It is a great hotel. I will stay there again
The staff was absolutely wonderful!
The room in which we were initially placed had only one armchair, and the mattress was terrible as it folded into the middle. The interior was dated and the room was small. We requested a new room because of the mattress and the second room was nicer with bathroom upgrades, two armchairs, and a new mattress. The breakfast dining area is located in the basement and there is a distinct and strong musty odor in the area. It is quite unpleasant. The staff was excellent and assisted us as best they could. They were responsive to our needs and took time to make our stay comfortable.
Always a wonderful stay
Very charming boutique hotel and warm personnel
Our room was extremely hot and we were unable to sleep. Called the front desk only to have them argue with us. Overall not even close to 5 star hotel service. Very argumentative staff and uncomfortable.
Spacious room and bathroom. Hotel staff very helpful and courteous. I'm taking back 1 star due to the property condition. Water drained very slowly in the shower and they couldn't do anything about it because it was due to entire plumbing system. Also there was water leak in the toilet bowl.
staff and service excellent
Love the hotel. The staff, out of this world friendly and helpful. The hotel itself in great condition and very charming. The only problem is the location. If you want to stay outside of the old city, you will love it. Otherwise it’s a good 30-40 minute hike or a good $20-$60 Uber ride each way. I would highly recommend this hotel to someone who has rented a car or has business in that particular area.
Beautiful boutique hotel but away from everything up a big hill
Location of this hotel is excellent, very quiet. Service people are professional and respectful.
Perfect location to walk to a variety of places, i.e Stadio Olimpico, Pantheon. You get to see the residential part of Roma, get a feel for how they live.
Exceptional Hotel
Had a wonderful stay, the rooms are tastefully decorated, beds are super comfortable, full marble bathroom. The staff are very professional and really friendly. The hotel is located is a beautiful area; very quiet but 20mins walk through the park into the Spanish steps and center. Would not hesitate to stay again. Thank you to all for making our stay so lovely.
Sophisticated
Sophisticated hotel, cozy, quiet! …nice neighborhood.
Wonderful peaceful hotel in Rome
This is a wonderful hotel and the perfect place to stay if you want to be away from the crowds of Rome. The hotel is located on a hill top in a beautiful neighborhood. We loved our stay here and were very glad to be close to the Villa Borghese but not near the main tourist areas.
We've stayed here before and loved the hotel. The staff is always awesome and the breakfast is one of the reasons we love to stay here. However, we had a problem with our AC in our room and it wasn't addressed until the next day. There were a couple of other small issues.
Beautiful boutique hotel with stellar customer service. Located in a very quiet area around many international embassies. Hotel bar and food terrific. Truly impeccable.
Wonderful stay in Rome
Hotel Lord Byron is a wonderful hotel in Rome. We had a four night stay there in March and thoroughly enjoyed our time. Location - in the Parioli district, just north of the Borghese Gardens. You’re not in the thick of the hustle & bustle of the city, but we loved that about it. It’s a 15 min walk to the Spanish steps through the gardens, which in itself is beautiful. It was really easy to get a taxi for trips a bit further afield or when we were feeling lazy! Room - we had a superior room overlooking the front courtyard of the hotel. The art deco style is evident throughout the hotel and maintained in the rooms - it was like being on a Gatsby set, we loved it. The bed was incredibly comfy and of a good size. The bathroom was marble throughout and felt very indulgent. Breakfast - the breakfast was one of the best things about the hotel. It was of a continental style, with plenty of buffet options to choose from, but the kitchen would also make things like omelettes/eggs Benedict etc to order if you so wished. It was also a real treat to have silver cutlery and china crockery for every meal! The breakfast is taken downstairs in another sumptuous dining room - it’s on basement level but does not feel dark or dingy, like you sometimes experience in smaller hotels. The coffee was incredible too! Service - the hotel staff are impeccably attentive. From our initial greeting to check out, all of the staff made us feel very welcome. They speak excellent English too!
This property doesn’t have good customer service and it’s not a 5 star hotel. 5 star is St. Regis. They don’t care about your money. Read the negative review. I experienced it. They refused to refund me for a valid reason and their hotel partners even called then about how bad it was and they should refund me. They refused. Everyone says the rooms are outdated, service is terrible and they overcharged and I believe that. American Express has called this hotel on my behalf, Hyatt hotels, Chase, and others and they still refuse. Don’t stay here. Expedia wasn’t helpful either.
