Great location
Great location. Very clean, beautiful, 24 hour desk, everything was wonderful.
Great hotel with excellent service and in such a great location in Rome, can't beat it!
This is listed as a 4 Star Hotel and I couldn’t tell you why You come in and the lobby smells like someone is smoking. There are no amenities that reflect the definition of a 4 star hotel… When we got to the room there was a crumpled up pillowcase and a stain on one of the twin beds. The shower leaked from the side of the glass door. We couldn’t check out 20 minutes early because there wasn’t anyone there… ordering a taxi seemed to be a big issue as well… not sure why.
Wonderful hotel within a five minute walk to Campo dei Fiori, and 10 minute walk to other site seeing spots. Also near Trastevere and Roscioli. Would stay here again.
Staff are very friendly and helpful.
In the Jewish Quarter between main destinations and good local hang out spots. Five minutes to busses, twenty minutes to attractions.
Wonderful Hotel
This is a wonderful hotel. We found all the beds to be very comfortable. We found the front desk staff to be very polite and helpful. It is close to some attractions (Rome is huge so it can't be next to all attractions). It was nice to be able to open the windows and get some fresh air into the room. We felt very safe in the location and there are plenty of restaurants within walking distance.
This was an awesome place to stay! We were there for 2 nights only, but would have stayed longer if we could. It was clean, well set up, and the service was excellent! I would highly recommend this hotel right in the heart of Rome!
The staff was never warm or welcoming to us. I thought I booked the larger room since I paid extra for it. I was told I booked the standard and I should've just paid through the hotel directly instead of expedia even though I showed I paid extra for the bigger room. When we asked about breakfast we were told we didn't "pay" for breakfast. I never saw that as an add-on. I asked if we could pay then and was told there was no room for us at breakfast as the seats were all taken. They acted as if every guest would be at the table at the same time like a sit-down breakfast. I checked the following morning and there were plenty of empty seats at various times throughout the times they served breakfast. What's the big deal to pour a cappuccino and serve a croissant? The staff actually told us we were better off going out to buy our own breakfast. Completely accommodating or hospitable. We felt like a bother to them at every interaction.
Location was wonderful as well as staff!
Great location
Great location in the middle of everything you may need to visit in five days
Hotel did not live up to its description/photos, staff rude and unhelpful. We reserved an executive double/twin and we offered what looked like a standard double (smaller) upon check-in. We asked to have the 'double bed' which was two twins made up as two twins. Were first told that nothing could be done until the next day, the hotel was full, and that the beds were attached to the headboard. I showed them that the beds were not attached. Response was that housekeeping had left for the day. We offered to change the beds ourselves if sheets were provided. After much arguing, they the response was that sheets would be provided but no sheets were ever provided. We sat down for breakfast in the morning, but were told our rate did not include breakfast. We were not offered the ability to pay for it separately so we bought breakfast from the cafe across the street. We asked about parking for our car. We received incorrect info about parking on the street and finally directed to a garage about 3 blocks away which costs 45 euros for one night. To reach the hotel, you enter on the ground floor of a very musty, moldy smelling building. The refrigerator in our room did not work. Staff was generally frowning, unhappy whenever we had a question. On the good side, the room itself was clean, the property uses eco-friendly products, follows Covid protocols and was quiet. In general, for the price paid, not a good value/better choices out there.
The staff wasn’t very friendly and the bathroom needed a deep clean.
Male on duty, was efficient but no personality. If you like hard beds, this is the place for you. Trains seem to run under the hotel. Breakfast and interior were good. Not easy to find hotel.
Location is central to all major attractions.
the hotel personnel was professional, friendly and polite. The environment was special, combining the flavor of an old Roman Palazzo with original and well assorted furniture. Unfortunately, it was a little bit noisy, due to the tram line just under the window.
Lovely, clean very comfortable hotel near tourist attractions and Jewish Ghetto.
