Average is the perfect word for this property. It's well located, but it is in need of a face lift. There's nothing wrong with it, but it's also nothing special...but we don't really need anything special! It's walking distance to a great mall, the S Bahn, and plenty of bus routes as well so it's easy to get around. The bathrooms were painfully small BUT the shower was nice.
the lady cooking breakfast was so nice
The highlight was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. Was a little outdated. No fridge or microwave. Right next to large shopping center and restaurants.
Everything was good, thank you
Received early check in and an upgraded room for joining the app upon arrival! Staff were very nice and helpful, room was lovely and clean, very good facilities
Nice little hotel
Clean and exactly as stated on the tin, staff were really helpful and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Thank you
Good
Hotel selected as budget friendly compared to central Munich hotels, an easy 10 - 15 minute walk from Pasing station (trains to Munich every couple of minutes - journey 10 mins). Room was basic but clean & comfortable, breakfast was extra, the room overlooked a building site.
close walking distance into shopping area, or could hop onto the tram to get to the train station with access to all S-bahn and many db trains. a little further on same tram in other direction ends at Munich's main train station. Would have been nice to have a water cooker, but we had our own with us. We would definitely return here again.
An all round excellent budget hotel.
Was continually told that my shower was fine when it clearly wasn't and basically got yelled at every time I brought it up. The room, and everything thing in it is tiny. Barely had room to sit down on the toilet. You literally have more leg room flying economy than on the toilet.
Can't fault it for the price! Only v minor criticism is that maybe the bathroom could be modernised but it didn't affect our stay! Convenient for visiting town and a good area for any basics you may need. A decent size shopping centre within 10 minutes walk
The place is clean, but it is old. This is normal for a lot of buildings in Berlin. The area is very walkable and convenient.
Great location to get back and forth to Oktoberfest at a reasonable price, the staff are more than accommodating very friendly. The property is a little tired but it was clean and tidy. The bathrooms are a bit on the akward side but still a good place to stay.
It is fine. Very old fashioned property. Bit far out so takes 45mins to get to city centre, but there is a tram stop outside
Did not meet expectations. Photos online not even close to what we experienced. Bugs in room, very outdated. No AC, very loud can hear people next door
No sleep in Munich
The hotel is very old, you can hear everything through the walls. Very hot room, no AC and by train line so very loud with the window open. I wouldn’t stay here again! Also the room is very tiny
The hotel is in a good central Munich location. It was a good value and the breakfast was great.
Simple stays
Clean and as it was advertised, even better. The reception was freindly and helpfull. The public transport is very close by. Also cozy restaurant just at the corner. It can be noisy if the other rooms' residence talk loud but it is depend on your luck not the hotel management.
1 night stay
Nice basic hotel, very close to Tram Stop, helpful staff.
Lovely hotel, great location
Overall, the hotel was fantastic and we had a lovely stay. The room was a little small and cramped however very manageable for the both of us. The bathroom again was quite small and the shower had a bad leak but served a purpose nonetheless. We paid extra for the breakfast which was very good. Good selection of food and drink for breakfast even for myself as gluten free. The option to leave the key with reception whilst we were out was a very nice touch. Very good geographical location, about a 10 minute walk from the S-Bahn station and multiple amenities within a 5 minute walk. Definitely be returning.
Great location and price for the Oktoberfest, staf was very helpful, room was very small, but will go again next Oktoberfest.
All was fine and well
Great location. 2 min walk to public transportation. Hotel staff was very friendly. Beds were comfortable. Would stay here again.
It may not be to everyone's taste, but I love this hotel for it big rooms, consistent breakfast selection, awesome showers and friendly staff. It is a fair way out from the centre of Munich, but the 19 tram runs right outside and Pasing station (with some nice restaurants and a huge shopping arcade) is a ten minute walk away.
Horrible Avoid this hotel ! I had to put my head on my backpack pillow big enough for a doll Only 5 parking spaces the 15 euro/ night Tin walls we hear your neighbors taking lots of very loud parties couldn’t sleep all night Do yourself a favor and avoid this horrible hotel !
I really liked it being close to the Arcaden mall and train station
No air conditioning. Window open to major street. Bar in hotel is cash only. Said to go down the street to atm.
Very basic. Stay here if you are on budget. Close to Pasing station with lots of shops and food options.
Staff must have better skills at customer service. However, everything was sorted in the end.