We always stay here both because it is near borghese and because it is a small hotel
The staff was exceptional!! I cannot say enough about how wonderful the staff was - from the breakfast waiters who greeted us every morning to the front desk that helped us book tickets (even when no tickets were available). The hotel offered a boutique style experience. Great breakfast and great amenities. The room was very comfortable and refreshed every day. The only thing that would have made it more wonderful is if there was a small restaurant/grocery store nearby.
Lovely quiet and comfortable hotel
We had a room with terrace and it was very comfortable. Air conditioning worked really well which was very much appreciated. Large room. Lovely quiet hotel
Very helpful staff and great breakfast.
Although there was a problem and the room with balcony I paid for was not available, the staff was super gracious in offering free dinner and other free services to make up for the fact that I received a room below the one I paid for
Beautiful property priced well for a 5 star, staff was fantastic and super helpful. A little further out but still walking distance.
Say's 5-Star, But Not! Unprofessional Manager
(1) Front Desk Manager Rude, Unprofessional - Threatened to call police on us because we were upset with room. (2) Waited 90+ minutes for room after travel to hotel (3) Gave us worst room in hotel, sagging mattress, etc. (4) Wouldn't move us to room we booked. (5) Lied about providing iron, said it was illegal
The hotel is superbly art deco decorated but the rooms need a little uplift. I stayed here a few years ago and it was superb. The service is fantastic and the restaurant and breakfast room beautiful.
The hotel is located in a residential area, very quiet. Has a very good restaurant. The room is old, asking for an overhaul,
It is a nice hotel but far from the major sites except Borghese. Please budget taxi affairs every day.
Don't Stay In The Basement.
We booked a family room that had adjoining door, so we'd be close together, but still maintain our privacy. Unfortunately the rooms were located in the basement which had a damp smell and must not be completely sealed from the outdoors, as we noticed an ant infestation in one room, and we found a small slug in the other room complete with slime trail. This even happened without us opening the windows. I also noticed a patch of what appeared to be black mold in our bathroom, which is not only unsafe to breathe, but also disgusting. It was not the luxury experience we are used to, or had hoped for. Other than those issues, the staff were all friendly, and the breakfast was decent, and we had lunch on the first day, which was pretty good. Its located in an area of Rome that isn't so close to the monuments, and I'm going to stay closer to city center next time. Also, there is no real connection to Lord Byron, and the Art Deco decor is less period, but more 1980's deco inspired which was disappointing. Overall, it was ok, but anyone reading this should request a room on one of the upper floors.
Quaint little hotel tucked away outside the city walls near Borghese gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful. Quiet room with plenty of space even for the standard double. Would definitely recommend
Top service
The service was impeccable! The entire staff was very professional and accommodating. I Hotel is adorned with art. I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a quiet location that is tranquil and inspirational!
Very arrogant and misleading staff. My husband has sleep apnea and we are VIP members and were eligible for upgrade but the manager first told us that no rooms were available, then told that for additional $100 eu they will upgrade and my husband agreed. When we received the bill that for $190 eu and she lied that that what was quoted. We stayed several times at this place and we will not come back.Very dishonest and upsetting experience.
The entire staff was great. Very friendly and helpful. the American breakfast was the best and I will definitely stay there whenever I'm in Rome. All the best to the staff. They were great!!!
There was a lot of construction that we were not warned about, and the front desk person lied to us about it and said it was unplanned but it was major construction. It was very overpriced and not as nice as in the images.
Pros: nice hotel, excellent breakfast buffet, nice and friendly staff. Con: elevator was not working the whole time we were there. I was charged city taxes for two rooms upon check out,in the amount of 56 euros. My booking specifically said one family room with a special request of two single beds and one double bed.Orbitz , please clarify and would like a refund of 28 euros back to my credit card.My booking reference is 7520257061463. Thank you. Victoria Madlambayan.
Best in ROME...?
Reception and check-in was world class! GRAZIA does a fantastic job👏
Real home from home - reception staff like family members from day 1. Absolutely brilliant!
