The proximity to the beach was very convenient. The room was quite outdated and a little grimy.
Quiet & relacing
Very pleasant area. Unfortunately it was off season so very quiet. Maybe that was a good thing.
The hotel is very nice, you can get a bike for free which is fab cause you can bike around the small place and along the beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The shower is huge and great. All in all a very nice place and the pretty much the only hotel in the area
Confort and charme
Very kind and efficient personnel; room clean, spacious and confortable; astonishing shower with view on the beach!
Amazing place!
Great hotel with great stuff! Unfortunately we only stayed couple of hours (quick sleep before an early flight) and it was raining so that we did not see much about the area but the beach across the street looked amazing even in the rain. Room was very nice and clean, the lady at the front desk was very friendly. Highly recommended!!
Close to the beach and restaurants. Room had a big balcony overlooking the sea.
At some point in time I. Sure this was a beautiful property in a great location but time has not been kind. Property has not been updated and is run down. The rooms and bathrooms are very spacious and clean but very out dated. Some paint and updated furniture could make this place much more appealing.
Would not return
The hotel is in need of a lot of work. The grounds, outer buildings and some of the interior have not been kept up.
Your support staff is outstanding! Property is clean and comfortable. Breakfast was varied and very good!
Picked this hotel for a one night stay prior to an international flight due to it being reasonably close to the airport. The facilities in the room were as expected and clean. There was a large bathroom and balcony. The general areas and outside areas of the hotel were in need of renovation and maintenance and this was disappointing. Being so close to the beach front this hotel could be developed into a lovely resort
We have been at La conchiglia few times before. We like the staff, the location, the breakfast included and nice rooms. We feel like part of a family!
Little bit far from the main city of Rome .. needs bus then transfer to a train .. takes one hour commute
The hotel was much further from the airport than I'd anticipated -- my mistake, but the staff were extremely helpful in finding me economical transport from and to the airport and the room -- and upgrade -- was a wonderful respite from a long trip.
We chose this hotel to be close to the airport our night before leaving Italy. Very friendly and helpful staff, comfortable room.
A beautiful hotel in a lovely little town. We spent the night there because we had an early flight the next morning, and the town is closer to the airport than Rome! You must plan for transportation because it is about 20 minutes from the airport. We made arrangements for the shuttle that was mentioned in the hotel's description. The shuttle is actually a private driver which cost us 50 Euros from the airport and another 50 Euros to get back to the airport. Since the hotel is so economical, we did not mind paying that price. It was most convenient. The staff was exceptional. We arrived to the hotel late as all the restaurants were closing for lunch. The receptionist Marta called a restaurant which was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel and asked that they stay open for us so we could eat. She took our bags to our rooms as we went off to eat. The staff served the breakfast early since we had to leave before the usual service hours. Highly recommend this hotel. Would love to return to enjoy the beach some day!
Great location to airport. Welcoming staff. Fab beach
Good breakfast. Close to Fiumicino Airport and Rome attractions by auto. Slightly aged—bathroom had water-damaged wood flooring and rusty shower hardware. Shower tiles need replacing. Front desk and dining room staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only stayed there one night on the way back from Amalfi, early flight the next morning. Across the street from the beach, close to many restaurants and beach bars within walking distance. Front desk staff was so sweet and helpful when we checked in. Room is very nice and spacious, comfortable. Huge shower with rainfall shower head. Overall was a great stay and would definitely stay there again.
Nice location and incredibly sweet and helpful staff. Linens and air conditioning could be improved.
Perfect stop after a long flight!
We had a one night stay here as we arrived on an evening flight into Rome (after 20 hours of flying). It was the perfect spot to rest after the long flight as it was close to the airport and transfers were arranged by the hotel. Staff were friendly and accommodating. The transfer arranged by them picked us up from the gates and even carried out luggage. We were traveling with young babies so this made things so much easier for us. Breakfast was included in our booking and was a typical European style breakfast, pastries, cold meats, bread, tea and coffee.
Great location, but hotel has not been maintained. Air conditioning did not work, extremely humid , wooden floor loose from water damage. Will not stay here again.
