Rude receptionists and noisy rooms!!

Reception staff need retraining, they are rude and don’t even deal with the issue! Rooms are so noisy, can hear everything happening 3 rooms down, paper thin walls! Condition of bathroom was not great, needs a good clean!! Pools was crap, no wonder no one was up there!

The hotel is modern and the rooms are spacious. The roof top pool and location of hotel is plus. We would definitely be back!

was a bit disappointed with the hotel- rooms need renovation, it was loud in the hallways. This was more like a 2 star hotel. About 20 minutes from all tourist destinations. For the amount of money- it could have been a lot better

Poblenou perfect hotel

We’ve been coming to Illunion Hotel for the past 5 or 6 years because of the location, the service, the comfort and the breakfast. We love this place.

Perfect Hotel. Everything is nice and luxury.

The hotel was fine, the bathroom was definitely in need of refurbishment but the rest of the place was good. Would definitely come back as the location is so good. 8 min walk to the beach and lots of restaurants and ice cream shops nearby.

Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast options superb as restaurant staff took note your preference and provided everything you asked for no issue at all. Beach is on walking distance. Public transport near by too. Highly recommended.

Excellent breakfast. Awesome, spacious rooms. Large fridge, safe in the room. Great rooftop pool. Very close to the beach. Contrary to previous comments, the hotel is not 'off the beaten path". Very walkable plus easy metro to follow if you need to get around other than by foot. Taxis are always available outside as well. I'd stay there again for sure! One area of improvement would be (this is super picky), would be to add a nespresso machine in the room rather than the instant coffee. OR a regular coffee machine with better coffee.

The hotel is old and dated wich isnt clearly visable at first but the rooms show this. The staff dont really go out the way to help. I asked for 2 glasses and they gave me paper cups, as a hotel i belive standards should be higher. Breakfast was standard and i skipped it 3/5 mornings. Over all ciuld do better.

Its a beautiful hotel near the beach, its a little too off the beaten path for me. The metro and mall is within walking distance. Your only 4 metro stops from la rambla. It's a quiet area with nice restaurants and shops ,just 1 block away from the hotel. I was not impressed with housekeeping several times they did not clean my room, the teabags and sugar was never replaced. When i called the front desk they handled it immediately. If you want a peaceful experience this is the hotel to visit.

Nice clean hotel with good facilities and polite and friendly staff. Not much to do in the immediate vicinity, but within easy walking distance of the beachfront, and good public transport links with bus stops nearby and Llacuna metro station within 10 minutes walk as well.

Stayed at this hotel for 5 nights, was a great experience, staff was friendly and the hotel looked great like exactly like the images and the room was perfect for me. Cleaners came almost everyday and cleaned my room. Gym is quite small but adequate, the swimming pool isn’t really used often but it’s really nice in the day. Would definitely recommend and is a 10min walk to the beach and has a station nearby

Very clean room and friendly service

Probably one of the best 4 star so far. Loved the eco friendly approach and the room was quite spacious and comfortable. Service was beautiful and we will be looking to book Ilunion hotels very soon.

Very good stay

Loved the location. Not the hustle and bustle of the central city area, yet in easy reach of the city centre (bus, metro - Llacuna station, even walking), and of course - a leisurely stroll down to the beachfront. Poblenou Rambla - bars and restaurants a plus. Hotel staff friendly too.

We liked that this hotel was away from tourist attractions but within 2 kilometers of them. Great dining and shopping options in the area. Only 1 kilometer to the beach.

Great location close to the beach. Hotel very clean and pool area was lovely. Also a nice wee bar up at the pool which was great.

Everything was good, the only reason I don't give 5 stars is because the wifi network is very bad and the AC in the room was confortable but it felt hot at times, maybe due to the heat wave... Outside it was noisy in the mornings but that is nothing to do with the hotel I've found it was the trash truck lifting those heavy containers with glass in it

Property close to beach. Breakfast was not good. Also restaurant menu was so small. Place is not good for food.

Smell in the room was not that good... something like electronic cigarette... our level corridor was too cold too.

I enjoyed my stay here in the handful of days I spent in Barcelona! The breakfast provided (I paid 16 Euros at the host stand the morning of — you can either prepay your breakfasts upon booking or not) is decent for what I paid for, especially if you have early morning plans and need a convenient plate or two before dashing out. You can expect churros, scrambled eggs, veggie fried rice and Asian noodles, sliced fruit, cold cuts, and pastries. Location-wise, this hotel is really great. You're a ten-minute walk from Bogatell and the nude beach, Mar Bella, as well as the rambla with lots of storefronts: Greek, Italian, and Spanish restaurants with some mercats and shops in between. There are a few bus stops and the Llacuna subway stop nearby that can take you from Poblenou to the rest of the city as well as a train station for further, more regional stops (recommended if the Dali Museum is on your attraction list). You can easily pick up a Metro card from the Llacuna stop. Reception was nice and made checking in and out easy. They can also send postcards and other mail for you. The pool at the 9th floor is large enough to chill with friends and swim short laps. The fitness center has pretty much everything you need for basic workouts. My room was very clean and cozy when I came in and housekeeping does a great job at tidying the place when I'm out. They also make a point about being environmentally friendly throughout the building which I appreciate. I'd stay here again :)

This hotel’s service does not matched their grade and price. We have stayed 4 nights in this hotel but they have never changed bath towels and provide cleaning supplies during room the service. Also, they don’t have bath fan. However, their breakfast and dinner were good.

This was a comfortable, luxurious stay while we were in Barcelona. It's far away enough from the chaos of downtown, but close enough to explore and enjoy the delights of the city. This is located in a clean, quiet neighbourhood, with all the amenities. We really enjoyed being in a residential neighbourhood, a mere 10 minute walk from the beautiful beach. The breakfast was great and we definitely recommend staying here.