Exceptional hotel
We originally booked an apartment In the Trastevere area on hotel.com only to find out upon arrival in Rome that there was an error and the apartment we paid for was unavailable. Hotel.com rebooked us at the Lord Byron. The location was not where we hoped to be originally, but otherwise it exceeded all our expectations. Highly recommend this hotel, everything was perfect- great service beautiful clean and comfortable rooms, wonderful breakfast, kind and helpful staff. Exceptional hotel, would definitely stay here again.
Incredible stay
There is not enough good things to stay about my hotel experience. The service is incredible and the staff will do everything to meet your every request. I am so glad that I stayed, and I will come again soon!!!
Excellent traditional Roman hotel like being at home!
Very neat and warm staff. I had a lot of complimentaries, water, fruits, bath slippers. Good breakfast
NOT THE SAME AS THE PHOTOS
NOT THE SAME AS THE PHOTOS! The hotel is dilapidated. Book just 1 night to try out if you wish to see it with your eyes - Beware that the hotel denied my request for refund after I left after 1 night. I booked 3 nights. Upon arrival, I was disappointed already with the condition of the hotel - on my estimate, partly renovated several years ago and partly dating back to a decade or so. The furniture had scratches and worn-off marks everywhere. The mirror was physically eroded and stained. Had only instant coffee on the table - all facilities the equivalent of a 3-star motel. On my first night, I was woken up by the noise from next room from 12 am to 1 am. Surely something can be said of unbecoming behaviours, but I would not expect this kind of experience in a 5-star hotel. Called front desk but essentially nothing could be done apart from asking the other guests. The very next day I asked to check out and asked if I could have refund of the 2 nights I would not stay - the hotel told me that it was only because I booked through hotels.com so that they could only deal with the request from the platform. After I came back and asked platform for refund, the hotel denied it even though they apologised for my disappointing experience. You are not appologetic, so do not pretend it - I wish the 200 something usd I wasted on you is the last money you could trick people into paying.
Beautiful historic property once owned by the Vatican to accommodate boo guests. The original Art Deco design is lovely. Next to the Belgian embassy, the neighborhood is high end but not many restaurants and shopping close by. About 30 minutes walking will place you in the Active zones
Very friendly staff, good service, clean rooms, and delicious breakfast!
Perfect!!! Good service , good cleanliness!! Thanks
Elegant neighborhood with some great restaurants and galleries and gardens. Property is townhouse elegant but rooms needs a bit of an upgrade. Tables and furnishings gave many scratches , big , chunky awkard furnishings that needs upleep.
Unique and beautiful property. We had a room with a beautiful terrace. The staff was very nice.
The hotel is in a very pleasant and quiet residential area just outside the city limits and very close to the National Gallery of Modern Art, the Borghese Gallery and Gardens/Park, and the Zoo. This is a fantastic location for relaxing in after returning from the tourist filled ancient city centre attractions. Both the Hotel and the staff are extremely pleasing - the hotel exudes a cultured air and has a sense of stately calm and grandeur. The staff are very willing and helpful in all manners. The restaurant food is prepared well and delicious but the choice is not large and there is a small wine list. Our room was a suite. It was spacious and like the rest of the hotel had a 1920s feel to it although a bit ‘tired’ in appearance. The bathroom was big - double sink, lots of marble, with separate shower and wc. The suite is advertised as panoramic. This meant that it had 3 windows on different aspects but the view through one window was obscured (the glass was permanently fogged). The bed was queen sized but just...divine. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Staff was respectful and very courteous. There is no gym though.
Decent hotel not luxury
Hotel is close to a park quiet area. It’s done in Art Deco style but Needs to be updated. Staff and service is good. Bathrooms are very old not nice. The Mattress was not comfortable it was concave. There is no iron. I would rate under 4 stars.
We only stayed one night. Nice that it was out of the way of the hustle and bustle of the city center. Impeccable white glove service. Room was clean. Staff was extremely helpful. The restaurant was amazing. I highly recommend this hotel and will definitely stay again.
Terrific hotel
Lovely Boutique Hotel in quiet area of Rome but still near to all the attractions and a wonderful park. The staff were so helpful and polite. We also had a meal in the restaurant which wás excellent. I would visit again but would pick a larger room. I booked a classic room and it was a bit small plus had a lot of furniture in it.
