Central to termini but noisy
Its affordable and central, but its also no soundproofing and the heating didnt work. The narrow single bed was squeaky and the thin worn blanket wasnt enough in the chilli March nights when the heater didnt work.
perfect place to saty
Very close to Termini station, Conad, and many restaurants. Very old elevator and property. Not necessarily a bad thing… just beware of this before you book! I especially loved the coffee counter…and the sweet old man running it. The Italian grandpa you wish you had . I do wish the bidet were not so close to shower. Hard to take a shower with the door opening in instead of out :(
Thank you for a wonderful stay at Hotel Katty! We had some issues before we arrived as our flight changed and was due to arrive after the usual check in time, but the hotel worked with us to find a solution, which we really appreciated. We used their transfer service from the airport which was perfect and very easy. For a 1* hotel, everything was excellent. The hotel was up a lot of stairs which I personally liked (I see it as a free gym session!) but my partner used the small lift which worked well. We love to walk and could get to the Trevi fountain in around 25 mins, and the train station was only 10 mins walk away. Lots of dining options close by to the hotel too. The breakfast in the nearby cafe was brilliant. The staff in there were so friendly and always had a great choice of pastries to choose from. The room was clean and spacious and had everything we needed. My biggest annoyance in hotel rooms is having enough plug points but this room has more than enough and USB points too. There was also plenty of hanging hooks in the bathroom which is appreciated. The bathroom was perfect and has a few toiletries when we arrived. Towels were changed daily! The only negative was that the walls are very thin and I’m a light sleeper, so I was woken up a lot by other people coming and going, a child crying, someone singing etc. But all the positives outweigh this. Overall, we loved our stay at Hotel Katty and if I visit Rome again I would definitely come back to this hotel.
Hotel Katty was fantastic. We stayed for 4 nights and from the minute we checked-in until the second we checked-out the hosts were marvellous, warm-blooded and kind individuals. If we come back to Rome, we will definitely be staying here again. The surrounding area has great cafes, our favourite being Le Levain, a nice pizza and kebab shop called Cairo Kebab and it is an easy walk (10 mins) to the main station (Termini), you can easily walk to Trevi Fountain and then Pantheon within a 30 minute time frame. There are many local supermarkets too, Pam local being our go-to. I had a lovely time at Rome, I cannot wait to visit again.
Highly recommend
The property was super clean. The staff went over and above to help me navigate the Italian telephone network to report stolen credit cards to North America.
Good clean hotel, for those on a budget.
If your idea of a good hotel is glass and stainless steel this one isn’t for you. It is a small hotel on the fifth floor (served by a lift) a few blocks (15 minutes walk) from Termini in an early 20th century building. The hotel is clean and our rooms were well appointed. We had two rooms. My son and daughter stayed in a fairly conventional double whereas that of myself and my wife was one where two rooms had been knocked through to create a triple. The lines layout meant that the double was next to a wall so we decided that one of us would sleep in the single and the other in the double. The bathroom and shower was superb, fairly new and worthy of several stars. Breakfast was at a cafe bar a few streets away- whilst it was only a croissant and a hot drink it was sufficient and the cafe staff friendly. The street on which it was located was fairly quiet and lacked the brashness of those closest to Termini. We would not hesitate to come back.
Perfect place to stay
Convenient hotel, in a location not too far away from Termini station, and close to Metro line. Air conditioned room, clean, staff very helpful. We had a perfect stay. Thank you.
The hotel is clean, comfortable and tidy. It is a repurposed apartment with several rooms being used as a Hotel.
Wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. WasThe room was fine although it had a tiny bathroom and a tiny elevator going to the 5th floor room well that's to be expected for a building this old.
Centrally located small hotelclose to Termini station
I had been to the hotel also in 2017. It's a typical Roman etage hotel, meaning it occupies one or more floors in a larger apartment/condo building. The rooms are nice and spacious. The bathrooms are a little tight due to them having been added on more recently. A fridge is in the room. Breakfast is not served at the hotel, but you can buy a coupon and redeem it at a Cafe nearby for a coffee and a bakery item.