Good location, good value.
Hotel Conchiglia has excellent location right across from the beach. The rooms are good with a tasteful interior, and the hotel and its grounds spacious and peaceful. Check-in personnel were very friendly and helpful. Also, the hotel provides free bikes and beach towels. Breakfast was rather average with slow service.
Balcony seaview
Highly recommend the balcony seaview, nice quiet town and friendly helpful staff
10/10
Most accommodating hotel experience i have ever had. The staff was amazing and the hotel was very clean!
The hotel was great but our room smelled so bad, it was as if someone had died there. It was unbearable. Good thing we stayed only one night.
No signal on the TV... had to go to the front desk for A/C activation... restaurants in the beach area closed early but found a nice place in town..
Perfect
Found this place online; didn’t know what to expect other than pics. Wow’d! Food great; customer service perfect; bed super comfy and clean rooms. A bit noisy from next door, but that’s my only concern. I would definitely return!!!
Close to FCO airport
We arrive at night time. The car entrance to hotel is not clearly states. We have to stop the car and go inside the hotel to get instructions to get into the parking.
Very nice hotel
Hotel was very nice and clean. Right next to the beach. Only down side was not a lot to do around the area. Bus was only 1 hour into Rome.First bus 6am last bus 9:30pm.
Excellent location to airport
Excellent overnight stay. Arrived, exhausted after travelling all day & encountering Rome traffic to be greeted by a delightful Giusy who made us very welcome & organised some very appreciated supper. Room amenities all pretty basic, great shower, awful bed, probably the worst we have ever slept in. Great location to airport, Giusy drew us a mud map to the airport, easy!! Hotel located in a quiet spot right on the beach front.
A nice "funkis" hotell
It is just ext to the beach promenad. The hotel has a "funkis" design 1960? We liked it. White is the colour. To find the hotel you have to think like a walker - no signs is for a driver. They have a spacios parking. reception is good. The room we got on first floor was very OK except dirty floor ( some wet cleaning will fix that) and dirty/dusty furniture on the patio.Breakfast is OK for being in Italy. We will use this hotell again when waiting for next days flight.
Nice beach in Rome!
It was very nice and clean, but no Elevators. That was a shocker. That's why europeans are in great shape. But, hotel staff was very helpful with luggage. The food was great at the hotel! The beach view Awesome and in walking distance. My family and I enjoyed this as our last day in Italy! Thank you!
Nice place to stay
Great
Sweet beach community with beach access & views
The staff was very friendly, kind and accommodating. We arrived two hours early and they checked us in with a smile and had the rooms ready in advance. The were very sweet and helpful. Hotel is right across from the beach. Bikes are offered free of charge, the hotel staff provided us with free beach towels and a pass for free entry on to the beach. Overall a great experience for our last night in Europe.
Excellent!
Loved this hotel very much! The room is spacious, bed is comfortable. Big bathroom...loved the shower head! Wi-Fi is great! The front desk lady was very helpful. We arrived pretty late and were so tired to walk to a restaurant nearby but with her help...we had foods delivered right to the hotel on late night. She also helped to order a taxi to pick us up at 4:00 AM. Everything is so good about this hotel. I'd definitely stay here again and recommend to everyone!
Great place to relax after a bustle of Rome
Great value for the price. Lovely hotel overlooking the ocean and just steps from the beach. Loved the bicycle rentals. Breakfast was wonderful, homemade pastries, Yum. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Since this is an older hotel, it shows normal signs of wear and tear. Everything worked fine except the air conditioning. Staff was apologetic and brought us a fan. We thought this hotel was a little closer to the airport, but it's about 30 minutes away. Grocery store and good restaurant within 10-min walking distance. We did not eat at the Hotel restaurant, they were closed the night we were there.
