I always stay here. Consistent with the service and clean. Across the street is a French bakery where I get my morning coffee and croissant! Lots of shops, and dining -all walkable!
Good value, great staff
Fantastic staff, great amenities, prime downtown location.
Hotel was clean. At check in the two ladies were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean bathroom was big but bathroom counter tiny. As a woman more counter space please.
The service was poor Staff unpleasant
Prime downtown Portland location with easy access to excellent dining, public transport, and comfortable rooms. The staff were unpretentious and very helpful and friendly. I'd definitely stay here again.
The beds were comfortable. This was a great location!
Three stars, not four
The hotel was fine. Minimally staffed. I didn’t know daily housekeeping was not included and would have liked that information going in. Bathrooms are very outdated… shower head at 5 feet or so. Coffee in lobby is cheap with little creamer pods.
I love how close it’s too everything.
good stay
I do love the color and decor of this hotel. I have stayed one previous time and that was far more outstanding than this stay. Maybe because I booked through a service instead of the hotel. My room was smaller than I anticipated. My refrigerator didn’t work and I didn’t notice until I arrived back to the room after work the following day and all of my door dash leftovers were spoiled. The front desk comped me $30 for amenities and had maintenance fix it. I didn’t notice there was a full length mirror behind the bathroom door so I went out and bought one. Then noticed the mirror attached to the bathroom door. So that was my own oversight. The water took a while to heat but once it was heated it was nice. The nespresso didn’t work and I tried it in 3 different outlets, I finally got it working. Location was convenient to get out and walk around on foot to various places. I walked about for nearly 4 hours. Concierge Phillip was amazing and helped me with my massive amount of luggage and getting my car in and out of valet.
The heater made super loud noises during the night and woke us up few times
Great stay. I was surprised at the size of the room, but all in all, good stay
This was a very stylish and comfortable hotel with super friendly and accommodating staff. Would recommend!
The room heating was not working and it was very cold, in the middle of the night they moved me to a different room, I got sick, around 11:30AM I called the front desk and told them that because of what happened last night I need to check out at 12:30PM instead of 12:00Pm the front desk supervisor rudely said NO you must be out of the room by 12:00. This is a terryhotel and not worth the money they charge
Excellent hotel in convenient downtown location
Love this place. Friendly staff, free happy hour craft ale. Room was small but perfectly laid out and cosy and I found working for up to 5 hours at a time very compfortnable (as it was a work trip and I had a lot to catch up on between meetings). Love the free pinball tables downstairs for a bit of a break and the location is great. No breakfast but there are so many good cafes nearby it was fine.
Love this place
The front desk staff was wonderful!!
Nice boutique hotel
Great and cool design Staff and reception very friendly 👍
Good location but small and dated
Location was good, easy access to things like Powell's books and great restaurants. The staff was really friendly and helpful. But the room was on the small side and felt really dated and small, especially the bathroom. The metal sink design gave it a major hospital feel
Liked the Nespresso machine in the room and the coffee service in the lobby. Didn’t like hearing the Friday evening (late) party in the room next door or the party retuning to that room at 3:00 a.m. The walls are thin. Heard flushing toilets.
Friendly
Friendly staff. Very welcoming and attentive. Fun natured and competent. Dog friendly.
Great stay
Thanks to Expedia adding extra perks for being a gold member(half off on parking and late checkout at 2pm… nice!) the hotel itself is cool. The art is fantastic (local artists from Seattle and such ), the ambiance is hip, artsy and fun. The game room with free pinball and video games was a nice addition to the complimentary beer hour the hotel provided . The room was lovely. I stayed in the JR. suite which had great decor and two bathrooms!!!! Nice soaking tub inside my suite. The overall hotel decor is a mix of 1920 architecture with modern updates (my favorite) so it feels luxury yet artistic enough not to feel like a standard hotel. At least to me. The bed is incredibly comfortable and the stay was a quiet. Lastly, kudos to the amazing staff who work there both Am and Pm as I engaged with them all. Thank you to them for making my stay feel special. Customer service is a must for me and these guys delivered as they went above and beyond to provide that. Overall it a magical experience. I live in Portland and make it a point to stay at our local hotels 1x a month…so if you want something beyond the pale with a great value paired with lovely ambiance and exceptional service, stay here.
Beautiful and funky hotel in an older building like many in Portland. Easy drive-up valet, quick check-in with friendly staff, great benefits through VIP access. Room clean and cozy, comfortable bed. 2 coffee shops 1/2 block away plus in-room nespresso. No bar or restaurant but many close by. Like many older hotels the heating/AC system is also old and fairly noisy, I had to turn it off to sleep - only reason I didn't give 5 stars.
The Expedia listing should have highlighted the parking costs and situation in downtown portland. 55 dollars a night to park is obscene. Between the parking fees, 'guest amenity fee', and various taxes the total cost is nearly twice the listed room price.