Clean basic hotel that is close to Roma Termini. Great if you just want a place to sleep. Friendly staff and rooms cleaning every day
Location
Staff was very friendly, however we had to ask for more soap, towels, toilet paper, the remote for the air conditioning.
Very friendly staff. Good location for public transportation. Spacious room.
Great
If the app hadn't reminded in an email, I'd never have guessed it was 1 star. Very large room, as quiet as possible in the middle of a busy city, kettle, safe, hairdryer, tv all as stsndard (no cups but we were given some when we asked), towels changed in line wuth eco policies but room cleaned daily. The beds felt a little too soft but that could be a personal preference, but that's my only gripe.
No fuss, clean, central and perfect for busy Rome visitors
Muito bom! Area segura, perto de estações de metrô, zona de restaurantes...
Rare gem
Awesome little hotel. Well located, easy access, beautiful and comfortable room. Truly a rare find in a big city.
Small and little hotel perfect for resting and recharge… very quiet and clean… close enough to all Rome tourists attractions without the noose and people. We’re coming back for sure.
The room was simple yet very clean. There really wasn’t much of a front desk, nobody was typically present, only accessed via email or text. Since it was our first time in Rome, we mistakenly thought staff would be readily available to answer questions about the city and transportation, but that wasn’t the case.
Never again
A few days before the fligjt we had a message from the hotel stating that they couldn't provide breakfast , which we said ok as they stated that they'd refund us the money. Now the location is not far from Roma Termini railway The hotel is on the 5th floor but it does have a lift, we we're greeted by who we thought was the owner, who at first wanted the city tax though we agreed that as the refund was the same price it cancelled it out. Room was spacious and looked new... I really wanted to like this hotel.. day after we notice bite marks on our legs but we put it down to mosquitoes, day two it was worse and a chemist statdd it was bed bugs in all the beds. We went to the ower and gor shot down stated it wasn't and said we need to try a anti fly spray but we covered the bedsto stop them biting. The cleaner also took offence to us over it though she never did any xlwaning just making beds with the same sheets and changing towels. We were glad to leave that place. Travellers beware.
Would stay again
Great stay. Pleasant surprise having a bathroom each and top location
Exceptionally clean
Stayed for 3 nights. Exceptionally clean, except the bathroom was bit stinky perhaps due to the type of cleaning product used. The beds were think and kind of hard. Overall excellent stay
Budget hotel. Very small, basic room with en suite bathroom and small balcony which might be useful to smokers. Room contained a wardrobe with hangers, a desk and chair, refrigerator, TV, limited shelf space and a single bed. Bathroom was relatively modern. The door on the shower folded inwards and the small cubical size made opening and closing it a slightly difficult manoeuvre when stood in the shower! Everything worked and the room was serviced every day provided (as is reasonable) you vacate the room before 10.30am. Cleanliness was fine. On the negatives...it can be noisy. All the rooms face into the reception area so conversations and doors slamming are just metres away from your bed. However, noise did not persist until very late. Accessing the hotel might seem non-standard. It actually occupies the 5th floor of a building so after turning off the street into a communal yard and then turning again to stairs / lift, you need to get to the the 5th floor and then, if the reception door is closed, ring a bell. Thankfully, there are signs to follow. The lift is very dated with manually operated internal and external doors. It works but some might find it a little scary! On location, it's around 10 to 15 minutes' walk from the main train station and nearest Metro. It is about 30 minutes' walk from the Central area (Coliseum and Roman Forum). Provided you note that this is a one star hotel at a budget price (for Rome), you won't be disappointed.