Beach location with great service
Very nice stay at the beach
The hotel is very well located. The lobby invites to stay. The bathroom and shower were great. The problem we had was the 3rd bed that's very uncomfortable and also we asked for a double bed and they put 2 beds together... The hotel is in front of the beach and the view is beautiful. Breakfast is very good, we have to leave before breakfast time and they prepared it for us. It's pretty near to Fiumiccino. IT's great for the last day in Rome
I needed a spot immediately after being bumped from a flight. Not feeling well and just wanting to lie down, I was so grateful for just the welcome I received from the front desk. That little show of care made everything ok. I look forward to going back to the little beach town on holiday.
This is a nice and quiet hotel so close to Rome
Nice hotel , just in front of the beach and rooms with water view
AWAY from Rome & 20 min from Airport
We visited in early October, which is definitely the "off" season for this area, meaning everything but our hotel was closed. One restaurant down the street ("Toni") opened at 7:00 p.m. It was lovely, the owners were delightful, & the beach front view at sunset was beautifully serene. MAJOR PROBLEM with this hotel is you have any luggage is: NO ELEVATORS! Now I know why they call it LUGgage! Otherwise, this is a pleasant beach property with a most accommodating staff. Airport shuttle needs to be booked in advance w front desk & costs $35 per trip (regardless of whether there are 1, 2, or 3 passengers).
We were looking for a hotel fairly close to FCO and the goal was achieved. Hotel is modern and the staff was very friendly. However we had expressly called in advance to make sure there was a room with a double bed available and were assured it was the case - however the double bed was effectively 2 twin beds put together. Cleanliness of bathroom was doubtful.
Only stayed one night before flying back home from Rome. The hotel is close to the airport and if you want one more beach day close to the airport this is your place. The town is a nice beach village and is hands down a better place to stay than Ostia. Great variety of restaurants with very good dining. The garden room I had had not been renovated and it needed it but for the price I can't complain. The room was clean and comfortable and the Ac worked. The rooms that have been renovated are very nice. Overall a good value and if you like the beach the private beach clubs of which there are many are decent.
Friendly and helpful service, great architecture, great location
nice hotel close to the beach
we had a big delay in our trip and we got to Rome was close to midnight and the hotel is not easy to find . Thank God to GPS . Room clean simple . Breakfast was VERY simple
Nice hotel convenient for the airport with a bit of character
Not a place to go in The Summer
This is nice hotel with exceptional staff. It is in a beach area with local Romans; the hotel staff treated these non-Italian speaking tourists very well. But while it's on the beach, going when it was quite warm was problematic. The A/C just doesn't work. Other patrons had the same issue. It was just too uncomfortable. I would not recommend this hotel.
Charming Stay at the Beach
Charming Hotel at the beach. All of the staff we encountered were lovely and accommodating.
The hotel has good sized room it is across from the beach it is not a busy place . If you are looking for a more relaxing quieter place this is it . Bike paths and bikes if you want a long beach path and your right across the street. I did not go into the small town I spent my time in Ostia a much busier city with tons of people I was looking for that . Fregene is quiet and romantic and nice but I am single and looking for activity and night life .
Good Basic Hotel
Basic no frills hotel, but clean and comfortable. Service at desk was outstanding. Breakfast ok, but no hot food.
Short trip
the air conditioning didn't work well.
Excellent hotel room conditions and staff
The staff are friendly and the rooms are excellent.
Hotel was a ghost town. Old, tired facility.
Nice hotel and good location
We enjoyed staying at La Conchiglia The food is good, the staff amazing and the location super! Close to the beach but also not too far from the airport.
We were only going to stay one night in order to take someone to the airport at Rome-Fiumicino, but the location and the off season calm was so inviting, we stayed 3 more nights after dropping the family member at the airport. Every person from the hotel that we had contact with were charming, helpful and a pleasure to interact with, the breakfast was good and our one dinner there was delicious. The train into Rome, after parking at the local train station, proved to be much easier to negotiate than anticipated.
Brego!!
I enjoyed my stay! Hotel staff are nice and friendly. Lovely people! I'll definitely go back and will recommend it to friends.
