A stay at Hotel Lumières Montmartre Paris places you in the heart of Paris, a 4-minute drive from La Machine du Moulin Rouge and 5 minutes from Sacré-Cœur Basilica. This hotel is 1.9 mi (3.1 km) from Palais Garnier and 3.1 mi (5 km) from Stade de France. Stay in one of 36 guestrooms featuring LCD televisions. Complimentary wireless internet access keeps you connected, and digital programming is available for your entertainment. Private bathrooms with showers feature complimentary toiletries and hair dryers. Conveniences include phones, as well as safes and desks. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and a 24-hour front desk.
Hotel is modern but shower/toilet is not spacious at all. No privacy screen between shower and bedroom. Area around the hotel is not great. Have to walk a fair bit to get to main areas. Good price, clean and modern and Le 975 is a great restaurant if dining - a short walk away.
Very nice staff, nice room, good location, well-priced, a very pleasant stay. Would choose again!
We stayed here for 3 nights during the Olympics. We had a great stay as the staff were really welcoming and helpful. The hotel is very well located, convenient for travelling around Paris. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but they are quite small and we would have liked the bathroom area to have been screened off in some way to have more privacy. The breakfast options were good.
Nice little hotel near Montmartre. The room was very small.
Lovely staff. Delicious breakfast. Clean rooms. Small, but perfect when you’re just using it as a home base. Area is a bit sketchy but doesn’t take long to get out of it. I felt safe
Did a one-night stay here. No A/C and a little small, but other than that the hotel was okay for a quick stay. It was close to restaurants, clubs, and metro.
Close to all transportation
I would stay again!
Cindy
The room is so tiny to move around, just easy to laid over for one night, bus 95 will take you to the center ( la Fayette shopping, hop on hop off bus, monte mark)
Location was easy access with a choice of Metro stations within 15 minutes walking. Bed was super comfy
We stayed for 2 nights, the room was excellent, clean although quite small & intimate. The staff were great, very helpful & friendly. The area is safe, 5 mins from the metro & near a lovely restaurant we ate at twice. I will stay again next time. Thank you
Great place and staff
Good value for money but not for light sleepers.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a decent size for just myself, it looked and smelled clean. There was a range of toiletries by the sink and a selection of clean but small towels. The bed was reasonably comfortable with a selection of pillows. I didn’t have breakfast but it smelled good from the lift. Unfortunately I ended up in a room directly opposite the lift which meant there was a lot of noise right outside my door at all hours. That in combination with the traffic noise from being at the front of the building, meant I did not sleep well any of the 3 nights I was there. Which for me is unusual as I’m normally a deep sleeper. Not ideal when you’ve got a full schedule of sightseeing! The location was fine, 10 minute walk from the metro/tram and a range of buses close by, but I wouldn’t say it’s the nicest area. Overall not bad value for money but I wouldn’t stay there again.
Modern and Simple
Overall: Modern and clean hotel with comfortable beds and manageable outdoor noise. However, small rooms, limited amenities, and inconvenient shower/bathroom placement might be drawbacks for some. Pros: -Modern and clean -Comfortable beds -Manageable outdoor noise Cons: -Small rooms (smaller than pictures) -No tea/coffee making facilities in room (vending machine available for a fee) -Shower inside wall behind TV, close to bed -Toilet had no lock -TV only has French channels
Not much breakfast choice
very small but works fine.
The staff at Hotel Lumieres are very accomadating and friendly. Even with our lack of French language skills we where treated very well.
Simplicity is key and this hotel did it perfectly. It was exactly what I needed for a solo 3 nights in Paris, ensuite, comfy bed, lots of space and in a nice, quiet area of Paris where I felt safe to walk around by myself and was easy access to the metro. My only con is that there was no inside lock/door guard/chain on the door and keys had to be handed in on leaving the hotel, making me feel slightly uneasy that someone could go into my room. I ended up propping a chair against the door whilst I was in the room for extra comfort.