Ok hotel away from Munich's centre
Location rather away from the city centre, some 10min walk from the Pasing station, which is however well-connected by several S-bahn lines into the centre, which takes only little over 10min. Hotel is currently undergoing some works and is pretty much fully covered by scaffolding - it was also right outside of my room's window. Room was reasonably spacious and equipped, though the equipment of both room and bathroom was somewhat outdated. Still, it was clean and it's an ok option if you don't mind the location and it comes at a right price.
Great hotel - would stay again
Amazing hotel. The guy at reception was very helpful. You meed to ask for a kettle if like us Brits you need tea at night. Room was clean and large, bathroom was clean. Overall 9 out of 10. Breakfast was great, fruit, youghurt, cheese, meats, and an enormous crossaint. Tea and coffee with fruit juices as normal.
Die Sauberkeit und das freundliche Personal sind mir sehr wichtig und das war hervorragend.
Beds are a bit stiff, the breakfast is pretty lit though
Exceptional customer service.Would stay agin.Room was spotless.Incredible buffet breakfast!!! The best.Make this your stay.
Great stay
Family trip, hotel was perfect for what we were looking for... close to metro station, safe area, and clean.
Nice hotel, easy transport to the town center
Nice hotel a little outside the town center. But it was very easy to get into town with the Tram nr. 19. There was also a big shopping center close to teh hotel
Good value
Good value. The room is small but pleasant, clean and quiet, with a good breakfast, all at a good price. Thanks!
October Fest 2019
Hotel provides basics, no thrills. Clean, close to metro station.
Nice clean property and a good breakfast. Shower was very good, if a little on the small side.
This is a very good small hotel. Everything went very well; Not to hard to find and convenient for public transport. Near to the pleasant suburb of Pasing and rapid transport. The staff seemed to be very friendly and efficient considering this was a extremely busy time of year for them.
The breakfast is so good, besides train station is very close.
Nice little hotel.
This was a nice hotel and we enjoyed staying there. Hotel staff were both friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. No coffee and tea making facilities or fridge or air conditioning. We went into this hotel knowing that this was the case and knowing that this is how most hotels are in Germany. This did not upset us at all, but it was very warm at night. The breakfast facilities are very well presented and the food excellent. The hotel is not too far from the train stop and buses and trains stop near the front of the hotel. We arrived with a rental car and found parking very easy to find, and free, however there is not many spaces, but parking might be found in the street behind the hotel at times. There are several restaurants located nearby and a very large shopping complex about 5 to 10 minutes walk. Walk out to the front of the hotel and continue left along the main road about 2 our 3 blocks.
The staff were excellent and the breakfast filling and amply varied for most tastes, the shower had very hot and very cold water and awesome pressure, and the transport links were close by and varied (tram, buses and trains within 5 minute walk). Local restauants and shops also about a five minute walk away in Pasing. The curtains in the rooms didn't block out enough light in the summer nights and the bed was a little to hard and narrow for my taste (plus there is a lot of traffic noise if you leave your window open). But I think the good points outweighed the bad and I would happily stay here again.
VERY thin walls. When the Chinese guys next door decided to party at 5 in the morning, all possibility for sleep was gone. Quite old, seemingly dirty hallways, however the rooms were ok. Breakfast was ok for one night but could have used some darker bread options.
The location of the hotel was great, the breakfast that was included was also good, but the thing that bothered me was the way the toilet was situated to close to the wall, and if your a biggish person like me the knees were touching the wall, also the shower was just the other side of the toilet, I found that this could be a health and safety issue, the bed was ok but could of done with a bit better mattress, also when I asked for a twin room I was expecting 2 single beds not 2 single beds joined together with a double mattress put on top 😞. If you people could look into room 619 then you can understand my concerns.
Beds were very uncofortable . Rooms were outdated. The bathrooms were very tiny. Staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. For a short stay like 1 or 2 day would be good but anything longer would suggest else where. Not made for 2 people 6ft tall . Rooms were also hot and stuffy a fan could help alot . I give the hotel a 2.5 the breakfast and staff are the saving grace.
Compact and dated, but comfortable budget hotel.
Hotel is budget, and so we were not expecting anything fantastic. Check in was good, although the hotel is used by tours, so bad luck if you arrive at the same time! Lift was TINY! 3 people without luggage is absolute maximum, so expect some delays. Room was small, as expected. We had 3 beds and there was virtually no floor remaining. Small wardrobe, and we stored our cases back in the car to make space. Bathroom small, and the shower was a two-tap type so took some balancing. Everything felt very dated, although clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was continental plus scrambled eggs and sausage / bacon. The 2 staff struggled to keep up at peak times but it was always replenished. Breakfast room too hot though. Hotel directly on tram line, with 1 stop to the S Bahn so very well located. Grocery stores etc local too.