Decent hotel for basic needs
The hotel was introduced as a hotel near FCO airport - 8 KM and that was the main reason to select this hotel to have a break between my flights schedule. Unfortunatly it was quite far from airport approx 25 minutes by taxi (40 euro - per way). In the way back i ordered the hotel shuttle that charged 20 euro. The receptionist was descent and cooperative. The hotel is in the middle of no where, rooms are fine but lobby and restaurant area needs refurbishment. You must check your needs of location before selecting the hotel.
Great location but rather old
We booked three twin beds. And confirmed it twice but we were given a rollaway bed instead of a twin bed for the third person who is a young man, 26 yrs old and 6'3" tall. This was unacceptable. This has happened in other hotels too booked thru Hotels.com. This hotel has superb location but it is rather old and the beds were not comfortable. The service and staff were good. They should refund us 1/3 of the rent.
Good location, lacking amenities.
This quaint hotel has a great location, right by the seaside and close to many shops and restaurants. Two complaint said: 1) the worst bath towels ever. It's was like drying off with a dinner napkin 2) you couldn't find cheaper pillows. Really? Think about what you'd want to offer guests in you home. Overall, we liked the place...but you asked? Right?
Great hotel in charming beach town
Good stop over to leave from airport. Quaint small town. Nit was fun riding their free bicycles by the beach. Make sure you use their shuttle service for 20 euro from airport because airport taxi tried to charge us 60 euro after quoting us a different fee as we were leaving the airport.the shuttle was reliable and will take you for much less anywhere you want to go. The bathroom and bedroom were comfortable. Waterfall shower. Could be updated a little bit.
good stay
it was out of season so not much open but great hotel
So-so Hotel
Okay hotel but did not have a safe room for luggage storage & wifi access was not free. Airport transfer was also expensive compared to another hotel.
Memories of Days Past
I stayed at this hotel for one night before my flight back to the USA. I chose it because of its proximity to Rome's Fiumicino Airport and because it offered shuttle service to and from the airport. Located in the beach town of Fregene, the very helpful shuttle driver told me about the grand history of this town, which in its heyday was the getaway for many Italian celebrities and of Rome's rich and powerful. The hotel itself seems like a throwback to the swingin' 50's and 60's when Fellini even used it as a location for a scene in his famous movie 'La Dolce Vita'. And while the grounds looked a little drab (perhaps because it was the off-season), the location right at the edge of the Mediterranean is probably a wonderful spot in the middle of the summer when the heat becomes unbearable in Rome.
Fregene in May
Looked like a beautiful area but out of tourist season almost everything was closed.
Go in season to enjoy this place.
We stayed in the off season prior to a flight out of Rome, the hotel had very little to do and its restaurant was about the only place to eat in the town that evening. The service was good , but the food was underwhelming. The staff was very courteous and helpful.
Very Strange Hotel
We stayed in La Conchilia on the last night of our vacation. It was supposed to be near the FCO airport but it was on the wrong side and was actually quite a distance. The hotel was very run down and seemed to be on its last days. It is a nice design and has potential but is now a very sad place.
Charming place, a hotel with a history.
I just went for a night arriving in the evening and leaving in the morning to catch a flight from FCO and didn't know anything about this hotel, but then I learned from the taxi driver that this is actually an hotel with a rich and excuisite story. Federico Fellini stayed there every summer for 30 years, the hotel even featured in "La Dolce Vita" and many other celebrities used to stay here. Before that, even Gabriele D'Annunzio stayed here. Now times have changed but the hotel still retains a certain '70s charm, and it's right in front of the (nearly invisible) beach. I liked this place a lot, I would go back and I reccomend it. Not so its restaurant though.
Hidden treasure
Fabulous place to stay. So close to the airport and right on the ocean and a lovely town. Every trip will include staying here at least the day before departure to the US.
Taxi fare was more than the room!