No ac as advertised on external travel website, two fans were provided at checkin which made it bearable in the 90 degree heat, but upon someone cleaning our room they took one of the fans out of the room without notification stating that they were fully booked and needed the second fan for another room. Difficult to get a cab or Uber from hotel. Lift was down for a day. Overall clean and staff did what they could, but breakfast was subpar and the amenities could be updated to provide ac when temperatures are high, especially for the cost.
Loved the location.good transport link both bus and metro nearby.Lots of nice eating and drinking places close to hotel.Rooms a bit small and compact.
Walking distance to shops
Very good especially the receptionist the lady who
Would have loved a front room But was ideal and nice area
Small room but, nice and well put together in a loveley location.
The room is too small, you can latterly open the room door while you are in bed The shower area is the smallest in the world, you can’t bend to get anything from the shower top The toilet has no space at all Published photos has nothing to do with reality
Great service with everyone we came in contact with. Asked us multiple times how if we needed anything. Breakfast was very good
Excellent and in good location . Only drawback for me was that there is no tv channels in English
Great location and excellent service
A really useful hotel in the centre of Paris. Wonderful staff and the room is warm, clean and with an excellent shower. Great value
Not so safe neighborhood, small rooms without any view from the window just another house right infront of us.
Ok location. Clean rooms with good shower but not liking no bathroom door.
Room 100 is awful
We were put in the "accessible" room on the first floor. It's about 15 feet from the front desk, so you can clearly hear all the conversations of folks checking in and out. The room had no windows, just a tiny skylight in one corner. The bathroom - well, the shower was just half the bathroom with a curtain across it. There was no water barrier and the drain was mostly plugged so after 5 minutes the bathroom had flooded with water along with a portion of the bedroom. This went a long way to explain why the bathroom smelled like mold and death. The rest of the hotel might be nice? I'll never know, as the room on the first floor was by far the worst hotel room I've had in my life.
Staff lovely, charming and helpful
Recommended hotel
Super little hotel - clean, reasonable and good service. Very good beds
We had a nice time, small clean rooms in a good location. Staff was very friendly with exception of one man who did his best to fit French stereotypes.
The property and location was decent. About 20-30mins walk to moulin rouge and Sacré-Cœur. All other sites were about 10-20mins by uber. The room itself was extremely tiny and hard to move around without knocking into the other person. There is also no air conditioning which was very uncomfortable given the 2 days we were there it was extremely hot
Quiet and great view from my room of the courtyard
Great price Noisy street No air con Clean and compact Interesting property
Good location, tiny rooms with a great staff
The hotel was in a good location close to public transportation and in a calm neighborhood, but still with the perks of a well connected street in proximity to shops bakeries and restaurants while in front of a supermarket that turned out very handy for our evening needs.
Good hotel in great location
The hotel was clean and in a good location and the staff were friendly and courteous, the shower didn't run very well and the bed was OK, there were some great restaurants nearby
Good hotel good cafes/restaurants in area
Convenient hotel. Rooms a little small but its what we expected. Bed very comfortable. Probably could have done with a little bit more vacuuming but generally it was very clean. Friendly staff.
Location wise was fine, with bus stop nearby for direct to either L'Arc or Louvre. As stated previously - small rooms & no air-con, although most rooms had a fan. Beds comfy.
Very good affordable accommodation near Montmartre
Perfect location for wandering the Montmartre area but far enough away to be value-foe-money accommodation. My only issue was the lack of air conditioning in my room - Paris was sweltering under several days of 35+oC, and I could not open my window as the traffic noise was too great to sleep.
Hotel too far away from the main attractions
Friendly hotel, we visited during the hottest week of the year and there is no air con!! Was very sultry!!
Comfortable and reasonably priced
Nice room, presentable and clean but would have to say inadequate sound-proofing between rooms. All in all would stay there again.
Very nice location and the staff were friendly. No Complaints.
Excellent!
Very nice modern hotel! Room was small, but very clean with a comfortable bed and modern design. Very nice English speaking front desks staff. About a ten minute walk+20 minute metro ride to the city center. Great price for what we got. Area by the closest metro station had some nice food options as well. Grocery store across the street. Bakeries close by. Walkable to Sacred Heart Cathedral.
