedral was within walking distance.
Very convinent location. Walking diatance to city center.
It was good!
call to make sure all amenities are in place
The gym was sub standard, the machines were broken. No coffee or laundry as stated. Only one key per room. Floors in room cracked. Staff and pool pretty cool
Very good location to walk around through Merida Downtown. Good price and especially the staffs are very kind.
Nice hotel
Ok
People at desk are not friendly. Beds are hard. Room and shower fixtures look old. Cleaning lady and bell boy (older man) are very friendly and serviceful. Hotel is three blocks away from cathedral and surrounded with shops and restaurants.
I enjoyed my stay
It was wonderful the staff was very kind as well as respected my privacy. The swimming pool was awesome
The staff was very attentive and ready to serve us. Thumbs up for Cristian who was very cordial and helpful.
Its a nice place for a short-term stay close to all the downtown attractions and restaurants. It was a bit noisy, but overall it an ok property.
I like that the hotel is close to everything, it’s not the most luxurious one but it the location and price is convenient.
Love the staff. No fridge in room. And no ice machine
Location of hotel was great, people were nice, room was clean and large, was allowed to leave luggage after check out, elevator, air conditioning, they booked taxi for our very early departure. Did not like that the pool was a bit cloudy, there were only 3 chairs next to pool, had to ask for towels couple times, they could update all linens. over all, a nice stay.
Don’t stay here. The only good thing it has is the location.
Location, location!! to all things you would want to visit. Both the Grand Plaza and Santa Lucia Plaza are a short walk. Too many places to mention to eat or shop within walking distance. Felt totally safe walking at night. Staff are gracious and accommodating. Second time staying here. Definitely my go to when in Centro Merida. See you next trip!
The staff was extremely helpful. My Spanish isn't that great but we were able to communicate and get things done. The room was spacious - I was able to do yoga and not have to move any furniture. The water-pressure in the shower was amazing as was having hot-water - there was room for 2 adults easily. The gym equipment was user-friendly and well-maintained. The pool was clean and useful for doing laps.
This place is horrible. The staff is rude and they don’t help you when u need the help. The key lock didn’t work and they couldn’t open the door to my room so I waited for 3 hours and they finally opened the door but I had to change rooms the next day and with all that I forgot an apple 🍏 iPad and they said they never found anything . I will never stay there again.
It was good
Good location. Walking distance to the restaurants, business, and transportation. 2 free bottles of water daily. Restaurante by the Pool. A/C in the room. Remember is very hot in Yucatán, no blankets, just a sheet. No coffee maker in room. No microwaves. No refrigerators in room. We did not need them since we spent most of the days in tours and everything is walking distance. I guess drinking coffee is not very popular in Yucatan. OXXO is walking distance from the hotel with multiple choices of coffee. Make sure you walk around the area at night time is a very popular area in the dark. We stayed upstairs in the 6th floor.
The only complaint I have is the wifi. They need to work on it. Contected to wifi without internet is not a nice feeling
We stay here on the second week on July, TERRIBLE clogged drain, smell in the pillows, towels are almost ripe, dirty pool, the floor has this dirty yellow foam, they ask you for ID to lend you the iron for 2 hours, you almost sign a bible to enter the hotel, but the worst of all were the mattresses I think the floor is softer we only stay 1 night of the 5, it is better to pay a little more believe, the team that works in this hotel are AMAZING they need to found other job! PEOPLE READ ME DONT STAY HEREEEE!
Poor quality of. Linen. Towels
Good property. Good price. Great location. Great and helpful staff. Just in need of some maintenance and updating
Great location and wonderful staff but lacks basic amenities like a coffee maker, proper air conditioning and toiletries.
The staff were very good. Views were good from our room. Pool was good but could use a few more chairs (only 3 for all guests). Our room could use some love. Floors were separating, the AC unit had you freezing when on. Set thermostat higher and it ran consistently. Bring a cooler with ice if you are staying a few days. No fridges or ice. For the price and the location is was a good place to stay.
Terrible mattresses but overall a good choice
I had two stays, separated by a few days in Sisal. First time I had a "newer" room at the front; second an "older" room at the back. There wasn't much difference and both mattresses were terrible. Wifi wasn't great in the old room but I was as far as you could get from the router. The noticeable difference was the lack of traffic noise at the back so a trade-off: good Wi-Fi or noise. Staff were excellent and despite the negative points, I'd definitely stay again. Big pool for a hotel.
A really nice experience! Definitely we’ll recommend this Hotel for the Expedia users!
This used to be a best wester property. Hotel have seen better days and needs big time maintenance. Mattresses and pillows are terrible. Lower your expectations and take advatage of price, location, parking space included and 3 Cochinita tacos for breakfast Staff (who is extremely friendly, especially door man.) will help in any matter needed.