If you’re looking for a hotel to overnight near Fiumicino (Rome, FCO) Airport, you must choose from many in Fiumicino. This hotel also comes up on the search, but they have expanded the airport security perimeter, and its now 12 miles (20 km) from the terminal. The taxi starter won’t put you in a taxi until you agree to a 48 euro ($60 US) fare. In spite of listing an airport shuttle, they don’t really have one. Faced with that fare, they had no one to send for us and Marta refused to order us a local taxi. They do know a local person with a small car who can take 3 people at a time on return. He can only make 1 trip an hour, though, so since he already had a family at 9 AM we had to leave at 8 AM for an 11:25 flight. The hotel is a nice property, and Fregenae is a nice old beach resort town. If you were going to the beach for a week, it would be nice (although most restaurants looked closed in October). The staff (incl Giusy, at the front desk for 30 years), was a delight and the breakfast buffet was complete.
Convenient location near the airport
Was easy to access the airport
Nice, but not an airport hotel
Great hotel and location for a one-night beach trip before going into Rome. However, don't think it's an airport hotel. It's close on the map, but the taxi drivers have to go WAY out of the way to take you (25km), and charged me 55 euros. For perspective, downtown Rome to the airport is a set 48 euros by taxi. Took a bus for 2 euros to the subway in Rome the next day. But the hotel is nice, just not close.
last minute getaway
last minute decision and I was so pleased, with location and service. Hotel needs a good painting, specially my room, wall was all scratched, and dirty. Pillows were hard. Breakfast is continental, not impressed ,but coffe was good. Great service from staff ,specially Jean Franco the driver that picks you up at airport, the 15 euros are worth it. Also LIna and Marta friendly and zhelpful. Do go to town to Spirits and Food (ask Jean Franco is were his son works),great small buffet for just 5 euros per drink, Lucca the owner ,very charming!!
Great if you need a hotel close to FCO Airport
Exactly what we needed. Staff spoke excellent English and restaurants nearby across the street were excellent. The only thing is this is a beachfront hotel. It was clearly off season and the bathroom had a bad odor (like standing water under the shower floor (=Drain). Other than that, property is a little beat up, but perfect for that last night stay in Italy and low stress 10 Euro pp ride to airport in the morning. Oh, they charged us 1 2 Euro PP "city tax" which was a surprise, but not a terrible one.
Fantastic alternative to Rome
We stayed three nights at the hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel is located across the road from the beach, which was clean. Staff at the hotel were very nice and although the hotel is older, it had loads of character. Take a bike and explore Fregene, it is lovely. There are great patisseries and restaurants within walking distance of the hotel. We would love to go back again.
Nice beach front hotel with modern fittings
After a busy few days in Rome, was great to relax in this lovely beach front hotel. We had a lovely room in an annex building with a sea view balcony. Great sized room, large bed & massive shower. Breakfast was buffet style with lots to choose from. The beach attached to the hotel was just across the road, you can hire 2 sun beds & an umbrella at a reduced rate, ours was in with the room, bikes are also available for investigating Fregene. Staff were very helpful, & all spoke very good english if your Italian is a bit iffy! Not far from the airport or Ostia Antica (ruined Roman city) Fregene is a small town with lots of pine trees & lovely to walk in, variety of shops, cafes & restaurants dotted around but most beach areas have restaurants & if you love sea food this is the place for you. Would go back again.
Nice surprise
I was looking for an economy overnight stay, I wish I could have a vacation here. It is excellent value for the money.
Trendy fittings & furniture, excellent sea views
fittings & furniture trendy with a nice shower in the bathroom . The place looks rather deserted and needs thorough detailed cleaning. Could improve on breakfast. No hot food. No information in hotel rooms I.e phone numbers etc. Free wifi only available at the reception. Shuttle/Taxi available from hotel. Friendly helpful staff, understand English No towels in the room Beach accessible but sorrounded by private villas. Play area for kids on the beach. Nice restaurant available - short walk from hotel( BBQ)
Not as close as you would think
Nice hotel but not close to the airport, as the cab driver kept saying. In theory, you could get here by public transit, but not at night. If you are driving, and want to stay close to the airport near the beach, then this hotel is great! Everyone was friendly and the rooms were huge and breakfast was delicious and big.
Really friendly staff, hotel across from beach
On a business trip and needed to be close to office. Hotel offers a shuttle service/driver. Good hotel. Great value for money and staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Unfortunately wifi not working until engineer came to fix it (although reception offered use of their computer if needed).