Nice little hotel with good transport connections
Only “negatives” were that the bathroom and room were a bit small, and there was no iron or kettle in the room, but these were only little things and didn’t really take away from the good experience we had, especially for the reasonable price. The staff were friendly and helpful, check in and check out was very easy, there was a good selection of nice food for breakfast (including some hot sausages and scrambled eggs and toast), and all the areas were clean and comfortable. There are shops nearby and a tram stop just 1 minute walk away, to get you into central Munich. There is also a shopping centre and train station 5-10 minutes walk away. The area seemed fine and we didn’t have any worries about walking around there after dark if we got back late. Would stay there again next time!
This hotel is just not up to an expected comfort standard for this price category. First things first - Munich is an expensive city to live in and perhaps also to stay for a few days. This being said, perhaps one must calibrate expectations accordingly. The good: Location is excellent, just off from Pasing station and easy to be reached by streetcar. Bed is firm and the room appeared to be clean. The "ok": Breakfast featured only one type of bun, lots of sliced sausage meats, sausages and analog-egg-stuff. The coffee was threateningly bad. Overall, breakfast was marginal, fair at best. The not so good: Tiny room size with a very small washroom / shower although the room was named extra comfortable compared to others. Bathroom was modern but barely comfortable. Very old hallways and elevator (a tiny 3 person lift). The awful: Internet in the rooms barely works, only 400 kB download made this a horrible experience, especially for a online/digitally working person. Noise from the street prominent when window slightly open. Rather blasé staff, no apologies about bad internet. "You are alone? Why didn´t you book a single room??" It appears double rooms are the same size as single rooms. Well great :-( The strange: Room cleaning staff take their time, are very noisy and cleaning apparatus remains in the hallways until 3pm (!). Never witnessed that anywhere else before. Overall, I cannot recommend this place and would only return if NOTHING else were available.
The hotel worked for my needs. The only thing I didn’t like was I could not get WiFi on my phone, but I think it was just my phone not wanting to log on to there signal. I could get on WiFi in other places on Munich just fine and some others it wouldn’t work either, I was just my phone. Great price for my budget, I’m on vacation, I’m not really going to spend much time in my room. I’m out exporting.
Ok for price
Was ok could have been better staff were helpful
The hotel is a little run down, especially noticeable with the hallway carpeting. Shower was also showing wear with a few missing tiles and grout. Overall the room was comfortable and accommodating for the price.
Unpleasant stay
We had an eventful stay. Early morning my husband went down stairs and when he returned he could not get back in and had locked me in the room and needed the manager to open the door. I tried to have a shower and the water stopped during my shower. I tried the tap in the sink and still no water. The internet dropped out while using.
Value for the price
Two nights at this hotel it was pretty much what we expected for the rate we paid If you want a four star hotel then you should pay four star rates Staff were extremely helpfull and even lent us their fan from reception for our two hot summer nights Transport to the city was easy either from Pasing Station (walking distance) or the tram which is about 100 metres away from the front of the hotel
Imperial Review
Friendly staff and excellent breakfast.
Value
Budget no-frills hotel with good staff and breakfast.
Fantastic Hotel
A hidden gem of Munchen. The Hotel provides a service on a par with more expensive Hotels in the area, the staff are helpful, and couldnt do more to make your stay better. The rooms are spacious and inviting, and were warm even when the weather was a bracing -4 to -10 outside. The breakfast buffet is second to none, with a wide range of food, that is always being replenished The Hotel is excellent value for money
Comfortable, suburban hotel.
I had an enjoyable stay. The hotel provided ease of access to public transport with a tram stop outside the premises connecting with Munich Pasing railway station less than 1 km away. Breakfast was substantial and satisfying. I shall be happy to revisit this hotel on my next trip to Munich in December.
Internet surcharge ??
Internet surcharge of €5.00 per day is not exceptepel
impressive breakfast buffet
Reception had trouble finding my booking info. Anyway, very kind and helpful staff. satisfied with breakfast buffet.