It was ok. Room very basic and the shower kept on leaking. Reported it everyday, nothing happened.
The hotel is exquisitely furnished. The staff was extremely helpful. The food was delicious. Everything was perfect except the plumbing faucet handles are beautiful but extremely difficult to operate.
If you are a lover of Art Deco this boutique hotel is a must. Delightful- superb restaurant- professional staff....will I return? YES
It is a beautiful property and service was First Class!
As a VIP member, the first thing that I expect is the room upgrade which didn’t happen. In general hotel conditions were good, staffs were kind. Breakfast was so so.
Good all round. No complaints. Great hotel. Great staff
Service was excellent and helpful. Breakfast was refined. Hotel needs updating - not style, but buckling walls, water damage, etc.
The staff was great. We got our room early - really appreciate that. The cell phone in the room was incredibly useful is travelling across Rome.
The art deco interior was superb. Especially the dining room and lounge
Very quiet and peaceful. Shutters on the windows so the room was nice and dark to sleep in.
Hotel was lovely decorated, staff so friendly food great
Wonderful hotel with amazing staff
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this fabulous hotel - the staff were amazingly kind and friendly. We will be back - Breakfast great too
Quiet location, nice rooms, good breakfast and helpful staff.
Elegant boutique hotel with amazing service
A very elegant boutique hotel with a superb staff , excellent concierges and a delicious breakfast. Located in an upscale residential neighborhood near the Villa Borghese.
Wonderful staff and beautiful hotel
We stayed for five days and the hotel was absolutely top-notch! The reception/concierge staff could not have been more warm, kind, helpful and knowledgable. They are, what every hotel front office staff should aspire to be, customer service second to none.
A hidden treasure
Is a hidden treasure on one the most elegant areas of Rome. But what really makes the difference is the service.
Great Location within walking distance of many Central Rome Attractions, Excellent Staff.
One of my very favorite hotels on our vacation. This is truly a luxury boutique hotel, impeccably clean, 5 star service, and located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood away from traffic and crowds. Its a nice walk to the city center and we didn't mind it at all. We took a few taxis in the rain but the quality you get for your money is really worth it. The bed sheets were soft and crisp high thread count cotton and beautiful to sleep on. The service was worthy of the 5 stars and everyone was top notch.
Nice boutique hotel, friendly knowledgeable staff. decent location for the attractions
Beautiful hotel and excellent staff. Reasonable rates for a luxury hotel. A little far from downtown, but right by the Borghese gardens.
This was our third stay in this hotel, we enjoy the area, close to the Villa Borghese, piazza del Popolo,
Excellent hotel Staff could not have been more helpful
Exellent chef, great service, hotel is outdated. Will not comeback.
Staff was amazing parking was great and only 15 min walk to Rome old city
Old renovated nice mansion, located in one of the nicests neighborhoods in Rome. Very elegant, full of nice details. Rooms are not that spacious but still are very good. Lovely beds !! Amazing service !
Lovely Art Deco Hotel
Sophisticated and low key elegance at this hotel. Staff are lovely - big shout out to Franco who gave us some excellent dining recommendations. Breakfast varied, fresh and attentive. We felt very spoiled- can’t wait to return.
Sincere, friendly staff. Very nicely appointed rooms with comfortable beds, great linens. Breakfast was nothing short of fabulous. Concierge Franco booked wonderful tours for us, called cabs, recommended restaurant and even had the correct adaptor plugs
beautifully decorated hotel with fantastic rooms and helpful, attentive staff
-old world charm, staff fantastic and made great recommendations for restaurants and tours -couldn’t be any safer Belgium embassy across the street with security detail -only complaint is no iron and iron board available for room
Classy elegant clean and very very nice polite people
excellent since the car arrive to the front of the hotel they help my nice to find her louges it was lost in the airport hotel front desk excellent people
Great boutique hotel, very friendly staff and breakfast above what you can expect for a free one
Classy and elegant hotel, with good position. Good breakfast
Hotel would not reverse an additional charge that I made a honest mistake in my reservation
Excellent staff in a suburban setting
We travel extensively....The staff is truly excellent. Classy yet friendly and knowledgeable. Common areas very well appointed. Rooms are slightly dated for a five star. The Art Deco theme is nice but needs to be a little crisper in execution. A 10-15 euro taxi from major sites so you are away from the hustle bustle. Near a beautiful park. Very good restaurants nearby. I would recommend this hotel as a 4.5... excellent staff, away from the madness of the sites.