Nice hotel close to the beach
Staff are very helpful and friendly, you should at least eat once in the restaurant as it has wonderful food. I throughly enjoyed my stay there and they even organized someone to drive me to the airport on my last day, only cost me 15 euros instead of 30 plus for a taxi. You can get a return ticket to rome for 8 euros and that let's you use public transport in rome all day to go wherever you like. I stayed in this hotel for my last week in Italy and it was by far the best place I stayed during my whole trip.
60's Charm Comfortable but Out-of-the-Way
Very deserted during the first part of October 2013. Rooms were older, but large including bath. Felt like we were the only guest there. A 20 Euro cab ride from the Rome Airport. Interesting though...and clean.
Awesome!
We had a room in a new building and were very satisfied with it. It had a very spacious and modern shower, large balcony with wonderful view of the ocean and the beach which was right across the street. Everything was clean, quiet, lobby was cozy. Breakfast was ok but the dinner (not included) was really good. Overall I loved it.
Our stay at La Conchiglia
Delightful, helpful Staff. Gratis bikes very useful. Beach gorgeous. Good Breakfast. Rooms beautifully clean.
Only recommendable
The hotel staff is very nice & helped us a lot. They organized shuttle from and to airport, recommended very good restaurants and gave us bikes to explore the area around. The hotel rooms are very big and comfortable and the breakfast is of good quality. If you stay here, you even get free entrance to the beach club only 100 meters away from the hotel. We really liked to stay here and will most probably come back on our next stop at Rome aiport.
If you want something nice this is no no!
The location is amazing by the beach, around 45 min from Rome and not far from airport, no turists, quiet and peaceful little place. Hotel and service is different story...lady that was at the reception not very nice/friendly a specially when you have problem with your room....toilet in our room was bloocked flooding our room and you know what they have not done anything about it for few day we stayed there!!! Very annoying!!!
Nice hotel near the beach.
Great location. Interesting room with different (in a good way) layout. From our room we could hear a outdoor beach bar band past our bedtime, but not too late. The room had a huge "rainfall" shower that was wonderful.
Good and Dire!
My grades might sound contradictory, I'll explain. We were staying for one night before an early flight from Fiumicino. We arrived and were taken by a charming receptionist ( the only person on duty I think) to our first room. It was dismal, dark and gloomy with a view over the back of the hotel, rubbish and all! I looked in the bathroom and there were no towels and the bin was full. The lady on reception was hugely apologetic and took us to a room that overlooked the sea and had a balcony, but unfortunately work was being done to all the balconies on this floor so the doors were locked and the rooms ostensibly out of use. The room had been updated and was very nice, super bathroom with a great shower. It would have been a really good room if the balcony had been usable. The hotel really needed a coat of paint and some love; the old rooms were totally grim though. It could have been a really quirky, nice hotel. Such a shame.
Short but sweet.
Unfortunately we only got to spend a few hours in the hotel but we enjoyed the time we had there. The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was nice and we were pleased that we got to eat before our long journey home. We would definitely like to come back and enjoy a longer stay.
Nice hotel not far from beach.
Very nice hotel. Rooms were unique and different and we liked them alot. Staff spoke very good English and were extremely helpful. We walked to reasonably priced restaurant on beach. Breakfast was good.
First Part of Two Week Stay in Italy
The hotel is easy to miss on the outside as it is surrounded by a wall but as most everything in Fregene is surrounded by walls, I realized it was not that unusual. Just was hard for cabbie from airport to find. On the outside, the hotel looked a little dated but the room and staff dispelled any doubts I might have had. For a small town hotel across from the beach, I liked the location. Right outside the hotel was the local bus stop to take to train station to ride into Rome and the hotel front desk staff were very courteous and helpful in explaining the bus route/train schedules to one who had never traveled by them before. In two days we were old hands at train travel. The hotel restaurant was a little pricey I thought at first but the food was excellent and delicious. I had the fish and was not disappointed. During our trip, there were times when we paid more for less. Their rooms seemed very modern despite exterior impressions, memory foam beds and we could not stop commenting on their rain-style shower which was really cool. I did find their beds extremely firm but I do not like memory foam beds to begin with so I dealt with it. One thing that was a negative in my mind was the A/C. Could not figure it out. I am one of those blokes that like things nice and cool but it was not my first trip to Italy and I know A/C is not a thing for them as it is for us in Texas. The nights were cool so we opened the patio door and stayed nice and cozy.