Great little hotel. Would stay here again.
Although Monmartre is not in what is considered to be the 'center' of Paris, it's a great location, easily accessible by Metro, Bus and Uber and is an area favoured by many. Place du Tertre is close, as well as Sacre Coeur (we walked there one morning). The hotel was very good. The rooms were small (the hotel itself if very compact), but they have made really good use of the space, particularly in the bathroom area. The shower was a pleasant surprise, as it's bigger on the inside than you expect when you see the door to it, is very clean, and has lovely modern tiles and rainfall shower head. The bed was big and comfortable, the bedding was high quality. I really liked the fact I could open the 'balcony' windows. The Wifi worked well in the room. There was a flat screen TV mounted in the wall. We stayed in room 202 - so I cannot speak for the other rooms, but I would choose to stay in this hotel again based on this one. It was modern, clean, good quality and functional. No frills however so if you want room service, restaurants and spa's then go for 4+ ratings and pay the price. I thought this hotel was good value for money. I would recommend it to friends and family. I did not see any air conditioning, so I am not sure how comfortable it would be in the warmer months. Paris is noisy so if you do open the window at night as we did, then expect to hear noise. I always take ear plugs when I travel so this wasn't an issue for me. Only 2 power sockets in the room
Fine if you just need a bed
This hotel is perfect for you if you don't need much space. The glorious, comfy bed takes up pretty much the whole room - which is fine if you don't need a bit of space to get ready. I found there was no where for me to get ready, there wasn't a proper table (the foldout one in the room slanted so everything just fell off) and there was no mirror by the table. The wardrobe was difficult to get in and out of, especially with a suitcase. The bathroom was my least favourite part of the room. First of all, there was no door to the bathroom, but a sliding door to separate the toilet from the rest of the room - this would have been fine if the shower had a door, and not a curtain which kept coming into the shower and ending up sticking on your skin. There was barely any room to put toiletries around the sink, as all that is offered is a small panel of glass, and some of this is taken up by a mini wooden shelf which hosts products offered kindly by the hotel. It's a nice little hotel, if you literally just need somewhere to sleep then this is fine. One thing I found odd was that they still use traditional keys for the room and they request you to leave these before you leave the hotel. We did this the first day, but when we came back they didn't check who we were and just gave us the key to the room we said we were staying in. Bit of a safety issue in my opinion. The surrounding area is nice, there are a few cafes, stores, a pharmacy and good transportation links.
Beautiful but TINY. Location was great as bus stop into central was on the doorstep.
Useful place for my Paris trips
generally really good revamped little hotel but the two shower heads would only work together and it wasn't fixed. lovely bed and sheets. could have done with another hanger.
Very nice hotel with lots of potential
I arrived at Hotel Lumieres on July 2nd for my first visit Paris. The hotel lists the metro Cilangcourt which is in a very bad area. Lamarck is more centrally located and without the threat of danger. The room was small as expected and clean. The front desk staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful to me, a first time visitor. The hotel does not have air conditioning, which was very much needed during the brief heatwave. Opening the windows made it difficult to sleep due to the loud noises from the street below. However, at certain times it was a non-issue. Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the hotel and would stay there again.
Clean hotel, small room
Quiet hotel and clean very friendly staff but very very small room
Good for a budget
The hotel is stayable. The rooms are "nice". They are simple. They are not fancy, spacious of homely. They are a good pit stop for your travels around Paris. If you want a place simply to crash that is affordable then this would be the place for you. The hotel is in an area close enough to the Metro stations. There are also buses 2 minutes from the hotel that can take you to main attractions in 20 or so minutes. The area has a few restaurants near that are cheap. There is also a supermarket across the road, however the hotel does not have anywhere to store food. All in all, this place is for a traveller on a budget who requires a bed and a shower after a busy day.
stay somewhere else
There is no security, staff asks to leave key when you go out and do not ask for ID when returning. other guests were robbed of wallets while staying there.
Hotel card board.
