very good services and staffs.
Pleasant stay right beside the lake and only a 10min walk into the centre of Stresa. Convenient free onsite parking, nice indoor pool, communal areas and a great breakfast. Decor is a bit dated but in some way adds to the charm of the place. Excellent friendly staff.
The hotel may be slightly dated but it was clean and comfortable with friendly staff
Hotel was clean, but not the most comfortable of beds and insufficient pillows.
I thought the property is a prime example of, "you get what you pay for." It was a good price, but the room was outdated and did not have many amenities. For parking, you handed your keys to the front desk like a valet, not advertized but I would have like to know beforehand. The breakfast was subpar. I would recommend solely if on a budget.
Hotel in Stresa with a geacious atmosphere
We had booked for 3 people originally. 2 rooms, 1 single and 1 double. There was a change in our travel arrangements and we arrived with 4 of us. The rooms unfortunately do not accomodate an extra bed, but they rearranged and made available another single room. The reception was very accommodating, and very helpful. The fact that the property had a parking spot for our car was much appreciated. The location is perfect, away from the hustle and bustle of the town centre. Yet it is a short walk on the lakeside boardwalk to town. Moments away from the docks for catching a boat. We enjoyed the friendly service, clean rooms and gracious Stresa hospitality.
The location of the hotel is good, it's right at the lake and in walkable distance from the downtown area in Stresa. The room was clean, spacious and had a nice balcony. The furniture is outdated and the room lacks some of the basic amenities you'd expect in 3 star hotel. The staff were nice, however, the receptionist didn't provide information about the hotel facilities. Breakfast was ok.
We loved our stay at Hotel Lido La Perla Nera!! The breakfast was amazing :) We enjoyed the location of it and being able to walk the promenade into town!
Hotel with lovely surrounds and handy to the lake.
We had a five night stay at the Lido La Perla having planned to spend some time on Lake Maggiore during our month holiday. It is a very nice hotel, well located near the lake foreshore with excellent access to the boating transport needed to visit the many sights on the lake. The hotel staff were very caring, the breakfast was vast and very fresh food, the room was well serviced with clean towels and linen each day and the bathroom was very good although having to step into the bath to shower is a possible hazard for elderly or informed guests. The hotel is about 15 minutes walk from the main town of Stresa so dining opportunities were limited but we used the nearby which was very good with a great view of the lake and a good menu. A taxi is required to get to and from the hotel if travelling by train. A couple of negatives are there was no fridge in our room ( forget having cold drinks available in your room) , there was no tea/ coffee making facilities and the tv could only be tuned to non English speaking stations. The hotel’s gardens are quite spectacular with large flowering hydrangeas and indoor there was a pool and very good couch areas to rest. Overall very good but a bit overpriced.
Very nice hotel that is close to the lake, which makes it very convenient to the lake exclusions. The hotel has a great breakfast and is close to Stresa for many good restaurants. Room was comfortable and has air conditioning and a private patio offtge room.
The hotel is very dated and basic!! All the rooms and indoor pool etc look a lot bigger on Expedia and the sizes are actually a lot smaller!! Breakfast is like a canteen and the staff not very happy!! Overall good location for Stresa but the hotel itself was old fashioned!!
value for money
good location right by boats and cable car, also the train station for trip to Locarno and back by boat.No outside facilities.
comments
great location, good breakfast, wonderful staff. Terrible hairdryer, tiny TV, strange towels and one flat, hard pillow. would stay there again but would know to bring own pillow, towel and hairdryer.
Beautiful, Quiet Setting
The hotel was very nice and in a great, quiet location. The women at the front desk were incredibly helpful & showed us everything on a map. They spoke enough English to communicate clearly. The facility was very clean & cool with lots of marble. The rooms were roomy but we could not open the windows or bees & large flies would come in from the beautiful gardens below. A fan would have been the BEST addition to the room that became very hot down by the water. The breakfast was delicious but minimal. The town was just a 7 minute walk with lots of shops & open-air cafes & upscale restaurants. The trail along the lake was just outside hotel property & so beautiful & cool in the evenings. We chose Stresa on Lake Maggiore because an airport shuttle was available for a reasonable price. We were told exactly where to pick up the shuttle & had no problem until arriving in Stresa. It is VERY IMPORTANT to know to get off at the SECOND STOP in Stresa because the hotel is at the far end of town, right down the street toward on the lake. Our driver spoke only Italian & although we told him our hotel name, he did not indicate in any way there was a 2nd stop. As a result we had great difficulty walking up cobbled streets with our suitcases in extreme heat with no idea how to find the hotel. Overall our time in Stresa was lovely & very enjoyable. We definitely recommend Hotel Lido.