Very clean and close to train station
Good service, Bad value, worth €40/night
Location is great, 10 mins walk from Termini. Service was also great with quick replies via email and WhatsApp. Receptionist Piera was ready to rec'v us even though we checked in late (11pm). Lidio also helped us reserve a taxi to Ciampino for 3am (€50). Both receptionists communicated proficiently in English and housekeeping was very welcoming. The biggest issue was the lack of value. After all fees I spent €280/4 nights, approx. €70/night. This place is simply not worth that amount, maybe €40/night. The only reason I chose this hotel was because mysteriously, there were no hotel available for the dates I wanted, perhaps due to the G20 summit taking place in Rome during the same time. Only consider this place if the room price is less than €40/night, otherwise look for more valuable options. Other than that, room and bathroom was clean enough, timer light switches so good for eco friendly. TV worked, and there was a lift to get to the 5th floor (capacity 2 ppl). Breakfast option has a value of €4 for pastry and coffee at the Pretorius Café across the street.
Great value convenient location for Central Train
Clean, reasonably spacious, simple accommodation about 10 minute walk from Rome Termini central rail station. Excellent value. Take small elevator to the 5th floor in a reasonably quiet area. Good COVID practices in place and helpful receptionist booked a taxi for us for an early (6AM) pickup. Best for economy minded fairly self sufficient somewhat experienced travelers.
Great
It was great!! When in Rome, we always stay at the Katty
Everthing is terrible in this property including suddenly gone room lights and dusty blankets. There is no cattle in the the room and hospitality desk.
OK for a 2 night stay
There is room for improvement. Likes: - the fact that the staff spoke english - everything was explained perfectly to us - quite clean - quiet area, very close to Termini Station (~7 min walk) - hot water - comfortable mattress - clean sheets Dislikes: - very small and unvaried breakfast - dirty walls inside the room - cracked walls inside the room - the radiator was too small for the size of the room, even if it was hot itself, the room was cold during the night
Great budget friendly accom
Great budget priced accommodation walking distance to Roma Termini station. Friendly staff, good WIFI and very good aircon. Close to some good restaurants and bars.
A good choice.
The hotel is a close walk to Termini and the Metro. The room was great. We were a mother and son travelling and we had separate beds and two bathrooms. Up on the fifth floor so safe and quiet. And a fridge so we could go to the supermarket which was just around the corner. The hotel was a cool haven in the midst of crazy HOT Rome.
I liked that it is close to the train station, metro stop and grocery. It is a small hotel and the front desk is only open for a short time. It was a nice, quiet, safe location and we enjoyed our stay. Clean and safe.
In fact, my stay was too short to give a fair evaluation, but the facililities is good for the price.
Great value for a budget hotel
Thi is a great place to stay if you’re travelling on a tight budget. Check-in was a breeze and the room I stayed in was clean and comfortable. The hotel is within the hotel district and thus very safe (in fact there is a military checkpoint a few metres from the hotel). It is however on the upper floors of the building. There is a lift though. One of the plus points of this hotel too is it’s proximity to Roma Termini (central train station) and a Metro stop of Line B. The breakfast was in a cafe 5mins walk from the hotel. Simple but hey it’s complimentary.
Keep in mind that this is a budget hotel, with that in mind my stay there was wonderful. The rooms are clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Concetta, she's so sweet and speaks English and Spanish also. The hotel is on the 4th floor. The main train station is 4 blocks away and so is the hop-on hop-off buses. Half a block from the Turkish embassy and surrounded by small great restaurants.
Clean and close to the trains
This place is very close to Roma Termini station and it was pretty easy to find. They were kind enough to extend their check in time for me when I knew I was going to land into Rome later than their check in. It is located in a quiet neighborhood but very close to lots of places to eat and drink. The room is perfect for a solo traveler with a private shower, fridge, AC and great internet connection.
Clean Hotel Near Station
We stayed here for one night (family of four adults) as we needed to be close to the station. We were all impressed with Hotel Katty - it was clean and spacious. The only downfall is it is on the fourth floor and the hotel's lift is very small. It's suitable for one person and a suitcase, however I don't know if a wheelchair or pushchair would fit in. However this hotel suited our needs and I would use the hotel if I return to Rome.