Great Little gem of a hotel
Those is a great little gemstone of a hotel, conveniently located in the center of everything.
Beautiful decor, our corner room was had full windows with city view. Comfortable king bed, nice amenities. Lovely common areas. They even have an evening social hour with free micro brew on tap. We will definitely stay in this hotel/room again when we’re back in Portland.
Loved it
Loved this place. Very clean, nice decor. Very friendly staff.
Great!!!
Excellent location and very friendly staff.
Great
The hotel is beautiful and comfortable. The staff was very nice and they have some fun perks like beer from 5-6 pm and free arcade games.
3rd or 4th stay and ALWAYS top tier service and customer service. Rooms very comfortable and well-appointed.
Nice couples getaway
Lovely historic hotel restored with modern amenities. Other than the parking valet not being able to drive a manual transmission, the stay was excellent and the location was perfect!
Great place to stay ,
Fantastic place. Nice and quite. Close to restaurants.
Great staff! Clean room. Comfy bed. Bathtub - yay!
Great Stay! Great location! Great Staff!
Front desk staff went above & beyond on friendliness & helping us with our stay. Really fun decor- really great location- nicely centrally located for easy walk to places or hop on the MAX. We definitely recommend it!
Fantastic spot
Hotel Lucia worked out better than we ever could have hoped! Extremely comfy room, very nice staff, two blocks north of the Max station so getting there from the airport was incredibly easy. Very reasonable cost for great quality, too.
The walls were paper thin. We had a group next to us that ranted and were boisterous until 2:00am in the morning. It will be the first and last time we stay here. We also were surprised by the additional charge at the hotel of $33.64 for Expedia hosting this site? I chose this place thinking our total would be $153.00 with the Black Friday special. We follow through and surprise!! This should not be legal. Never mind Expedia being impossible to talk to anyone. So we are done.
Love this place
Great stay
We loved it!!
It’s a unique boutique hotel. We stay each year.
Unique and cozy!
We loved the uniqueness and fun and funky decor. The historical photographs throughout are lovely. The room was clean and well appointed. Our check in was seamless and very friendly. Everyone was accommodating and professional. We will return!! Thank you!
Low hot water
Hotel is located close to the venue….within walking distance. The staff was friendly and helpful, too. Parking was available directly across from the hotel
Good location
Beautiful property! Lovely boutique design. Will return in the future!
C2 Lucia
Hotel Lucia is our preferred Hotel im Portland. Consistency in quality is IMPORTANT for this former road warrior.
This is a nice hotel right in downtown Portland. I wasn’t there long enough to experience much of the hotel but the staff was friendly and my room was comfortable and clean. The area around the hotel had lots of options for walking to get coffee and doing some shopping.
The room was very small, with barely any area around the bed. The bathroom was cramped, with a sink too big for it. I know it's an old building, and sometimes the architecture is weird. This hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, and expensive parking. Use the lot across the street and you'll pay about 50 bucks less. The room itself was quiet and clean, and the bed was comfy. If you're just looking for a place to sleep and bathe, it'll do the job just fine. If you also want an experience with your hotel, there's better ones up the street.
Glad I Tried
The room was great for the price, but the best thing was the amazing staff at the hotel. The valets, front desk staff, and the night porter were the epitome of great customer service and hospitality. I will definitely be back and book a bigger room for more space now that I know. Also excellently situated to multiple sites of interest around the area. Worth staying in when visiting Portland.
Good location and nice staff
Old, run down hotel
It was an old run down hotel, not a very clean environment. Beds were uncomfortable and it was filthy where the mattress and the bed frame came together.
I arrived late in the evening, around 8 pm on 17th Nov. Despite being the only guest to check-in at that time, the Valet left my key lying around and attached my tag to somebody else's key! And this level of casual service after charging $55 for parking! This additional rate should have been mentioned during booking, but it was deceptively left out. I was asked to give 10-15 mins to bring out my car. Even the wrong car wasn't brought out after I checked out. That was when the mixup was detected. Although the Valet on duty early morning was prompt to get my car out, it would have been an expensive delay had I been even a bit late for my checkout. The coffee maker in the room didn't work. The bedsheets didn't seem to be fresh. Eco-friendly does not mean 'sharing bedsheets between different Guests'. That's unacceptable.
There’s not a restaurant at the hotel, however door dash delivers.
Hotel charges $55 dollars per night if you decided to take your car
My stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences I've had. There was no doorman or staff available to assist with luggage. The valet wasn't present when I arrived. The valet driver drove extremely aggressively. Parking costs an exorbitant $55 per night. Additionally, both the shower and sink had issues with low water pressure and poor design.
No food. No hot water
Hotel outdated. Bathroom need to be updated!
Great place
Great staff and hotel , very near to many shops and restaurants
Great front desk staff!