Good for couples who like good food. Food costly.
Reception, waiting staff friendly, helpful. Good brerakfast choice, excellent dinner food. On our second night the restaurant was closed as it was a bank holiday, but reception recommended a good local restaurant. Good ground floor outside area.
Good location for the airport
This hotel was perfect for our last night as we needed to be close to the airport. There isn't much around (within walking distance) at the time of year that we went (October). It was pretty dead on the beach in terms of open restaurants (ie none open and it looked like they hadn't been open for a few years!). We ate at the hotel and that was good quality food.
Our "special treat" a big disappointment
We booked La Conchiglia as a romantic end to our trip in Italy... without being too mean, it was a big disappointment. We read a lot of good reviews about this place and the photos looked awesome so we were excited about spending our last night there. When we got to the hotel (NOT close to the airport and a 40 euro cab ride away), we were put in a room that was extremely outdated with stained bed spreads, smokestained walls, no deck or view and nothing like what the photos showed. We asked to be switched to a room like we thought we had booked online and were switched to a less dirty room, but certainly not what we were expecting. The beach was nice but while the description said the hotel was ON the beach, it certainly is not. I would pay the extra money and stay closer to the airport next time.
Overnight Stay
The hotel is quite good but we made the mistake of thinking it was close and handy to Fumincino Airport so would be a good place to stay overnight before an early flight. The shuttle does not operate on Sunday and with taxi fare to get there and paying for the shuttle on Monday we added sixty Euros to the bill. Tho hotel is clean and in good repair.
Very nice staff, but 30min from airport!
I should start by saying the staff was very helpful in providing round trip transportation to the airport for 20€ each way which was better than the 60€ for a taxi! The staff was also very friendly, however the hotel is far beyond it's prime. My wife had booked our stay because the description said it was 5 min from the airport-actually 20-30. The rooms were very out dated and shower leaking covered the bathroom floor. Overall I would not suggest this hotel but in a last min pinch it can work.
Close to the airport, reasonably priced
We stayed in this hotel which is located adjacent to the beach road in October. * The rooms clearly showed the season's wear and tear. The first room offered to us was set back in an isolated location and was clearly an inferior room. While clean, it was extremely basic and dark. However, when we asked for another room near the front, offering to pay to upgrade if necessary, the desk clerk provided a significantly better room to us at the same price. This room was contemporary, but was on the ground floor. Its one opening, a sliding door, opened out to a small patio that was adjacent to the parking lot. Once again, we felt uneasy about safety, and chose to keep the door locked. The towels were of the thin linen kind, which were just adequate. The breakfast included provided pastry, rolls, some savory meats and fruit (no hot food) which were fresh and plentiful. while this hotel is on the beach, there is no way to access the beach, since all areas seem to be owned by private clubs, and they were all closed (and locked) for the season. The hotel is about a 20 minute drive from Rome'sFiumocino airport. It is an adequate alternative to pricier hotels at the airport.
Near Airport but in a funky but upscale beach community
Stayed here one night because of its near airport location couple with the free on-site parking. Location is across from beach and in a higher end Roman suburb. Hotel had free rental bikes which made our afternoon arrival fun as it was a great way to explore this very private residential area before our early morning 25 minute drive to the car rental return at airport. Not sure how this location would work out in the summer when I imagine this area must be considerably more busy. Hotel building is a "modern design" but a little tired. Also, whoever thought that a see through glass wall to the shower bathroom area was a good idea ???
Good
Hotel itself ok... Lovely and friendly staff.... Poor breakfast buffet, but all in all would recommend. Room was clean and comfortable.