Fantastic hotel, big rooms, close to everything

Awesome hotel! Very clean rooms, super friendly staff, buffet breakfast option was totally worth adding on. I was a little hesitant about the distance from city center but I'm glad I booked here instead. It's just a short walk to L3 Llacuna station and gets you right into city center. It's also only a short walk to the beach, and a block to Ramblas Poblenou which has quaint patisseries, restaurants and cafés for everything you need. The rooftop pool is a little smaller than in the photos but it's clean and wonderful up there for a relaxing sunbathe. The hotel also has escooters for discount right in the lobby if you want to zip to the beach in the bike lanes. 100% recommend this amazing hotel, and book the suite for extra space and relaxation! My only suggestion would be for them to upgrade to smart TVs so you could watch Netflix at night if you wanted.

Really enjoyed our stay and would return if staying in Barcelona again. This hotel was around 5/10 minute walk from the beach and very close to buses and the L4 metro route. The rooms were huge. The staff were also very accommodating and very friendly! Breakfast was lovely also! A small amount of cooked but very clean and tidy hotel!

The hotel and room were clean. It’s next to many dining options and the train. The hotel had European outlets in the room so if traveling from the US bring your own outlet adapter. They also do not have “wash cloths” to wash your body so bring your own.

It's an excellent hotel and very near Llacuna tube stop. Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, dining staff in the evenings could be more attentive. We had dinner on two occasions and both times had to wait until staff came to show us a table. Breakfast staff were excellent and went out of their way to ensure we enjoyed the delicious breakfast.

Requested queen bed and received a double. Maybe Expedia is not the best source for this hotel? Was a serious damper on our anniversary. Management offered no help. There were rotting tiles in the shower as well and carpet stains were obvious. Good location but horrible amenities. There's several hotels that would be a better pick.

We had booked a double room and were given to single beds instead and on the first night found bed bugs/moths on the bed. We got our room changed but then whilst eating at the resturant the ketchup was black when I checked the packaging I noticed it was out of date. It really made me feel sick of what else may be our of date. Complained to the staff and they just picked it up without any apology or anything.

Staff working in the restaurant are not honestly.They are rude and talk. Room looks good from photos but it is old. Bathroom ceiling rusty. Chairs are look very bad and stale.

Amazing service at the restaurant/breakfast buffet, we stayed there 5 nights and Frank the waiter took great care of us.

Front staff at reception were very helpful. Coffee at breakfast was too strong. As well breakfast staff created a non relaxing atmosphere. Always running around and watching what you are doing. We sat at a table for 4 instead of a table for two and were asked to move but we did not like the chairs at the table for 2. The guy then said we could sit at the table for 4. It was not busy. Should have available napkins in case you use more than one. I used another napkin where there was a place setting. The waiter saw me and was not happy.

I actually had a great time. The room was clean and surprisingly large. The staff was very friendly and helped me when I had a shower mishap at 1am. They also hire handicapped people to clean the rooms, which I find really super. Will definitely return as I often have business in Barcelona! Thanks!

The staff was very kind and professional. I unfortunately didn't know there to stay for my first time in Barcelona. Therefore, I asked if I could cancel so I could be closer to the heart of the city. They graciously obliged me and I really appreciated it.

Confortable stay in wonderful Poblenou

No frills but great for few nights stay

No frills 3.5* hotel, receptionists and breakfast 4*. Tiny gym and rooftop swimming pool but a beach is just 7 minutes away. Body wash container wasn't topped up at all during our 3 nights stay but that's wasn't a major issue. Hotel is not central yet near to a metro, plenty of restaurants and the beach.

The Hotel would have been great if it wasn't for a few things: 1. The Expedia package did not have the breakfast included. They charge 10Euros per person for breakfast. They charged this at the arrival (for 3 days) without telling us it was for 3 days. We only were there for 2 days but did charge us for another at the checkout and lied about refunding the money. 2. The hotel room we were in was tired (hole in the bathtub, swollen skitboard in the bathroom. Air conditioning rattling loudly. 3. The swimming pool is very small otherwise the hotel and the area is really nice

Poor condition at very dated hotel

If you like mould, rust and broken lighting hanging from the ceiling in the bathroom then this hotel is for you! Poor conditions. Dated hotel, dirty bathrooms with mould and rust. See photos. Very poor food selection in the restaurant if you arrive late there is nothing you can ordered. Not recommended.

Accomodation is ok-ish but …

Overall ok but … Check out at 12.00 and hotel charges 50€ to keep the room for an extra 4 hours only - which is ridiculous from my view. The logic would say that You charge for half the price of a night if you keep the room for half a day ??! A bit overpriced 80€-100€ a night no breakfast … Size of room ok. Location - beach nearby but would need a taxi for other main touristic attractions. Group of noisy teens from the college next door hanging in the Hotel Lounge area on daily basis - not really nice when you are client of the hotel and just want to rest.

I found myself in a housing emergency and booked my stay on the app down the street from the hotel. Five minutes later I was being checked into a clean quiet comfortable room. The staff was uniformly excellent - some of the best overall service I’ve ever seen in my many years of traveling. Breakfast was fresh, well organized, and safe. I look forward to returning! Thumbs up!

Fantastic location and service

The best location you can find in Barcelona (not in the old town, but so full of locals and tourists alike). Close to shops, restaurants, beach. The rooms are very spacious, the bed sooo comfortable. Service was great and the pool is a big plus (make sure you book your slots as there is not that much space due to covid restrictions). Overall it was an amazing stay !! will definitely come again.