Don't book it.
No internet connection at only 1m from the front desk. The hotel beds are completely expired I couldn't sleep 30 minutes without waking up with a massive pain in my muscles and bones, my trip was to go there and enjoying my holiday literally you are sleeping on a wood. Plus you have to bring you towels because you find that they are using just thin sheets. Totally regret it.
Great location
It was very convenient to Borromee Islands
Good value 3 star hotel
A warm welcome to a genuine Italian family hotel, in a beautiful location. Nice continental breakfast and spacious corner room. The location is advertised as Stresa but is a 20 minute to central Stresa, not a problem for us as it's a lovely walk along the lakefront, but hotel is actually in Carciano, a nice location on the lake ferry service, and cable car station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Nice hotel on the edge of Lake Maggiore
GOOD - helpful staff helped us dry clothes when we came back drenched one night. Clean. Nice indoor pool. 5G Wi Fi easy to get. NOT SO GOOD - no fridge or kettle, so no making our own teas etc or chilling bottled water. Bed firm, though not lumpy. TV set ancient - only BBC World available.
Great value for a hotel in Stresa
Stayed 2 nights for a wedding on Lake Maggoire. Hotel was great but the area a little run down now the cable car has now stopped running. Boats depart directly outside the hotel for trips across the lake. 10 minute walk into Stresa - would stay again if in the area.
The staff in the hotel were helpful and pleasant. The breakfast and dinners were delicious.
Ideal location
Very friendly staff, welcoming and helpful ( Carlo and Stella) became like good friends! We enjoyed the good food and wine
replace the mattresses then it would score higher
A hotel geared to coach parties rather than individuals but the main problem was an old uncomfortable mattress. The staff were helpful in general.
THE HIDDEN JEWEL OF THE ITALIAN LAKES
Enchanting family run hotel. Would have stayed longer if we would have known how nice it was. Indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Spacious rooms. Excellent location. The hotel made reservations for us to dine on Isola Pescodore Island. We were picked up in front of the hotel, steps away from the marina and ferries in a private boat at no charge. Had a delicious meal with a view to the ocean and the sun setting. Free ample car parking and free lobby wifi.
Lovely pool and gardens
Lovely little hotel opposite Isolo Borromeo. Bit of a walk into the town, but ideal to walk off all the great food! Sound insulation in rooms was poor, you could hear toilets being flushed and shutters being closed in other rooms. Dogs are currently allowed in hotel and one of them was barking for hours two nights running. The second night reception went to find out which room dog had been left in and people left the following morning.
Stresa was awesome area. Hotel very close to tram and boats going to the islands. Most restaurants were located about 10 minutes away from hotel when walking.
Great Location
Great Location close to water bus and cable train.Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Bathroom a bit small and breakfast with limited choices.
Quiet get away
Stayed for 4 nights in June 2013. Hotel staff are extremely helpful and friendly and the rooms are spacious with great wrap around balconies. Stresa is not cheap for accommodation and we chose this on budget considerations. I would have rated it higher but the beds and pillows are very uncomfortable - like rocks and thin pillows that are hard. Poor sleep in this respect let it down a lot. We were on 1st floor and the noise from guest upstairs was easily heard - showers in morning, steps etc. Internet is free which is good for Stresa but so slow and drops out all the time it was very frustrating. Breakfasts ok basic continental italian style - but they did not top up items so if you were late, too bad ..... Location is a bit out of town, but as others have said its a wonderful easy walk and not a problem if you like to stroll. Would recommend this place if you are on a tight budget and don't mind a very very firm bed.
Perfect location. Great service
Lovely, well managed hotel with helpful staff.
We had a lovely week at the hotel. It was spotlessly clean, very well maintained and in a peaceful location. Staff were both pleasant and professional. It's location about 15-20 mins walk from Stresa centre, was fine for us during the week as we enjoyed the walk through the gardens on the lakeside - but our airport bus left at 6.30am on departure and taxis did not run that early. To be fair we were told that the hotel would sort something for us, but it was a nice morning and we walked. Otherwise it was great.
We were very satisfied and will recommend your hotel to our friends.
Beautiful view of Lago Maggiore
Sitting on the balcony and watching the boats on the lake was just perfect. The walk into Stresa was equally beautiful and picturesque. Having the boat terminal across from the hotel was definitely convenient. I will definitely be coming back.
Hotel Lido La Perla Nera, Lake Maggiore. Italy.