Very old and damaged baseboards, floors. Super old towels and sheets, the blanket was very old and stained. Bed mattress is hard. Too bad for the price 😆
Good deal, good spot
The stay was ok, it was good for the price, the location was great, I could go all over where I needed to by foot, stores and restaurants 5 minutes away walking
Affordable and good place to stay Would return in the future
Older hotel close to Centro. Well maintained and clean. Very friendly staff. Nice pool and patio. Simple but well equipped rooms (reading lamps, shelf style bed stands and desk. Very comfortable place.
Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Great location super helpful friendly staff,it’s a bit faded but the price reflects that, pool is great ,gym is iffy but rooms are fine it’s walking distance to main square and Santa lucia park is 2 mins Walk ,I would definitely return here, wifi is up and down but so are most hotels here,
Not so good as in fotos
Very conveniently located hotel near city parks and restaurants. Very helpful staff. Lovely pool area.
Not Bad
Friendly staff, good location but poor WIFI service
Amazing value for money
It was a great stay with amazing value. It was very close to the main square so we could happily walk around after parking our car. Highly recommend
Not good at all Sorry
Hotel in Historic Center
Nice large hotel in the Historic Center. Close in to everything. Very helpful staff. Decent WI FI.
The location is fantastic and the staff is super helpful and nice.
4 night stay
I stayed here 4 nights. The hotel is conveniently located and was good value. My room needed a bit of renovation but was comfortable enough.
Property is in good condition
Just perfect for our quick visit to Merida. The location can’t be beat close to the Centro, many restaurants and shops close by. The parking area is not large but is right next to the hotel. They may have an overflow lot somewhere but we did not have to use it or see it. The rooms are simply furnished but had everything we needed and liked (thick curtains to block out light and sound among other things.). There were a noisy group of young (foreign)tourists that came in around midnight that talked loud and dived into the pool well after the 10:00 PM closing time. I guess one of the risks of staying in a reasonably priced conveniently located hotel. Hotel staff was young, friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Hotel Maya Yucatán to any thrifty tourists (probably good for Mexican business people too, I would think.).
I like it because is so close to the center of old Merida.
Good stay
The hotel has 2 different parts. The old one has two floors and is facing the pool. Rooms are small and it is noisy if there are kids running around. We stayed at the tower on the 6th floor. Our room was modern, spacious and quiet. Hotel, toilets and room were clean. Reception service very pleasant. Location perfect.
Water drainage wasn't good after the shower. Other than that, staffs are friendly and supportive.
overall, nice place.
Overall, a nice stay. Good value. Really nice breakfast. The room was dated. I would stay again.
Greatness
We loved it, an amazing place to stay
Friendly staffs!! Approachable and sufficient work
Buena opcion, comodo y bien ubicado ademas de un excelente servicio por parte del personal
Limpio, amable y seguro, cerca del centro y muy conveniente
An excellent choice for the price and location. Do not expect the Four Seasons, but it's clean, affordable, nice pool, great staff, and great restaurant.
Staff was willing to help in everything I asked, but were not abled to because there was shortage of appliances. For example glasses to drink something while in the room. Yes, there are no glasses in the room, nor blankets. They did have blankets though when I asked for them.
Wonderful helpful staff, Alex always had a smile and was great!
The staff were great with me. Even provided a coffee maker and mug for my room, though I had to buy my own coffee . Wifi was ok, but really sketchy sometimes. Made it difficult and unstable during peak times for vmeetings. Everything worked fine, only 1 english TV channel, CNN, if that's a worry for you. Would definitely return again if the price was right.
Staff was good, Alex always had a smile! The pool should be cleaned and there are only a few chairs at the pool! A few times there seemed to be a beer party with loud music at the pool! Room was basic and good cleaning each day! The one TV channel in English was CNN but then it quit working!!
I enjoy the location. Close to the Gran Plaza to enjoy the tourist feeling.
Good spot, nice and well loctaed
Well located hotel, near the downtown / Centro area. It is easier to get to many of the best restaurants and tourist sites that Merida offers. Nice, slightly older hotel. The shower had been newly renovated, and it was great. Great water pressure and plenty of ho water.
Location is great. Staff is varied. Dont smile too much. 2 or 3 times operator didnt answer phone at night. Dont know too much about places and activities around.
Excellent price-quality relation
Excellent hotel, good promos, not luxury but cozy ambient
From the moment we arrived, the staff was very courteous and friendly, the hotel pool is great and they have Gym. The beds are a little hard but comfortable. Close to downtown and the small plaza. Very well balanced between the amenities and the price
It's cheap for a reason. Very dated rooms and ugly bathrooms. The price is appropriate for the condition of the property. But it shouldn't show up as a 3.5-star hotel here. It may have been one a couple of decades ago, but now I would hardly rate it a 2-star.
It was ok for a night or two max. It was clean, the front desk was helpful, but we were received with major renovations in the front
Algo viejo.