Awesome service in a perfect location
The hotel was on the 2nd floor of a building. With stairs right after the lift, so unsuitable for small children and people with heavy bags. The hotel is certainly NOT 4 star as advertised, the carpets and decor are from about 20 years ago, the room although clean is Tiny, and the hotel has a tramline right outside the building, which loudly passes every 10 minutes and literally shakes the whole building making sleep difficult! The location isn’t bad though as it’s a short walk to see the trevi fountain and the pantheon.
Lovely staff very friendly, attentive and professional.
I love that this feels like you're in someone's home in Rome, yet with the excellent service of a hotel. Wonderful staff. The tram passes near the window though, and it's quite noisy.
it was excellent - great location and friendly service
Absolutely fabulous
Fabulous, welcoming, friendly and helpful staff. Delicious homemade cakes at breakfast. Couldn't ask for a better location. All in all, completely excellent.
Amazing great place very nice staff
Pathetic. Don’t stay there
Hot/ small/ inconvenient. We checked out early
I dtay one night in a room which located on the street side. From 0600 am you can't sleep!!!
Great location. Friendly staff.
This place place was great, the staff was very friendly and it was close to all the sites and transportation. My only issue was that the mattress was quite firm and had some kind of non-breathable cover on it that caused me to wake up in a pool of sweat each morning.
Good location. Needs work and a good clean up. You also fall down a stair going into room
Fab hotel
Amazing location, only downfall was the room we were in was next to the main road so we could hear the tram
Sooooo noisy and my room was shaking from tram to pass the road.
The hotel was very old. You can clearly hear the neighbors conversations coming and going. There is a tram station directly above the hotel that runs all hours of the night and literally vibrates stuff off the shelves it’s so loud making it nearly impossible to sleep. I’m the states this would be the equivalent of a motel 6. 2 star at best.
Nice hotel, but only 5h sleep daily
Hotel was hard to find. It is located in an old but racy building, which has a special charm to it. Interior is vastly decorated and interesting. Staff is very helpful and professional. Room was a little dusty, although the cleaning is daily. !!! BUT make sure you get a room with atrium view, unless you want a very well scheduled 5 hours sleep. We got a room that overlooked the street and it was a disaster. Trams are passing by every 5 mins during the day, and when they do, the building is shaking and the noise makes you feel like standing near the rails. I.e., you only get to sleep after midnight and until around 5:30 (after the last and until the first tram passes by). We asked the staff to change the room, as it was obvious right away, but it didn't work out.
The train that goes by the room is pretty brutal unless you are the most sound sleeper in the world. Runs from 5am to past midnight. I got very little sleep.
Great for the money
A bit of a scare when we first entered. There is NO SIGN ON THE ENTRANCE OF THE HOTEL!!! It is just on the 1st floor of the building. The address was hard to find on the building as well. It would have been helpful for them to alert us that there would be no sign on the building when the reservation was made. Even the bell you ring to get buzzed in just says “HOTEL”... nothing more. Once you get buzzed in, you walk down a dark and dank midevil looking hallway with barely any light and chipped-up walls. There is an elevator that functions but is probably from the 50’s. Once you get past all this... the hotel itself is adorable. Rooms aren’t huge, but it is a city. Bathroom was relatively spacious. Great lighting and the beds were decently comfortable. Front desk staff was lovely and the breakfast room and set-up is by far one of the best I have ever seen in all of my travels (such care and attention to detail!). The only big thing that was a bit annoying was that the building is right next to the above-ground trams that have rails in the ground, so whenever a train went by, it quite literally felt like an erarthquake. Luckily trains don’t run too late into the night so it’s not like it kept us up, but it was certainly alarming until you got used to it. Overall, a great, clean place to stay for a decent cost and close to the Jewish Ghetto (AMAZING food) and public transportation. Oh, and then WiFi worked amazingly which is always a treat in these hotels that say “Free WiFi”!