Upon arrival we were met by very friendly staff. The place is clean and modern. We booked three rooms. All three were small double rooms with very little space to walk around the bed even. Again, very clean. All looked exceptable until bed time. The walls are paper thin and we were kept up all night by the other guests. We could here people on the toilet next door to us. Never again.
For the price an excellent place
Arrived late at night, very polite staff. Good room nice shower and very good breakfast. Rue Damemont from the hotel to Abesse a very nice walk through shops of the neighbourhood and close to the monument eglise of Montmartre
This is the second time we have stayed at this hotel. It's modern, very comfortable bed, HD TV, and good internet. It's located close to our family who live in the 18th. Service is generally good but our check-in this time was slow. The hotel has a really good breakfast.
Good hotel, with cosy beds.
Hotel rooms are small but perfectly sized for what you need it for. Bed was super comfy especially after a day of walking around. Hotel is a bit out of the way, but easy to find and get to. For what we paid for the room for two nights i was really impressed.
Great stay
Had an enjoyable stay there. Efficient and friendly staff. Thank you
I had a great experience at this hotel . I thought it was very clean , new amenities and mostly the staff were really nice
Hotel is very near to restaurants
The hotel was overall clean and the location was near the metro station and across a bus stop. HOWEVER it is extremely small, like 5 steps across small, and the washroom is inside the room, there's no door that seperates the shower to the bedroom, so water can reach the bed if not careful. However for the location and the price is was pretty good.
Hotel staff - Pedro and Imed were amazing and went out of their way to be helpful. Thank you.
Excellent customer service
Hotel staff provided excellent customer service. They were extremely helpful when a few technical hitches arose during our stay
Worst hotel ever don't ever go to this place. The hotel staff has cheated and mishandled my credit card and have charged on my credit card for no reason I NEED REFUND and all the things that's been charged. I don't know how can they charge when the hotel expense is prepaid
Nice but can improve
Overall the room was cool. Booked a single room which was made up of two twin beds that were placed together which was useless because if you got near the center the beds split apart. The bathroom was nice and everything was clean. However the first morning of my stay I was awoken and disturbed 4 times to repeatedly check that I did not want service when there was a do not disturb sign on the door. The second morning I woke up to no power in my room at all and had to get ready and pack to check out entirely in the dark.
Nice handy place to stay in Montmartre
I only had one night stay here, the breakfast lovely -they had a good choice of cereals for healthy options. The wifi worked great and I found the staff helpful and friendly. I would stay here again.
3 nights in Paris..
Lovely little hotel! Very friendly staff who were incredibly helpful! Contemporary decoration and smartly presented throughout. Small room but clean and comfortable, actually much better than I expected for central Paris!! Great location, easy metro access. Would definately come back and stay here again!
Lovely romantic hotel
The hotel totally lived up to my expectations! It was clean, the staff where very friendly and the location was amazing. Montmartre is a lovely part of Paris and the metro network is unbelievable with time and distance in which I travelled. I would 100 percent recommend this hotel to any couple traveling to Paris! Eiffel Tower is around 25 mins from hotel via the metro! Would definetly stay again thanks for everyone!
Great affordable Paris Stay
Great not only for the cost, but for many reasons - friendly, clean, great bed, location, well done rooms. Perfect for me!
very clean and tidy.
Lovely hotel... small cosy rooms very clean and great services, would definately stay again! :)
Lumieres , a light in Montmartre
It was q very pleasant stay but too short for Paris. We really enjoyed the surrounding neighborhood of Montmartre which is quite different from our stay in central Paris. Enjoyably bohemian in flavor, some fun restaurants and a wonderful evening at the Moulin Rouge for dinner and show.
weekend trip
Staff was very nice and accommodating. Good choices at breakfast. The room was clean. However, the room was extremely small with only a view of the fire escape stairs. The neighborhood was questionable at night. Location was not ideal, but only a 10 minute walk to the metro.
First trip to paris
8 minute walk to Metro with several restaurants and bakeries near by, breakfast typical with good choices and coffee. Metro crowded in morning with "rush hour" Room was clean and comfortable. I might consider staying closer to Eiffel tower area to avoid Metro next time but have no criticism of the hotel. A must do is the train ride in Monmartra to the church with surrounding cafes and bars.
