It was great

We picked this property because it was in the heart of places we wanted to see and we could walk to. Traffic was horrific, but I was able to manage with our car and we were able to parallel park very close every time. The rooms were small, but for the price and the free breakfast, it was easy to get over it. You get what you pay for, a place to sleep and breakfast in the morning. There is a restaurant right across the street that has great food and there is a market on the other corner. We were in our rooms most nights as it got dark, the street noise does quiet down as it gets later, and the other guests were very respectful with their noise levels. Even though the area might look a little sketchy, for someone new to traveling outside the US, we didn't have any damage done to our car and felt very safe walking around in the daytime.

I saw rats and cockroaches in the room where I stayed, All of the snacks I bought were destroyed by rats. Toilet and bathroom was dirty.

Las expectativas que me cree de un hotel que es 3 estrellas fueron más elevadas. • El baño mas sucio que he visto, la regadera y las paredes, increiblemente sucias. • No hay agua para bañarse, es tan poca que si la ducha dura mas de 5 minutos puede que tengas que quedarte enjabonado. • Las filtraciones del techo, es muy preocupante. Cualquiera puede enfermarse en una de esas habitaciones. • El aire no enciende hasta por lo menos 10 minutos, se cambia de temperatura solo, no toma el comando del control. • La television no funciona, simplemente tiene cable. En el 2024 una televisión de un hotel que no soporte ni Netflix? Wow! • En el zafacon del baño había basura de los huespedes anteriores. • El desayuno, huevos super grasosos, café quemado y las mesas en el area de desayuno completamente sucias. Y ni hablar de que hay que repetirle varias veces a la persona que sirve el desayuno por que no entiende. Definitivamente no pienso en volver a hospedarme en este hotel. Merezco un reembolso por el mal rato que pasamos hasta para bañarnos. Habitación #404, la peor experiencia de hospedaje que he tenido.

For the price, this is an extremely good value. It won’t impress anyone, but I never felt unsafe, unclean, disrespected, etc. The staff were wonderful and quite friendly. The area is amazing. In my country, a hotel at this price would be potentially dangerous but here the low price is just frugality, there is nothing wrong with it. You get all the essentials. The room was clean, the bathroom was the more dissapointing part but it wasn’t dirty, it had warm water that worked instantly, the toilet functioned etc. I would stay here again for sure (someone with more money than me would want to opt for something more expensive if it were a romantic trip for instance). I went up for breakfast at the time they said and there was no breakfast available. It’s on their rooftop and the view isn’t beautiful but it’s nice to be able to eat outdoors without any possible interference, it’s relaxing. It seems they have a chef who cooks to order and she ran out of inventory. I waited 40 mins before giving up. The ppl who’d been able to get food before me looked to be enjoying it and I would guess that the food is good - I saw eggs and a few other things. I probably got unlucky in terms of the timing for breakfast, but just don’t expect food to be ready already. Its a small hotel, it makes sense they don’t cook until they know you want it. At this price I feel like I’d be stealing them to get the breakfast included too!

Excellent at first site. Staff very friendly and supportive. All windows are single pan, so you can hear everything outside. Honking, people, cars and animals all night! Hardly slept! The shower doors are broken, so wasn't able to close shower properly causing water to go everywhere. Otherwise very nice hotel.

Well you get what you pay for. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was more than toast and a boiled egg, but have low expectations.

Everything is fine but I don’t like balcony room, it’s like to sleep outside, the room is very clear, the sunlight is in the room very early in the morning, during the night the light from the street in inside in the room, any way to fix it?

The property was in a good location, close to everything. Cleanliness was good. Pictures did not accurately depict the rooms in the hotel, garbage littered the streets, very noisy throughout the day and night, drunken locals fighting and quarreling during the night, locals blasting latin music during the day from 9am-9pm, hotel staff not helpful; they tried to make me stay at the hotel so that i would spend my money at the hotel only, i ordered breakfast which was advertised at 5 USD, then they brought me a menu that advertised the same breakfast for 10USD; the breakfast included 1 egg, 2 small sausage links, 2 dry pieces of toast and a glass of warm juice. They tried to discourage/block me from using local taxis/ubers and pressured me into using the hotel taxi service which was 5 times more expensive than uber, the maids will not clean your room if u dont ask them to, but they didn't tell me that.

Hotel Jade was perfect! Thanks so much! Close to Ciudad Colonial, it felt very safe, the staff at the front door and the locked door to the hotel at night really helped to feel very safe. I did not have breakfast there but it is available, there is AC included in the room charge, the rooms are clean, there is hot water, the hotel is overall very nice tile and updated, and the price was perfect!

Sheets were soiled. Asked for clean ones and had to change them myself. Neighborhood noisy and unsafe. My reservation dates were confused so, I was charged a cancellation fee. Front desk clerks not very helpful and didn't speak English.

Great staff, price point was exceptional. Very clean rooms. Surroundings where questionable, but ended up being a great experience allowed us to associate and blend into the community.