Niche hotel with class and style
Spoilt by the care and attention of the staff. Excellent service. Excellent restaurant worthy of Michelin stars. Delightful breakfast buffet. The hotel is central to many interesting places. Yet, quiet and secluded unlike to hustle and bustle of other big five star hotels. I will go back to it every time I go to Rome
An elegant oasis near the Borghese Gardens and a few miles away from Rome’s gritty tourist center. Art Deco decor and elegant oil paintings of women fill the public and private areas. Our suite was spacious and impeccable. Our go-to hotel next time we’re in Rome.
Boutique Hotel Experience
This hotel is a restored mansion, walking distance from the Galleria Nazionale d'arte Moderna & Park. The staff was nice but since it was completely booked, we were unable to receive our VIP upgrade. This hotel is out of the way, so getting a taxi is a must. The hotel and it's rooms are all decked out in art deco decor. They even have a vintage elevator. The rooms are in need of an upgrade (Warning: Bathrooms are very tiny, as it is to be expected in most of Europe) This Hotel does not have a pool and I would not recommend for people with limited mobility (You have to climb a lot of stairs) A major plus is that this hotel is one of the few that offers complimentary breakfast. They have an abundant selection buffet style items, as well as made to order eggs & cappuccino.
Classic hotel, excellent service
Lord Byron staff are cheerful and attentive; the breakfast is excellent and hotel design is attractive. It’s slightly out of the centre which is a relief during the busy tourist season. If you look closely you might see that certain elements could use refreshing (sealant around bathtub flaking, marble a bit stained in places) but the hotel service more than makes up for that. The breakfast is varied and delicious. I found the bed a little too firm but that’s a matter of taste - the linens are very fine, and we enjoyed having the bed turned down and notices about the weather left on our pillows. Overall an excellent stay - but the staff made it so.
Stay at Hotel Byron
The staff and the hotel were nice however very far from activity in Rome. Needed to take a taxi EVERYWHERE. Needed a bit of an update. The size and comfort of the room was nice however the red older carpet, leaking faucet all night and bathroom water stains and peeling paint at the door should not have been for the cost of the room. Our first few nights we stayed closer to the main activities and could walk everywhere and had lots of restaurants and shopping. If you are looking for a quiet slow pace stay than I would recommend the Hotel Byron.
Tricia & Lia
Gorgeous classic decor. Beautiful embassy area of Roma. Helpful consierge.
Lovely hotel and a truly relaxing stay
We spent long days in Rome exploring and coming back to the Lord Byron was lovely. All the staff we met were nothing but warm, welcoming and helpful. We had our 6 year old son with us who was made to feel most welcome. The buffet breakfast was of excellent quality and you were not rushed each morning. Serving until 10.30 was also great as meant you didn’t have to walks up early for breakfast. On our last day we had an evening flight but were able to safely leave all our luggage. We can not recommend this hotel enough. Excellent and we will definitely return again on our next trip to Rome. Thank you Hotel Lord Byron.
Great stay
Hotel is a beautiful Art Deco villa, great for interior, next to it are villa Borghese gardens so it’s perfect for those who enjoy walking. Although to get to the center one should take a taxi
Lovely hotel, very helpful staff
Lovely hotel, staff very helpful and friendly we thought it a shame that food and drink was so overpriced but found a wonderful restaurant only 7 mins walk away North in the town. We would recommend and would happily stay again if we were to visit Rome. Cabs were plentiful and reasonably priced so easy to get to all tourist sites. We enjoyed the park nearby too.
Comfortable and quiet hotel
Everything was very good and the only downside is its location as it is a good 15 min walk into central Rome and UPHILL all the way back!

Location on hill. Tough to walk back up to. Was nice to be near Borghese Gardens though. Decor needs a MAJOR upgrade throughout. Concierge often couldn’t get us dinner or taxi reservations we wanted.