Very clean and well-designed - good location
Very clean and modern. Extremely pleasant and helpful front desk staff. Bus stop right outside the hotel will take you to the Louvre. Three food stores within 1/2 block. Numerous restaurants and patisserie nearby. Just a few blocks from the Metro. Only drawback is that the hotels room itself is very tiny - so best for solo traveler or a couple. However it is very well-designed so you have everything you need. Our room faced busy street but very quiet and efficient fan was provided so was able to sleep very comfortably with the windows closed. Overall a very good experience. I recommend.
Greatly recommended!
Really lovely place. Pleasant staff. Very small room but was perfect for just two people. There was lots of noise in the mornings though, thumps, bangs, housekeeping. Which was quite annoying. But probably bot avoidable. Overall great stay!
Location isn't great
Firstly the hotel is quiet and clean. The staff are nice and friendly enough although you'll only ever see one at a time and maybe the cleaners. Location sucks as its far north of the city centre. Trust me it's really a trek to get to and from the hotel everyday. My advice is to get the subway to and from Guy Moquet and its only a 5-10mins walk from there. The hotel rooms are tiny. Literally enough room for a double bed and thats it. The room was stuffy and smelled like it needed more air circulation. But it was clean and tidy and nice in all other aspects. Really I can't stress enough to all that you must be prepared to walk, subway and bus it in everywhere you decide to go as there is nothing to see or do around the area where the hotel is. And as transport on the subway and buses is expensive enough you may be better off renting bikes. Apart from the location and room size, this hotel is a great cheaper option for a weekend away.
Great getaway for couples
This is a perfect hotel for couples who want to stay near Montmartre on a Paris trip. It was easily accessible and just a few minutes' walk from the metro (Jules Jauffrin) and had a great shuttle service to the airport in the morning that was hardly more expensive (and much more reliable) than taking the RER.
Good for a short stay in Paris
In a nice area (within 10mins walk to/from Lamarck Caulaincourt and Jules Joffrin), hotel staff is friendly and helpful, clean. A bit noisy - could hear lots of noises from other rooms.
Not great
Don't believe they offer parking!!! They have ONLY 3 parking spots for the entire hotel. They gave us directions to a parking garage that is expensive and requires u to leave ur keys overnight while your car is parked there, which by the way is far in a not so great area. Room was tiny but shower was wonderful. Will never stay here again.
Very small rooms as described but well appointed. Breakfast was not included in the booking price and was far too expensive for what was on offer. The hotel's location is a little further from the main attractions of Montmartre than I realised but was close to one or two lovely restaurants.
very nice trip
great hotel for the location ,great value, very nice staff
Small but cosy hotel in Montmarte
Hotel Lumieres is a little hotel but we enjoyed our stay there. Pros: comfortable bed, clean, many toiletries, nice atmosphere, shower was good, 3 pillows per person Note: no air-conditioning, fan provided (but it was quite chilly when we were staying there so it wasn't an issue); small space; yakitori restaurant next door is really good Cons: far from metro station, line 12 doesn't serve many attractions so need to change lines often Overall, a pleasant stay.
Nice, friendly hotel
Stayed for 3 nights during heatwave! Arrived on an early morning flight but hotel happy to look after luggage until our room was available. Came back from day out to find hotel had provided a fan in our room to help with the hot nights. Flight home was not until 10pm but once again hotel happy to store luggage so we could make the most of our last day in Paris. Would definitely stay at Hotel Lumineres again as staff friendly and ideally located to visit tourist attractions.
Extremely small rooms without a/c, fridge, iron, or safe. You have to return your room key to the desk while out for the day. When returning at night we had to wait outside and I got a bell, ten minutes later someone would let us back in.... Took was entered and tidied but we never got fresh towels or sheets. I would not stay here again.
Average conditions
Too expensive for what the hotel has to offer overall.
Very clean affordable getaway in Monmatre area.