Ideal starting point for most attractions in Rome
Very close to the train station and a very clean and tidy hotel. Perfect starting point for sight seeing in Rome. Its about a 20/30 minute walk to the colosseum and the forum. Its about 10 minutes walk to the start of the shops and restaurants.
easy to find, nice place to stay. breakfast was not too bad.
Nice
Although it is labeled as a two start hotel, it is actually one floor apartment with 5-6 rooms. The experience is more of a hostel with a private bathroom. The room was very clean and big. We liked that the location was away from all the downtown craziness but close to a metro station. The staff was very friendly and helpful the few times we run into them.
The breakfast sucks and you have to walk to it. that could be done at the hotel and I would be happy to serve it to all. Overall, good and will recommended.
Well located basic hotel.
A very friendly family hotel. Everybody was so helpful and obliging. The location was quiet but still in easy access of everything. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was a coupon for a local cafe. It was basic. Fruit juice, croissant and coffee. My only complaint was that if you wanted something more substantial, the cafe didn't start serving a full breakfast until after 9.30.
Nice hotel, close to Termini station
The hotel is very close to Termini station. Close to hotel you can find both supermarket and Souvenirs shops. If you in Rome for sightseeing, not staying at hotel room, it is nice hotel. The room was clean, they have everyday housekeeping.
Good value for money
We stayed for 5 nights and really liked the hotel. Room was large, personnel friendly. The only thing I would add is a table. Bathroom was a bit small.
Hotel close to the train station
This hotel was a surprise. I have never stayed in a 1 star hotel so I was apprensive. I would definitely stay here again the hotel was clean there is a small lift to the 4th floor. The staff was helpful arranging our ride to the airport and was very accomadating. The metro station was within a 10 minute walk. Good restaurants nearby. This hotel lives up to its trip advisor rating.
Served the purpose for an economical stay
Needed an inexpensive room for a few nights. Just wanted a clean place to sleep and shower. This was perfect.
Clean, comfortable, convenient, WiFi issues.
The hotel would have met all of my needs except the the WiFi did not work 2 out of 3 nights. There was no English speaking staff available to help me resolve this issue. As I needed Internet to plan the next day's activities this was a major henderence. If there wasn't the issue with the WiFi, I would have been perfectly happy with my stay.
Reasonable hotel in Rome
This hotel was on the 4th and 5th floor of a building a few blocks from the termini. There was a small old elevator that was unpredictable so if there are any issues climbing stairs, you might reconsider. Reception spoke limited but adequate English. Free breakfast consisted of a pastry and drink. We thought the hotel was adequate for our needs.
Close to train station.
Very nice staff. Great for one or two nights! Easy to find. It served us well.
A bit disappointed.
Decent, low budget place. But spend a few more bucks and stay in a nicer place. Front desk was shifty. They wouldn't honor the price I was quoted on Hotels.com. They insisted they had some other taxes that aren't included via the web price. No real service from the front desk. They are closed most of the time. Take my advice, spend a few more bucks and avoid this place.
great value...worth another star.
Brilliant
Billing discrepancy bet. Hotel Katty and Hotels.co
When I was about to pay, Fierra, the receptionist told me that the charge from Hotels.com was cash payment only and that's the reason they were giving discount but that was not written or stated on Hotels.com payment policy. I don't know who was lying, either Hotel Katty ornHotels.com. I paid more than the initial charges because I used my credit card as form of payment.
Unpolite people, I don't recommend. Location good.