Good place to go if you need to save money 4 a day

Booked last minute because all the other big hotels like marriot and Renaissance were 200$. Found this one about 5 minutes away from those off into the side streets. Surrounding area was not so great, hotel bed was hard and only a queen so was hard to sleep both myself and wife. People slamming doors alot throughout the night. But for 27$ a night it gsve us a place to crash with ac and a shower to use to catch out flight. Great spot to go if your trying to save money and just need a few hours to crash.

Clean, friendly, basic accommodations located a few historic blocks from the Colonial Zone and Parque Independencia. The roof-top restaurant has a great view of the city and economical breakfast. (But no elevator) AC, hot water worked well. On-site taxi service was convenient.

This property is a complete joke. They don't honor the price they post on Expedia. They won't allow you to check in unless you pay them additional money. The place is a dump. The staff is even worse. They are scam artists at best and know they can get away with their criminal actions in the Dominican Republic. Shame on Expedia for allowing these crooks to profit on Expedia.

I booked my two night stay through expedia weeks in advance. Upon arrival, I was told that the hotel didn't have my room. Once that issue was cleared up, I was told that I needed to pay more than the price that I was given on Expedia. I paid roughly $38 for two nights via Expedia. The hotel worker, not the owner- but rather someone they hired to man the desk, told me it was $25 per night so it would come to $50 for my stay. The owner stated that there was an error with expedia and their pricing. I told the "messenger" to the owner that I had communicated directly with them through the site and they were aware of what I was being charged 2 weeks ago. They tried to argue that these were automated messages but I had saved them and was able to show that this was not the case. I felt that they decided to change the price at 8 pm on my arrival at knowing I would likely have no where to go. The hotel requested that I pay them the $50 directly as no money had been collected via Expedia. I decided to contact Expedia customer service and they clarified that the hotel sets their own prices on the site. Furthermore, they let me know that they had actually already collected the $38 from my card and that the hotel should be aware of this. I believe they were attempting to double charge me. We finally settled on paying the hotel the difference, much to my dismay. The hotel is in a wonderful location and the gentleman working the front desk did his absolute best to help me.

They have no housekeepers while I was there they said they have bars restaurants they don’t have none of those

I book a supreme room and they tried to give me a standard room and told me if I don't want it I could leave so I left and still fighting for my refund cuz I haven't stayed there beware of the rooms they give you and what you paying for.

The area was horrible very noisy I couldn’t sleep. The room was very small and uncomfortable. I would never go back to that hotel . In Expedia this hotel posted many many lies. For example, it’s not in area of Zona Colonial, very popular with tourists, they DO NOT provide FULL breakfast and they don’t have free parking. All of these false advertising is a way to attract customers and it is a scam. Also, Expedia could of done much better than a $100 voucher after many calls, frustrations, we felt scammed after all the false advertisements and even provided photos and video of the area that included small shops on the streets, drunk people, heavy traffic and no where near a beach.

The area doesn’t look so great, but that hotel still stands out. I think the owner needs to relocate this hotel. It’s definitely not a hotel friendly area. We were blocked off for 30 minutes by a delivery truck that was to high to fit under the electrical wires. Definitely too much stress and worries to put tourists through

great location,most of the staff knows english...and very professional...the only issue was the breakfast menu...there was no rotation every day they serve the same thing...after I highly recommend this hotel

It's a place locate in very convenience address to move around all Santo Domingo, but even it's a 3 star hotel, they need to improve the breakfast (only 3 types and repeated every day), also the housekeeping can be better and finally the conditions of the furniture's in the room need have better condition in order to make the stay more confortable if the stay is more than 3 days. For few days is workable, but for vacations is really not good place

Quiet and clean room. Kind staff. Very clean place. There was a phone, alarm clock and the "Do Not Disturb'" sign inside the room. You don't get to find those simple things around that area for an affordable price. The area is okay, close to everything... I recommend taxi at nights. You can walk easily during the day.

This hotel isn't in the Colonial zone as advertised. They dont have elevator and no personnel to carry the luggage, I had to carry my stuffs to a 4th floor. Amenities and entertainment are too far not within walking distance and for breakfast they served the same thing everyday ans the staff is not available and nobody speaks English.

This hotel is exactly like the pictures online, except you can't tell how friendly everyone is until you get there and see it for yourself. The breakfast was lovely, and the fact that you get to enjoy it on the roof is so refreshing. We had hot water, a balcony, TV with cable and breakfast included which is great for such a low price. The hotel was clean, affordable, comfortable and in a great location. There's isn't much more you can ask for.

The room I was in was very small. The breakfast was cheap... not a continental as advertised

The service at the desk and at breakfast was friendly and professional! Breakfast was delicious and filling. The rooms are quite small and the bathrooms extremely small, however they are clean and met my needs completely. There is no elevator in case climbing stairs is a problem.