Nice hotel on a second floor,
Nice little hotel, more of a bea and breakfast. Breakfast was simple and not ver generous. The hotel is on a second floor, and you need to ride a very small old elevators. Rooms and service aswell as general decoration of the hotel is very tastefull. Was for us an overall good experience.
Rome holiday
it was very nice hotel
A delightful experience
This is a small hotel for about 30 people with the aim of making you feel at home and it does that to perfection. The service is personal and impeccable and the interior furnishings and artworks a visual delight. Breakfast was refectory style, huge long table beautifully laid and a chance to be quiet or to meet some very interesting guests. Excellent fruit, a continental breakfast but requirements such as an omelette were met at an extra cost.
Great location
Very polite and helpful receptionist, good central area and room size is as you would expect
Great location, could use some modernization
Hotel was in a great location that wasn't particularly far from all of the main tourist things people want to hit up in Rome (30 min walk to the Vatican, 5 min walk to the Pantheon, 15 min walk to the Colosseum, etc.). However room was located next to the streetcars so it was kind of loud, mattress was OK, rooms could do with some modernization / better lighting to make them more comfortable for guests.
The staff was fantastic and helped out with anything I needed. The hotel is in a convenient location, easily walkable to many parts of Rome. The only one real negative is, if the room faces the main street, you can hear the trolly.
Great breakfast, but noisy at night
A lot of noise at night (from both the street and other guests), so one could not get a good night sleep! everything else was great, especially the breakfast :-)
More B&B than hotel
First, the good: The room was big, the AC worked great, the hotel is super clean, and the art is fantastic. We didn't spring for breakfast, but it smelled and looked great. However, there are a few annoying things that took my rating down a couple notches. First, I was traveling with my mother and we requested two beds. When we arrived, there was only one large bed. I told the guy at the front and he said, "We'll split it for you tomorrow." After a long flight I didn't want to deal with it and we stuck it out for a night, but then the next day when we got back to the hotel, it was still only one bed. Not good. Second, you have to use a buzzer to get in and out, and they want you to check the key to your room in at the front desk when you leave. No one told us that when we arrived, and there was a very unhappy front desk man on the last night of our stay who informed us that we need to check in our key. That's not really a great situation. We were only in Rome for two nights and we were staying out late to make the most of it. The "hotel" definitely feels more like a bed and breakfast, and to be honest I wouldn't have chosen it in our situation had I known that. However, if you're looking for that charming homey feel in a fantastic location with very nice rooms, this is a great choice.
great for seeing Rome by foot
Hotel Locanda Cairoli was a fantastic place for our three days in Rome. Their desk is staffed 24/7, which is a great help for late arrival, and every one of the staff we met (at least six people) was super friendly and helpful with our questions. The room was a good size, daily housekeeping is immaculate, and breakfast is a buffet of many items with doting service. Location (near Largo Argentina ruins and a short walk from Piazza Navona) was perfect for walking to all the landmarks including Vatican. Parking was our only concern. The hotel has an agreement with another hotel for 44 Euros per night, but we didn't know that and parked on a street without markings. With summer tourism, enforcement wasn't stringent and no one bothered our car for three days, but we knew we were fortunate. Overall, this was a very comfortable base for seeing Rome's sights, and the staff made us feel welcome and well taken care of at every turn for a very reasonable price.
Excellent!
Wonderful hotel. Lovely staff, delicious breakfast, great location, quiet and comfy! Absolutely perfect!
Great location
Overall great location, room was clean and service was good but bed was really hard and room was in need of some upgrading. But hey, it's Rome.
Estaba bien ubicado en general estuvo bien solo algo viejas las instalaciones pero estaba limpio
Good hotel to walk around Rome
Hotel was clean and service was hospital. Breakfast was worth money (not too special, but also not expensive). Location was good for us and AC was of course perfect.
An amazing hotel, in the middle of a busy city, staff were very helpful and accomodating. We would defo recommend this hotel. 5*