When I first entered the hotel, and eventually the room, I was surprised that this hotel had a low rating. After staying there for the week, I was convinced to ensure that I give this hotel a low rating. Firstly, the positives - the breakfast-perfect amount of variety so as to enjoy eating, but not over eat. Location, not too bad. It's on the far West end of Munich and then a 15 minute walk. The area is nice - full of shopping options. Now the negatives - they only have twin beds. So if you ask for a double then they put the twins together. It's horrible.. The middle really hurts and you definitely cannot enjoy it as a double. Then the hot water .. It randomly keeps changing the temperature from warm to burning hot. The bathroom/toilet itself is tiny but worse is no shower curtain, meaning the shower water goes absolutely everywhere. In my experience, thin walls weren't an issue.. But maybe I just got lucky. But then when you weigh all this up with how cheap it is to stay there, I would probably stay there again if I can't find anything better on my next trip.
Not safe
I dont think this hotel is safe. My iPad disappeared. The location is goodand the breakfast as well. Of course afterthe episode with my ipad I would not stay again.
Better than expected!
the pictures didn't make it look all that great but we were greatly surprised when we showed up. So much nicer than the pictures with nice staff and an amazing breakfast offered. Would definitely stay again and would recommend it to others.
Nice comfortable hotel with no fuss
Room comfortable. S-Bahn then tram required to get there from centre of town. Staff pleasant and friendly. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Not a 3.5!
We stayed for 4 nights and found the hotel to be terrible. Walls are paper thin that you could hear every sound around you. The bathroom, aside from being tiny, smells really old. The only thing going for this hotel is the sumptuous breakfast but who could eat well if you lack sleep? It is located in Pasing which is about 6 kilometers from downtown Munich so we bought a 72-hour public transpo pass and made good use of it. It was our last stop in our 21-day European travel and from there, it was a straight shot to the airport via the S8 train which goes every 20 minutes. Travel time is 50 minutes, more or less.
The hotel is a good budget option. It is clean, and it is in a cute area on the outskirts of Munich. It is not too difficult to catch public transport into the city though. The breakfast was very good, but be aware if you need wifi it costs extra and was not super fast.
Good
We enjoyed the visit very much, very warm and frendly staff. Breakfast was wonderful and plentiful. Location is fantastic, tram stops steps away. Main drawback was the inability to use the wifi, and the bathroom was quite uncomfortable.
Oktoberfest Break
It was very convenient for the tram into the City and the breakfast was excellent.
Excelent value for the service and super breakfast
Is located in Passing a suburb next to Munich but accesible by the tramway or bus at the corner and very near to the Passing train station. The staff was always friendly , you can park your car outside at no charge. Restaurants and shops in the same corner.
Very affordable
The breakfast was excellent, bathrooms were small, and Internet would only work in lobby. The Accommodations are fine for the price.
A great place to stay in Munich!
If you're on a budget, Hotel Imperial is a great option! They offer 24 hour check-in if you've already booked in advance, clean rooms and excellent breakfast. Getting to the main station is just one tram ride away (approximately 20 minutes).
Hotel should really be called a hostel
This small hotel is about 20 min via tram to downtown Munich. Everything is very substandard from the room accommodations to downstairs lounge and eating area.
Lovely staff and good location
Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel could do with some updating. Hot water on and off. For the price, I'd stay again due to staff and location near the trains
great breakfast
Very good breakfast with fresh orange juice. Hotel is located very close to tram(1 min) and metro (10 min) station
Far from most attractions, small and needs renovat
We did not like it, needs renovation specially the bathroom and rooms are very small, but i did not found a cheaper option. Is far from downtown.
Formidable breakfast !
Staff is formidable and courteous. Good location near Pasing Station. Nice hotel to spend just a night.
Charge Wifi
Good enough. But charge Wifi 2Euro for a half hour!
Good
Good
Clean, excellent breakfast, great water pressure
Our bathroom ceiling had a drain repair that looked awful; it was extremely tiny and tight to get out of the shower stall (barely enough room in front of the toilet that was oddly placed). However, taking a hot shower with faucets on full blast gave a welcoming massage. The room was comfortable for 2. The room and bathroom were exceptionally clean, although it was slightly stuffy. The price was good for what you paid. It was great for a place to rest after enjoying the city. Breakfast was an amazing spread. The staff worked tirelessly to keep the food full on plates, cleaning the tables, providing hot coffee and tea - good brew. Recent renovations to lounge looks nice.
Munich Hotel
Great location.
Mr grumpy pants
Walking through the door we were grunted at by a grumpy attendant. He was efficient at least and we were in our room before long. Double room means two single beds but easily pushed together.