A nice hotel in a very pretty location, stayed here Tuesday to Saturday in July 2011. The hotel is in a quite area with a only couple of restaurants and bars over the road. It is next to the cable car station and the landing stage for the lake boats. We stayed bed and breakfast and ate out nearby or in Stressa which is a 15-20 minute walk. The walk to Stressa is mostly along the lake edge, it is a well lit promenade and a very romantic walk, reminds me of something out of the Victorian age. The breakfast at the hotel was the only disappointment, basic but adequate. The bread or Croissants seemed a bit stale some days, there were things like Salami, meats, cheese, crackers yogurt and some cereals and fruit, nothing cooked as far as we could see, I would expect more or at least better quality for the cost of the room, after a 4 day stay here we moved to Lake Garda and stayed in a slightly cheaper hotel with a fantastic breakfast, the difference was amazing, worlds apart. The staff here are very friendly and the hotel is nicer inside than you would expect from the outside, it had a good indoor pool and I think there is an outside one. It was lovely to get up in the morning and walk across the very quiet access road and car park to the waters edge and just admire the view of the beautiful lake and the nearby islands. There is an adjacent hotel car park with at least 10 spaces a few paces from the reception, and some gardens. At night we did not notice any noise, just the odd church bell in the distance and the sounds of the boats on the lake, a very pleasant background noise. The rooms were cleaned and made up every day, the beds were comfortable but the pillows were a bit thin, still, personal taste. We had a TV in the room and air con, most if not all rooms have a small balcony. If I was coming back to the area I would stay here again as the location and the quality of the hotel, and friendliness of the staff were good enough for us. There is lots to see on and around the lake. We had a hire car and took a trip to the top of the lake into Switzerland to see the James Bond "Golden Eye" dam and bungy jump { find it on Google Earth } it`s less than an hour away. We also drove to Zermatt which is less than three hours away through the stunning Simplon mountain pass, a good day trip. From the hotel landing stage take the ferry across the lake to the "Eremo di Santa Caterina del Sassoballaro", { again look it up on Google Earth } a stunning Hermitage clinging to the cliff face on the lake, free entry. Or if you have a car drive North a few miles and catch the cheap car ferry across the lake from Verbiana to Laveno. Try the bucket chair lift up the mountain on the edge of Laveno and also drive a few miles south to the Hermitage, the cost of the ferry is cheaper than driving round the lake and a lot. lot quicker. If you are arriving by car, look for the cables of the cable car as the station is outside the hotel, if coming from the North the turning is down the side of the petrol station, careful or you will miss it. There is a good supermarket about a mile North on the roundabout for supplies. If your not bothered about a posh hotel and just want good quality accommodation in a quite but stunning location, then I would recommend this hotel. We are a couple, in our 40s-50s, I hope this review proves useful to you.
Stayed from Jul 18 - 21 2024. The hotel is very clean, the staff are friendly and yet professional. The location of the hotel is very nice, it was 10-20min. of walk going to the main town of stresa. Depends if you have a toddler like us:) The way going to the town is a baywalk, it was wonderful and very peaceful. We are very satisfied and would definitely such a recommended place to stay.

Sauber, ruhig, super Lage, nettes Personal, tolles kleines Hallenbad, gutes Frühstück. Negativ für uns die etwas unbequemen Matratzen.
Bello
Great price quality relation. Minor: the balcony lamp stayed on all night. No possibility to shut
All good
Ansonsten gute Lage. Zimmer ok.
No individual safe in the room
Breakfast is terrible! The service stuff tried their best to transform the breakfast experience to be good but the ingredients of the breakfast buffet was one of the worst we ever have seen. The coffee is an undrinkable instant Nescafé product, so we decided to get our coffee outside on the restaurant next door. There are no warm products like bacon or eggs on the buffet. The ham was run out of data and became sour, maybe because nothing on the buffet was chilled. This is not a problem which is made by the stuff, but by the management. We are working for more than 20 years in hotels, so we know that's a management issue. The only reason why we give a good rating is the fantastic stuff of the hotel. The night audit Enrico was very nice and helpful. he served us the best aperol spritz we had on our 4 days in all stresa big compliment to him!!!
Rapport qualité prix moyen.
Proximité du centre-ville et de l'embarcadère. Quartier calme. Literie passable. Mauvais fonctionnement de la climatisation. Parking à proximité.
Ok
Ok, easy to find, good parking place. Swimming pool was inside and need a good wash to be ok . Problem with ant since balcony was in the garden .

Nice Hotel in Great Setting.

Perfect location in Stresa
Great property near the ferry pier in Stresa. The staff were friendly and accommodating.