Service: people unpolite since we arrive until we leave. Occurences: 1) Day we arrived , lady said we need to pay cash since the price was very good (reserved on hotels.com). I checked later and realized that I had paid hotel already, before arrival, so nonsense request. And they need to inform you in advance if you have to pay cash (which is not smart from a business point of view for travelers). 2) The day we were leaving, we were heading to breakfast and old lady stopped us on the aisle and started talking very loud to us, yelling that we have to pay the city visitor tax (3 EUR per person per day, 24 Euro for 2 days !), did not wait for us to come back and pay at the checkout as planned, we have to pay right away. 3) check out was 11am, but reception called us at 10h30am requiring check out. Again, very unpolite, unnecessary. Conclusion: Very disapointing , bad service since we arrive until we leave , specially considering we paid before arrival. Only person polite was a man. Room space: good, 2 bathrooms, good size beds. Fridge. Room cleaniness: good Wifi (room) : medium to weak signal. Breakfast: poor, 1 capuccino and 1 croissant only akjfadlfj Location: good, near Termini. Close to subway tool Building conditions: small elevator, but in good conditions. Old building appearence. I would not return to this hotel.
Just simple room to sleep
Do not expect Hilton size or standard !. Hotel is a converted big flat contains 4 or 5 rooms, but is very clean and quiet. Staff is very friendly and helpfull. If you looking for a place to sleep, you can't choose better.
nice little hotel with good location
Really nice little hotel only 5 minutes away from the major train station in Rome where all the major tour groups/buses are. The price was great to I would definitely recommend it and would stay there again
Great Location, Very helpful Staff / Reception
It was a short and nice stay. Location and hospitality was great. Small but clean room/toilet. Breakfast is though a meager one, with one croissant and one drink.
Nice hotel near transportation sign see it
Great experience and very convenient to many things
Cute, reasonably priced hotel
Hotel Katty was really cute and fairly comfortable. It's incredibly convenient to Termini, the main Rome train station, but it's a bit inconvenient to everything else. But that being said, it's about a 5-minute walk to the nearest metro station, and you can get pretty much anywhere using the metro. We reserved a single room, but the nice hotel staff gave us a bigger room with one double bed and one single bed, two air conditioning units, and two bathrooms, which was great. The room also included a mini fridge and TV. Free wifi was reliable. Elevator worked. The hotel felt very safe and was quiet. The beds were the comfort level you'd expect for a one- or two-star hotel, but overall the room was comfortable for our 5-night stay. Cleaning crew came every day. Oh, this is true for anywhere in Europe it seems, but BRING YOUR OWN WASHCLOTHS. Only towels and hand towels are provided. The free breakfast was fine, just a coffee beverage and pastry at a cafe right across the street. Go to Dar Sorchettaro, an amazing hole-in-the-wall bakery near the hotel. It's only open from 11:00PM to 7:00AM.
Amazing value, great location and brilliant servic
Exceeded our expectations on all levels. Easy to locate, we walked from termini station. Very clean room. Maybe some would feel on the small and simple side but we weren't looking for luxury just somewhere clean to lay our heads at night. Free wifi was provided as well as free breakfast which was great! The hotel katty also provided a return subway pass free of charge which was a nice touch. The hotel attendant couldnt have been more helpful and friendly and we were very grateful for his refreshingly positive customer service. The hotel is conveniently located 5 min walk from a subway station which made getting around rome very easy.
Budget Hotel
Booked this hotel as near train station which was good. Everything, room, cleanliness, service etc was okay but not great. You get what you pay for and it was adequate so I wouldn't knock it. Just don't have your expectations too high.
comfort and convenient stay
price, location, comfort, cleanness all good, except staff not understanding English, not very friendly.
Good location - a short walk from Termini
Family of five stayed overnight. Very clean room and friendly staff. Breakfast was coffee and pastry at nearby bar (kids had coke and pastry but were offered juice!). Apartment was quiet. Overall OK.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, very clean hotel.
Nice hotel, friendly staff, very clean hotel. Close to the train station, the hop-on\hop-off bus, and many restaurants.
Hotel Katty in Rome
The hotel is on the 4th floor and it was a little daunting to have a little lift with a 3-person maximum capacity. We had 4 adults with 4 large and 4 smaller suitcases. Our room was an adequate size, but the second room was pretty small and we paid the same price. Location was noisy and streets were not very clean. It's more of a rooming house than a hotel to me, but at least we had our own bathroom in each of the 2 rooms. The rooms were clean proximity to Termini Station was not too far. If you're looking for just a place to sleep this will do if you don't mind the noise at night.