My second stay here. Nice and clean hotel very well located in Portland’s downtown. Will certainly stay there again.
Staff was friendly and professional.
Loved that it was close to alot of really good restaurants.
Bathrooms need to be updated. Didn’t know they allowed dogs until I heard barking on our first night. If I had known that, I would’ve picked a different hotel. The per night resort fee was ridiculous - all it included was weak coffee in the morning and a beer in the afternoon. Hotel staff was pleasant and other than the dog, hotel was very quiet. Would of been nice if they cleaned the room daily. Not just the third night.
In all my travels to over 40 countries, I have never gotten DOWN GRADED!!!! in a hotel. I specifically made sure to book a suite and was downgraded to a regular room :(. Not only did we get downgrade into a smaller room, it was so LOUD from the air conditioning. But the manager was nice enough to finally give us the room the we have originally book the next day. The staffs were nice :)
Great location, comfortable room
Amazing night staff!
I have stayed in more hotels than I can count. The service from the two late night gentlemen is above and beyond the best service we have ever received. They were both incredibly kind and accommodating. We will always stay at Hotel Lucia when in Portland solely based on their service and hospitality. Thank you for making us feel so welcome and comfortable during our short trip. We can’t wait to return!
The hotel is budget friendly and well kept.
Staff is incredibly helpful and kind
Car got broken into even though we used valet parking in valet garage. WHAT??!?!!
Nice hotel
Really nice hotel. Loved my room.
Overall experience was not great
Stuck in a handicapped room. Sink was terrible, shower was impossible, bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, pillows gave me a headache, ZERO view, light from a conference room permeated the “blinds”all night, dark, disappointing room.
Great hotel
Great location and friendly staff!
Unfortunately no kitchen attached for food room service options, especially in the evenings.
Nice lobby and friendly staff. I just wish the room was a bit better for a deluxe room I was told there were no upgrade options from it. I don’t expect the hotel to do anything extravagant but I was hoping they would have some sort of happy birthday message for my wife atleast to make the stay more memorable. Overall we enjoyed the stay thank you
It's a fun, funky hotel and the staff is very friendly.
Stay was fine. Nothing exceptional. Bed was comfortable and there was free coffee in the lobby in the morning.
Awesome place
The hotel is well located in downtown Portland.
Central location
All great. Front desk amazing.
The housing and fentanyl issues pervading North America is evident in some of the downtown areas. But it's not the fault of the hotel, or any hotel in Portland. It's just a fact everywhere at the moment.
Excellent hotel with a cool vibe. Super quiet room. Loved the parking across the street.
Loved the facility and smooth jazz playing upon entering the room was a plus. Would definitely stay here again.
Bathroom was a little small
Hotel Lucia Review
A lovely hotel in a good location. Room/bathroom a little tired and bathroom on the smaller side. Our room had a great view but still a little noisy as others have mentioned. All in all we had a great stay.
Hotel Lucia makes me feel at home in Portland!
Lots of arts. Great customer service
We had originally booked a room at another hotel in the Pearl District, but after reading reviews that talked about the noise and feeling of unsafety due the large population of homeless people in that area, we decided to book at the Lucia. We were pleasantly surprised to find that it is not only a beautifully stylish heritage property, but that it was also refreshingly quiet and well appointed. Arriving to a gorgeous room with a great local jazz station playing on the radio was a warm welcome. The concierge was very helpful and friendly, and the vintage video game and pinball machines were a nice touch. The only thing we felt would make it better is if they had a bar in their beautiful, art-filled lounge areas. If you're looking for a night cap (as we were after our concert), the hotel two doors down has a nice enough bar.
Lovely staff, very welcoming, professional and helpful. Funky decor, hip and stylish. Found it to be in an excellent and central location. Smallish rooms but very comfortable bed and very quiet!! Loved our stay!!
Paying an unexpected "Amenity Fee" of almost $100 for 3 day stay put me off. Only coffee available for breakfast and only had cream first day! After that only awful vanilla creamers. No attempt by staff to correct when brought to their attention. It's a little thing but if they can't do that...? Left me annoyed. I will go elsewhere next time.
Just Ok
This room was very small. The only places to sit were the bed and one desk chair in a room for two. What kind of hotel doesnt include an arm chair at this price? All of the site photos show one. The main plus was that the bed was very comfortable but I will try somewhere else on my next trip to Portland. Lots of hotels in the area.
We loved the artsy feeling of the hotel. Within walking distance to lovely restaurants was a plus. The staff was amazing and very accommodating. We just loved the hotel and would recommend it to anyone looking for a unique hotel in Portland.
Staff was good, but the hotel doesn't have many amenities. Bathrooms need to be updated. Air conditioner made a loud clicking sound at night.
Staff are so nice and helpful. Bed was comfy and room was clean.