Good for a few days break
We had reserved a room with a double bed yet when we arrived it was two singles instead. Customer service was ok! I would recommend this hotel for a short stay holiday.
Imperial
Was ok everything below in more details. No more info to give .....…….............. . . . . .
Near a tramline to city centre
We were assured when we booked that we would get breakfast included in the price and this was not the case. We were furious as none of us had budgeted for a tariff of 8 Euros a day for this service. The food was very good - no complaints there but very annoying to find we had to pay.
helpful staff, easy to find
Hotel is located about 30 minutes tram ride from the city Centre. Quiet location. Relatively easy to find after getting off from tram. Staff were very helpful in providing information. room is very small n the soundproof is very bad. We could hear our neighbors conversation plus the sound of the elevator the entire time we were in the room. Elevator is small and can barely fit two persons with luggage but that is not a big issue as long as an elevator is available when traveling with luggage trolley.
Friendly, clean, quaint, and INCREDIBLE BREAKFAST
Even though this was a pretty cheap hotel to stay In, that didn't reflect the service at all. I felt like I was staying in a Marriott with the level of professionalism, and quality of service they provided. The breakfast was superb, with a wide range of foods to choose froms with all the German classics. As you're eating the staff is constanly bringing coffee to the table. even at 3:00am, there is someone there that will bring you a sandwitch. It's about a 15 minute walk to the maim train statiom and another 20 minutes to get to.city center. It's kind of oit of the way, bit for the price, It was worth it. Fantastic hotel, will go back if Im in Munich again!
Good Hotel for Oktoberfest
Hotel was clean and maintained. Maybe a little out of date. Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. The staff showed patience with hotel guests that had over indulged at the Oktoberfest. The hotel is close to U8 Passing station and S19 Knie Station.
Basic Hotel and a cheap price.
Decent hotel for the price. Friendly staff, clean rooms. I only spent one night here and the room was just fine for a cheap place to sleep, but nothing exciting about this place. I also though it was closer to the Munich HBF, but the trams were easy to figure out. About 15 min to t he main trainstation. Couldn't get the TV to work, and the water in the shower went from super hot to super cold every few minutes.
Hotel Imperial
Stayed here during Oktoberfest. Very English friendly, breakfast was amazing. Walls were super thin, and we heard everything in the hall and neighboring rooms. Close to the tram and only 15 min ride to Oktoberfest grounds. Bar in lobby was handy.
Bernau Chimsee
Great hotel! Loved the service and quaint atmosphere!
satisfied
Generally satisfied. Easy access to public transportation. Neighborhood is not bad. Clean and comfortable hotel. Helpful staff. No air condition.
Horrible Experience of lifetime
What to write; Horrible, don't recommend anybody; No water, elevator not working, key to get in the room not working; what else to mention; worst night of life.
Not what was expected
This hotel was a disappointment. Rooms were small square and very dated. We booked 3 rooms and one of the rooms and all were suppose to be non-smoking. One of the rooms had a strong smokey odor. We tried to change the room but they said they were full and had no other rooms available. The walls also were not insulated at all and you could hear even low conversations through the walls. The beds were very uncomfortable. Also the lobby was small and very cramped. Will likely be back in the area for business again and will not stay here again.
Highly recommended!!
We had 3 rooms for 3 nights. The buffet was a great start to each morning, then we hopped on the Bahn S (2 blocks away) providing access to anywhere in Munich you wanted to be (within 20 minutes or so). Then we had a night cap in the bar down stairs prior to turning in each night. We will most definitely be staying here again.
Good, but plan on spending a lot of time on trams
This hotel is nice and comfortable, very clean, and recently renovated. The breakfast is so-so, but not worth €8 per person. We did better with food from the grocery store. The only negative aspect is the long distance from the hotel to anything of interest. It is in the 'burbs. Practically in another city. Trams to the transport hub at the train station are frequent, but they are always crowded. You could very well spend the whole 20 mins standing in the aisles. Or 30+ mins in rush hour. If you don't mind the long commutes, then otherwise this is a nice hotel.
not impressed
Hotel room was extremely small. Our double bed was 2 twin beds that we pushed together. One side of the bed was broken. Dining room was the nicest area of the hotel that I saw. I thought they were going to charge me for the hair dryer that I had to ask for at the front desk. Absolutely no place to park close by.
Super dupper
As per usual this hotel came up trumps on price clean and staff They even gave me the room I requested on the ground floor Breakfast super dupper. Those mini breakfast rolls to die for