Great value for location
Hotel Katty was a great value for the location. It was about a 10 minute walk to the Termini station and a few minutes walk to the C. Pretorio station. The hotel is located on the fifth floor, but the elevator does not always work. We needed to lug our luggage up five flights of stairs to check into the hotel. The room was small but clean and comfortable. The free breakfast consists of a coffee and a pastry at a neighboring cafe. The bathroom was small, but the showers had good pressure and temperature control. Our room came with a mini-fridge which was nice to have. The WiFi was inconsistent. At times, it was usable albeit slow. Other times, connections would be dropped due to the slow speed.
You get what you pay for?
I took a single room, which was very close to the 'front desk', for 5 nights. The lobby was usually quiet but one night there was a late check-in (after 10) and the staff made no effort to control the noise level; I felt like a participant in the process. Otherwise, the hotel was very quiet. Breakfast consists of a chit for a coffee and croissant at a bar across the street; one day it wasn't open as scheduled (8:00 on Sat) and I paid to eat elsewhere. The wifi is quite good and reliable. The bed was no more than a meter wide; not a problem for me but it could be for you.
Old building NICE room
You can get the lift from the old movies! Rooms are nice and clean, big bathroom, high speed wifi. There is a small restro nearby, tastes quite Italian and super good.
Good
Nice.
Great Hotel
This was our second time staying at the Katty Hotel in Rome and we were not disappointed. It was as clean and comfortable as we remembered. The Katty is within walking distance to Termini (main train station) as well as several restaurants. Next time we are in Rome we will be staying at Katty again!
Great Room in Good Location
Had a room for family of 5 with ensuite. Breakfast vouchers for cappuccino/hot choc & croissant at cafe across street great idea.
Great Proximity
Katty House had a very convenient location, easy walk from Termini with lots of VERY reasonably priced restaurants nearby (serving excellent food). The room was basic and clean, with helpful staff, exactly what one would expect for the price in Rome, in a location where you can walk to everything. The bed, though, was exceptionally hard, and actually felt as if you were sleeping on the floor. The breakfast was minimal, but food in Rome so great that it didn't even matter.
Very close to Termini Station
I really enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Katty in Rome. It is about 10 min walk to the Termini station, they have breakast (which is just a croissant and a drink) - so not a complete continental breakfast as per American standards, but pretty decent. Make sure u dont lose your breakfast coupon which they give at the time of check in, coz u have to walk 5 mins to a nearby cafe to have breakfast. Room was good, airconditioner and wifi worked fine. The receptionist Conchetta is a really nice and helpful woman. The only downside is that the hotel is on the 4th floor and the lift doesnt always work. I had to lug my heavy bag of 22 kilos / 48 pounds and a handbag and laptop bag all the way.
Great hotel & location
Great location - 7 min walk from the central train station and about 15-40 min walk from the main attractions /Vatican. Supermarket and restaurants are nearby. Breakfast consists of a pastry and coffee.
Not too bad but..
The room was clean but small. Location was good as it was near to metro station and main train station. Lots of restaurants nearby too. However, I didn't like the breakfast provided. We had to walk to the cafe, though nearby, but it was only a croissant and a drink. There was a day when we went a little late and there were no croissants left! If you do need hairdryer, do let them know when you check in as no staff will be around when you're back to the hotel late to ask for one. I also think the hotel has energy saving lights as the lights go off on its own after some time even though we were still in the room or worst, in the middle of a shower!
Excellent budget hotel in a great location
We traveled from Montreal, and stayed for 5 days in a 4 bed bedroom, and got 4 single beds. Room was small, but this is normal for Europe, and the high ceilings compensated for the small size. We used this hotel as a base to discover Rome, and we loved the strategic location. It’s relatively (2 star hotel) comfortable, clean, air conditioned, safe naborhood, good restaurants, pizza and Gelato stops all around, well located to walk all over Rome (using metro), near metro and train station. Breakfast (one cappuccino and pastry) experience at the cafe across the street was pleasant as we experianced how the locals enjoyed their morning espresso breaks. Careful, If you are looking for a high end hotel then you will be disappointed, but if you are looking for a clean budget well located room, then this is an excellent choice.