Stayed for 4 nights on our first visit to Paris. Hotel situated near supermarkets and local shops. Walking distance to Jules Joffin metro station. Bed very comfortable in small double room with fantastic shower. We would stay here again and recommend for an affordable weekend away.
Excellent use of small space
Knowing that space is of a premium in Paris was not surprised at the size of the room. Everything was there but very cosy and single beds were right on top of each other so not very suitable for anyone other than couples. Interesting part of Paris with plenty of good restaurants and transport to main attractions within reach.
Pleasant hotel, very well located. Staff ok, friendlier and more respectful than I usually find in Paris where I travel a lot, staying in various hotels.
Real Paris
Standard hotel, small but comfy. It's off the beaten path but close to a metro and offers a real Parisian experience away from the crowds
Great value for money
I was never so pleasantly surprised by a hotel. It was outstanding value for a weekend break in Paris. 10 Mins walk from the centre of Montmartre, very clean, incredibly comfortable beds, friends staff.
Worth it!!
I have absolutely loved my room while in Paris! It is small (all rooms inParis are), but so comfortable. I had read previous reviews about the possible noise level from the streets, but you can barely hear it! The shower water is always hot, and the staff is super friendly. The best part is the location! Though away from most of the attractions, you can take 1 bus (95) for 2 euros and be at the Lourve, Notre Dame, and so much more in about 10 minutes! The bus stop is right outside of the hotel lobby.. I would definitely book this hotel again.
Good but don't be mislead by some of the reviews
After reading previous reviews I felt this was a must for our stay in Paris, however having been I would maybe have chosen somewhere else. Yes, it is in walking distance to the metro, however it was a little far out to be in walking distance of a lot of Paris sights- Scare Coeur was the only one within manageable walking distance. The hotel and room was clean, however the room was VERY small (a usual for Paris), which contradicts some reviews on here. The bed was a little uncomfortable and seemed lopsided- making me roll into the middle but was not awful. I enjoyed our stay, I just wanted to make sure future holiday makers are fully informed.
Comfortable room, not quite central Montmartre.
Wasn't quite in the location I wanted. Long walk from nearest metro. Small room but comfortable bed and good breakfast, well laid out and good value.
Excellent stay in Lumières!!!
Me and my girlfriend had amazing time staying at the hotel and it was our second time and we will stay again in coming weeks!! Our room was amazing, clean and in perfect condition!!! Staff were always very helpful and kind no matter time of the day our night we needed any kind of help! I need to mention Brice and Latoyia who were very helpful during our stay!!! Hotel is suited in great location with metro station in walking distance as well as shops around the hotel!!! I am highly recommending this hotel!!!
First Time Paris
I would recommend this hotel if you are looking for clean renovated rooms and bathrooms. However, both of them are small compared to American standards. It's a 10 mins walk to Julles Joffrin subway station. I always walked to the station because I made stops at the pastry shop in the morning and then in the evening. Several tiny grocery stores are on the way including carrefour market. Sacre Couer is the closest major attraction, you can see the building from Julles Joffrin station.
Cozy in Paris!
I loved my hotel, I would recommend it for someone staying by themselves, or as a couple. It was cozy and clean, modern, the amenities were basic but just what I needed. I was in Paris to visit the city, not stay in my room! The staff was friendly, was able to recommend places to visit, the metro station close by. Nice quiet neighbourghood, walking distance to small boulangerie, bistro, pharmacy, shops and restaurants, etc. The surroundings are nice, looking out the window down the street you see typical Paris balconies with flowers. Beautiful!
Nice hotel, close to public transportation, centre
Very kind staff, friendly, easy reaching to down town and restaurants, super markets, safe location.
Great modern hotel
I found the room one of the larger I stayed at on the last trip and it was very modern and updated... the staff at the front desk was awesome and very helpful. I would stay here again if I was t have to stay in that area of Paris
Worst
The worst hotel in my life I ever seen
The staff is very friendly. Very good breakfast ( even GF options. ) The rooms extremely small. Can’t move. The rooms located door to door, you can’t sleep all night because people are noisy, very bad sound insulation.