Low-cost base for exploring Rome
Our stay was comfortable enough. Our room (#109) was one on the side of the building and barely wide enough to accommodate a double bed and desk. I saw a few other rooms when they were cleaning them that looked much larger so make sure you ask for one of those! The bed was comfortable, although you can hear everybody coming and going, slamming doors which was irritating. The location is close to the termini and not a bad walk into town and the sites. Breakfast was ok, but we decided to skip it after the first morning and spend a few euros on a much nicer coffee and pastry down the road.
A bargain in a pricey area of Rome
Hotel Katty is quirky and bare bones, but perfect for a trip to Rome where you spend all your time out and only need a convenient, clean, and inexpensive place to sleep. The location is excellent, convenient to all forms of transportation as well as walking to the major sites, and the neighborhood is good. Breakfast is at an excellent cafe across the street, including some perfectly made coffee. The quirky parts of the hotel are an antique miniature elevator, old-school toilets, an oddball but extremely helpful and friendly staff, and really hard mattresses. The good features are a refrigerator, a very effective AC unit, and good wireless internet service. With a basic interior remodel, Katty could be a great place to stay.
Nice staff. Cozy. 5th floor & iffy security
Super staff & rooms were clean. Hard to find. Hotel is on 5th floor and the lift is slow and tiny.
Convenient, good value, but could be hot
We arrived around 21:30 on a Thursday evening. Night receptionist was very cold to us. However she did warm up during our visit. Beds were fine and room was clean. Location was close by metro and Termini station (but far enough away from termini to feel safe). Laundromat (lavandaria in Italian) was down the street. Breakfast was provided by a coffee bar down the street. Free wifi was awesome! Only watch out is that they do not turn on the air conditioning until July! Fortunately for us the nights in mid-June were cool enough we did not need it.
Close to Termini Train Station
8 min walk to Termini Station. We moved from another hotel near the Vatican to this one as we had an early morning train departure. It was fine for one night and could accommodate 3 persons. It has an elevator and the hotel is within a building located on the 4th floor. Clean, quiet, & nice gentleman at check in desk. Restaurants, grocery store near-by.
Friendly Rome
a comfortable room, friendly staff, great location which added to a wonderful experience in Rome. Patience of the staff with our Italian speaking, great shuttle service to the airport. All in all an experience which I would do again.
Clean and well located
Really clean rooms and very well located. I would definitely use it again.
Katty Hotel worked for us
For a budget hotel, Katty was just fine. It was conventient to Termini train station and the metro. You can get to any of the sights in Rome easily from the Metro. The neighborhood was a bit quite, but you could find restaurants, cafes or stores within walking distance. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The staff was not overly friendly, but helped us whenever we needed something. I would recommend this hotel for budget travel or train travel.
close to termini
I stayed there with a couple of my friends. We enjoyed our experience staying there. It's within walking distance to Roma Termini and other attractions like some of the big national museum. Plenty restaurants there, and also laundromat. The hotel is in the fourth floor, with a small old lift. The younger staffs speak English. The only drawback was during our stay there was trouble with the water, though it's not the hotel's fault. and also, there was no convenient store nearby, there's a supermarket some 500 meters or so, but it's closed early.
Budget hotel
Fairly decent for the price. Location convenient, about 10 minutes walk from Roma Termini. Shops, restaurants close by. Helpful and friendly staff, though not staffed 24 hours. Breakfast is actually 5 minutes walk away in a cafe. Breakfast needs to be more generous as the voucher only gets one cup of coffee and a croissant. No problems with WiFi.
Perfect location and A+ amenities
First of all, it is not well advertised, so make sure to print out the directions they send you to be able to find it. Also, it is located on the fourth floor, which was surprising, but there is a small elevator so you don't have to walk it. However, once we made it inside, we loved it! The front desk is not staffed 24/7, but they are helpful if you need something. They also provided a shuttle to the airport for airport for us which, with 4 people, turned out cheaper than a cab OR the train from termini, with front door pick up. The rooms are very clean, as are the bathrooms (ours was ensuite). The shower pressure of the shower was the strongest I felt my entire two months in Europe, which is hard to find over there. Add in the free wifi (strong connection) and airconditioning that actually worked, and I have no problem saying it's the best deal in Rome. Especially since it's only two blocks from Termini, where you can connect to BOTH of the metro lines, and thus get to any attraction for only $1.50 a ride, so the location is perfect. The bed itself was a rock, but even so, this hotel is definitely worth it. For essentially the same price as most hostels in similar location, it is a much better choice.
Great hotel for travellers on a budget
Hotel Katty is great if you want a cheap hotel close to Rome city centre. It is an easy walk from the station and it is in a safe area with lots of other hotels and foreign embassies nearby. The hotel is no frills, the breakfast is served in a cafe around the corner which didn't have a lot of choice but then again, we were quite late for breakfast so there might have been more choice earlier on! The free WIFI was great as well. I've never known free WIFI to actually work before but it did at Hotel Katty! Would definitely recommend this hotel for travellers on a budget.
Excellent location at a good price
Although this hotel is on the 4th level (5th if you're American) of a building (with a tiny lift that one of my children wouldn't even enter), it is in an extremely convenient location about a 15 minute walk to the Termini train station, where one can also catch the Metro, buses, and trams. The neighborhood has several embassies, and felt very safe to walk around in. The room was clean, and large enough for the 5 of us (family with 3 older children). There was a small refrigerator. The beds were somewhat hard, but we were tired enough each evening from sightseeing that no one complained. The family who ran it were very helpful with information. My only complaints are: 1) minimal breakfast at the bar two blocks away--decent coffee or juice, but the healthiest offering was a sugar-glazed croissant. We needed to make sure we bought yogurt, fruit, and rolls elsewhere for the morning. 2) No cups in the room or bathroom--we got plastic takeaway cups from elsewhere. 3) The airconditioner would stop cooling after a couple of hours, and would need to be turned off and turned back on.
Solo Traveller
Conveniently located to Termini - the main train station in Rome - as it was just a 5-10 minute walk to get to the hotel. The area itself feels safe either during the day or at night with guards seen regularly on patrol outside nearby government buildings. The room was spotless upon arrival and well-maintained each day I was there. All the mod-cons worked well and I was pleasantly surprised to find a small balcony adorned with flowers, to look out from each morning. The breakfast, served from a cafe/bar just a couple of blocks away, was typically continental with the choice of coffee/juice and a nice pastry. The staff at the hotel were very helpful with any queries I had and I would certainly recommend this as an enjoyable place to head back to once you've finished with your day's sightseeing.
Great value When in Rome!
The hotel was great -thoroughly clean & well kept, very good front desk service, room of very good size (with festoons of flowers on the balcony). Considering it was extremely close to the railway station and pretty busy roads it was incredibly quiet.
good budget hotel
A very good cheap place to stay, clean, well located, has WiFi but no computer for general use,the lady who owns the place seems angry all the time so watch out....
nice experience - good value for the money
The single rooms have a nice balcony with flowers - a very nice room, again, for the price you pay.... Location is also good - 10 min walk from the Termini station and 2 min walk from another Metro station.
The room was smart and clean. So many restaurants are in the near.
Meget venligt personale. Vi ville gerne komme der igen.

We really enjoyed our stay. It was quiet, clean, and central, and an excellent base for a holiday in Rome. The area is pleasant, with several 5* hotels and some embassies round the corner. The breakfast is supplied in a nearby cafe, and is just a coffee and croissant. There are several restaurants nearby. We especially appreciated the fridge and kettle.
